Thanks for tagging me @saiikavon!!
Rules
Post the names of the files of your WIP folder, regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous. Let people send you ask with the title that most intrigued them, and then post a little snippet or tell them something about it. If you want, tag as many people as you have WIPS.
Okay, since I have also done this before and I can't remember which ones I've done...I'm just going to post WIPs I've either worked on or thought about lately that i'm pretty sure i haven't done this game with before, and nothing that's already posted on Ao3 because I've probably talked about those enough 😂. So with no further ado (and in no particular order)...

But seriously though... I get what that other anon is saying. Not that you're desperate for patrons, but the part about needing to join just to download something (even if it is "join for free"). Plenty of people make their free downloads on Patreon available for everyone without requiring users to sign up for a Patreon account. It seems like an unnecessary hassle to require people to make an account just to download one item.
What is the advantage for you if you make people sign up for a free account? Do you get anything out of it? Because if you don't, this is just a way for another site (i.e. Patreon) to track users and spam their inboxes with junk mail.
I'm sure you can understand why people would be wary of signing up for a Patreon account, after some of the crap that's been done by less ethical creators through Patreon in the past.
It just... makes no sense why you would make users create an account in order to get something that you're offering for free anyway. I mean, I'm not telling you how to manage your own stuff. You can do what you think is best. I'm really just struggling to grasp the reasoning.
Look I’m so tired of this, you have your opinion and I respect it, I’m not gonna be answering questions about this anymore. I understand your point but as you said, that’s how I want to do things and you don’t need to always understand everything.
I already answered this a hundred times, I’m gonna explain it to you one more time and I hope that clear things up and if it doesn’t that’s not my problem anymore.
I’d like people to keep in touch with stuff I’m posting and to help grow my Patreon for the future. It’s not a big deal and again, if someone is not cool with that, they’re free of not download my stuff, nobody is forcing anybody to do it. I think every creator is free to post their stuff however they want as long as they’re not breaking any of EA’s rules about sharing cc, my stuff still free. The only thing I’m gaining about this is people who support me, is that so bad for you?????? No matter if it’s just one item I spend my time in it for free for everyone and the only thing I’m asking is people to follow me on Patreon so they can keep in touch with my next creations, why are you making a big mess about it??? Really. This is so unnecessary. I’ve seen a lot of creators doing the same and nobody is saying anything about them. Is it because I’m a small creator??? Or why am I the only one constantly getting backlash about this 😂
Instead of coming and send me a lot of messages about this y’all should go and ask the same to creators using curseforge and supporting genocide or creators who actually paywall their stuff and use emails to track people, I don’t do that and mentioning it sounds a little like false accusations. Because I already said my reasons and y’all seem not to care at all. People who want my stuff and want to support me, follow without questioning why and if they only want one thing they can always unfollow right away soooo asking about the same over a over is lowkey lame and I’m tired of it. By this point a lot of simmers have special accounts only for sims and accounts on Patreon, is very useful to keep all the cc creators in one place tho.
Oh and by the way, whenever anybody ask about this I always talk about the option of unfollow me because again, I’m not forcing anybody to stay in touch and trust me I’m not watching my followers account every minute they subscribe so I don’t have any idea of what them email is, so anyway the info from my Patreons is confidential and I’m not using it for NOTHING, I’m not that big of an asshole, I’m not using it to track people who uses my stuff or nothing so please be careful of what you say because people can misunderstand it and think I’m doing so. Again, that’s some really messed up accusation….

hii! i found your blog by accident and i'm mesmerized. i used to play rp on twitter and i really wanted to start doing the same here but idk where to start. could you please give me some tips?
oh hey, thank you so much for reaching out! :D i'll admit i'm not as active on this blog as on others, but it makes me happy to have reached you nonetheless. <3
i'd be delighted to give you some tips to start out! it's definitely a process that feels a bit alien at first, but over time you get a feel for it. :>
i am soooo sorry in advance, this is going to be super long — you picked a wordy bitch to ask 😂 but i'll try to format this in a way that's easier to read!
take your time to go through stuff & no need to read or absorb it all right away. feel free to keep this post bookmarked to look back on whenever you need it as well.
