Main line pokemon games have Nothing on the fanmade roms 

I’ve been binge playing Insurgence and Holy Shit. The storyline. The levels. The Delta Venusaur (and Pidgeot but she’s just lovely). Mega Marowak!? The fact that i have 48hrs into it and i just got the 7th badge? (by this amount of time in an official game it would’ve been beaten, already gone through postgame, etc etc) There’s many side quests, delta species, and odd easter eggs. This whole cult thing, the Drama, the humor, the one guy who’s like “Don’t you know vaccines cause pokerus?” (which honestly. That’s a good side effect.) or the other one who’s sitting in a room filled with twenty gible telling you not to judge them (relatable). The multiple NPCs who are like “I’m so happy pokemon exist. I can’t imagine how boring and awful life would be without them.” And that one mentioned video game called ‘Humans’ which is literally just the real world. 

If i had a recommendation, it’d be this one. Gaia is also pretty damn good. But THIS. There’s also the Nuzlocke modes, randomizers, difficulties (hard gives Every Trainer a competitive team and my god it’s intense, i went back down to easy after that and it’s still a decent challenge). Plus you don’t even need an emulator. It’s literally its own program. And with how most romhacks are inaccessible now due to some google files being unshareable without permission now, this one is still available.

I mean. Just look at these Delta pokemon. (All my pokemon are named after plants and plant genus btw)

And mega Marowak. It’s got the Parental Bond ability and there’s so many references to Cubone being the baby Kangaskhan carries and such. Marowak being my slow and steady tank in a team has been Upgraded. Her name is Echevaria btw. :3 I also have a Breloom named Psilocybe and i love her and her mushroomness. She literally kicks ass and beat the shit out of a groudon while being three levels under. Hell yeah. Mushrooms.
