Good, bc I don't feel like finding my original post about it! (I realized about halfway through the second paragraph that this is going to be kind of long...)

Oh geez, okay, I'm putting parenthetical asides in italics bc it was hard for even me to read. It...it has to go under a cut for my own sanity

to get it out of the way, Donald and Griffin are both weird rich men (Donald's age is inconsistent, but he's in his late 30s/early 40s, depending on which episode you believe, so I wouldn't really call him "old", per se), but they probably butt heads and avoid each other when they can. I doubt it's very difficult though, seeing as Donald is in tech and Griffin has like eight billion different things his company manufactures. Donald is focused on money too, but his company is only tech based, while Griffin has branched out to include more things. I bet they hate each other SO much.

I don't think Chase and Logan would actually butt heads too much. They're both the smartest people in their households (okay technically Chase IS smarter than Donald), and they don't really have anyone else to connect over nerdy stuff with. Chase's smarts are valued when it matters, but he gets made fun of for being nerdy (in the way siblings do) and while Logan doesn't get made fun of, really, his smarts are also valued for what they can do for others. I think Chase and Logan would love having someone they can talk to about their interests (space being one they would connect over, along with medical science. Logan wants to be a doctor, and Chase has literally taken classes to become "a chiropractor in the Philippines" in the computer lab on his literal first day of high school) without needing to help anyone. They can just be nerds. Post-You Posted What?!?, Logan is going to lose his shit when he finds out Chase has been to space before. Chase would get to talk for like an hour about how his bionic infrastructure works and Logan would listen intently.

The main dynamics I was thinking about were Chase + Logan, Adam + Carlos, and Bree + Kendall, initially.

I think Bree would so have a little crush on Kendall at first, but it wouldn't last very long.

Now that I think about it...if Katie is in the picture...ok, hold on. Bree and Katie would get along fantastically...eventually. Bree "I need a sister" Davenport and Katie Knight? Oh my god, the way that would unfold... Bree obviously wants to act like an older sister to her, because she's always wanted a sister. If you've seen Jonas LA, it's a little like that time Stella tried to babysit Kiara at first, up until Bree gets frustrated and her inner tomboy comes out, much to Katie's relief. (Katie kept running off to talk to Chase about the stock market and things of that nature. She sounded very intellectual, and she wasn't incorrect, so Chase took her seriously, which is saying something since he's always the first to correct people.) Bree and Katie eventually mastermind a prank on all of their brothers, and Bree learns that the idea of having a sister isn't all ribbons and glitter, and that that's okay.

AND ADAM AND CARLOS. Even pre-You Posted What?!?, they hit it off almost immediately. ("Why do you wear that helmet all the time?" "I get hit in the head a lot" "Oh, cool, maybe I need one of those...") They set up something akin to the zipline course in the Davenport living room (the Davenliving room? lol), just something super dangerous and irresponsible, but unrelated to bionics. Adam makes the mistake of using one of Donald's inventions and it goes horribly wrong. (Not like, resulting in death wrong, just "wrong" along the lines of Adam getting shrunk down to 2 inches tall or Bree's hair growing down to the floor/getting burnt off) Post-You Posted What?!? Carlos is an eager participant in games such as Bionic Brother Toss and Human Bullseye Bounce (I had to look up the episode to find the name of that one), which are very dangerous (for Carlos), but luckily he always has his helmet! They're never bored together. Never.

I think this crossover lends itself well to a plotline where Adam, Bree, Chase and Leo get to see the better side of James's personality. Leo especially would get SO fed up with James's occasional self-centeredness (ironic since Leo has his moments, too) and I think it would be hilarious, but in certain circumstances James has been known to put his friends first and not even think about himself (like in Big Time Movie) and the setting/nature of lab rats provides ample opportunities for characters to be in danger. James uses his conceitedness as a defense mechanism, and Chase becomes more egotistical (at times) in later seasons for the same reasons. I think a later seasons version of Chase could eventually realize that he and James have more in common than they thought, but as it stands, earlier seasons Chase isn't as self-absorbed (side note: Chase's overconfidence is about his intelligence, while James's is about his looks. this is where they clash. once the veil falls, they realize they're both insecure and playing themselves up to mask that. the conflict lies in finding a plot point that would result in both of their masks coming down at the same time or close to each other), and the one person they know who's that obnoxious about their looks is Mr. Davenport, and none of them (consciously) want to be like their father. HOWEVER, an Event occurs, and the lab rats + Leo realize James more layers than he lets people see. (Leo can make any interaction funny, though. Leo "I think what this needs is a little dab o' Dooley" Dooley and James "who's handsomer than you? no one!" Diamond in a room together? Leo would roast the shit out of him in a one-sentence quip and the conversation would just continue and leave James in the dust. Early seasons Leo, that is. Later seasons Leo is more jaded--though still funny--ever since the lab blew up, he almost lost multiple limbs, etc. so I think his dynamic with James would be different.) But yeah, James has layers that he sorta needs a catalyst to reveal, but I think the rats would get along with him much better once he lets his true colors show.

