#i don't connect to any of these in any way at all#y'know? i don't think i want an alterhuman flag. for myself i mean#i don't think i want to celebrate my alterhumanity. i think it should just exist undisturbed and we can go about our day#as unenthusiastic business partners shaking hands and falling from the earth into the prismatic greyscale void#never to speak never to see never to breathe never to be#that's what we want from our otherness. that's what it is#regardless i'm glad i found these. i think it's cool that they exist

Hey, so, this is my first time requesting but.
Fuck, is it alright to get some positivity for a Chuuya Nakahara? My source had issues with the whole humanity thing considering he and I don't even know if we're the original or just a clone. Not to mention the god sealed within me thing.
I just, I don't know, Forming here, where it's like I'm in the opposite end now of my previous situation, am I still human? Or ever was?
Hello Chuuya,
Dealing with uncertainty is hard, but you've done the right thing by speaking up about it! A lot of us here find that being able to speak about even "unspeakable" fears helps to take away their power.
I want you to ask yourself what it would mean if you weren't human. What is the worst possible scenario? Picturing that reality and coming up with a solution to that situation is one good way to knock a vague fear out of the park!
Existing in the alterhuman community, I've learned a lot about the concept of humanity and what it truly means; especially for alterhuman folks such as ourselves. I think that, regardless of what your innerworld or astral body may be (human or otherwise) you have more than enough right to define yourself. Do you want to be human? Then you are human. Your physical body already matches that reality, and regardless of what you look like astrally or in-system, you have every right to take that title of human being if you want it.
You are not an imposter just because your origins leave you in doubt. While your fears are certainly valid, remember that no one but yourself is questioning your humanity. And if you ask me? Thats the most human part of all of it. It's only natural to experience self-doubt; especially considering your experiences.
Clone or not-- hell, even vessel or not-- you are a person with value. The only difference between you and others is the uniqueness of your birth, and even that is something that, in a way, you share with many human beings! Humans all over the world experience radically different experiences of birth and rebirth, and to call yourself nonhuman solely because of your own uniqueness shames the uniqueness human beings hold as a quality as a whole.
You are allowed to be different, and your differences should be celebrated! Do not be ashamed of being unique. It's one of the trademarks of humanity's individuals.
I hope you are having a wonderful day and that this message is of some comfort!

Releasing the thing is was gonna do in October cause I procrastinated-
Nonhuman word a day calendar! Let's go.
What is your species?
I think I'm a canine of some sort, but I feel a very strong connection to alienkin and different types of machinekin too. I'm still new, and I'm still learning about myself.
2. Are you out? To whom?
I'm out to my brother, and by some miracle he's chill! It makes me really happy to have him here with me while I learn about myself :]
3. How old were you when you realized you weren't human? What made you realize it?
I'd love to say I know the answer to this, but unfortunately I don't really know. I remember sneaking glimpses of a documentary about "real-life vampires and werewolves" over my eldest sibling's shoulder sometime between 2014-2018, so we'll call it then. Wasn't officially "kinfirmed" yet, but it was a big step in the right direction.
The next time I remembered that otherkin existed was watching that Anthony Padilla video a couple years after it came out.
4. Do you identify more with otherkin or therian? Is it a mix of both? What communities do you identify with?
I identify more with nonhuman, alterhuman and voidpunk. They're just what feels right to me.
5. Tell the story of the first person you came out to.
I'm skipping this one because I was too sleep-deprived at the time to retain the memory. No big thinky on that one.
6. Have you suffered from any abuse for identifying as nonhuman?
No, mostly because only my brother knows.
7. Do you have a favorite nonhuman character?
Yes, and that is Kanenogi from Jingai-san no Yome. Adorable anime all around, I think you should watch it.
8. do you thing there should be nonhuman pride? What would that look like?
I'm not sure how to answer this one. I don't really have any feelings on the matter, except that we should be able to express ourselves freely. I'm certainly full of pride in my identity.
