#i also like that they incorporated magic into the piece as my only prompt for it was 'him relaxed'

⛧ SELFSHIPTOBER 2024 ⛧
Tumblr media
HELLO ALL! welcome to another year of selfshiptober. i've noticed this is pretty much the 'official' selfship tober event now, which honestly warms my heart! i love seeing what this wonderful community does with my prompts :)
this year, i'm doing things a little differently. EACH DAY HAS TWO PROMPTS ASSIGNED TO IT. the first set is SHIPPY, while the second set is SPOOKY. you may either COMBINE THE TWO PROMPTS TOGETHER or CHOOSE ONE OF THE PROMPTS. the spooky prompts are a bit on the grittier side and probably won't appeal to most, so if you'd like to only use the first set of prompts and completely ignore the second, be my guest! on the other hand, if you prefer the gritter prompts, you can only use the second set of prompts, you can do that too! if you want an extra challenge, you can create a piece that incorporates both of the day's prompts. you can also change your approach depending on how you feel that day!
there are no hard rules for this. YOU CAN START WORKING ON THIS CHALLENGE EARLY, but i encourage you to wait until october to post anything. YOU CAN ALSO CONTINUING WORKING ON IT AFTER OCTOBER ENDS! you can drag this shit out into december for all i care. just DON'T OVERWORK YOURSELF PLEASE.
without further ado, LET US PROCEED TO THE PROMPTS!

I've come to the conclusion that Ezekiel has some kind of inherent luck charm. This came to me from @angelwiththeblue-box who gave me this concept when I first saw the show and I just had to add on and it's now part of my personal canon so.
The first episode I think we see this in is And the Apple of Discord. when he gets the apple nothing actually happens to him??? and the explanation is that he's already the worst version of himself which feels like such bs?? sure, he can be annoying at times and he's a thief, but the narrative never frames this as some sort of moral failing, especially when we find out later on his steals helped a lot of people so this never made any sense to me, so luck charm (obviously this is not the moment that prompted this theory, I'm just going chronologically and this is just one piece in the overarching theory)
In And The Fables of Doom he turns into a fairy tale archetype just like everyone else, but also he kinda doesn't?? at the end of the episode when everyone describes how odd and different their experience was and Ezekiel points out he doesn't feel any different, he just says, "Yeah. Well, everybody tells me I can't do what I want, can't rely on luck, but when a magic spell turns everybody into heroes of legend, who did it turn me into? Me!" I think the story book sort of enhanced the luck to make it more obvious (hence the quarter rolling up a flight of stairs through a hallway) but I think it's clear there's something there from the start.
Less of a compelling fact, but I also want to note how Ezekiel was the first one pulled into the dollhouse in And the Heart of Darkness aka the first one being pulled to safety. It's a little thing for sure, but I wanted to toss it into the ring.
In And the Curse of Cindy I always found it odd Ezekiel was the only one not affected by Cindy's love curse. Yeah, they try and explain it away with the fact that he was already in love with her, but that doesn't make sense since he didn't really remember her, he just kinda went "huh she's kinda familiar" throughout the episode before making the connection later on, and to me, luck charm feels more like an explanation.
And then we have And the Steal of a Fortune. The episode that sparked this whole thing in the first place. In an episode where every character has comically bad luck, Ezekiel is so weirdly immune to it. He's lucky and successful against Fortuna's goons and it's fascinating because even the narrative calls out how odd it is Ezekiel isn't affected-
Eve: How come it isn't affecting you!
Ezekiel, clearly guessing: I guess I broke the spell when I hacked the [slot] machine ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Jake: How the hell do you hack a fight?!?
They could've left Ezekiel's explanation as good enough, but by having Jake question it, it's the narrative telling you to question it, yet it's never brought up again. Plus, it's not like they needed a character to be immune simply to win, like a minute later Eve comes up with a loophole to try doing the opposite thing and it works. I'd also like to point out that this luck of his beats out the luck of Fortuna, who is the goddess of luck. She's not just some creature of the week, she's a goddamn goddess.
I'm sure a lot of this probably wasn't intended to lead to the conclusion that Ezekiel has some sort of inherent luck charm, but it's just something I've noticed while watching the show and have incorporated into my personal canon. If you've got some other thoughts/evidence please add on, I'd love to hear them!

Grimoire/Bos Prompts or Research Topics for the Witch that Doesn’t Know What To Do Next
(Pt. 2/4)
Another list with ideas, as always, these ideas and prompts by no means belong to me, and if you’d like, check out my first post for more prompt-type ideas (hopefully I’ll remember to link the first one before I post this.)
- What does each season mean to you and what are witchy activities, spells, and rituals you can do during these seasons? This one is pretty self-explanatory. A cool idea I had for it is dedicating a page to each season and including something from each season in it (like a pressed leaf for fall, pressed flower for spring, etc.) You can also include how plants or the weather usually looks during each season (An idea courtesy of Molly Roberts on YT).
- If you like fantasy novels-- how their magic differs from real magic, things you wish fantasy authors would incorporate or do, and any phrases that speak to you on a magical level. You could also write a sort of self-analysis about why you like the genre and any possible magical ties. (Ex. maybe you like fantasy novels because you realized it’s the only way you really see magic in media, or maybe it’s indulging the inner child in you that still wants to shoot fire out of your hands).
- Music, Art pieces, or general Artists that give you magical vibes. You can also put the lyrics, the art, or something pertaining to the artist in a page/use it to decorate empty space. This also can tie into pop magic.
- If you play an instrument and have something like a string that can’t be used anymore, write about it and find ways you can magically incorporate it, and if you want, you can find a way to decorate the page with said object. This can be extra fun if you use the instrument for magical workings, and it can also apply to things like old art supplies.
