how do you actually like. learn languages with adhd? like in terms of "how do you stay focused" and "how do you stay invested/motivated for extended periods of time" and "how do you actually like. sit down to do* a study session?"

i know that immersion's good and all, but i find it really hard to just. sit there and watch [language] content when there's so much other stuff in my native language that's so much better and understandable.

with talking to ppl, i always feel like i gotta know enough to have a conversation in order to have a conversation, y'know? so i never end up having any conversations lol

when i've tried learning languages before i've almost always lost interest in it after a few weeks, and that kinda sucks. esp because half the time my interest shifts to a different language lmao

Immersion is really tough -- it's hard to feel invested in plot and characters if you hardly understand what people are saying...so here's a secret. Rewatch a show you love in English, in your target language dub. I'm listening to a fandub of "Welcome to Night Vale". It's really fun for me. I know that people go on about how it's better to learn from Original Native Content, but anything that keeps your interest is always better than nothing. And besides, there's a lot you can notice about the way they chose to translate things - it's fascinating!

Here's my super embarrassing language advice - I just daydream in Spanish. And a lot of the time, the spark of motivation to figure out a new bit of sentence structure is just me trying to figure out how to say a sentence in my internal monologue. I got hyperfixated on languages and sprinkled multilingualism into my mind soup. It sticks with me better when I learn grammar because I want to use it, rather than just sitting down to try and study something that's completely abstract. This actually works from pretty much any level. I think the sooner you use your target language like your native one, the better. Not sure if this would help but it might?

It's ok to learn in bursts. It's supposed to be fun, and a hobby. It's worth trying to fit your target language into your daily routine. I am a Duolingo guy, and I know it's not the best way to learn, but doing a little lesson everyday to keep up my stupid little streak can jumpstart me into studying properly. Or at least have me do a little bit of practice if nothing else, remind my brain that these languages exist, yknow.

Also, I have gained and lost interest in a LOT of languages - Korean, Swedish, Toki Poni, Dutch, I've gone on and off with Japanese a few times, and so many languages I just tried to learn for one day. And that's okay too! You don't need to become fluent just to enjoy learning a little bit about a language. :-)

I hope at least one part of this was helpful? I'm going to be honest, I wasn't sure how to answer this ask because even though you would assume it with me running a language blog and all, I'm not always a great student. At all. The amount I'm studying fluctuates a lot, and it's just something I've accepted. There's no rush, so just do whatever works for you, even if it's not "the most effective" way of doing it. Everything is progress, anyhow.

(also, the "sit down to do" thing makes perfect sense to me. And for the conversations thing.... yeah, I don't talk to people much either. I'm shy. So, I'm not sure how to help with that one.)

Honestly this is my bug bear lol. So many ppl with boobs are restricted in their activities cause they don't have the right support. I know so many women who had to stop sports after puberty and its wholly unfair. Plus if you don't have a properly fitting bra and you have boobs that are larger than average, you'll end up doing avoidable damage to your body.

There are boobs that are so big that a reduction is the only way, but that's very unusual its usually the bra that's the problem. Everyone in my family has much bigger boobs than me (32F+) and with well-fitting bras they can avoid back pain and do whatever sport they like. I've known women with significantly smaller boobs than my mum, step-mum, grandma, have to get breast reductions as a 'last resort' when their old bra size was 100% not gonna be serving them (if you want a reduction then go for it. But no person should be forced because they don't have access to a bra that's right for them)

I've helped most of my friends with boobs learn how to remeasure plus a significant number of relatives on the other side of the family. Its annoying at first and ppl don't like to talk about bra size always but its worth it. Once you know how to measure you know and that means you're doing it at home so you aren't getting upsold by the measurer at the dept store and wasting money on some itchy ill fitting nightmare that you'll never want to wear. The whole d=big is because that's how they measure implants. Pretty much any mainstream cosmetic surgeon is gonna talk in letter sizes like that but it's simply not how bra sizes work. (Most breast surgery advancements have been made by surgeons without boobs, how boobs are discussed in cosmetic surgery is not gonna help you in the shop/ day to day).