Kendall is an interesting one. I actually think he and Chase would butt heads more than Logan and Chase would. Kendall is the "leader", as appointed by his friends, but Chase has been "Mission Leader" since he was twelve years old (he says twelve in some bionic island episode, but I don't remember which one. at the very least he's been mission leader since he was fourteen) and as late as elite force he's still attached to that title. If something were to go down, both Chase and Kendall would try to resume the position of "leader" and they would inevitably clash. Kendall is more easygoing than Chase is. Chase is very by the book and calculated, so Kendall's more chaotic methods of leading would get on his nerves. They wouldn't hate each other, but it would take time for them to learn to compromise.

As much as Kendall loves his little sister, I can see this exchange clearly:

Bree: I need a sister. Kendall: You want mine? Katie: Hey! Kendall: I'm kidding!

but anyway, I can see Kendall and Bree getting along well. Maybe Bree has a little crush and they go on a few dates, but they realize they work better as friends. Either way, Bree is feminine but can still kick Kendall's ass (which Kendall seems to be drawn to; re: Jo and probably also Lucy). They go to hockey games together after they had to tell Adam he wasn't allowed to go with them anymore (he got too hyped and his plasma grenades glitched...in an arena...).

There's more combinations of character dynamics, but I've already typed so much and I can't think of much for the rest of them right now.

First, I want to say thank you for all you do to keep the So Weird fandom alive. I know many of us are silent fans because, though we love the show, it's difficult to find much new to say at this point. Second, I know that a So Weird revival is unlikely (which is a shame, because I genuinely think it could be really good, unlike so many of the revivals that have already been done), but I was wondering if you had any plot ideas of your own for a potential revival. Just for fun of course.

Maybe you had no idea when you wrote this, but you sent this at the perfect time. I was dealing with some drama behind the scenes (nothing serious and it's over now) that made me wonder if I take So Weird too seriously and should ease up on the effort to keep up with it all. Then I logged in to find your message and it was validating - a reassurance, if you will. So thank you, too.

As far as my own plot ideas… I'm not sure if you meant for one-off episodes or one that's part of the bigger plot, so I'll answer both.

I once read about ghosts in the aftermath of natural disasters (think the New Orleans hurricane and Japanese tsunami). The ghosts (previously living people) don't know they're dead but are able to flag down taxis. Drivers would accept them but once at the destination no one was in the car anymore to pay the tab. Other instances include riders saying street names and towns that no longer existed or had been abandoned after evacuation. Cab companies reportedly stay out of certain areas because of this, and it would make a great So Weird episode.

I would love for Fi to meet a group of witches around her age who practice witchcraft. Fi spends so much time with her brother and "shared" friends and the one time we saw Candy it was mostly about Rick. I want Fi to experience some sisterhood bonding with people who get her. But if Disney wanted to do a Hocus Pocus crossover that could work too.

Other episode ideas - the boys go to a haunted house that is actually haunted, a retelling of The Monkey's Paw, spotting the loch ness monster, a Disney-friendly version of saying "Candyman" or "Bloody Mary", Molly is a guest performer on a historical ship as paranormal happenings ensue.

In terms of the bigger plot, I'd love a two-part episode where Molly and the gang go to Europe. It would be a special event like a lifetime achievement award for Papa Bear or a PKB Hall of Fame induction.

While exploring the area Fi discovers fairies who "know" she's met a will o' the wisp. (Not sure how this would be, maybe how the banshee acted toward her?) It's a parallel to Jack following Bricriu, but this time she's lead to a leprechaun.