- Your heritage and how you can use it in your craft. This can range from a list of types of magical concepts that relate to your heritage, to whole practices and paths that were made that your far back ancestors would have used. You can list these types of magic and: 1) list the history of them 2) talk about how it’s connected to you [is it personal? Is it something you want to make personal?] 3) Are there factors about it that should be considered? [is it a part of a practice, did another group influence/use it?]. This can be useful because it gives you a way to connect further with your practice and to take a fun adventure where you can learn more about yourself. Always be aware of other cultural factors and don’t appropriate.
- How you prefer leaving offerings. Most likely, you’ve at some point learned how to leave offerings (whether it’s working with deities, or with nature in general), and you’ve found a way to leave offerings that work for you. Maybe you prefer praying/speaking before or after leaving an offering, maybe you just leave an offering with a brief couple of words, or maybe you prefer leaving art you’ve made from paintings to poems. Further, maybe you prefer having an outside altar versus an inside one and vice versa, or any of those things might vary depending on what you’re communicating with. Write about it, and why you do it for future use.

Hi Hello I actually make things sometimes
I don't know if anyone who follows me is interested in this stuff bc I very rarely post things from my own life, but I decided to be a little more active on here besides reblogging funny shit regarding my current hyperfixation.
So, here is the (incomplete) crafting diary of a neurodivergent trans person surviving christmas with the family and the dark and dreadful times (winter) in general by making shit! with my hands!
First: fiber stuff
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I picked up tablet weaving over the last few months of 2023 and made my first pair of somewhat mistake-free shoelaces over the holidays! Only got the pattern completely right on the second try with the red but both laces now get to add a fun little detail to my shoes.
Next I tried a more complicated pattern and experimented a lot, hence the irregular pattern and troubleshooting at the start of the band. I'm now repurposing it as a camera strap and I learned a lot from it tho.
Tumblr media
My current setup is basic cardboard tablets (I had to make extra ones so I had enough for the last band with 30 cards), tying the warp to something sturdy like a bookshelf, and sitting down with a backstrap belt on the other side of the room. I used thin wool yarn for this, which stuck to itself quite a lot, but not too much to be unmanagable, and I really like how the finished product feels.
If anyone's interested, I could make a longer post on how I made the shoelaces, I think it's a very beginner friendly project.
I managed to get my hands on a drop spindle and gave that a try, but I ran out of wool after making a very small amount of very chunky yarn and am currently working out where to best get sth local. It was fun tho!
I also finally finished the knitted scarf that has been in my wip pile for... approximately three years? I started it when I was still in school, feels like an eternity ago. It's just a simple (although very long) red wool scarf, but it keeps me nice and warm in this cold, harsh- *checks weather* ...5°C and neverending rain.
Next up: woodworking!
Noodled around with my grandpa's old dremel that we still had lying around, which resulted in this truly terrifying weapon:
Tumblr media
Behold! I named it Toothling. It's great for poking friends and family when they least expect it.
This was more of a test run to see if it all still works and to try out doing small scale work with wood, now I gotta think of something fun to make. (I say, as if I didn't already have 50 different ideas)
Before that fuckery, I made this magnetic dice box/rolling tray for my lovely partner's birthday.
Tumblr media
Though I don't feel like I can take credit for working the CNC magic on this, I did all the hands-on work with the sanding, assembling the magnets, shellac coating, and whatnot. I'm pretty sure wood is some sort of fruit tree, since it smells strongly of what I suspect might be plum or cherry.
Last but sure as fuck not least: embroidery
This I actually get professional instruction for at uni. I've kinda lost patience for it atm, but mostly because I cannot resist making unnecessarily complicated pieces with tiny little stitches and then am forced to finish it because I do actually kinda need to pass this class. My lecturer keeps telling me not to go so detailed, yet I have proven resistant to her good advice. But, I figured if I have to make two full pieces of embroidery to be graded on and put hours of work into, I might as well choose designs that I can turn into patches for my jacket:
Tumblr media
Catha and Ruidus! I love me some big moon little moon imagery. The prompt was to incorporate most of the techniques/stitches we've learned so far. Added the little gold chain stitch around ruidus for the arcane latticework. It came out a little wonky shape wise, but I love it nonetheless.
Tumblr media
And my most recent wip, a stained glass window design with the Ninth House skull and Gideon's sword behind it, to feed my current Locked Tomb obsession.
And that's it!

Beaver Moon Release Ritual
Tumblr media
Picture from pixabay.com
It is a full moon tomorrow night, the Beaver Moon to be exact. Click here to read more about it. I have been asked what I will be doing for it. And I gathered, why not share it with all of you?
Before I start doing any ritual, I like to cleanse my space with sound. I have a bell for this, but it can be anything that you like. I also like to listen to music, because it gets me in the right headspace to do a ritual. Click here for my full moon playlist on Spotify!
Journaling Every full moon I like to journal and do some prompts. I choose these prompts with the moon's spiritual intentions in mind. For the Beaver Moon these are: Protection, Release, Cleansing, Empathy, Transformation and Preparation. You can journal before or after your ritual. I like to do it before, so that I am in the right headspace for the current full moon. I've chosen for the following journal prompts:
What aspects of my life am I ready to transform or release?
In what ways can I gather and preserve my energy for the winter ahead?
What's a recent situation or emotion that feels like its blocking my progress and how can I work to overcome it?
The Ritual Now let's move on to the actual ritual I will be doing! I have decided to do a releasing ritual, to leave behind anything I don't want in the past year and move on with the things that I do want. For this particular ritual, I have also incorporated colour magic and candle magic.
What do we need?
Neutral oil (I use almond oil, but olive oil is also okay!)
Black pepper (To banish)
Black candle (For new beginnings, but a white candle is also okay!)
Candle holder
Pen
Paper
Rosemary (for cleansing)
Hyssop (for purification)
A heat-safe dish, bowl, cauldron
A lighter or matches
Pester and mortar
The process
Put the Rosemary and Hyssop in the Pester and Mortar. Grind until the herbs are small.
Anoint the black candle with the oil.