💖 welcome to raine's stupidly-long guide to starting tumblr rp! 💖 qualification: i've had this blog for 11 years. fml disclaimer: still all just from my perspective, i'm just one gal with opinions hehe
start out by making a new blog for your character. (i wouldn't recommend starting out with a sideblog personally, since you can't send asks from them). choose a url that feels relevant. i'm always a fan of the ol "smush two words together that sound nice" technique — ie, my other blogs are huntershowl and icarusplunged — which never seems to fully go out of style. really you can do whatever feels right to you :)
the most important part of setting up an rp blog is creating a rules page and, if you're writing an OC, an about page. the rules set up your boundaries, your wants and don't wants, anything you want someone to know before they follow you. the about page should give new partners everything they need to know about your character — personality, appearance, setting/lore, any backstory you want to display publicly.
feel free to look around at different rpers' rules pages and use them as inspiration! as long as nothing is copypasted and everything is your own original content, which brings me to etiquette.
etiquette!
'tis largely an Unspoken Thing in the rpc (rp community), and breaching it can def make people feel uncomfortable (even though that's something that Should be in rules pages, most of us forget haha). here are the things i can think of off the top of my head:
the way to reach out to new people is simply to follow them. that's all you gotta do! if they don't follow back, don't push, just unfollow them after a few weeks and move on. it's almost never personal!
in that vein, if someone's blog is private/selective/mutuals-only, wait to interact until they follow back.
once they do, it's up to you how you want to move forward — usually i'll wait until they post some sort of interaction call for you to like. a starter call, a plotting call, orrrr if they reblog an ask meme (which is like a list of sentence prompts! you can choose one from the list and send it as an ask, which they can use as an rp starter.) you can also just IM them though :)
don't reblog non-rp content (ask memes, quotes/imagery, etc) directly from another rp blog, it clogs up their notifications! just reblog from the original post instead.
don't interact with other people's threads (liking or reblogging, but feel free to read them and talk about them ooc!), and only respond to a starter if it's labeled as open — otherwise it was probably written for another rper specifically.
try not to prod people too hard if they haven't responded in a while. some folks are okay with being reminded about a forgotten thread a few weeks after replies stall out.
always tag nsft (not safe for tumblr, the other acronym gets flagged/hidden) and very upsetting content — gore, SA or abuse mentions, etc. i've seen some people starting to use "dead dove do not eat" as a catch-all for super dark content, but honestly that phrase gives me the heebiest of jeebies so i prefer to go with individual tags
general platformless rp etiquette rules apply: don't steal other people's content, don't assume or control the other character's actions/thoughts/etc.
be kind to each other, most of all. communicate when you have a problem with someone, rather than making a vague/callout post about them. that being said, i'm a proponent of the block button — blocking people is okay! it's not a big deal. this is a hobby space and no one is entitled to you. advocate for yourself!!
okay that was a long section, whew! lil break. take a sip of water. have a snack mayhaps.
now: RP STRUCTURE (the fun part)
we don't really do "script" style rp on tumblr — it'll usually, if not always, be in prose/paragraph form. formatting is a fun touch, but not necessary. as you can see, i'm using small text here with some little chunks of text in bold/italic or regular size text to add some visual interest. again, not necessary! experiment, figure out what you like!
lots of people will use icons of different sizes — 100x100 is the most common, but they really do vary. i would suggest going smaller rather than bigger (like don't use full post-width gifs or icons, try to keep them under half the size of the post? that's the most common vibe at least.)
icons can be used to "illustrate" your character's expression among a bunch of text, if you want Visual Spice. but they are soooo not necessary! totally up to you.
here are some examples of my icon styling!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
there are lots of rp resources out here for cool coloring psd's and graphic templates for ya blog. create something fun and pretty that you like! <3
to reply to a thread, reblog it and add your post.
important: i highly recommend downloading and installing XKIT in your browser. it's an extension that lets you trim posts to the last two reblogs (common around here), customize your blog experience, and just makes it a lot easier to exist on tumblr haha.
ummmm i think that's it actually! you're finally free of my rambling. i really hope this helped!! please let me know if you have any questions, and gimme a follow when you start up a blog — i'd be happy to help you out however i can.

