Medic x Reader with Intrusive Thoughts - Headcannons (Romantic intended but I dunno)

Warnings : Intrusive thoughts

I reckon that Medic himself deals with intrusive thoughts. Although he's been dealing with them for so long that he's just learnt to push them out of his head and focus on something else like feeding and playing with his doves.

Actually, it's either that or they make him just as paranoid and scared as you which leads to self destructive behaviour. He's quite clearly lost his mind so it's hard to predict him and his responses.

Either way, if you have bad intrusive thoughts, he's softer than usual. He'd yell a lot less and be a little calmer to try make you less scared.

He likes holding you when you're freaking out a little because the intrusive thought hit you and he absolutely hates to see you in pain because you mean quite literally everything to this man.

He'd encourage you to tell him what the thought was about but he knows from personal experience that it can be hard to share things like that so he would barely push it and just make it a suggestion.

Medic is not a judgemental man. He's done a lot of bad things and he's aware of that and just doesn't care. So he makes it clear to you that your intrusive thoughts are not something alien and he won't be disgusted by them, knowing that they're just uncontrollable thoughts.

He spends most of his time around you after you tell him that you have intrusive thoughts because he hopes that his presence is comforting enough to atleast help you be less paranoid.

He makes it clear that he knows that you'd never do anything that you're thinking because you're kind despite probably also working as a mercenary with him but if you're not working as a mercenary then he'd still tell you that because he adores you.

He'd do anything he could to comfort you and make you less paranoid. He always offers his help and will make sure that he's always near you so that you can come to him if you need some comfort.

Medic seems like a total maniac and he is in a way but that doesn't mean that he doesn't care about you. He'd do anything to make you feel safe and happy because you make him feel safe and happy <3

fans of Jak and Daxter, I need help!

I have access to Inkarnate, and i keep seeing people attempt to cobble together the various maps from the games and try to make sense of it, so i figure I'd try out my version, and I'd LOVE some feedback!

PLACES

HAVEN CITY/SANDOVER

WASTELANDS/SPARGUS [Desert Island, apparently??]

KRAS CITY [never played Jak X, concept art has it as a Floating City on water, has to be far enough from a coast to be safe from metal heads, but close enough for Krew to operate in both Haven and Kras regularily?]

Icelands [again, in Jak X, only seen via race track? most people put it far north, but feasibly, it would also have to be close to Kras for the Grand Prix Race thingy. If my map building goes as it is, perhaps it is actually far South? Antartic vs Arctic? COULD also be West of the Precursor Legacy, via the snowy area off of the Lava Village place]

INITIAL THOUGHTS

KRAS CITY IS DIRECTLY EAST, OFF THE COAST OF WHAT USED TO BE ROCK VILLAGE. EARLY MATERIALS/STUDY OF THE FLOATING CITY CAME FROM THE FLOATING BIT OF THE LOST PRECURSOR CITY.

ICELANDS are a Maurader territory atop the same mountains that we originally see the Yeti Babak in from JaD:tPL. The Babak village up there is gone? trading with the Marauders? dont know yet. ICELANDS are up along the spine of that mountain area!

BABAK VILLAGE should probably be moved closer to Haven! where ever it ends up it should also determine where the Eco Mine will be! [also potentially close to the original Blue Eco Temple on the other side of Sandover? I know those are Eco Vents, but its still an area with an over flow of Eco? dunno, theres not much room there for more things XD

I put SPARGUS/WASTELANDS to the far west of both the ICELANDS Mountains and Haven for three reasons!