Sprinkle your herb mixture on the candle until it's covered to your satisfaction.
Put the candle in the candle holder.
Write down what you want to leave behind in the past year. Personally I like to concentrate on only the three most important things.
Put some black pepper on the paper and fold it closed, preferably folding it away from you.
Light the black candle and recite the following (either out loud or in your head, whatever you are most comfortable with) I leave the past where it belongs, and welcome a fresh start I release all that holds me back, and does not serve my heartI replace my overthinking, with peace and harmonySuch is my magickal energy, so mote it be
Take your folded pieces of paper and burn them in the flame of the candle.
Let the pieces of paper burn completely on the heat-safe dish/bowl/cauldron
Let the candle burn completely down as well
With everything burnt, you can now dispose of the paper remains. You can either throw it in the trash or blow it out in the wind.
And that is my ritual for the Beaver Moon! Like always, feel free to take inspiration. I highly encourage mixing and matching things so that they fit you and your practice! If the herbs I mentioned don't feel right, choose others that fit your needs. The colour of the candle, same story. Make the craft fit you, feel comfortable to you!
I hope this ritual helps you and gives you an idea what to do for the full moon tomorrow! Blessed be!

Um hi!! Aspiring writer here I just wanted to ask if you had any tips on actually getting down what you want your story to be about and forming a general framework for the plot and events?
I have so so many ideas but they stay ideas because I have no clue how to go from there?
Thank you thank you if you do decide to answer and apologies if im bothering you or its a bad time but I think you’re writings very neat and conveys emotions and characters very well so i wanted your input!
Hi! Thank you for compliments, etc. I appreciate that a lot, and emotion and character are really what I think I’m best at.
Structure (framework) and plot are…well, not, but I’ve been working really hard at getting better at these things lately, so I’ll see if I can’t come up with something to give you a hand.
Generally, my writing starts with a story “seed.” This is basically a character and a concept. They look something like “modern fairy tale with an aro ace witch protagonist” (actual story I have written) or, like, “teenage boy finds himself magically bound to a wizard and forced to obey him” (other actual story).
Sometimes this seed is from a prompt or something floating around in my head as a good idea. Sometimes this seed is from the first couple random paragraphs of something I wrote just to write something—it’s hard to write a couple of solid paragraphs without A Character in A Situation.
So for that first story seed, the first couple paragraphs of “modern fairy tale with the aro ace witch” I started with “witch protagonist hanging out on a broom and contemplating a couple and wondering how he could play the role of a fairy tale witch about them.” Because…I don’t know, that was just the first stuff I typed, and it seemed fun to have a witch actually intentionally playing their role in fairy tales?
And then I just keep spinning the Scenario for a while, making stuff up as a I go along. Okay, he’s on a broom above the sky, what if he also has a familiar, what is the familiar saying, what kind of ideas is the protagonist having, how does he even know these people, etc., etc., etc.
And then once I have enough building blocks of just playing improve on a seed for a bit, I take a look at what’s there and what I can do with it. Switching stories here, basically, I have things like, “Oh, only the teenagers are doing anything to fight back against the magical disasters destroying their city…this sounds like a climate change metaphor.” Or, “Hmmm, I have this situation where the characters’ own passions are negatively affecting them…sounds like they have an unhealthy relationship with art/work/etc.” Sometimes this happens mid-first draft. Sometimes this happens after I have a full draft that was created entirely on playing “yes and” with a scenario.
Once I’ve identified these bits and pieces that seem like they’re threaded into the story in multiple places and what’s standing out to me as prominent in the story, it’s time to make sure everyone else sees them. Plot points that are distracting or don’t contribute to a thread get cut. New ones get added to say something else about the topic, or changed to really emphasize a point I want to make or to clarify what was happening, or to sew various story parts together.
In the book I’m writing at the moment, the first draft had this plot arc about a secret underground coven that like, worshiped the main character’s people. It got cut, because while I thought I was going to say a lot about putting people on pillars and how it’s unhealthy, I didn’t really have anywhere for that thread to go, it was kind of messy and weird, and a lot of stuff I wanted to do worked better when I shifted it to focus more on the main character learning to work with people who were resistant to him and bolstering another character and incorporating their opinions into the Discussion—and also I had some idea of where to go with the latter and not the former.
Let’s take a story seed is about the second daughter of a royal family becoming queen, because I haven’t written this story, dangit.
There’s not really any plot points in that seed. Maybe one way toward the end of the book!
So you need to add some more stuff to get it going. Let’s open with her hanging out with her best friend who’s the first son of an Earl.
Now we have a lot. We have plot points about whatever they’re talking about or doing while hanging out—what activities they like to do, or what’s going around them. And, I’ve got a ready-made juxtaposition in there for their succession stories and how they happen and the challenges they face and the story is now about, idk, coming into power or coming into responsibility, or growing up, or facing expectations and what you do about them. And I can use all of that stuff from the first sentence of the paragraph to emphasize those bits.
If they’re about coming into responsibility, you get to write plot points where the two discover all the things their ancestors have been managed silently and behind the scenes (how are they told this? Are they also managing things silently? Like what?). If it’s about what you’re going to do with power, you add in a plot line about them discovering how their parents failed (how do they discover it—is it something they mentioned doing or were seen doing?).
Each of those subplots (and if you’re writing about growing into responsibility, there’s a lot of different ways that manifest and each can have its own subplot branch) branches out into more and more ideas and things you can do to emphasize each point and say what you want to say about whatever the plot/theme is.
I don’t know where you are in your ideas you can’t write down—if you just have a seed, or you have a seed and one theme/point/thing you want to write about and don’t know how to actually branch that into plot points. I think you’re at the latter. So what I say here is: the plot points you pick/choose/write are the ones that seem like they’re going to give you something to say about it and contribute to what you want to say.
