#i can't wait to unlock terraforming

i am getting ready for new villagers, my museum is being built, my store is open, starcourt is a happening place!!!!!

I've developed this completely normal habit over the last several years of always having this tiny shrine to my primary f/o at the time on the back of my ac islands. It's not a major design element like, its tucked on the back lefthand side beach end rocks, so it's not stumbled upon often but it does make me happy 💕

Anyway, back on that grind, went to a few more islands, I should be able to pay off my third house upgrade and hopefully I'll have unlocked the stairways/bridges but idk if that isn't until I also unlock terraforming hmmm, but anyway I'm preparing , and I think I'm good for now,,,I tried going to a few nook islands but they've all been the same to my main, and can't invite those in boxes on islands because im full rn so just waiting game atp

So.. I was playing animal crossing again. I swear this will not be the only thing I talk about, but I am just very excited and I have a lot of thoughts!

Today, the museum is under construction, the shop is all built, I caught the arapaima I mentioned last night, I went on a wild hunt for a cicada shell after I accidentally threw my last one away (shaking my fist at drift), aaaand I caught a coelacanth!! Really hoping I spelled that right.

This was from last night, I spent like 5 minutes trying to get it right.

Oh!! I also got the three houses set up. I just thought this was funny.

The other boy!! Look how pretty!! I can't wait to see my boys in the museum. Speaking of boys I NEED C.J. to come to Starfall, I cannot go to my house without waiting for so many fish to spawn..

I like to fish. I refuse to sell them without C.J. because I know as soon as I do, he's gonna arrive, and I will have the urge to throw my switch in the nearest ocean. (not serious)

With Timmy and Tommy in the shop, Mr. Nook looked lonely, so I kinda stood here for an hour and a half while I watched sport with mom.

And that's all I did!! I think!! I am excited to unlock terraforming!! I have attempted it on my very first island, but seeing as I am on my 6th and have not tried it again, it is safe to assume it did not go well. But!! I want to try again with Starfall!!

Ellie moved in today. :3 Everyone else was busy with the Fishing Tourney, though Truffles gave me a littter box later. Started to make a little fishing-area with the stuff I got from CJ. And there was a short moment we were hanging out in the museum.

A big morning on Chickadee—hit 3 (actually 4 haha) stars so KK is coming tomorrow and I unlock terraforming! I also found Dobie to fill my last plot, and Molly agreed to move in and Phil is heading out (land speed record for a move out, poor guy only had one full day on the island lol). Plus the Bug Off! While island hopping it was raining too so I caught TONS of goliath beetles and rainbow stags to sell to Flick. So excited to unlock terraforming tomorrow! Can't wait to get started on designing the island.

so much has happened in Eventide since the last update!

we’ve celebrated Bunny Day, obviously, and (sadly) seen the last of the cherry blossoms. and had our first Fishing Tourney! I must say, I really enjoy how this new version of it works. I got everything but the gold trophy, and had a blast doing it. really nice! and perhaps most importantly, a visit from the iconic KK Slider, enabling me to unlock terraforming! :D I haven’t done much with it yet, but you can see one thing I’ve done in the screenshots: a heart-shaped pond.

there’ve also been new arrivals! you can see Bunnie in one of the screenshots, and there’s also now Willow in town. I invited her to my campsite on a whim, wanting to see what a snooty would ask me to make and also because I needed a tenth villager, and was happily surprised by how quickly I got attached, even before she moved in. tomorrow Marshal will join her, replacing Hippeux. I know it’s ~basic~ or w/e to love Marshal, but idc. he’s cute. next up is replacing Norma with Molly, and then begins the effort to get Vic out and hope for my preferred cranky, Wart Jr (I’ve never had him and I really want him, I think he’s really cute).

after days of time traveling, I finally unlocked terraforming! can't wait to finally work on my map!! will probably post about dreams since I'm looking for inspiration~

Day 1.

So the day has finally come.

Animal Crossing New Horizons is finally out. I’ve waited years for this moment and the first day was already a blast despite heavy restrictions but I know things will open up more and more in the coming days and I’m super excited for what is to come. Now I’m not going to timetravel unless I miss a day, then I’d do it to catch up on what happened the day before but this won’t happen for some time because I’m really going to invest into this game. My long time goal is to turn this place into a real paradise but I will take my sweet time. For now my goal is to unlock all these neat little things and then when I have a solid grasp of what is possible I will make plans what exactly I’m going to do with my island. There are also no plans on which villagers I want to invite. Honestly I’ll probably just roll with whoever comes and finds a place in my heart. At this moment of writing I’m pretty sleepy so I guess I’ll stop here. I’m eager to see what’s going to happen tomorrow!

Euphoria is just coming right along.

Our new bridge and campsite opened today. As well as my house moved to it's more permanent spot and i got a lighthouse for us! I love lighthouses so I am pretty excited about that one.