A La using Australia as a 'prison colony / exile' via the british, you wouldnt Exile people somewhere close by, even if it IS an island? (pls correct me if that's wrong btw) Spargus SHOULD be far from Haven, and it makes sense that you'd need an 'air train' or whatever they call it in the games, to get there, beyond it just being an Island

the ruins from the city that you run around anc corral Reapers in! I have it between the Marauder Colony/Strong hold and the general area where they came from to give reason to why it failed! I don't know the canon around that ruin, but i like the idea that it was a Spargan Colony that fell to Marauders a long time ago, BUT was avenged years later, and the Marauders were forced further into the desert, cut off from their home land after losing that area. It's particularily dangerous to travel, and also why not a lot of people travel past the center volcano, or to the temple in the South East of the Wastelands!

the Catacombs/Subrail thing! please correct me if im wrong! but you enter the Subrail from the Catacombs of said beforehand mentioned temple! and those catacombs/subrail connect to haven, going in a West to Eastern direction, under the mountains, in my little world now!

HAVEN IS HUGE - like, no matter how you put it, Haven is a MASSIVE area??? like, this is wild to me! it makes a little more sense if you consider it a massive area that was claimed by Mar and his Acolytes? (no idea if that's canon) and then the city was built within the walls.

There's potentially to much space between Haven and the Mountain range to its west, and Spargus. [It could all be Metal head infested jungle? But that's on the opposite side of where I head canon the Metal Head Nest to be. The Rift Gate is originally found in the Citadel, but is moved to Sandover for the start of Jak 2, however, this doesnt make sense during the game itself, so i believe that the Metal Head leader (Kor, probably) after emerging 300 years in the past through the gate and wreaking havoc, moved it to the new location that we find during Jak 2. I like to think that the Metal Head nest was moved *back to* Gol and Maia's Citadel [Dark Eco Silo nearby, YUM!], and Mar's Gun, built with the salvaged remains of the gun that helps you get to Klaww, is moved closer, but is unable to be moved. HOWEVER, that puts everyone WAY outside the Walls of Haven, So. I dont actually know at the moment! I'd LOVE feedback please and thank you! gimme ideas that I can use to modify and add to the map, throw headcanons at me, discuss where the Wastelands adn Kras should be, and what sizes they should be?

I love this game series and I wanted to be able to flesh out where exactly everything is in the world out of shear curiosity! [Yes, the clouds are a hint at the areas in the Game-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named, The concept of that area is *way* to cool to ignore it!]

Oof this got way longer than I meant it to. um, i just want to preface this real quick- i dunno if you enjoy criticism on your fanfic? i hope that doesn't come across as rude or anything, i just know for a lot of people fanfic just isn't really the time or place for critique and that's obviously totally valid. i feel like i'm making a mess of this lmao. but basically feel free to just ignore this if you'd like. i just have some thoughts about ur work that i kinda wanted to share.

So i have a question about the eldritch au that's... not really constructive criticism only because the series isn't finished? Idk if that makes any sense but basically I was wondering if we'll get to see anyone other than the chain being freaked out by Wild? I ask because i was thinking after meeting Malon in Eldritch Ranch that like... everyone Wild's been introduced to *other* than the Chain seems to just be fine with him? Like, it was Sun, then it was Ravio, and now Malon... it's sort of starts to feel like the chain is just the only ones who have a problem with him?

And I mean, it's not like any of these characters being okay with Wild doesn't make sense or anything- Sun, obviously, has her own eldritch shit going on; Ravio is from a dark world; all the people in Wild's hyrule presumably are used to him (I'm also theorizing that the calamity was like... lightly corrupting, just enough to make the folks in wild's hyrule more resistant to his aura); even with Malon, I actually really like the idea of her, as proto-Malanya, also having her own sort of eldritch vibes.

I guess what I'm trying to get across is that it just feels a bit odd that literally every time the chain has introduced Wild to someone else that someone else has been All Good With The Eldritch Aura, Actually. BUT, because the series is still unfinished, I don't know if that's a purposeful thing or not yet. It's entirely possible that we will meet some other folks who get freaked out by wild, or it will turn out that maybe the chain actually are just particularly sensitive to wild's brand of Fuckery. maybe they're extra aware of it for hero's spirit reasons? Triforce reasons? i dunno! anyways i want to take this time to re-emphasize how much i enjoy eldritch malon. because, you know, Hell Fucking Yes. Many well wishes to u <3

Lately I've had a few people speak to me and give feedback on my work in a way that I can only describe as...I dunno...a bit unprofessional?