If you want to write about growing into power, maybe you don’t need that plot point about our princess sneaking out to hang out with the Enemy, but you do need a scene where she teaches her younger sisters. Hanging out with the Enemy might fit better in a story where she’s learning how to heal political rifts. If the story you’re writing is about both, cool! You can figure out a way to have one or two of those scene do double duty as both and then keep both scenes. Maybe you don’t need a scene where she learns how to handle a sword in favor of a ball where she’s introduced as the heir apparent.
And then there’s…well…how things get resolved says a lot about the topic, you know? If you have a character with an abusive mom, and at the end she forgives her mother, that Says Something Different than if she cuts dies with her mom. And what is says depends on a lot of details, of course, but it’s really important to keep in mind that how the story ends really is your final statement on the matter.
I…hope this helped? I think I answered your question anyway. This is about where I’m at with my writing and how I’m trying to make it work, anyway.

Get to know the Mun
respond to the prompts out of character!
what made you pick up the current muse(s) you have?
WARNING: MASSIVE CRACK-LEVEL HEADCANONS AND CROSSOVERS AHEAD. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
Ok so I’m kinda weird cuz I love crossovers & I’ve been working on this silly little crossover narrative/story where my OC & the main 6 featured in this blog (Morty, Eusine, Steven, N, AZ & Guzma) all represent the 7 Chaos Emeralds and the first 7 Pokemon Regions. What can I say? I’m a sucker for symbolism. Obviously, the Sonic symbolism was only implied and never really affected any of the rp threads I wrote for here (and I’d obviously never force that narrative on anybody), but like the golden hedgehog wielding those magic mcguffins of chaotic power, I too found great pride and joy in writing for my favorite Pokemon characters from my childhood & adolescence. They are my gems, hence the name of the blog. ...As for the other two (Winona & Lysandre) I was just testing them out ._.;
is there anything you don’t like to write?
Besides the obvious (pedophilia/adult-minor ships, gore & incest), I strictly avoid NSFW (and by extension rape) for the sake of my sanity. Sure, one could argue that it’s due to my religion (I’m Christian), but honestly? It’s super boring and serves nothing to the plot. Sure, it may start off spicy and fun, but it gets stale very quickly, so that's why I never write it. Not to say I'm against NSFW rp in general, but I'll just stick with reading smut fics on Ao3 that do a much better service writing NSFW than I do ._.;
is there anything you really enjoy writing?
They say write what you know, and the only thing I know how to write is angst and character death. I've tried writing other things in the past like fluff or romance, but every time I've done so it always ended up being angsty, so I suppose this is my fate/curse now lol. It just comes natural to me, and it's the most fun thing for me to write, especially in the moments when there's that tiny sliver of hope that can seep through...only to be hopelessly crushed by my angsty hands c:
how do you come up with headcanons?
I'm noticing a strange trend in my headcanons where I'll connect two random pieces of info together: The biggest one probably being Guzma as a reincarnation of W.D. Gaster. To this day this is still a weird habit of mine, but it also contributes to my love for writing angst because I get the freedom to create more headcanons and backstory as to why this connection is possible. And usually, with headcanons like these, it all chalks up to past mistakes, curses, reincarnations, and all that fun morally-grey afterlife stuff, which also contributes to the angsty writing c:
Another headcanon I love to write is giving muses magical powers! This is pretty much a staple to my writing. I don't believe I ever got to fully develop this headcanon for my muses in this blog, but with 18 different elemental typings for Pokemon, it's fun to give my muses Pokemon typings as well to fit their character, like making Eusine a waterbender or Lysandre a firebender. It's also fun to figure out a narrative that can incorporate these powers for further character development and growth: Eusine will always carry a special place in my heart for being the waterbender that wanted to learn from the waterbending master (i.e. Suicune) 🥺
do you write in silence or do you play music?
Honestly I don't know how y'all write with music without having to either change the music cuz it doesn't fit the muse or because you have an earworm that's been ingrained in your mind for 9 days but yeah that's why I don't write with music c':
do you plan your replies or wing them?
Uh...define "planning"? I mean I'll proofread my responses 2 or 3 times to make sure I get everything that I want to address in my rp partner's response (which may contribute to how long it takes for me to reply I'm a bit of a perfectionist c':), but other than basic plotting I suppose I mostly wing it?
do you enjoy shipping?
Depends on the character and/or rp partner I'm writing with. Not to say I actively avoid it, but I feel like I need to get a feel for the writing first before I ship? There are some characters that I write for that are more accessible to ships than others (if that makes any sense), so it really depends on my mood and characterization ._.;
what’s your alias/name? Gen
age? 25
birthday? August 18th
favorite color? Blue, Yellow, Green, Orange and Purple. In that order.
favorite song?
Why you gotta make me choose one c':
last movie you watched?
The Kung Fu Panda trilogy (The 4th movie broke my brother c':)
last show you watched?
Uuuuuuh I haven't watched tv in a long while so probably Owl House?
last song you listened to?
I was listening to Camellia on loop as I was answering this lol
favorite food? Ramen & Sushi
favorite season? Winter
do you have a tumblr best friend? You're all my best friends 🥺
TAGGED BY: @vanillahub by technicality (thanks pal ^-^)

For the writing ask 🙏
7. Any worldbuilding you’re particularly proud of?
12. Are there any tropes you used to dislike but have grown on you?
13. Are there any tropes you used to like but don’t anymore?
44. If you take/write prompts: do you prefer dialogue or scenario/narrative prompts?
Thank you so much!