Her ring keeps him at a distance, almost as a protection barrier, and he wants nothing to do with Fi until she makes a comment about a gold award her family/family friend is getting. He's intrigued, and after looking at her closer, mistakes her for another Fiona, even remarks they haven't seen each other in ages.

Fi says something like, "Fiona's my great-grandmother" (yes, another parallel) and the fella runs off, reappears, and runs off again as she tries to question it. Exasperated, Fi says something to the extent of, "You remind me of someone too." And his response is a serious, "Yes, but you knew that didn't you?"

And this baffles Fi to no end - the realization that her great-grandma knew what was going to happen? Was the other Fiona destined to save the world, too? Did she fail and that's why it's on Fi now? And if she doesn't complete it then future generations in her bloodline will have to try? Who knows!

All through this Jack can't enjoy the trip. Poor guy's having massive headaches (like the people in Memory because this special is full of callbacks) cause he's living his current life in the location that overlaps with his past life as a knight. Dude keeps dreaming of the Strangeling events he experienced with Fi and also of an older lady named Fiona who he would recognize if he wasn't in so much pain.

None of this has been researched so the mythology might be off, but that's what I came up with to your question and hopefully it was fun to read. Thank you for writing!

I've come to vent about my relationship with Rozin of all things. I must warn that this is NOT anti Rozin confession! There's literally nothing wrong with this ship, but...

For a long time I thought it was the only genuinely good and interesting ship out of all ATLA and LOK ships. Despite having little to no screen time, I was nevertheless hooked by Roku's and Sozin's dynamic. And how could I not? Childhood friends turned into bitter enemies with all the angst and heartbreak it entails? *chief kiss* Rozin just had that kick that other ships didn't have to me. I mean it in the nicest way possible, but everything just felt bland and boring in comparison. Most likely because I'm a drama queen who loves screwed up stuff. In my head and private notes, I would make Rozin WORSE, I would add things that didn't happen in canon, that would NEVER happen in canon, that would plunge those two into a new dark abyss I made just for them. In my head and private notes, I would make Rozin BETTER, I would give Roku and Sozin a chance to reconcile, to learn from one another, to finally have a relationship they couldn't have in canon. I would come up with crazy AUs, one of them even became a baseline for my main crossover story.

I mean it genuinely that this ship was IT for me. And it was like that for 5 years...

Until it just... Wasn't anymore.

The overall ATLA fandom, unfortunately, doesn't share my sentiment. The arts and fics and hell even meta posts that would examine Roku and Sozin's relationship was extremely rare. All those things I did with Rozin privately ? That was basically all that I had. I kid you not, Rozin felt more like a fandom joke, than an actual ship. The ship tag was clogged with the same repetitive "haha, Roku and Sozin were exes" "haha, Roku and Sozin were gay" shit. A joke that was repeated over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over. With no changes, no new punchline. It was funny the first couple of times, then it lost the punch, then it became annoying and then... those jokes became enraging. I was becoming SICK of them.

I would much rather have there be no new Rozin posts, than the ship tag being cluttered with. the. same. shitty. unfunny. repetitive. joke. At least the lack of content would motivate me to actually share the AUs and hcs I made in private. It would be a challenge, a drive. But, the fandom is dead set on seeing them as "just angsty exes, lol".

Oh, but that's not why I decided to write here. You know what I'm about to say. The upcoming Roku centric book, that, of course has scenes that are almost hand-crafted to pander to Rozin shippers.

I know I should be excited. I should be happy. My ship is finally getting attention! Getting official interaction since, what? Over a decade of NOTHING?

But, I felt nothing.

At first.

Then, when I realized that I felt nothing I felt... rage? Sadness? Despair?

I used to LOVE Rozin. What happened? I should be excited. Why am I not?

It has been 5 years of that. Of Rozin being worse than nothing. Not even a ship, but an inside joke among ATLA fans. I would've been fine if the book interactions contradicted my hcs, I would just make new ones or change the old ones a little. But, I got tired. At this point, I feel nothing for the ship. Maybe annoyance. I definitely think I don't like it now. And it's sad. It's almost tragic.