I know I make jokes and stream and post memes and make weird art and whatnot, but ultimately I do hope people realize that I do my best to treat my work and those who interact with it professionally and I always prefer that other people did the same in kind. I think people will try to like, crack jokes or sound non-chalant when speaking about my stuff or to me like I'm some kind of high-school buddy or something, but half the time it's someone I've barely ever interacted with before who I straight up don't know very well, and it often ends up feeling just very off-putting and borderline rude.

Like making games is fun but also this is very much my job, people - please talk to me like you'd be talking to a coworker and not your best friend. 🤨

first of all, please ignore (even delete) this if you're not in the mood because half of this'll be essentially just a rant, sorry. a positive one, but a rant nonetheless. i just wanna share with someone, preferably someone who knows what i'm talking about/what i mean. also please tell me if you don't want me to appear in your ask box like this ever again.

second of all, i wanna apologize for not writing you back, i just fucking forgot (seems to be a reoccuring theme with us ig). but if you wanna, i'd like to continue the conversation, especially that i haven't even heard about the second guy.

third of all, not to make you even more jealous but i think that our creative writing professor is a fucking genius. like holy shit.

the whole class i was adhd-ing so hard (so maybe having it doubled is not that good for my brain, oops - especially that we talk a lot and, well, listen to each other a lot and it requieres focus. anyway). i was fidgeting through the whole class and i think i hit the chair next to me like ten times and i wanted to scream because i was sure i was annoying, visible and sometimes even somewhat loud about it and eh. thankfully, we had a ten minute break and i think it was somewhat better after that.

but! onto the positive part! i was last to read and it gave me some anxiety beforehand but i really enjoyed reading and i think i said things nicely plus the feedback and i was very quickly in a good mood aaaand dopamine lol. then we played a game which was nice and also game!!

and then he said what we have to do for the next class which is esentially a retelling (any mythology, any type and even like any time-period? as in you can write the story again, like the song of achilles or place it in modern day or whatever. so like. how cool is that???) and here comes my fav part because i have been planning an orpheus and eurydice retelling with simon and adalaine for a while and i plan that as a big project, like a full book preferably but. still. i get to work with that! and i get to work with simon and adalaine! for my creative writing class!! absolutely losing my shit

anyway if you'd have an exercise like this what do you think, what would you write?? i'm so curious (i'm just generally so interested in the topic of retellings. like they're so cool). also if you wanna write it, i'd love to read it.

also curious about what do you think, what work of yours would you read out loud to get to know your writing at a class like this/at a writing club or smth?

Tbh I'm not much of a reteller-type - don't get me wrong I get feral about stories that manage to both acknowledge their roots and the fact that they are a different story to those roots, my current fav series for instance does a phenomenal job at this imo - I just personally prefer to tell original stories bc I feel I dunno, less limited? Still if I had to choose it would probably be Icarus's story, I know not the most original but the concept has me screaming crying foaming at the mouth and a lot of my little guys could fit into the story almost frighteningly well. Then again as much fun as talking abt my guys in an academic setting sounds like I'd probably be insufferable 😂

I'm not sure if I have works I'd be comfy reading in front of a class lol, most of what I already have is either unfinished/unedited or a 20k fic on ao3. but if I absolutely had to choose it'd probably be this one bc 1) it combines all my fav parts of writing (poetic wording, dark themes, utterly incomprehensible metaphors...) and 2) it's short so it won't take me ages to read it out loud lol

anyway don't feel bad for not answering you know exactly how my own short term memory works (hint: it doesn't) lmao. it doesn't count if we're both shit at replying to each others' stuff that just means were even 😂 (but seriously though I really don't mind I know how sometimes the brain just does a backflip unprompted)

"Oh babe! Can we please keep him?" Eddie said giving you the best puppy dog eyes he could muster, followed by his eyelashes batting. The animal in question he was asking to keep was a baby bunny.