7. Any worldbuilding you’re particularly proud of?
Absolutely! I am so proud of the way I've incorporated the concept of belief in my magic system for my WInx rewrite! First of all, belief kind of plays a part in what kind of magic a person ends up with, although that's more a matter of subconscious self-actualization. Basically, the core aspect of your character manifests into your core magic. Secondly, belief also leads to manifestation not just of magic but also of different essences. For example, the only reason the Dragon Fire exists is because the majority of the people in the Magic Dimension believed in the myth about it (it was their way of rationalizing the prosperity of Domino) and that actually created the Dragon Fire. The Ancestral Witches themselves are also manifestations but they come from the negative emotions that people experience towards Domino in particular. The Shadow Phoenix was created by the belief that every power has an opposite and so the Dragon Fire must have one as well. And if the Great Dragon created the universe, then her opposite must be a creature with opposite aka destructive powers (the Shadow Fire) and opposite intentions (to destroy the universe). The creatures from the Legendarium are also manifested on a similar principle. People's imaginations created powerful myths and gave them shape. And then people's fear of the creatures in those myths charges them with energy that allows Acheron to bring them to life through the power of that fear that's concentrated in the collective subconscious. And lastly, belief is integral for the ultimate fairy transformation - Believix. It's a form that can only be achieved once a fairy has managed to internalize unwavering belief in herself. And even then, in moments of self-doubt Believix can stop working until the fairy can find their confidence in themselves again.
12. Are there any tropes you used to dislike but have grown on you?
I guess body swap and genderbending. Body swap because I think it can be really good if the point is for the characters to learn what it's like to be the other person in particular, not just a different gender (as is usually the case). It can help drive home certain characterization choices or help with relationship development and it could be a lot of fun as well! Genderbending I used to dislike because usually it's just the characters but they're a different gender and I see no point in that. The very fact that they are a different gender would certainly change the way that they experience the world and if you don't incorporate that in the story, what's the point of this trope? But if you do incorporate it, it can be a very good tool about exploring how the character's gender reflects on their view of the world and themselves. (Not that I've read a piece that pulls that off but I still think it could be amazing if done right.)
13. Are there any tropes you used to like but don’t anymore?
The only thing I can think of is a particular iteration of enemies to lovers and that's Nina and Matthias in Six of Crows. I was so crazy about this pairing but I just reread the duology and, uh... I am not very down with how chill Matthias is about genocide at first. I know that he was very young and angry and grief-stricken when he was manipulated into that mindset and he really changes later on but I was left feeling a lot of dread over his earlier views so I don't know how to feel about the whole romance anymore.
44. If you take/write prompts: do you prefer dialogue or scenario/narrative prompts?
I don't really have a preference but I think dialogue prompts could be harder to match to a given character. Every character has their specific voice and sometimes the prompt you're given does not sound like the character you're given at all. I firmly believe that any character can be written to do pretty much anything you want if you're good enough to pull it off but there are simply some particular word choices that would not work with certain characters which makes dialogue prompts trickier.

Blurbs On Writing (2022 Edition)
Tumblr media
I had this idea for a little thought compilation about my writing a while back, but I held back, unsure whether I wanted to write it all down. If I am honest, the thought of sharing something personal scared me, and still does. Today, I decided that I do want to look back on my writing exploits over the past year and add my observations. These will be at random, and I'll note them down as they come into my head. You can find the list after the break.
I enjoy writing for someone (I like the challenge), and teasing the recipient with excerpts or talking about their idea with them makes me so happy. There's something special about sharing a piece of my writing with someone or dedicating it to a particular person. Unfortunately, I don't get to do this nearly enough, and my anxiety makes it difficult to reach out to people. Occasionally, I'll jump over my shadow and ask, but it takes a lot of effort, and most of the time, I do not have the energy.
I guess not many people like reading unfinished or WIP multi-chapter things, and I understand why it doesn't work for some folx, but I've discovered that I love writing this way. It's hard for me to withdraw into a corner, quietly work on something long, and only share it once it's completely done. I don't know how other writers feel about creating their work and/or sharing it as they go, but my personal perception is that even if an author posts a chapter a week or every other day, the work is usually already finished. I may be entirely mistaken, so don't consider this opinion etched in stone. For me, writing a chapter and sharing it is thrilling. The anticipation of being able to share an update, the readers' excitement, and potential interaction via comments/messages. I thrive on that. It often lets me incorporate ideas, tweak future chapters slightly, or sometimes change course entirely.
I absolutely adore one-word prompts. There's something magical about building a short story around a prompt. Sometimes the story is centred around the prompt; other times, it's just a support, an aid. Whichever it is, it's always exciting. I particularly enjoy noun prompts, though I don't limit myself in that regard. The way these tiny prompts spark an idea is magical, but it's also frustrating when you stare at a prompt and draw a complete blank. Especially when that uninspiring prompt is part of a challenge.
Describing scenes, particularly outdoor scenes such as a forest, a meadow, a cave, or a beach (to name but a few), is such fun. I like painting a pretty picture, going into detail about what's happening, what can be seen, how things smell, what they look like... It's not been a big focus for me before, but in 2022 I really made it my priority, and I feel it's elevated my writing. I've had a few lovely comments from readers who enjoyed it, so I guess I'm on the right track.
Smells and tastes are a delight to describe, and I first dipped my toes into making that a priority when I took part in a fest in 2020, but it took time for me to turn it into a habit. My Google search has since learnt that I like to research these things. Thrilling. Thank you, Google, my trusted research partner.
If I can make it happen, I like it when my characters spent time in the kitchen. Growing up, a lot of life happened in our kitchen (mainly because my dad was a kitchen person, but it's also my inner cat, associating the kitchen with warmth, chatter, and coffee, which awakens the dragon in me), and that shows in my writing. I think I did it unconsciously until I, at one point, added the tag "life happens in the kitchen" to one of my fics on AO3, and now writing scenes in the kitchen has become a staple of mine.
I never thought I might enjoy writing sprints with other people, but for a brief period, I got to try this and found it delightful. It tickled my competitive side. Perhaps I'll dip my toes into that again at some point...we'll see.
I've gotten much better at showing rather than telling how a character feels, and it's become such a joy to add in all those little descriptors that my readers can hopefully identify with when they read my works.