Which is why I also think its really important that we discuss correct measuring whenever it comes up. Cause the more it's talked about the more it'll become general knowledge which is important for ppl new to boobs without anyone there to show them the ropes (whether that be cause of puberty or transition or surgery or cause you've always had small boobs but they've decided to grow and become a problem midway through your 30s) not everyone with boobs has friends/ family with boobs that they can talk to about this stuff. (And your friends/family might give you bad advice. The misinformation is real.) I imagine that for trans girls, a lot of misinformation with this letter= big this letter= average, is being given from a medical side of things. Which is fine if you've got friends/family who can show you the ropes but if not and you're working it out by yourself, if you go by that cup size BS and don't know to look for the right shape bra for your boobs, you'll end up being uncomfortable when you don't need to be.

Another positive- with the correct size bra you'll have a lot more control over cleavage/ how booby things look in general, meaning, if you want to show them off, they'll look better in a well fitting bra but!!! Also the alternative, you can get minimising bras that work really well, if you buy them in the right size. A minimising bra is designed to strap them down and that will not work if you aren't in the right bra size. Pretty much, you have more control over your appearance, more support means your boobs aren't getting in the way/ becoming uncomfortable. It's gonna reduce the strain on your back and help posture, you won't have to deal with straps cutting in (in larger sizes a decent bra will come with wider straps, and more hooks on the band to help distribute weight) under boob sweat rash a lot of the time happens cause your bra isn't supporting them and so they are rubbing against the bottom of your ribcage. If they are supported better that shouldn't happen and if you wear a bra in a breathable fabric, you can limit how hot they get. There are positives on every side

I did sort of? Write down what I did? I used this grid:

To make sure he was as on-model as possible and to count my stitches, but I did use two skeins (with I thiiiink a 6.5m hook?) at once to make him Bigger. His screen is a ball of pink and a ball of purple put together (i think the pink was a 4 weight and the purple a 3 or 4? I lost the tags ages ago), and I did do color changes for the screen edges the whole time. Admittedly I would have wanted to topstitch said edges to make it more crisp but black yarn is a frustrating beast so I Gave Up.

- I did topstitch his mouth line on, but the electric-y bits that show he's talking were just regular stitches, anchored in the middle where the mouth line was.

- His back i didn't count whatsoever, I just did rows of double crochets that matched lengthwise until I got it tall enough to match his front. If memory serves, I had to add at least one row of single crochets to match Exactly but I didn't write it down so. yeah. (And I did also add the little apple to his back that I will show under the cut bc this is already getting wayyyyy too long of a response lol)

- his sides were probably the most frustrating tbh. I marked all four corners of his screen and did (with two skeins of weight 4 grey) double crochets in the back loops all the way around, doing two in the corners so it would turn properly. I had written down how many stitches tall he was (bc I had the grid) so I just used that to make sure I did enough. Then i stuffed him and sewed on the back panel (in the back loops as well)

- i didn't do this with mepad bc I didn't have enough, but I've crocheted a small MePhone4S (that is currently in the possession of Brian Koch so I cannot confirm if it helps long term) and put a layer of hard felt in the inside to maintain a flat shape rather than a bulbous one bc. they're electronics. But that is also an option

- legs I actually have a pattern for lol! bc I've doneeee. three or four different ii plushies and this is the best way ive found to do it:

• chain 4 sc, turn work, slip stitch into second st from hook, dc, sc

• chain 9, turn work, 8 slip stitches down the leg, and there'll be a little gap at the very end to slip stitch into as well (if ever needed, I can DM you a tutorial bc I know it's not written down that easily to understand)

- and oh gosh. I think I've been crocheting for at least 6-7 years? it's hard to pin down exactly bc I did my first piece in a girl scouts camp and I Do Not remember how long ago that was,,, and my first piece was so tight it was barely able to be worked into lol. My best advice for not making your stitches too tight (if you want my advice at all) is to make sure you can very easily move your loops on your hook. I always tug my stitches out a little so there's a gap between my hook and loop, but it's taken years to get the hang of and even now I find myself making pieces that are too tight (usually with single crochets or slip stitches). And usually I can tell my stitches are way too tight when it hurts my hands too much if that makes sense? if I'm more relaxed with my hands in general then my stitches aren't as small. Again, no idea if this makes sense or helps at all but ! crocheting is funnnn and I love sharing my patterns if/when I actually do them hehe.

