"i met Ernest when i got into university. it was a total accident, and i didn’t think we’d end up being friends. ever since i met him, i’ve been amazed at his restraint and equanimity, which has been incredibly combined with openness and ease. i think his whole life has been going on in such a way that he just couldn’t stay away from the theater. growing up in a musical family, he learned to play instruments and studied art from an early age. when he played the piano or cello, the whole hall was silent. people admired his music, he was prophesied for a great future in the field of musical academic art. i was surprised when he told me he didn’t want this future for himself. perhaps, we were alike in the fact both our families choose the path we should have gone. the only difference is that unlike me, Ernest was really happy to go down this path (at least at first). he really loved music. he went down this road, but he wanted more."