I love Roku and Sozin as characters. And I used to love shipping them, as another way to explore and study them as characters. But now, I think, I will just block Rozin tag and dismiss any ship context if I do happen to start posting my ATLA fan art again and people would ask of I shipped them or not. I don't. Not anymore. If you really want a ship content with them, well, I suppose I have my OC x Roku ship, but, I'm certain no one would be interested in that, so I'll just keep it to myself.

Sorry for the long rant. Sorry that it sounds so dramatic or pathetic. But, I feel better after writing everything here. Maybe I can finally leave this all behind.

would tie pat's hair into a korn ponytail in the entire first episode except for the "lying down, looking at the stars" scene. very girlypop of him to have his hair down when it's time for bed ❤️ only in the BBS only episode though, because his hair length and style in Pha Pun Dao is noticeably different (ahem since obviously ohmnanon filmed those scenes secretly first, then bad buddy weeks later ahem). it's shorter and better looking

patpran would've kissed in all of the first three interrupted scenes (deepa wrote about one of it btw and i'm accepting this as headcanon now thank you) and wouldn't have the kiss in the ATOTS only episode of the crossover

for instance: when pat pecks pran on the lips in the mosquito net scene, pran doesn't aggressively push him away and scold him. instead, he breaks the kiss off by putting his hands on pat and pulls away from him slightly, does his Episode 12 Eye Rolling™️ fond facial expression, snorts, and says, "Not you, idiot." i'll keep the fact that pat plays it off and claims that he got carried away, but pran remains standing there by the corner with a challenging and smug look on his face. it takes pat approximately 3 seconds before realizing: oh? pat smirks and kisses him right there—

would've removed the shirtless phuphapat scene or shortened it because the joke was getting too long to the point where it was uncomfortable and it felt objectifying

while finding pran and tian, phupha stops pat from stepping on a snail as a more subtle 1000 stars callback. pat finds that behavior cute and soft which is yes. absolute yes. tsundere phupha supremacy. this idea >>>>> pat sniffing trees (courtesy of @pranpats) (listen listen listen. there are ridiculous jokes and then there was whatever that was.)

pran comes out of this tent with multiple hickies. pat, too. tian teases him about it and he flushes because he didn't notice. pran glares at pat who's just grinning ear to ear and while pran tries to cover it up, pat just walks around flaunting it.

they don't get lost in the woods because phupha is a forest ranger who has known his way around for nearly/over a decade

okay ik it was integral to the plot though so this has saving grace. alternatively, they get lost in the woods but only once and here is where tian and pran / pat and phupha get to Talk. (broke: pran = tian, pat = phupha. WOKE: pran = phupha, pat = tian.) we explore a layer of phupha's characterization here that was not explored much in the original 10 eps of 1000stars since they don't get together until the last ending, so pat providing phupha a tian-esque clarity of recklessness + raw honesty + insufferable youth behavior and making him learn how other couples' situations operate and how that relates to how he's been behaving. in other words, phupha discovers patpran's family rivalry (a great segue as to how 1000stars fans who have never watched bbs can briefly learn about the story just like how they introduced the play for bbs fans who have never watched 1000stars. the lack of reciprocation felt really one-sided 🙁) because pat is a chatterbox. not to be reductive, but patpran's sort of secrecy could really shake phupha because "phuphatian have it a little easier. they're different." bla bla bla phupha learns communication better,,,,, meanwhile pran has an epiphany from tian about compromises and reflects on his own behavior from there.

i thought they were going with that route so it was a bit disappointing to see that it wasn't explored enough

there was genuinely a very sweet vibe/aura around here. objectively speaking i think it would've been great if there was kiss here. conveys sincerity that pran cannot vocalize enough, reassures pat's secret insecurities. also it's overall a visually pretty and romantic scene. something tells me in my gut that... lmao nevermind.

also pat puts on pran's watch instead of pran putting it on himself

gASPPP imagine that before this ^ scene, there will be a scene of patpran waking up together that parallels the beginning of episode 2 of them waking up separately and doing their morning routine in their dorms. they do another morning routine montage except now they're side by side. well, almost. pran gets out of bed and turns off the alarm... while pat doesn't. pran goes back to him a couple of times to wake him up but he just grumbles. pran considers kicking him awake but slyly yells "okay i'm gonna go take a bath~!" pat is just "mmm. 'kay." pran pauses and goes, "hm? kay? you don't want to join me?" pat springs up from the mat.

tian wouldn't have felt like such a damsel in distress with everyone constantly taking care of him. we know he's reckless and constantly forgets to take his meds, but to the point of not keeping at least one on him is a little much

(this isn't for people who don't like that other fans disliked the special btw, especially 1000stars fans. because tbh if it weren't for the proposal, we felt really screwed over. :DD good for some bbs fans that they liked the crossover, really hashtag blessed for them, but i'm all for the to each their own here.)

