#the double meaning of ten being adamant about preventing as many deaths as he can#and his belief that he killed all his people and his homeworld so that the timewar could end#and also alluding to his self-hatred from that (perceived) decision#i don't think he's a hypocrite for saying this in the wider sense bc one of the biggest parts of his character#is the guilt stemming from the timewar and the dichotomy of never wanting anything like it to happen again vs the stabs of blankness#and apathy in order to cope with that level of loss#dr who#10 era
