There is so much weird stuff that goes on with my work computer it's not even funny.

I handle reservations with the same software that the front end uses. Mine has never been hooked up to a receipt printer. But every time I do a sale it pitches a bitch that it can't print out a receipt. Workaround? I just get used to pressing escape four times after a successful sale.

I occasionally have to generate invoice pdfs, which the software can do. But every so often, unpredictably, it will freeze up when I try to generate said pdf, and I have to force close the program. Workaround? I write down the name and date of the invoice before I even try to generate the pdf.

IT will push through updates that require the computer to restart, and for everyone else they can just minimize the popup and do that at the end of the day. For me, however, the minute that popup comes up the internet stops working. I can use anything that I already have open, like my game of 2048, or read any email that has already loaded, or send stuff through my work email, but i cannot bring up anything new. tumblr stops functioning almost entirely, and at first I thought it was just the hellsite, but when I try pulling up any new website, it doesn't load. Workaround? I just. Log out and restart the computer. This takes about five minutes or less and usually doesn't mean that too many people are waiting in the phone queue.

Should I call IT for these things? Probably. But they don't work weekends and I do. Plus that's only some of my technical problems, and it's far faster to just do something else that works but is less efficient.