Hello Pika ! 👋😊
After reading your last chapter I felt like pestering you again with my questions (you know that's my favorite past time).
So I have two concerning your writing process ❤️
I was wondering:
Which 'classic' and mainstream writing advice do you follow ?
And on the contrary, which is the most unconventional advice you follow?
I say this because I love learning more about writing processes ❤️😊
If it's nothing in particular that's okay, it's a valid answer!
Smooches ! 😚
AW YOU'RE SO SWEET and I'm so flattered you want to ask about my process!!! Which is also a fun exercise for me to reflect on how I do what I do since I don't often think about it that much HAHA!!
The short answer actually is that I don't particularly follow any advice hahaha!! I mention this as a cautionary warning every time I write a tutorial post, but I'm not formally trained, so when I started writing fanfic in 2017, I kind of just... went for it LOL. There are things I do now that I didn't used to do when I started writing, and there are things I used to do that I would NOT do anymore. But all the changes in my writing and my process have just been through trial and error. Sometimes I'll reblog writing advice/techniques that I see here on Tumbles, and whenever I do, it's advice that I happen to already be following and that I've found to be helpful.
I will say this, though: I wholeheartedly disagree with writing-advice posts that try to make it sound like there is a "best" way to write, or that you should/need to follow certain conventions in order to be a good writer. I firmly believe that there is no one best way to write a story, and this especially applies to fanfic, where the drive to write is powered by the sheer wish to create a story that YOU love. Two different writers will write a similar story idea in very different ways, and both can be amazing. A single writer can write in two very different styles in order to suit the needs of the story or the protag, and both can be amazing. If a post/piece of advice sounds as though it's trying to say that XYZ advice is how you should be writing, or that XYZ advice is what all good writers do, I'm automatically suspicious.
This writing post is an example of this. The gist of this post is basically that using "thought" verbs (i.e. verbs describing internal states such as think, feel, love, hate, want, wish) makes your writing less impactful, and that "Your story will always be stronger if you just show the physical actions and details of your characters and allow your reader to do the thinking and knowing." With respect, I disagree with this -- specifically with the "your story always be stronger" aspect of it. There are times when describing every detail will bog down the flow of the story, or may not fit the voice of the character whose POV you're trying to write. Advice like this should be framed more as a technique that can be used, and that writers can play around with this technique if they're looking for ways to change up the impact of their writing, as opposed to a prescriptive kind of "this is what you need to do to be a better writer" kind of rule.
On the other hand, I enjoy this post a lot, which just goes to show that many of the "literary greats"/most successful authors are ones who do not follow conventional writing advice - whether that's a good or a bad thing. I ripped this image shamelessly from the post, but I think these tags sum up what I'm trying to say much better than I've said so far:
Tumblr media
In essence, ESPECIALLY when it comes to fanfic, go nuts and do whatever you want. Follow writing advice IF YOU WANT TO/IF IT HELPS YOU, not because you think you need to, because you don't NEED to do anything except make yourself happy. 🥰
I hope this was semi-interesting to read! 😂😂😂
-- love from your friendly neighbourhood Pika! xoxo

Hope you don't mind me commenting about this again. The Practical Magic series is kind of hard to get into like I said the Rules of Magic or Practical Magic are the best because in my opinion they flow better and faster read. There are 4 books total. Magic Lessons is set during the witch trials and follows Maria Owens it was long because it seems each chapter is broken up by spells or remedies. Rules of Magic is aunts story and made me love the aunts more and had a character that I didn't expect. Practical Magic is Sally leaving the aunts and trying to be normal until Gillian returns. The final book is The Book of Magic and it follows one of Sally's daughters trying to break the love curse where everyone they love dies but its long and I felt its cause she tried to make sure everyone had an ending. Sorry again its long but my second favorite series. My first is Kim Harrison's The Hollows series which I recommend if you want a book about a witch, vampire and pixie running an investigation agency. I also thought about the Sarah J Maas books but I'm scared I won't like them as much as everyone does. Sorry again for the long post I have a problem talking about books.
