#i couldn't sleep so instead i'm watching contrapoints again

one of the things i really appreciate about contrapoints is that she doesn’t shy away from her own sexuality in an attempt to be more palatable to cishets. of course being trans and bi isn’t exclusively about sex, it’s not a kink, it’s not a paraphilia. but for most ppl, our identities do include sex, sexuality, attraction, oh god fuck me moments. most of us do want to fuck or be fucked (with someone who respects us in our entirety). 

like. after spending years on tumblr with ppl who pretend demisexuals are “just normal” because obviously no one feels attraction until they’re deeply emotionally entangled with someone (lmao, i have been sexually attracted to more complete strangers than to my best friends and that’s how i know i’m not demi), after seeing ppl attempt to pretend teenagers have never been horny (guess i was just a freak), and other such sexphobic nonsense, it’s so. fucking. refreshing. to see someone just as passionate about queer rights who’s, shockingly, not ashamed of her relationship with sex. 

it makes me feel less like a stranger among my own people, reminds me that there’s a world of queer ppl outside of tumblr and its weird, infantilizing, conservative-with-a-gay-hat ways.