Eyes seem to be something I focus a lot on when describing a person. Eyes are stunning, and I truly enjoy describing them, especially the colour and how it makes the other person feel. Knowing that one of my characters is smiling or laughing or just genuinely happy makes me happy, and I always quietly hope that the same applies to my readers.
I'm no longer all that fussed about writing super-detailed sex scenes. I go there, but in recent months I've found that stripping away some of the details of the actual "this goes there in this way" and replacing it with feelings or a character's reaction gives me much more joy. Perhaps it's loosely related to a recent discovery I made about myself, or perhaps it's just my writing evolving, but I find this interesting. We'll see where this goes. One thing that I'm very sure about, though, is that my love for smut will always burn brightly.
Pets or animals in general. I love including a pet or an animal as a character, especially when I can give them an attitude, a quirk, or something that makes the pet or animal a delight to read. I've invented a few furry/feathery/scaly companions over the past year, and it's something I want to focus on even more. I'd be happy to have 50K of one character + a menagerie of animals, and while I don't know how my readers would feel about that, a writer can dream, can they not?
I don't especially feel like I'm part of my favourite fandoms. This might be a sad revelation, but it's true. While I thrive on making new connections and responding to messages/comments (after all, I am a chatterbug), I sadly am not the kind of person to reach out to people. It takes me forever to decide to take the plunge, and my anxiety always wreaks havoc on every attempt. I no longer feel confident enough to make the first move. I overthink, worry, and convince myself that there isn't a space for me. On a few occasions, it's made me want to stop writing, but I have since learnt not to give in to that impulse. My writing is all mine. It's something I would never give up, not for anyone. Still, not having that sense of belonging makes it hard to connect. I tried for a while, but I just don't have that much strength (for personal reasons, I won't elaborate any further).
Lastly, (and to end this on a positive note) I have learnt not to compare myself to other writers, whether they've been published or whether they're fanfic writers whose works I gobble up like coffee. Occasionally, the feeling still creeps in, but for the most part, I manage to ignore it. To continue to grow as a writer, I need to be able to appreciate without feeling like reading a gorgeous piece of writing makes me want to give up on my own writing. Instead, I allow other works to push me towards doing better.

Kinktober Day 27- Toys
Tumblr media
Drumroll please....featuring Craig and Iris Foster! From my Magic and Miracles FFXV AU wher Iris is the former Iris Amicitia. and now married to her literal big hunk of a man, Craig. Who is like 6'6 and 400lbs of POWER. (He is both a strong man competitor and he's the other half of Foster and Foster Construction, a construction business he co-owns with his dad, Craig Foster Senior. Craig's uncle who is his dad's younger brother- and his wife- own Fosters Designs Incorporated where they design custom homes among other things where Selena works as a house designer/interior decorator. And Craig and Iris are building their dream house. Craig doing so, quite literally with his own two hands with lots of help from freinds and family.
Fun Fact. Craig is the only man alive that makes Gladio feel small. But they're cool and good brothers in law and Iris REALLY has a thing for the big strong but sweet and gentle type. Which Craig is the epitome of that. Also, look at that RING that is Sylva giving him a sweetheart deal because if her parents hadn't been in the hospital business, they would have been in the jewlery business. And would have been just as well known as the Winstons.
A billion and one thanks to @starsandskies for her Kinktober prompts. This is short and sweet. But only two more left and it's not December yet! Yay! Even though it is the middle of November. It still counts.
Kinktober Day 27- Toys
“So what new toys did you get me?” Iris asked as she giddily looked through the box that Craig had ordered, expecting to see a new piece of exercise equipment but to her surprise and delight, it wasn’t that kind of toy.
It was vibrator that you wore in your underwear. The pure salaciously and practically evil giggle she made was both adorable yet, strangely, exciting for her husband Craig.
“So when did you want to try it out?” Craig asked.
“Right now!” She said.
“It has to charge first.” Craig pointed to the fact that it was rechargeable.
“Dang it.” Iris grumped before she impatiently unboxed it and plugged it in and whined when the light blinked red.
“Come on, I need help with the house anyway. We can play with it when we get back.” Craig insisted as he urged his wife out of their condo and back to the house he was building for her. The basement was already dug, the foundations were poured, the framework was in place. It was getting it’s roof and the rest of the plumbing and electrical work was already in too as the windows were now being installed. And frankly Craig thought it was pretty awesome that not only did he get the materials for this house at cost, he actually got paid to build his own house. Granted along with all the houses he was still in the process of building for his other friends and family. But he took extra pride in this one as he had made sure that Iris would be perfectly happy with it and it would be a big enough house to fit him and his extra large size.
So Iris wasn’t disappointed for long as she helped make sure all the windows were installed correctly as she could still only imagine how great it was going to look once it was all done. Because the next step was drywall then floors, then paint then finishing work and then finally moving in with all the furniture, most of which was sitting in storage because they had gotten some amazing furniture on clearance.
Then Craig got a call on his phone as he was in another room making sure the windows were installed correctly in there too before he came looking for his wife.
“Hey Hun? Pash and Gladio want to know if we want to go out to dinner. Mom just flew back from her trip with the boys and everyone else is meeting them at the steakhouse by the airport.” Craig informed her as he had the phone held to his chest.
“Yes, of course, that sounds great.” She beamed.
“I might need a shower first though.” She realized as she used her shirt to wipe off the sweat from her forehead.
“Yup, we’ll be there.” Craig agreed as he and Iris got back into his truck and quickly drove home to get cleaned up and dressed as Iris put on just a bit of makeup too while Craig noticed that the toy was now fully charged and pocketed it as he downloaded the app and paired it with his own phone while she was in the bathroom.
“Ready Babe?” Iris asked as she exited the bathroom, looking stunning as always since she had forgone the pixie cut and really let her hair grow out the older she got.
“Yup.” He smiled as he made sure the dogs were out in the yard before they got back in the truck.