Sorry this took me so long to reply to!
I went to answer it over the weekend and it quickly got buried. You don’t want to know how long I scrolled to look for it just now 😂
And don’t worry about the length of the post! I appreciate all it the info! Feel free to talk books whenever! I enjoy the change of topic. It’s needed sometimes! I can’t say I’ve heard of The Hollows so I’ll have to look it up. I did read the ACOTAR series and I thought it was good, but not great. It’s not the worst fantasy series that exists, but it certainly isn’t flawless either. I think at this point I’m more invested in seeing what fan theories come true if that makes sense? But Throne of Glass seems like a daunting series to get through when the series is so long and people argue about what order it should all be read in. There are theories it’ll one day tie in to ACOTAR and Crescent City (which I also haven’t read) and I don’t want to be completely lost if I don’t read them, but I also don’t want to put the time commitment into her other series to feel like it isn’t worth it when I’m done? 🦎

**PINCHES AND RUNS LIKE A MADWOMAN** HEHEHEHE 😈
HELLO THERE, MY DEAR GIULIETTA.
Welcome, welcome into my inbox, and thank you so much for your questions!!
(also, ouch, my poor cheeks are going to be so red because of all the pinches 😂😂)
here, have some hot chocolate with me, while I dive down into answering all your questions! <3
Tumblr media
3. What ideas come from when you were little.
Probably the ideas I mostly take inspiration from ideas I had as a child are the ones connected to my TDQ!AU (you know the one☺️ ). Considering the absolute love I have for the Arthurian Legends and lore, I have explored them vastly even as a child, albeit in a different way and with a different approach, I would say that the idea of a strong Queen leading her people is one that stuck with me for the longest time. So I love drawing concepts and ideas connected to those particular themes. So I'd say Medieval/Fantasy are the ideas that mostly followed me since childhood.
Another one I' say is connected to Princesses, Winter, and the Victorian Era, and for that, I blame my mom for gifting me books upon books about these themes.
4. Fav character/subject that's a bitch to draw
I would say that whenever I draw canon characters, THOSE ARE THE BITCHES TO DRAW. Because you see, when I draw an OC, I can do as I please, since they are my own characters and they answer to my own rules and details. But when it comes to drawing Canonical Characters, I have to follow certain guidelines and parameters, in order for them to be recognizable. So I need to study them intently, which is why I have thousands of pictures for references. I spend a good chunk preparing myself by looking at those pictures and finding the traits that make the characters recognizable. Then, I need to take into consideration my own style, and how to mix the canon design with my way of drawing, and that can take time. So, I'd say this is the bitch part of drawing lolol
5. Estimate of how much of your art you post online vs. the art you keep for yourself.
mmmmmm. If I were to make a rough estimation, I'd say that for every finished artwork I post, there are between 5-7 artworks I don't share at all; some might still be just in the sketch phase, others might be next to complete but I just don't want to share it with others. But I would say I have more unshared artworks than shared ones.
10. Favorite piece of clothing to draw
Gowns. Exquisite, opulent, refined hyper-detailed gowns that could belong to royalty. I love creating dresses that, in another life and if I were less how I am, I could wear and run around with, so OMG GIMME ALL THE GOWNS. ALL THE GOWNS.
Another specific piece of clothing I love to draw are ribbons and bows. I just love them.
19. Favorite inanimate objects to draw (food, nature, etc.)
Flowers. Generally speaking, I love drawing flowers, and particularly roses and lilies, which are my favourite flowers (which is why I always associate them with any character I created. I am just very fond of drawing them, and I could do that over and over again.
