marc’s charts for the WHAT
'for the third or fourth time' - the problem is when you're making charts for a rider who has the audacity to keep competing, the numbers keep changing. (reading this sentence over I realised it comes across as rather rude to anon without the quotation marks.) which means that if I'm sorting something by xyz number, I then need to go back and use the updated figure to remake the chart. and if I end up taking longer on a post than I think, and this happens 2-3 times... you can see how this can quickly get annoying
#i do also at some point have to figure out what to do with sprint races. especially for pecco/martin#also can i just say that the covid years doubling up of circuits (and this year for that matter) is SUCH a hassle. every fucking time#'oh no did the global pandemic mess with your spreadsheet organisation oh no' well look. it did#//#brr brr#batsplat responds#like say you're making a stat for someone's performance at idk jerez. genuinely what do you do with sprints#do you count them as just another race and include them in their own right? ignore them? make separate stats for all of them?#i guess philosophically speaking the question is whether you'd expect a different track to track performance profile in sprint races#like for instance is somebody RELATIVELY better in their sprint to race performance at le mans than at buriram or whatever#which? why would they be? would you really get a rider who is only good at portimao sprints but can't race on a sunday there for shit?#so then you could argue that getting all up in arms about weighting races differently doesn't matter and you should just use everything
