i do think sinkdog became popular because it's kind of an easy to understand and digest 'weirdness' part of furry art. there's much more 'weird' art even from the og artist but sinkdog i think is just much more easy to understand and relate to for furries. maybe its even like an entry point to understanding 'oh, there's this genuine and weird part of furry art that i can explore actually!'. there are many many furry artists making extremely weird and unpalatable and hard to understand or relate to art. a lot of them if not the majority never get any attention because most people don't know how to react except 'what the fuck even is that and why was this created?'.

i think there's a lot of furry art that's very unpalatable and may not even appeal to me in any way but still im glad it exists! im glad theres these artists on dA or fA that just create hundreds of pieces of their furry characters having 4 legs and wearing ski shoes for no reason. or making collages of characters to add hundreds of extra bodies and body parts to them. i admire the ability to do actually weird shit very very few people can understand at all. my own tastes are pretty boring but seeing art like that makes me really ruminate and think about doing more stuff that's 'out there'

i would love for 'weird' parts of furry to become more popular. and i do mean weird!!!
