honest to god better late than never but i really wish i had played pmd2 earlier in my life bc i see lots of people nostalgic for the game since they played it as kids and it makes me feel kinda pathetic to get to gush about it as a grown ass 20 year old but. to be fair. it's so unexpectedly good and poignant and beautiful it can be enjoyed at any age. i've heard of moms playing this after their kid(s) beat it and they also loved it lol

also this grovyle art from the menu screen goes so fucking hard it's insnae. i love the menu screen art in general, this one with chimchar is also a favorite of mine lol

#blog tag #i grieve a lot of games i could've played as a kid bc i did have both a DS and a R4 cartridge #but the R4 was gendered for some reason? i think my dad bought one that the vendor said was 'for girls'#it had animal crossing and barbie games and nintendogs y'know the drill. some mario and kirby games too #i lived a very traditionally feminine upbringing and didn't even know what pokemon was as a child #i knew pokemon was a thing until i hit puberty and had friends who liked it lol #mind you i was born in 2004 so the franchise was already pretty big at the time i was on puberty #pokemon x and y were 2 years old when i first learned about pokemon. just to put it into perspective #i didn't watch anime prior to that either. except for candy candy LMAOOOSDJFHGFKJD #i don't even remember if i caught pokemon on the tv and switched channel. my childhood is a biiiig blur #i don't remember almost anything about it. it's mostly just 'person told me i did this' etc #but that's a topic for sometime else
