buying a bull of a different breed and breeding it with your normal cow has the potential to result in a baby cow being born that matches the breed of the father. bulls are half the price of heifers due to not producing milk and solely existing to boost milk production and breed with other animals on your farm. breeding your normal cow results in a net loss of ten days of milk production - five dry days before birth, five days of mother's milk after that. on average, a day's worth of normal S-rank milk runs from 600-900g a day, if you're selling all of it and you don't have the processing room. a star bull costs 25k, paltry in comparison to the 50k star heifer. for ten days of production loss and a 25k breeding fee, ideally timing it so that the dry days run over either the entire summer or entire winter seasons due to production being down in the extreme temperatures, you're looking at an rng-fueled 16000-19000g saved by taking the route of buying the bull, not to mention the extra two milks a day (an additional 300g per day) for the season after the mother's milk runs dry and the cow is producing an extra milk per session. so really, adding in an extra 3000g to money saved or gained through this method, it's 19-21k g more profitable to buy a star bull and breed it with your normal cow and simply hope for a female star calf to be born from it. with the brown and marble cow versions this can also be a bit more profitable (looking at saving 1k to 4k depending on breeding times, plus gaining 3k from extra milk production), but in the long run, it's honestly not worth it because by the time your marble or brown bull grows up and breeds with the normal cow and the calf is born, you definitely could have just bought an adult cow with the money you've gotten and in the meantime you've lost profits from the cost offsets associated with not having the cow during that time. this does not factor in selling the bull afterwards and money earned back on that.

tldr breed for the star cow but don't bother breeding for the brown or marble cows