I can't recall feeling so happy about something as I feel about this stuff now and I almost feel bad that I can't share it with my two closest friends who don't play video games and who are struggling with things lately. This has helped me so much, and I feel so blessed that I have something like this to help pull me out of bed and gives me something that makes me feel productive.

I hate to say it but in ways it's been on par with how getting a dog was for me... just in SOME ways, and definitely not to that scale in a lot of other ways. And don't get me wrong, I'm not bored of my dog, but he has bonded with my mom in a way he never will with me and I don't know when or how that happened, but it means for his ultimate happiness I have to let her have most of his time. Which can be the opposite of soothing, at times, I feel bad and jealous. So don't get me wrong, having a dog will always be better and I'd absolutely do anything for him, but Animal Crossing is helping me now in a lot of the ways that he used to when I first got him and he still needed me. That is saying something HUGE because that clearly and obviously changed my life for the better.

For right now at least, I feel like this is a game changer (lol) for me. At least for my mental health. Obviously it can do nothing great for my physical health, but at this point, I don't even know what can.

And this game not only has me waking up excited, but I feel like it really nurtures my creative side with everything you can do to make the town better. I have big, costly plans, and it's gonna take a few bells but everytime I earn enough for one project to be done I get to feel accomplished, and I get to be creative in deciding what to do. Plus it's just FUN. It's a game, but it's more than that, too.

One of my favorite features though is finally being able to send mail to friends. I wish there was an actual post office, sure, but I have a lot of fun sending mail in real life in hopes of making people smile. Same concept in Animal Crossing. Plus it makes it easy to share cool finds with people on other Islands. I imagine for couples and families it's especially cute to leave a little note and virtual present for a loved one. But just between friends it's pretty cool too, to just send the unique stuff you find day to day. Like I was looking for roses and my friend sent me some. So I sent her a cool fountain. So she sent me some extra oranges. I'm about to send her something EXTRA special maybe, so I hope she'll like that. It's just a really fun, cool feature and it's one I frankly thought would never be in the game. There is actually a lot of ways communication has been made better, like being able to type from your phone, or send instant messages (I think, haven't done it yet) to your BEST friends. And I think this is how these games SHOULD be, but I honestly never expected it to BE that way. It's a really pleasant surprise.

Anyway, today I need to figure out what to work on. I think I need to build the town's first incline today that way I can better utilize that extra space on the second level. If I ever unlock the ability to terraform I think I'll be getting rid of some of the third level so the second can be bigger, but I think that is where I will put most of the rest of our houses.

I want to have a residential area on the right, shopping district in the middle, and a woodsy, orchard-y kind of place on the left. I do have an island in the middle and I don't know what to do with that space yet, might make it a garden... not sure though. And those are all just rough ideas they aren't the detailed full plan. But for right now since it's been so much trouble I've only been working with the first level mostly. Now that it's going to have an incline I think I can more easily access it and start thinking what I want to do up there.

And I also want to upgrade my house. I think I want to get it fully upgraded so it's best to work on that as much as I can as it could take a while even if I paid off my loan daily and I know that I won't be able to make it each day especially with the loans getting so much more expensive. So I need to constantly be working on that too. Plus make sure I have money for shopping, especially for clothes.

Clothes are my favorite in these games and the wand makes it that much more fun. Celeste came to visit last night and I got a recipe for a star wand which I do have enough to build I just don't know if I should keep my bamboo one instead and save those pieces for something else. I will probably make the star wand because it's cuter honestly. With the bamboo wand it's kinda more just a stick of bamboo more than any kind of wand.

Anyway, I can wait no longer, I have shiz to get into this morning on the beautiful Isle Euphoria. So I am going to go do that. Thanks for reading.

All the reviewers have mentioned they can't tell us exactly how to unlock the town designer/terraforming, could you find out please? (if u manage to get ur hands on the leak, it has been datamined now btw)

I'll keep an eye out. But honestly I don't think I'll find those answers first. Or anytime soon. xD

While I do have access to the leak (and no moral qualms about downloading a pirated copy of a game I bought twice). I don't want to spoil things for my regular playing of the game.

I might download it and play the beginning for a bit. Resetting like 20 times to take a good in game look at the different fruit, airport colors and see some of the various rock formations that we can have on the beach. I haven't decided that I will do this at all. And even if I do, I have decided that I will not play much more than the tutorial. I want to really experience the game for the first time while play MY island, which will be on my special editon switch which will remain hack/mod/exploit/jailbreak free and therefore unbanned for online. And will arrive some time on Friday with a slight possibility of having to wait until Monday (which would be soooo annoying but I could deal with it).

Oh, but on the matter of how we unlock the permits for terraforming. I am like 90% certain one of the reviewers or one of the people playing early stated that we unlock those the same way we unlock the tool ring and inventory expansions. They are a Nook Mile reward. Though I guess we don't know when or how we get additional rewards added to the list of rewards we can buy... Pure speculation but I would expect it to be tied to the total play time and having upgraded from the Resident Services tent to a building.