Yes! There might be a few times I forget to, especially on old fics, but I always try to. They genuinely make my day and keep me motivated, so I want to say thank you!

What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Probably I'm No Good at Aiming (Boardwalk Empire, Benny/Meyer) I was a lot more committed to pure angst writing in Boardwalk fandom because the show was so dark. Now that I'm into rpf I still love angst, but I always try to give them a happy ending. (I realize that my Boardwalk fic was also partly gangster rpf, but I guess I wasn't as attached to happy endings because gangsters? Or maybe I've just gone soft.)

What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Probably I Don't Care Too Much. It's a very sweet and hopeful ending.

Do you get hate on fics?

I haven't yet thankfully. Although when I get a comment from that one troll that pops up on Mclennon fic every so often, I'll know I've made it!

Do you write smut?

I didn't until I got into The Beatles and J/P! I used to be a little uncomfortable writing it, and usually just had a steamy makeout session or fade to black. But something about those two idiots just gave me the bug and now I plan on including smut in all my fic.

Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

I never did, though I had an idea for an overly complex Star Wars/Boardwalk Empire AU back in the day.

No but I think it would be fun!

What's your all-time favorite ship?

John Lennon/Paul McCartney. It's infected my brain and taken over my soul. And it's the only thing to get me back into writing after years AND to get me writing smut.

What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

I have some fun Good Omens ficlets that I never published because they are just dialogue. I just doubt I'll ever get around to them again.

What are your writing strengths?

I always find it way easier to write dialogue than anything else. Sometimes my very early drafts just look like scripts with no description added yet.

What are your writing weaknesses?

I think it comes out okay, and I've gotten better at it, but I find writing descriptions and internal monologues difficult. I often get frustrated trying to get my characters from points A to B. I always get bored writing anything but action and dialogue. I used to think I would like to be a screenwriter for this reason.

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I wrote some lines in Yiddish for Boardwalk Empire fic, but I always ran them by my Yiddish-speaking friend to make sure they made sense. I also had a few French lines in I Don't Care Too Much, but they were mostly spoken by non-French speaking characters so I worried less about them. I don't think I'd try writing more than a few lines without a native speaker's input though.

First fandom you wrote for?

Good Omens! I wrote some fluffy Aziraphale/Crowly ficlets but I never published them.

Favorite fic you've written?

I think probably Was I So Unwise. It holds a special place in my heart as my first fic in eight years. It's for last year's Beatles Secret Santa, which I associate with the first time I really joined the community of the Beatles fandom, and it's hurt/comfort, one of my favorite subgenres!

I'm gonna be honest since he was a teenager(?) in his last statement I thought he'd be only a little older in this one, and didn't realize until he referenced "the 80s" for the third time.

I know the timelime doesn't work out but I'd love a "crossover" episode with Trevor, Gerard Key and Melanie? (the youtuber) teaming up to hunt spooky shit. Bonus points if a completely normal, random and unrelated person gets caught up in their shenanigans, so Jon is sifting through this random statement where the "weird shit" appears to be three people who all seem to be familiar? But it couldn't be, could it, last time we saw Gerard Key he'd been in italy, and they all work alone and - then Melanie posts an episode about them on her show and the entire Archive office just sits around the monitor, having their headcanons about these horror hunters entirely destroyed by them making funny faces into the camera before they start murdering people and hunting books (not necessarily in that order). (Damn I don't want to write fic before I'm done with the show but I realllllly want to write this fic now).

Anyway. I love, love his story.

