Why is menorah trash?

..... it's a take off of my normal icon.

i've been doing icon edits for halloween for years now (not pictured: the original one from 2016 (a pumpkin) cuz i can't find the file for it). to get in the chanukkah spirit i also made a hanukka edit this year

though tbh now that i think of it i can see why people not familiar with my icons can see the menorah with a "trash" label on it and question it. especially since chanukah season is regrettably over now

#yeah i think i will change my icon back to normal soon #i do find it funny that i got sent this ask AFTER i posted the menorah icon alongside my regular icon #like..... i think it's pretty obvious where the design came from at that point???#though tbh if you didn't know that i often put the trash label on non-trash labels for halloween #then it could be thought that i'm saying a menorah is equivalent to a trash can i guess #also before anyone mentions the candy corn that says NOT trash #1. was meant to be a one off gag. saying 'NOT trash' was not something i planned to continue in future icons #2. was referencing the ongoing debates of if candy corn is good or if it sucks #as i am firmly a candy corn supporter i had to make my stance known #since antisemitism is not a fun 'is this candy gross or not' argument #and instead is fucked up bigotry #i didn't even think to make a 'NOT trash' icon in the same vein as candy corn #ask #answer #OH YEAH I'M JEWISH. AND CELEBRATE HANUKAH. IF YOU COULDN'T TELL.
