why do you hate the starks?

oh god where to start.

first of all, i don’t hate young howard. the howard shown in both c/afta and a/gent carter wasn’t a problem. older howard, shown in the i/ron man movies and then c/acw was an abusive piece of shit. he may not have been physically abusive but it’s absolutely canon that he was neglectful and emotionally abusive. now i don’t even like tony, but no child deserves to be abused, and as someone who went through very similar circumstances but didn’t end up a war criminal i have no sympathy for howard. additionally, and this does kind of go against me not hating young stark, he worked on operation paperclip with p/eggy carter (and i’ve already stated multiple times why i dislike her and everything she fucking did in shield). he willingly worked in the program that hired nazis, including zola who he had a nickname for. i have no sympathy in that regard either, because for someone who held steve in such regard, he immediately went and worked with the man responsible for barnes’ torture and death. he willingly worked with people from hydra. 

i don’t dislike maria necessarily. she likely either enabled the abuse or just sat back and watched, but victims of abuse tend to stay with their abusers, so there’s really no way to dig deep into what kind of a mother she is. 

i shouldn’t have to go into why i hate tony when i’ve stated it a thousand times before in pieces, but i will. he’s a war criminal piece of shit. he’s a billionaire who was originally using his money for clean energy and then basically built a suit instead. he constantly puts people in danger because of his ego. he is responsible for ultron and i won’t argue that point. he blackmailed peter into coming to fight for his side in c/acw without telling him the full scope of the problem and then continued to manipulate him. if we’re stepping into the comics, he was directly responsible for almost killing peter during c/acw as well. he called wanda a weapon of mass destruction, when she is just a girl from a war-torn nation who made a mistake. when bucky and steve were going for attacks that were nonlethal, to disarm the suit and stop tony from attacking. tony was going for fucking kill shots, something confirmed by the directors. he’s a terrible fucking person and his ~uwu trauma~ does not excuse his actions. i could really go on and on but i don’t fucking like tony enough to keep thinking about it.