"Look at him, he's so cute!" He said with the black and white spotted bunny in his arms. Eddie found it on the side of the road with no trace of a mother, looking all scared and confused. So he took him back to you're shared apartment.

Cleaned him up, fed him, and waited for you to come back home. Hence why you were now standing before Eddie as he was presenting the bunny to you, begging to keep him.

"I dunno babe. I already have to take care of you and now you wanna add a bunny to the mix?" You joked in a soft tone, whereas Eddie held the bunny up to his face and looked at it offended that you'd said that.

"Did you hear that? You heard what your mommy said?" Eddie said putting emphasis on the 'mommy', that bastard. God he was gonna be the death of you. It was when you saw Eddie being all fatherly to the bunny, you caved.

"Okay! We can keep him! On one condition, you have to watch all my favorite movies with me for a week straight."

"Yes! You hear that little man? Mommy's gonna let Daddy keep you." Eddie smiled victoriously, probably tuning everything else out from the moment he heard you say yes.

Now let's fast foward a bit, Eddie has bought this bunny EVERYTHING. A cage, food bowls, toys, a carrier, and even a dog bed. He named him.

Eddie loves the little bunny so much he even cuddles with him. Being as gentle as possible. Eddie loves the interactions he's seen you and the bunny have aswell. You've definitely caught your favorite moments of with the bunny on camera.

Sometimes you two joke that the little guy is trying to steal Eddie away from you.

But, like I said, all jokes. You three have so much fun together. Like a little family, it makes you think about the near future where you and Eddie might have children.

A/N: This was written for @fandom-and-feminism and @fadingcoast 's MCUvsBSB Writing Challenge! My song was Crawling Back To You by our very own lovely Backstreet Boys, with my character being Bucky. I strongly recommend listening to that song while you read, because it's amazing (as are all of their songs) and enhances the reading experience, but of course it can be read on it's own! With that being said, this fic was inspired by the song and I chose to use it as the theme, rather that write it in.

A quiet night in meant that you were curled up in your favorite armchair in the living room of your apartment with a comfortable silence lingering in the air, save for the clock ticking on the wall, mere background noise as you read your book.

It was peaceful, your mind quiet of any and all thoughts, completely focused on the romance novel resting in your lap, knees scrunched and your body turned slightly in the large, comfortable chair. That was, until the knock on your door disrupted your solitude. Damn! Just when the story was beginning to get interesting.

A sigh left your lips as you bookmarked your place and set the book down on the table next to you. You stood, slipping your feet into the house slippers on the floor where you left them not thirty minutes before.

Unlocking the door, you pulled it open, fully expecting your annoyingly concerned friend to be standing there, just like he had last Friday night. “Look Steve, I told you--”

But, it wasn't the overly protective supersoldier you called your best friend, it was Bucky. The man who broke your heart just under a month ago.

A tightness filled your chest as you shared his gaze and your first instinct was to run into his arms and take comfort in him, as you did many times before. But this time was different. He wasn't yours anymore. No, you weren't his anymore.

Bucky had abandoned you after the two of you been so happy, so content in your relationship. That's what you'd thought, anyway. You didn't realize just how wrong you were until you uttered those three simple, yet powerful words that ruined it all. His smile no longer reached his eyes and the mood between you had shifted.

“Bucky…” Your mind swirled with questions about why he was standing there at your door. “What are you doing here?”

“Can I come in?”

“No.” The words declining him of his request had flew out of your mouth before you could stop them. Perhaps a but harsh, but given the situation, you had a hard time caring. Anger was creeping in, the bitterness of the whole ordeal resurfacing.

Bucky let out a breath, “Okay, that's fair.” He swallowed, visibly uncomfortable as he shifted his weight onto his other foot. “Can we talk at least?”

You pressed your lips into a thin line, “Oh, you want to talk now? About what, Bucky? Would you like me to tell you how I really feel again so you can leave?”

His forehead creased and the corners of his lips dropped a little. “Doll…”

Your heart clenched at the familiar term of endearment he so fondly used to call you. Tears pricked your eyes and you held them back. “Don't call me that. Don't pretend like nothing happened between us.”

