#it's also grown increasingly obvious and increasingly inappropriate and increasingly unhinged the amount of denialism these antis push#against the importance of queer rep in media as they to force a separation between destiel + the importance of queer rep#and denialism on positive impacts destiel has already had and why that representation is important#and why the destiel lane's willingness to engage on social issues is a GOOD THING#that shouldn't be erased or denied or forcing an artificial and simplistic separating of that from the interests of the ship#i don't care if you don't like it Karen but destiel has already had impacts beyond 'just a ship on a fictional tv show'#and people who still concern troll about activism sound so very privileged and out of touch it's 2024 now Karens it's not 2008#dot trolls fandom#btw the 'shipping isn't activism' thing was supposed to be for people who ship queer ships then want them othered and silenced#or people who ship queer ships and think that is the entire picture of activism#it was not ever supposed to be weaponized to silence and denigrate and belittle and other the lane of a queer ship#that is in fact very active and engaged in real world problems and highly attuned to the importance of representation in media
