i wish i got to play grout(dnd half orc) more. i loved her. she was part of a mystery solving campaign and was awesomeeee.
#talking#one part that got annoying was my fellow players making fun of her manner of speech/considering her stupid#but i was playing her as someone raised by orcs who spoke orcish#which had a very different grammatical structure to common#i decided they didnt have pronouns to simplify communicating in dark places. ''you'' doesnt mean much when you cant see whos talking or who#theyre talking to#so grout would speak with grout-first language. grout sees horses coming. grout tell friend to do this. etc.#SO THEYD NEVER TAKE HER IDEAS SERIOUSLY BC OF HOW SHE COMMUNICXATED THEM#AND ID BE LIKE (15 years old)(fuming)#LISTEN TO GROUT!!!! GROUT HAVE IDEA!!!#COMMON JUST NOT GROUT FIRST LANGUAGE LISTEN TO GROUT!#she had a tabaxi druid wife#or FIANCE i should say#she was engaged but wanted to go on an adventure before she got married#i guess to be fair to my coplayers i DO usually play characters with low intelligence very intuitive and impulsive. but they were TREATING#grout differently than those other characters. due to how she spoke? the fact that she was a half orc? the fact that she was a woman?#wheras a lot of my other characters were men who spoke common more ''properly''#(and had WORSE ideas who were STUPIDER)
