i love how 99% of conversations with paarthurnax are had mostly with his nostrils
#voxbox#and his teef#skyrim#the paarthurnax/blades 'choice' i think was poorly handled and as a result didn't really feel like this massive grey moral decision#i don't think the arrogance apparently inherent to all dragons was demonstrated enough#the lore (or at least the loading screens) firmly establishes that dragons by nature want to subjugate the mortal races due to the#intrinsic self-importance of dragons. but in game - with a handful of narrative exceptions - dragons are just big animals#only a few talk in game. mostly they just seem to sleep next to their favorite Shout words or whatever until you show up and then#they get touchy. alduin wants to do alduin things sure but. the rest really do just seem lile big lizards establishing their territory#not super-powered self-assured tyrants in the making#all this to say it was kind of laughable when delphine - who has spent most of the time you've known her lying by omission and patronizing#you - was like 'you have to kill paarthurnax.' the game had done absolutely nothing to validate this choice whatsoever#it has done absolutely nothing to legitimize paarthurnax being a threat except the lore - which is barely addressed outside the main quest#i have a lot of opinions about this obviously#maybe i missed a lot of little details - i did tend to rush through bits in my early gaming years - but it just seemed. kind of hollow