Bucky reached out to touch you, but deciding against it, he dropped his arm to his side with a sigh, looking down at the floor. “I was an idiot, I know that. But if you'll just let me--”

“Let you what? Let you explain why you abruptly walked out of my life after I told you that I loved you? Would you like to explain to me why you ignored me for weeks after countless attempts to contact you?”

“I was an asshole. I-I'm sorry, I--”

“Save it, Bucky. You don't get to just show up here out of the blue after you left me and expect to just say your sorry and all is forgiven.” The tears were flowing now and his eyes were watering, too. But none of that mattered. Not anymore. You were closing this chapter of your life and moving on. Without Bucky.

“Please, just let me--”

“Goodbye Bucky.” You closed the door and locked it, breathing heavily as you turned and leaned against the door. Your chest felt incredibly tight and you thought you would suffocate as you sank down to the floor as the evidence of your sorrow rolled down your cheeks uncontrollably.

That hadn't been the last you'd heard of Bucky. Over the next week, he tried desperately to win you back. He sent flowers to your work, he sent you multiple texts consisting of I'm Sorry, I was wrong, I miss you.

You wanted to be strong, but if you were being honest with yourself, his attempts were wearing on you. The feelings you were working on burying deep and trying to forgets were resurfacing and it terrified you. You were afraid that if you listened to what he had to say, you'd give in and take him back. If you forgave him, would he just do it again? Could you trust him once more?

You were in the middle of that debate with yourself after you stared at Bucky's last text message, when a loud knock on your door startled you out of your thoughts. More came seconds later and you gasped, zetting your phone down on the table so you could go and answer the door quickly.

“What in the world--Bucky? What's going on?” You opened the door, taking in the supersoldier's appearance. His eyes were bloodshot and puffy; his expression sullen.

“I can't do it anymore.” He shook his head, “I can't be apart from you anymore, darlin’, I can't.” His voice cracked and your eyes watered. “You're all I think about. Every day and all night. God, I was stupid to walk away from you!”

You opened your mouth to speak, but he beat you to it, “When you told me that you loved me�� I got scared. My thoughts overwhelmed me and I had so many conflicted feelings.” He sighed, closing his eyes. “So I took off, somewhere far away from here. I didn't tell anyone where I was going, I just… went.” His voice was full of hurt and shame and he opened his eyes to look at you again. “Dumbest thing I ever did. By the time I cleared my head, I realized I fucked up. I missed you so damn much, I couldn't breathe.��� He stepped closer and took your hands in his, causing your heart to hammer in your chest. “That's when I realized that I loved you, too.”

“Bucky…” Your voice wavered, tears spilling down your cheeks.

He pulled you towards him, crushing you against him. “I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. Please take me back. I-I dunno what else to do. Don't wanna be apart from you anymore.” He took a deep breath. “I'll beg you, if you want. I'll get down on my knees and beg.”

You wrapped your arms around him, clutching onto his jacket and crying into the crook of his neck. God, you'd missed him. “Shut up.” You mumbled. “Missed you, too.”

Bucky pulled back to look at you. He cupped your face between his hands and gazed at you with an affectionate smile, wiping the tears on your cheeks. “I love you.” When he pressed his lips to yours, you hadn't realized just how much you missed the feel of him until that moment. You sighed against his lips and held tighter in the embrace, not wanting to let him go.

Bucky guided you backwards, feeling for the door and closing it behind him. You pressed your palms flat against his chest and pushed him gently against the door before wrapping your arms around his neck. As he deepened the kiss, his hands slid around to your lower back, pulling you against him.

Heat coiled low in your belly at the sudden nip at your bottom lip and he pulled back with a grin and nudged your nose with his. “Marry me.” You were about to kiss him again, but you paused.

“What?”

“After being apart from you for just a measly couple of weeks, it drove me crazy. Thought about you every second, dollface. I realized that being with you was the best thing that ever happened to me. Be my wife and I won't let you go ever again. This is my promise to you.”