Okay.........Wasn't expecting this from Doyoung but he has HIGH sexual needs and desires, and may go about expressing this inappropriately. He could lust after women's bodies often, and slickly (like I could even see him doing it on camera to other female kpop idols, watch him guys and you might see this behavior). The thing is hes soo inconspicuous when hes being a pervert (I say this somewhat lightly), that friends and the object of his lust would never know hes desires/intentions.

There's a reason these cards are falling out when I ask about his red flags, so i think this behavior is extreme and may even be creepy.

He could be a man that lacks restraint or just does not know when to stop (especially when his mind is already set). He really does take things to the extreme (I wonder if hes a munch as well)

Even with his jokes/roast, he could take them to the extreme and really hurt someone. He can be petty as well, like embarrassing someone in public with his hurtful jokes to get back at them for something. (Don't make Doyoung your enemy, he gets his revenge one way or another. By the time he strikes, his victim is none the wiser of what Doyoubg may even be planning)

Doyoung is quite stuffy, uptight a d conventional. I sense he can't take jokes about very well and (once again) can say extreme rebuttals to jokes at his expense. For an example: let's say a member was jokingly calling Doyoung a fool/ stupid in front of other ppl " Ah Doyoung your a babo", he could respond offended, " How am I the babo when you shitted on yourself after the concert a week ago" . Like you guys see how extreme he could take jokes, to where he reveals really personal/embarrassing things. (I'm sure members know to be careful with how they joke with Doyoung)

Hes a very old fashioned, out of date guy. He doesn't know how to talk or interact with women, hes no charmer and he may know that. He could be insecure at his lack of charming abilities and try to make up for it by like buying women's affection or throwing around his wealth, prestige and educatedness to seem more charming(but most women would just see him as arrogant, and honestly he is).

Hes quite romantic and have a lot of romantic fantasies that he wishes to act on (lacks confidence due to lack of charm). But he does hold a lot of chivalry and gentleman behavior that he does, like he may have a rules for himself about his behavior in front of others. So generally, he always appears respectful to others

He knows his faults well, not only in the romance department but even in his career. He may know he lack, let's say in the looks department compared to some other members or that he doesn't dance as well as others so he would try to make up for that with having amazing singing abilities (you guys may not agree but this is his mindset and honestly, it will bring him a lot of success to be realistic with himself, it's also why hes one of the favorites of his company).

He knows how to relay hard truths to himself but to others as well, whether or not their feelings get hurt in the process, they still get the truth from Doyoung. (Hes probably the go to member for when others need hard-hitting, cold, true advice)

He could be quite warm and caring of others, he reads others wants quite well, so hes the type to take care of you without even being told to. He could hold a femininity to him as well, like wanting to be a pleaser (now I definitely think hes a munch). He holds an innocence to him, that also makes others want to care for him and protect him

He is dealt a great deal of respect and most colleagues of his are assured hes capable of doing a job properly. He knows how to give and command respect, he also holds a lot of love, care and respect for older women in his life (like his mom, grandma etc...)

Yes Shoma's technique is controversial, but Shoma is far from the only skater with technique issues on the contrary many skaters have technical issues. Shoma only gets more hate because he wins and because skaters with the "right" technique don't "benefit in scoring" from their technique being better.

Anyone in this sport is from rather wealthy families. I don't know any skater who isn't "well off" however I do think that Shoma's family can be called rich. (there are fans who look for the prices of the stuff they have at home as what you can see on the puppy YT channel and they own loads of exclusive and expensive stuff)

Shoma buying his scores is big fat bs. There is no proof or any words of any official that ever pointed to this direction. It was just made up and spread by haters. Ppl who believe such bs are ppl who don't know how scoring works and can't properly evaluate Shoma's skills in this sport. I don't say that money can't have influence in scoring but any money cannot help Shoma land quads and develop the skill that he has. He was praised for his skating skills back in juniors when he wasn't even able to land 3A or quads and experts found it rather sad that such a talented guy would probably never win titles without the high scoring elements but as we know things turned out differently. In scoring consistency and reputation is key. Shoma may not always be clean but he can still deliver better than most other competitors and his results are pretty consistent. Shoma managed to stay one of the top skaters throughout his complete senior career, that's something that doesn't happen this often.

