So to continue this...

I just skimmed thru, if there are inconsistencies oh welp.

Bc jooheon is a bit older than changkyun they're not in the same class, so the way I'm thinking this is gonna play out is it all comes to a head when jooheon is abt to go to university (yes this is absolutely a romance trope that I'm gonna use). He's in the middle of his last year and he's already applied, but there's the q of whether he'll be able to stay close to home or not. Meanwhile, changkyun is worried abt it, and he at first mistakes these feelings for just regular "younger sibling is left by older sibling when they leave home to go off and do their own thing", but he sorta knows there's smth deeper. But he buries it and ends up seeming a bit distant even tho he's not trying to.

Jooheon is busy so he doesn't have the time to process his own feelings either, but he also knows that what he's feeling isn't just a familial bond.

Bc of these factors, they start to undo some of their progress, and the ppl around them notice. Kihyun is dying on the inside but he doesn't wanna say anything bc he wants to see how it plays out first, and if stuff goes to hell he'll just fix the aftermath. He's also holding minhyuk back bc otherwise he'd be trying to get jookyun together. (Meanwhile minhyuk and kihyun are having their own affair and minhyuk is also quietly pining for changkyun and jooheon, and kihyun knows but won't bring it up yet bc he enjoys minhyuk trying to hide it from him)

SO.

This is where homeroom teacher shownu comes in. He notices the new tension between changkyun and jooheon and so he asks them to help clean out a classroom after school. It's v obvs what he's trying to do, but jooheon and changkyun go along w it anyway bc they sorta wanna figure this shit out and finally talk to each other again. So he conveniently """"forgets"""" that he has a meeting after school and leaves in a hurry (smth like "hahaha oops I forgot abt this last minute meeting, sorry boys, I gtg but don't forget that u have to clean up here"), and they're left alone.

At first it's rlly quiet but then jooheon is like "why won't u talk to me anymore" and changkyun is so surprised that he doesn't know how to answer and jooheon interprets it as changkyun ignoring him. He gets annoyed and asks what's up w him, is he bothered that jooheon is leaving, and changkyun doesn't have a good answer bc it *does* bother him but he doesn't wanna tell jooheon why. It gets rlly quiet and jooheon is kinda embarrassed that he reacted that way bc he didn't think he cared *that* much whether changkyun was bothered or not. So they just finish cleaning up the classroom in silence at the end jooheon kinda pats changkyun on the shoulder and is like "sorry I shouldn't have done that" and brings up how he doesn't wanna be the way he was like when they were kids and how he's trying to be a better big brother but can't do much if changkyun doesn't let him know.

Changkyun tries to deflect bc he doesn't want jooheon to think he doesn't appreciate him, so they just walk home awkwardly together.

So how does the Jookyun incest AU even work. We talk a lot about it but like... THERES no story there 😭😭😭

Anyway. So I'm either thinking all of monsta x are brothers in this jookyun incest au (but only jookyun are getting together...or are they) or just jookyun are brothers and the rest of mx are either family or friends. Bc I can't resist adding tension, I'll say minhyuk and kihyun are fraternal twins and cousins w jookyun, and romantic tension ensues between the four of them (yes I'm absolutely sneaking in some poorly concealed jookyunhyuk).

So I wanna keep jooheon as the older one and changkyun as the younger, but they're p close in age so there's not that much of a diff. But they're step-brothers. Basically changkyun is kinda unsettling to jooheon at first bc he's like 6 and kind of a quiet kid w a bit of a poker face, and jooheon isn't used to that kind of person. So even tho they're p close in age they grow up w a bit of distance from each other.

...Or at least that's jooheon's perspective. Changkyun develops a crush on him at a rlly early point (out of admiration mostly; he just seems unapproachable bc he's shy and doesn't want to embarrass himself in front of his new brother), but he's scared if he tells anyone they'll get mad at him. So he keeps it to himself.

UNTIL cousins kihyun and minhyuk come along and they're these older cousins who are already in college when jooheon and changkyun are still in high school. Obvs they'd seen each other before but this is the time when shit rlly hits the fan. So one day jooheon is talking w minhyuk and he's like "dude Idk what to do w changkyun. I wanna get closer to him but he seems so unapproachable???" And minhyuk is like "*laugh crying emoji* wtf just go talk to him". Meanwhile kihyun is talking w changkyun and he absolutely encourages the crush (which changkyun hasn't told him abt but kihyun just randomly guessed at some point and changkyun's lack of a response gave it away).

So they end up talking and finally jooheon is like "wow so maybe I haven't been the best big brother these years :((" and changkyun is like "no it's my fault :((". Minhyuk and kihyun are listening at the door like little shits and nodding along to themselves like "yep this is a job well done".

Where does the actual incest come in? Where are the other mx members? Well this post is getting p long so I'll leave that until next time. But this is the build-up to what comes later on (I say that as if I've planned it out; I haven't).