9. What does being not human mean to you?
Not sure how to answer this one honestly. I just...know? I guess?
10. What have other people said about your nonhuman nature?
well, my mom calls me a cryptid (affectionate) and the rest of the family call me a murder gremlin, but no one really knows, so they don't have any opinions on it. (I'm pretty sure that's what this question is about)
11. If you're out, talk about the most accepting person you've come out to.
My brother. He kind of nodded after I told him (both that I'm nonhuman and that I wanted to get gear for it) and didn't bring it back up. I was worried if course, but then a few days later he came to me with dog supplies (collars from around the house that our dog never wears, a harness our dog also never wears, etc) and asked if any of this stuff fit what I wanted. Since then he's been nothing but nice about it. it's really all I could ask for in this situation :]
12. Your favorite nonhuman Tumblr site.
Definitely xenodelic, found them when I first started diving into the community genuinely, has always been very nice and polite if I asked questions, and honestly just very cool in general. Totally recommend checking them out.
13. Your favorite nonhuman website.
Nonhuman National Park. Really good forum site, definitely gotta go back there more often.
14. Tell us about a time when you met another nonhuman, either online or IRL.
Met a cool system on a discord server a while back, they were really helpful in figuring out all this for me (systemhood, alterhumanity, all that jazz)
15. Your favorite nonhuman celebrity/person.
I don't know if it counts, but I really like Therian Territory and their videos.
16. Your favorite nonhuman book (Nonhuman characters are the main focus)
The Theri There webcomic on tapas. Specifically for alterhuman folks!
17. Your favorite nonhuman movie.
Not sure if it counts but Rise of the Guardians. Boogeyman was 10/10 gender envy as a kid.
18. Tell us a funny joke about being nonhuman.
I'm sorry, I dont have any.
19. Is being nonhuman spiritual for you?
No, it is psychological.
20. Tell us a few thoughts about what it's like being your species.
I don't really know, I'm still not sure what I am yet. I do know I feel very connected to machines (mostly my PC), like when you're vibing in a room with your friends. I also really want to bite people aggressively.
21. Tell us your favorite nonhuman quote.
"we need gay corgi werewolf vibes in this server" -- a mod of a server I'm in.
22. What do you believe causes nonhuman identity?
I'm going to opt out of this one, because I have no theories/ideas about this. I'm not a professional brain user.
23.what is your favorite nonhuman pride image?
I found this a few days ago on Google, it makes me smile.
24. Write something or post a picture about otherkin that upsets you.
The old screenshots of that squirrelkin blog where they didn't understand their own diet. It just irks me for some reason.
25. What is the worst argument you've heard against being nonhuman?
Not an argument against, but the "oh, you're an animal? Then I'll treat you like an animal by *insert terrible animal abuse horror scenarios*" raises my hackles. Genuinely want to stab those people.
26. Who is your biggest ally?
The discord friends I have from an alterhuman server, and of course my brother.
27. What is your favorite types of cake?
Chocolate blackout cake all the way babey. If the human body can digest chocolate then you know I'm using that to my advantage. Eating half your weight in cocoa is unhealthy for anyone of course, so be careful.
28. What are your favorite types of pie?
Pumpkin and pecan pies. Near and dear to my heart, I've always had a soft spot for autumn pies.
29. Where did you first learn about being nonhuman?
My eldest sibling's friends, I guess. Their partner was a furry, but I remember watching documentaries over their shoulder (see previous question near the top) and how their partner had told me that they were an animal. After that, the rest of my backstory unfolded, and eventually I talked to @/xenodelic about systems, checked out their blog and saw the alterhuman tag, and the rest is history.
30. Anything else you want to close with about being nonhuman?
Find cool friends, a lot of people here are friendly, and there are places made for you to ask questions and learn.
Watch out for beastialists. Be safe.
31. (Free space because I said so)
Happy spooky season guys!
30 day nonhuman challenge !!
for anyone who wants to do this this month!