The only advice I have is to curate your own social media spaces. Hate can be anywhere. Block ppl on platforms who hate on Shoma, there is no use to argue with them. Then any social media platform can be a nice space.

I only use Tumblr and Twitter, but I know that Reddit for example is also quite nice for Shoma fans. Goldenskate forum has a Shoma fan fest section and there will only be talk about Shoma and hate isn't tolerated and will be deleted. (I know there can be drama in other general threads on other skating topics but as I don't use it I can't tell for sure)

Tumblr is mostly a safe space for Shoma fans, but as Twitter could crash at any day I see many Twitter users get back here and I can only hope they're not bringing the toxicity with them. But tbf I think it's easier to avoid hate on Tumblr as you need to tag words to make them show up in the search. You can also just stay with those you follow and you won't see any hate at all. (and thank goodness the confession block is gone) (and also because you can't see the number of followers you won't know who is "popular" around here and how blogs are connected and you can like whatever you want and it won't show up in recommendations)

There is one space for Shoma fans I can wholeheartedly recommend and use quite frequently but you should send me a PM that I can invite you to it as it's a little group of Shoma fans who created their own space.

I was thinking of you today cause I had a guy friend ask me for flirting and dating advice 😂 I came to realise I'm quite to the point with asking someone out which wasn't the case a few years ago, but I guess I found out being more bold is way more helpful. I would rather express my point properly and get turned down than miss my chance and regret it. A lot of times I would approach guys that had me interested in them and told them how I found them to be my type and was wondering if they would want to see if by getting to know each other in a deeper level could uncover a connection, a spark between us. Or if they are a person I saw and caught my eye I would go up to them flash a smile, say hello and tell them that they caught my eye and I would love to get to know them if they gave me a chance, so far it had a 100% success rate (well at the same time I tried it on 3 or 4 guys but there are extremely high chances they might actually not be your type at all, cause that was my case 😬)

Okay, the spiderman kiss is going in my notes. However, when I think of spiderman I just think of Twilight 'you better hold on tight spider monkey!!' haha.

I love all the cheese.

I feel it's very difficult to not get into a FWB situationship in this day and age, it's either you're emotionally celibate and just hold out or you enter into those situationships and hope for the best.

I've chosen to go down the celibate part because I have an anxious attachment style so situationships would break my heart haha.

But I have a high sex drive and it's been 3 years and omg it feels awful.

Honestly, we go about the same way when it comes to asking guys out. I usually do the same thing and say I'm interested in you and if we can hang out sometime and it's been no's so far so either my game is off or I'm picking the wrong ppl haha.

I laugh at my awkwardness because otherwise I'll cry lol.

But I'm like you, the infatuation gets long enough when you're like 'okay, I just need to know if I have a chance' and then I just do it and get it out of my system.

Even though I've been rejected, I do feel more relieved when I've just confessed it to them.

I've never been in a right person, wrong time type of situation before.

I think the closest I've been the right person, wrong time type of situation was:

I had a guy friend that I had a really good connection with, we had the best banter, we would always sit together and smoke cigarettes and talk about music.

He was a Capricorn and studying politics at my uni. He had that alternative grunge style, he always wore leather jackets, flannels, beanies etc.

Whenever we would meet up, he would always light my cigarette for me and give me really warm and intimate hugs.

And I mean, the hugs were pretty intimate for a guy-girl friendship.

When we'd hug, he would always stroke my hair, or the back of my neck or rub my back.

So I always thought that maybe there was something there.

But he was always in a relationship and with a girlfriend so obviously, I was never able to ask if he was interested or see if what we had was more than friendship.

But I remember just seeing him with his partners and he always seemed like he was very caring and loving towards them.

And I just remember thinking what a great catch he'd probably be.

And then thinking, why isn't he into me? what don't I have that the other girls do?

And he graduated 3 years ago and I haven't seen him since.

And even now, I sometimes wonder if he ever thought of me as more than a friend.

But yeah, that's one of my many tragic romance stories haha.