Your heart swelled and you found yourself nodding. “I'm yours, Bucky.” He kissed you again and you mumbled against his lips, “Always been yours.”

His chest vibrated with joyous laughter and he reached down mid kiss, grabbing the backs of your thighs and hoisting you up into his arms. You wrapped your legs around his waist, giggling as he carried you off to the bedroom.

If there was another game like Live Nikki, what would be some things you'd want to see in it that would, in your opinion, make it better/appeal to a wider audience?

Ah, to be honest, I'm not entirely sure. I'm not a game dev, but I'm gonna answer this as if I were hypothetically making the game.I think if I were to make such a game, I'd spend a lot of time working on it and tweaking it before even thinking about releasing it... (Which LN probably also did, not accusing them of not doing so at all.)See, if I wanted a lot of people to play it, I'd probably start it off by making a social media page for it when I had enough content made to where I could show it off and catch the interest of other players. Which might be literal Hell because as much as I'd love to make it based on feedback from others, not everyone on the internet has amazing suggestions and some of them would probably be extremely repetitive.I do realize the irony as Love Nikki essentially does the same thing.I'm not a game dev so I can give a lot of ideas that I'm sure could only go so far...I think I'd start off with a variety of skin tones, though. Lighter and darker ones since that's what so many people had a problem with since before I had even joined (some time shortly after I did, we got put first dark skin tone). Since Love Nikki offers the ability to craft makeup, I'd probably offer a chance at crafting/modifying different ones that can all look similar but that also don't totally clash with the skin tone simply because the makeup had to be the same. If that makes any sense at all. Because as grateful as I am to have two more makeup options, I have three or four options all together for my character's face if she's a poc as opposed to all the different options she has with lighter tones.I'd also try to come up with more specific searches. It would be a pain and it would take more time, but it is SUPER frustrating once you have a ton of outfits and you just wanna find something red and you can't just look up "red" and find shirts of that colour. Like, it's not a huge deal, but it's also kinda annoying since I already know what I want but I have to scroll and scroll and look through vague categories that might give me what I'm looking for. I feel like that would go a long way. I know there's a "search" option but does anyone really always remember the name.of the clothing item they want immediately? No, not really.Also, since we're on the topic of more specific searches, hairstyle searches, PLEASE. I would try to add categories for "long" or "short" or "pony tails" and so on. Also things like "boots" or "heels" for shoes and "crop tops" or "blouses" for shirts. Though... I know that it would be difficult to have so many category options in one single mobile game so I can't really say I have a problem with LN not having this, it's just an idea.I feel like if I wanted to reference any areas in general, I'd wanna make sure that I was doing as much research as possible and again, I'm not trying to talk badly about LN, but since I live in a country with so many cultures mixed in and that would probably be where everything starts off, I would really wanna make as many outfits for different cultures with at least a decent amount of research done for them. I know that would mean including a TON of different ones but maybe I could start off small? Simple modern day fashion that you see in media already mixed with stuff from other cultures, so.... You can give a girl a hijab and also a pretty shirt and a matching skirt, or... For things like the many wedding events that LN has, one can include traditional wedding attire that isn't just big white poofy dresses... I dunno, I feel like I could list a lot more but I'll say it again, I'm not a game dev and this is only hypothetical so I can't say I have too many ideas for fashion from different cultures but I'm sure if it were a real game in progress, I'd be able to.lost more examples.I'd like to say that there'd be some more flat chested outfit options and maybe even a few makeup options with more masculine features for people who really want that level of customization though I can't help but wonder how well that would turn out and how popular it would be. I'd be down for it if it were an option in a game.Also, more mythical creatures. Elves and mermaidsand whatnot because they're cute.Honestly I'm sure this answer isn't all that great and maybe I don't know what I'm talking about. I don't claim to have better ideas or ways of doing things than the people actually making the game as they actually have to do it and everything I'm talking about is... Well, not real. Buuuuuuuut, if I could have a similar game with any features I wanted magically made, these are a few things I would go for.I hope this was a good enough answer. ^^;