Once they got to the restaurant, Craig stood so that Iris and the other ladies could sit and wait for their large party to be seated before Regis came in carrying Alexis while Noct had Jaxon in his carseat from the car while Ignis had the diaper bag as a backpack on his back before Iris happily picked Jaxon up out of his carseat, and happily kissed his chubby cheeks and began talking some beautiful Spanish to him that he always seemed to like to hear as Craig simply smiled proudly to see Iris do so. She was going to be one hell of a good mom. When she was ready to be of course.
So far they were with the couples who were waiting until thier houses were done before they started to expand their families, but others didn't seem to want to wait. Gladio and Pashmina had already had a little boy and a new baby girl and Pashmina was probably going to be pregnant with baby number three pretty soon. Luche and Ada had London and Ada was pregnant again, this time with a little girl as they were still figuring out baby names. And now with Noctis and Ignis adopting two children. Thier friend and family circle was still growing. And Luna and Nyx and Crowe and Libertus were back for a visit. With Crowe bringing Raven with her as Tredd was holding her and Raven just adored Tredd and did not want anyone but Tredd to hold her, which made Tredd happy and proud to see little Raven getting so big.
But Iris didn’t get to hold Jaxon for long before he wanted his grandmother to hold him as Sylva laughed as she took him from Iris and held him and cooed to him and rocked him before he could get a chance to even get fussy. Iris happily handed him over before she came and stood next to Craig who was still looking over a menu as he talked with the other guys before she felt something in his pocket between her hip and his leg.
“What’s that?” Iris asked as she moved her hip around to feel a little better.
“Your new toy. It was charged when we got home. Didn’t know if you’d…” Craig began to murmur to her quietly before she slyly pulled it out of his pocket and transferred it to her own purse.
“Excuse me, I need to go to the bathroom.” She excused herself with a very giddy smile as she quickly went to the bathroom before she eagerly took it out and giggled evilly before she realized she didn’t have any lube and he hadn’t gotten the remote.
“Aw,” Iris complained as she realized what was missing.
“Everything ok?” Luna asked when she was in the next stall over.
“No. Craig got me a new toy but forgot the remote.” Iris answered.
“Can I see it?” She asked as she stuck her hand uder the stall wall divider in the bathroom before Iris handed it over.
“Oh this doesn’t need one. It has an app. Nyx and I got one of these too. Here.” She handed it back before she passed one of her little bottles of lube.
“I don’t think I’ll need that.” Iris offered.
“Trust me dinner is going to take at least an hour, you’ll need it. Just trust me on this.” Luna insisted.
“Ok fine.” Iris grabbed the little bottle and lubed up before she used toilet paper to wipe off her hands and to hand it back so lube wouldn’t get on outside of the bottle.
“Ok, is it on?” Luna asked.
“Yup.”
“And now put it in.” Luna instructed.
“In.”
“Good, kegal that baby to keep it in as you stand and pull up your underwear if you’re wearing any and your jeans.” Luna coached before Iris did before she flushed and then left the stall to wash her hands.
“Ok, now, let’s download the app.” Luna said before Iris got a text from Craig.
‘Is it in?’
‘Yeah’ Iris texted back before Craig grinned rather deviously and turned it on.
“Holy fucking shit!” Iris splurted as she grabbed ahold of the counter as the first jolt of pleasure came from within.
“Ah, I see Craig has the app already on his phone.” Luna giggled herself.
“Yeah, fuck, how does Stella do this with a straight face?” Iris asked right as Stella herself walked in.
“Woah, you ok?” Stella asked Iris.
“First time using a toy in public, Craig has the app.” Luna informed her.
“Oh! Nice, which one?” She asked before Luna whispered the answer as Iris slowly tried to regain her composure.
“Nice!” Stella laughed.
“How do you do this all the time with a straight face?” Iris asked as she clenched her hands to the counter as she was breathing heavy.
“Well first of all, don’t go full tilt the whole way, have him turn it down and then build up from there.” Stella coached.
“Ok, ok.” Iris said as she texted Craig to turn the intensity down if he wanted her to come out of the bathroom at all before she breathed in relief when he turned it down to it’s lowest setting.
“Oh, ok, that’s much better.” Iris blew out a breath of relief.
“And that thing stays charged for a couple of hours. Please tell me you have lube.” Stella began.
“Yeah, I gave her some.” Luna said.
“Well, since you’re gonna have some fun, I am too.” Stella said before she purposefully got in her purse and got her matching one on and in before she texted Tredd that she was ‘free to play’ before Tredd smiled brightly and got into his own app and turned it on to Stella’s favorite programed sequence.
“Oh yeah, that’s it.” Stella sighed happily before she came out and washed her hands too.
Stella, Luna and Iris returned to the group just as they were getting seated as Iris sat next to Craig and gave him a meaningful look as she sat down and just as she was starting to get used to it, he turned it up. They barely got their drink orders in as Iris was happy to use the menu as a shield and couldn’t even figure out what she wanted to eat because she was pretty sure she was going to bite her lip in half to keep herself from squirming or grinding right there in the seat and thankfully by the time the waitress was ready to get her order, Iris was able to at least order for herself.
By the time the appetizers came, Iris was eager to stuff food in her mouth to keep her from speaking or making any other noises as she felt her breathing pattern through her nose betrayed her but thankfully, Stella was laughing and telling jokes and carrying on and keeping all the attention on her so Iris wouldn’t feel that much more exposed or observed too closely.
When the salad came, she was in the home stretch and when Craig went to grab for his phone, she immediately grabbed it out of his hands to keep him from changing it anymore and grabbed his arm so tight she nearly drew blood from her fingernails digging into the flesh of his forearm before he moved his arm down under the table and simply held her hand as she squeezed it as tight as she could before she pretended to look through her purse for some tylenol or something because of the almost pained expression she wore.
Then her drink was refilled and she only grinded a little in her seat as she finally rode out the orgasm before she got into his phone and turned it off before she made too much of a scene and blew out a breath of relief as her cheeks flushed but the tension in her lower back finally eased.
