An important thing to me about Kris and Silver is that they're deeply weird about each other.

They're first and foremost rivals, they're family, they're each other's first buddy, they have something indescribable and vaguely queerplatonic going on, they're transgender together, and they're both deeply lonely kids who were only able to start forming bonds with kids their own age in the context of a mutual drive to make anything into a competition.

#i don't necessarily go to redemptionshipping but for the record i support their beliefs #comrades in the 'kris and silver are deeply important to each other' cause. i will always cheer for you #mandibuzzing #trainer kris #trainer silver #also this isn't even going into the tangled web that is each of their connections to blackthorn and clair and lance.#i also like to think they both got totodiles in my interp bc lyra and gold are also around going on their adventure simultaneously #and those two got chikorita and cyndaquil respectively while kris had already had a totodile for a couple years before setting out #so silver got the remaining pokemon (totodile) from the lab #which is another part of their rivalry. they're always competing about whose is the best.