This episode is also fuel to the "Everything is Connected" Board, since Trevor managed to take out one of the Jane Prentiss-like bug hives, and I'm glad Jon has finally gotten around to admitting that Trevor may have been on to something. I know Jon was largely pretending to be a sceptic in season 1, or so he claims, but Trevor was THE stand out "unreliable narrator" back then. Addicted to several drugs, homeless, young, traumatized, one would not run out of excuses to claim Trevor was a lying murderer. And that there was NONE of that this episode, even though the entire first half of it depicts Trevor murdering an innocent man by his own account! That's huge! I love this shift in the narrative. Back then the question was "Is there something going bump in the night?" but by now it's "How are the things going bump in the night connected to the spooky shit in our basement?". I have a feeling the point of escalation will become "(How) Can we kill the thing going bump in the night?" and if Jon's and Sasha's ... "corruption" arcs are any indication, "Are we the thing going bump in the night? (And can we still kill it anyway?)"

Apropos of Jon's "corruption" arc.

Do they, though, do they?

Yes, Martin has been keeping a secret. Like I called, it's completely innoucious - or at least, unrelated to the murder case (vindication!).

Yes, Not-Sasha has been acting strangely except Jon didn't pick up on most of the actual strangeness and instead focused on - for example - her lunch break dates. Which sure! Could be fake! Or she's genuinely found a friend and is comtemplating life in a wax museum, who am I to judge. (I am finding myself getting fond of Not-Sasha, which is uncool, since I fully expect her to turn out evil by the end of the season the latest). None of which, btw, link her to the murder mystery.

Jon has absolutely NOTHING on Tim and Elias. Elias is as much a murder suspect as any of them simply by proxy (and having had arguably the most opportunity (and motivation, should my 'the institute demands human sacrifices to the horrors' theory be right, but that's pure unfounded speculation)). The only mystery Jon has on Tim is his goddamn work motivation.

Jon. Jon. Someone's birthday is not considered a secret just because you refuse to ask them about it. It's frankly insane that Jon is willing to go so far as to stalk his coworkers instead of just asking them basic and inane questions about their lifes! Yes sure, they could be lying, but you're not even giving them any opportunity to lie to you, since you refuse to talk to them! Nevermind that you've been lying too between the stalking and the pretend relationship and the increased paranoia.

Yeah so, I don't think it's a coincidence a good chunk of this episode is dedicated to someone convinced that they are doing something right just to realize they have been tunneling badly and are actually wrong. Trevor didn't realize until his victim was dead, whereas Jon did finally manage to just ask and get out of this one bad tunnel. I have a feeling that's not the end of the spiral for Jon, though.

I dare say Martin could be a potential alley for Jon in all this, since he's the only one Jon still willingly talks to (oh how the turns have tabled!) and hasn't - somehow - completely alienated with his bullshit. Although I believe Martin will struggle on whether to side with Jon through his mania or with his coworkers - or maybe even with himself, and finally standing up to Jon's bullshit. I'd love to see it. Did he always say "sorry" so often? I think he apologized four times this episode, which is incredible considering his short screen time. I think he may be genuinely intimidated by Jon. Although that could have just been because Jon was onto him, I feel like Martin seems to have... curled up on himself a bit this season. I remember him not taking quite as much of Jon's shit in season 1, but these days he's really just ducking his head.

Which brings me to the last point of this: Martin's secret: ahahahahahahah I love it so much.

As funny as I think it is - and I think it would have been even funnier if we knew what age Martin is pretending to be in the first place - his story gets sadder the more you think about it? He admitted his mother starting having problems and he dropped out of school to support them - considering that was apparently 12 years ago, and I assume his mother's struggles were health related somehow - I feel confident assuming she is indeed dead.

Martin was writing venty letters to his dead mother while he was trapped at his place of work because he was being stalked by flesh eating worms but also terrified that said place of work would find out about his real identity, probably throwing him back into poverty again with even fewer prospects - especially if they'd reported him to the police. No wonder he doesn't seem to have a social life, either.

Yeah okay, I'd feel meek under these circumstances too, and considering how put-together Martin seemed in season 1, I'd say he's officially a certified badass.

Man, if I had a nickle every time there was a main character who was once under siege by a supernatural entity trapping him in isolation, and who faked his paranatural work credentials and kept lying about it to his coworker, who happens to be a bit of an anti-social shut in, I'd have two nickels.

a random thought: I made this post the other day but Priest/Pharoah Seto is in the afterlife, right? The afterlife Kaiba walked into. That’s gonna be a fun encounter.