30. What piece of yours do you think is underrated
I don't think I am objective enough to answer this question, in all honesty. My perception of my artworks is entirely emotional, due to all the feelings I wove in each and every one of the artworks I create. Of course, I would love for them to be appreciated regardless of the fandom they belong to, but that's not how it works in general. If I were to say what piece of mine might be underrated, is this one.
thank you for your questions, I had fun answering them! :D

Hello, how are you? Before I start, I would like to wish you Happy holidays and a very happy new year!!!
Can I participate in your future spouse series please? Like you said in the post, anything that might come up, although I'm very curious to know when he'll come into my life. I'm C, she/her and interested in men.
I've followed all the rules. And I'll most definitely leave a feedback. Thank you very much for this opportunity!! Greatly appreciated!
Hey sweetie, Happy New Year to you as well, hope you have a beautiful year ahead💗✨ and also thanks for the reassuring words( Babies who give feedbacks>>>>>>>>>>) hope you enjoy your reading love✨
Ok right off the bat, he is an honest person. Like very direct, no drama no sugar coating or people pleasing. If he likes someone he likes them if he doesn't then he won't. And if he isn't feeling something he'll be direct he'll let you know. He isn't someone to beat around the bush or hide how he feels. He'll tell you how it is. Loyal to the core, you don't even have to think where you stand when you are with him. Since the start, when you guys meet he will only have good intentions with you, no hidden motive or something. He takes time to make a decision cause he thinks through and through, not at all impulsive or risk taker. Very mature and understanding as well as grounded. He's a good planner and an amazing leader. Maybe in a leadership position at work. Have a good reputation and are very stable but they don't give too much value to material things. They are satisfied with what they have and very grateful. They may have dry humour. They aren't your funny, class clown type. They may seem intimidating at first but they are a total sweetheart. They are very calm and cool and don't panic easily. Maybe you do? They'll help you out whenever you feel this way, they will make sure to get you regain confidence or make sure you stop worrying. Sometimes they maybe too blunt tho. Very analytical and rational. Y'all maybe opposites. Even tho he is blunt he isn't expressive in a romantic sense. They may have been judged in the past or bullied which made them work hard to achieve their goals. Look wise they may look stoic or aloof at times to others. Pale skin possibly, may be different race than you or from a different country. Hair maybe longer than usual. May love to sleep😂 may have a dog? May love fitted clothes. Medium to tall height. Broad shoulders and chest. Very masculine. May work out. Intense eyes. Not a beard but subtle around their jawline. Financially right now they maybe a newbie at work or maybe doing an internship or something. They aren't yet settled cause they are young, may just have graduated or something. They are working hard on their career and they'll make it up to the top someday. They are very decisive, out of the box thinking and they are good with money matters. They know how to manage things well, a good leader and very smart and skillful. Others/their close ones may see them as someone who is not easy to bring down or defeat, brave, sharp minded, decisive, authorative, stoic, kinda cold but loving tho, good with kids, family oriented, traditional, has been through $hit, honest, loyal, supportive, creative, bossman, doesn't regret his decisions cause he actually looks at the pros and cons. He's an ambivert more on the introvert side. Good at debates. Right now they are working very hard for they're career, like super super busy. They have lotta work to do and they don't have time for themselves. With you he'd be very gentle tbh like he would never want to hurt your feelings, he hates to see you cry. Would comfort you by giving hugs etc even tho he never really does that. He feels emotions deeply. He feels connected to you. He wants to do small lovey dovey things which he never wanted to do before. It's like you bring up these emotions which he thought he'd never feel. You are very precious to him🥺
Possible Placements: Major Earth sign, a bit fire and air as well
Possible fashion aesthetic:

Personally, I feel like you can post whenever you want. Even though it could be the exact same date as the other popular/unpopular one. There is no rule, so don't make it a tradition. People will read based on the page they followed. I find the clash between fans really childish.
I don't think the anon said it as a clash between fans. Actually, I wasn't aware there was one 😂 maybe that's why I read it differently.
But to some people it might be reason to post another day. I just don't care much about that. I do this for fun.