Be prepared to be judged by the Council

Saitama has an entire waitlist of home invaders visitors and he is not excited about unexpected visits or their surprises but he just cannot seem to get them out of his personal space. It's the charisma of disguised but unpretentious power.

“Oi Newcomer. Why did you not greet us?”

“Um. Excuse me, who are you n what the actual F are y'all doing in my house.”

“…Y'all?? Buddy how old are you anh?…”

Oh shit he's older than me. Play it cool we need to assert our seniority somehow.

Aside from seniority, its correspondent level of respect & form of courtesy by cultural context, another thought I had was people often treat others by perceived seniority.

For example, Forte looks like the mature sort of young adult but then hats off, hear him talk and you can tell he gets mistaken for a teenager and it would annoy him to no end. What can I say, he does talk casually and boldly like a teenager.

By contrast Kusarigama with his frog helmet on gives off goofy mascot played by equally goofy young person vibes. But helmet off, he's a down to earth and earnest person who takes his job seriously. An elder who is balanced by time and real, substantial experience.

Look at how he holds the cracked tea cup, both hands, formally, with dignity and humbleness. I actually like his design. He may look plain but is not excessively flamboyant and has solid ability. If I had the energy of a diligent and avid student I'd learn from an experienced and dedicated martial artist such as him.

Saitama gives an impression of less seniority or power than he has because he doesn't actively brag or carry himself assertively so then ppl see an aloof guy with blank face, assume he is weak and treat him so.

At the end though, they (Saitama & them three) may all be substance over look people. I feel like they will get along, however oddly the dynamic.

Maybe he didn't get broken bones but he surely got concussion with how boggled he is.

Trio of the acts cool but is hot-headed younger brother, sort-of likes to show off social butterfly (lol) but decently sensible older brother, and the uncle who tries to keep the kids checked.

I don't know why I'm so amused by them mb it's their contrast among each other & themselves, but it would be nice to see them hang out more or work together.

I feel like Saitama could also benefit from some more company other than:

fanatic disciple

obsessive self-declared rival

obsessive recruiter

obsessive recruiter's overprotective sister who is also highly destructive.

obsessive challengers and more recruiters

King is like the most mentally sound person out of all the people he knows, I feel like. By which I mean someone Saitama can just get along and be around normally, maybe rely on sometimes, when nobody else has saner advice.

Also how could I forget to attach music jokes.

Evolution of Forte: Fortification, if you will

First I thought he would be sort of like Glasses, quiet but candid, maybe not too extroverted but nevertheless diligent and gets work done. Just an average but decently competent guy.

Then I had the impression he would usually be chill, maybe a bit overly serious sometimes, but still straightforward and decently capable.

So I felt like he would look stoic with an average guy's dark haircut, sharp eyes, and probably bit of a permanent serious face.

Boy yo!!! What!!!? I fully did not expect him to be two block blonde and baby-faced and look like a character straight out of webtoon(!?)

Blunt he is regardless but the vibes? completely subvert my impression and expectation he's like a totally different person without hat or shades.

How much do you bet he wears his beanie and shades to look Big & Scary? cuz if I am met with a baby-faced two-block blonde headphone youth who is 200% squared up and declared ready to rumble with full lung capacity I cannot take it seriously. It's like you get stared down by somebody who emits less scary vibes than you.

My my, it's so funny pffhahaha… I don't mean it badly though, it has its charm, and Forte, DX, & Kusari-gama trio was also quite unexpected but I will talk about it next post.

That nervousness isn’t all bad though, there’s also some excitement mixed in ;) Well if he adds you, one problem solved! Just talk to him, start with easy stuff like “hey” or “how are you” etc. If he asks you those questions, you at least have time to answer properly and no reason to choke like you could irl. That’s why talking online at first can help, makes you comfortable with the person, and you can pretend your brain functions normally instead of shutting down near a cute boy lol Who are you? How you found him? Why you added him? You already know the answer to those questions haha but…You’re the cute girl who sees him a lot a the grocery store and (maybe saying you like him right away would be too much for you so) you were curious/thought he was cool/wanted to be friends with him/ wanted to get to know him better/etc etc. This is the age of the internet, so I don’t think he’s going to think you’re a stalker lol ppl add ppl they don’t even know, so really, you do know him…it’s not strange you’d want to add him.
