it’s funny to me how many people are saying the lom anime didn’t work because the game is episodic. yet episodic anime used to be so prevalent? and popular, at that? is cowboy bebop not episodic? kino’s journey?

it’s obvious the anime team just had a very specific image and tone they were going for, and that’s what conflicts. the saddest part is the game is very concise in its stories, it’s just that the team was very smart and effective in their storytelling and presentation. and i wish we could just admit when an anime fails instead of trying to pin something on the “nature” of a work

#i mean #their first trailer having moe pearl...#was kinda the mark of where this was gonna go #and to not include rubeus in promo stuff early?#to show off diana but not rubeus??#even the lack of alex(andrite) in merch is pretty telling #how they looked at the jumi arc of all things and wanted to go the moe girls are for sad or cute fanservice only #was a choice #a bad one #i don't even know if they'll care about the dragoon arc?#at least the jpn fandom likes moe sierra #so they'd be ahead of the game!#but pls no fairy arc lmao #leave matilda and daena alone #matilda does not need this in her forcefully-aged-mana-drained life #and i just know they won't do irwin's abs or sad boy energy justice