An unpopular opinion: Mai is in her twenties at least, idk why they decided to give her a romantic subplot with a 16 year old. It’s Bad.

My Canon OTP: If Thief doesn’t count, I do like Peach. (They like each other, at least.)

My Non-canon OTP: Angsthipping!

Most Badass Character: You could make an argument for damn near anybody, but first one to come to mind is Marik ‘wrenched back control and survived a shadow game with a single life point WHILE telling his dark side to piss off’ Ishtar.

Most Epic Villain: *Insert any gif of Yami Marik doing the tongue thing here* (Thief King is a close runner up)

Pairing I am not a fan of: See the above with Joey/Mai

Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): HOO BOY DID RYOU AND THIEF KING GET SHAFTED BIG TIME

Favourite Friendship: Yugi and Joey’s friendship is so sweet, I love how they learn and grow from each other.

Character I most identify with: Everybody can be Projection Central depending on the day but it seems like right now I’m more feeling with Ryou, although Marik’s a close second.

Character I wish I could be: NOBODY, EVERYBODY GOES THROUGH SO MUCH SHIT. Maybe Honda, he goes through the least crap I think besides the monkey thing in the virtual world arc, but he’s still part of the group.

PUZZLESHIPPING

When I started shipping them: I don’t remember, but it was during the first time I was really getting into yugioh, about three years ago. It was during the anime watch, though.

My thoughts: Can you say soulmates? They help each other learn and grow, and are about as close as two people can be. I binged all of season 4 in like two days one spring break and didn’t even realize how weird and not good it was until afterwards because I was caught in Puzzle Feelings.

What makes me happy about them: They care about and help each other so much, and the growth over the series is amazing.

What makes me sad about them: *sustained sobbing over ceremonial duel*

Things done in fanfic that annoys me: Mmmmm surprisingly I don’t read that much puzzlefic? I don’t like when people overuse aibou, though- partner sounds just as good, maybe even better.

Things I look for in fanfic: Pretty much what I look for in canon- they complete each other, and are equals. (Plus flustered Atem and confident Yugi. Atem freaked out at the possibility of a date, Yugi openly swaps porn tapes with Joey in the schoolyard. He’s not the innocent one.)

My wishlist: I wish Atem had gotten to grow up, whether with Yugi or not. He didn’t seem to really want to go to the afterlife, just thought it was his duty.

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: I like Flare (Both of them with Kaiba) but I’d also like Pride and Heart or Wish to be endgame.

My happily ever after for them: Ceremonial duel happens, Atem gets to see his family, but then they sense turmoil within his soul and promise that they’ll be waiting when he’s ready to actually join them. He rushes back into Yugi’s arms, still in his pharoah clothes and with his original body, and gets piled into the biggest group hug of his life.

He still lives with the Mutous, and stays on the Duel Monsters circuit, although he might branch out to other games. Him and Yugi work together with Kaiba to develop more games, and he stays in contact with the Ishtars to fill in as many gaps about his reign as possible. 

They grow old together, and when they’re ready, walk into the afterlife arm in arm.

ATEM

How I feel about this character: I LOVE HIM. His development over the series from smug bastard to genuine leader is great, and even though it’s not written the best, I LOVE the memory world arc. He saw that Yugi was a ray of kindness and sunshine and was just ‘yes, I want to be more like that.’

Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: Yugi, Kaiba, Ryou, Mana, Joey, Anzu, and Thief King (to an extent).

My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: I love what he has with Kaiba, romantic or not. I saw it described as something that both pushes him to be the best he can be, and the one relationship he doesn’t have to share with Yugi. I also kind of like how Mokuba sort of nudges him to keep his older bro in line.

My unpopular opinion about this character: Boy is NOT the ‘top’ in a relationship. Take out the card games and he is a flustered dork.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: LET HIM STAY IN THE WORLD OF THE LIVING. HE DESERVES A CHANCE TO LIVE.

Favorite friendship for this character: Either Yugi or Joey!

My crossover ship: Don’t really have one, but did toy a bit with an idea forever ago about Bill Cipher from Gravity Falls having something to do with the Millennium Items.