She gave Craig a look that said if he turned this blessed thing on again, she was going to stab him with her steak knife. Which got him to snort a laugh but nod that he was going to leave it alone until she was ready to "play" again.
She gave him the phone back as he bit his lips to keep his grin from spreading too far on his face and nodded in understanding before she looked over at Luna who gave her a questioning look before Iris gave her a subtle nod and the sublte thumbs up that she had cum before Luna gave her a thumbs up and nod of solidarity as Stella simply beamed proudly.

A Day in the life of an SSO Librarian ✨ Pt. 4
Concert Version
〖 ᴺᴼᵂ ᴾᴸᴬᵞᴵᴺᴳ : Loading Parts 〗
Prior to rehearsals and concert days, we always prepare to load in the scores for the repertoire at least 2 weeks in advance into a library case that goes out to the venues. In the case, there will be a maximum of 3 batches of concert scores on standby.
Tumblr media
Each instrument has a folder and the score parts will be slotted in along the order of the program cue - convenient for the musicians to know what order are they playing.
The library case must always be kept neat and organised, for the musicians may come forward in search for their respective score parts when they need some checking to do.
〖 ᴺᴼᵂ ᴾᴸᴬᵞᴵᴺᴳ : Setting Stage 〗
Every rehearsal mornings, we are tasked to report 30 minutes earlier than the appointed rehearsal timing to do our routine - set all score parts onto the respective music stands and make sure that everything is in order before the musicians swarm in.
Before a concert starts, we are to make sure that all of the score parts are present in their respective folders on the music stands and in the right order according to the program cue.
Tumblr media
^ this is the esplanade concert hall, people setting up the stage before musicians show up
〖 ᴺᴼᵂ ᴾᴸᴬᵞᴵᴺᴳ : Standby 〗
During the concert, we are on standby-mode to prepare for troubleshooting and receiving enquiries. Musicians may come up to us for human errors made in the process of score preparation (e.g. wrong bowings). Often, musicians request to have practice parts instead of the original score parts for them to bring home to practice. We would have to take note to print it out in an A4 booklet and delivering it to them as soon as possible. We discourage them to bring back the original parts as there may be chances that they might lose them by accident.
Sometimes, there may be changeovers in between pieces due to the change in the number of musicians or position. During changeovers, we are to standby at the side of the stage and make sure that the folders don't get mixed up. Musicians may get frustrated over receiving wrong folders and thus affect the whole concert/performance.
〖 ᴺᴼᵂ ᴾᴸᴬᵞᴵᴺᴳ : Concerts 〗
These are the concerts I've worked for:
Conducting Workshop
The Music of Hans Zimmer
SSO in your Community / Lunchtime Concert / In the Gardens
Chloe Chua and He Ziyu Concert
Seika Ishida plays Chopin Concert
SSO National Day Concert
(A short snippet of the Hans Zimmer's concert rehearsal!)
During the concert period, I find immense joy in the opportunity to witness the orchestra performing live. Being in such close proximity, just a few meters away, provides a rare and invaluable experience. The allure of being right there in the midst of the musical magic is irresistible, prompting me to keenly observe and absorb every nuance.
In these moments, I can't help but indulge in a bit of "eavesdropping" on the musicians (haha!). Their unique styles of playing each instrument, the technical mastery they exhibit, and the sheer musicality in their performance become a wellspring of inspiration for my own compositions. It's like a firsthand lesson, a chance to "steal" techniques that I can incorporate into my work.
The conductors, with every nuanced movement and gesture, becomes a captivating focal point. Observing how they shape phrases and lead the orchestra with expressive gestures adds another layer to my learning.
In essence, these concert experiences serve as an enriching source of inspiration, offering a unique insight into the intricate world of orchestral performance. The proximity to the live music allows me to absorb not only the sound but also the visual and emotional aspects, enhancing my understanding and influencing my approach to composition.

Note
for the fic writer questions... 4, 5, 27... and 10 !!
=^.^= <3 I'm just gonna pic a few of my fics at random!
4. What detail in grasp the nettle are you really proud of?
How Keldar is able to knock out a mage with a sign in one hit. This is part of a bigger story where it would get elaborated on more, but Griffins are known as the more magical of the Witcher schools, right?
So, they're probably all really strong at signs. Especially an elder Griffin.
I head-cannon that when mages go wrong (whether that be genuine or politically motivated), they contract Griffins as bounty hunters to track down and bring them in for sentencing/ jail. Keldar has had centuries of experience tracking and capturing mages.
5. What do you wish someone would ask you about nothing more to say? Answer it now!
Why/how were they looping?
A long time ago, I read a fic called Turtle Loops that was pure crack in the best ways. Apparently there is a whole universe of fics built on this premise? IDK but I thought it would be neat if there was something like this but for Witcher. I chose my favorite version of each character (Book!Geralt, Netflix!Jaskier, and Game!Yennefer) and ran with it.
I originally wanted this to run a little longer and actually have all three jumping into Book!Geralt's timeline at the proper time, but I ran out of time. Flash fic can be very unforgiving like that! :D I might come back to it someday if the bunny bites again.
27. How long did it take to write Vi Moxt Miirik? Describe the process.
I got the idea for this story sometime late October/Early November of last year. I started the document on Nov. 9th, 2021. I was searching through the Witcher wiki for some other story and fell down a rabbit hole, leading to some interesting articles on other wikis about the origins of specific monsters on the Continent.
I love non-human!Jaskier so much and thought, wow, Jaskier would make an excellent [redacted]. I also had just finished both The Last Wish and Sword of Destiny, and really wanted to incorporate a few of the other short stories into the Netflix!Canon.
I started the story, but I kept skipping around terribly. I wrote a lot for it, though, and I even had a general outline of when I wanted the stories to take place; but the connective tissue just never felt right to me. So I tossed it to the back burner for a while, adding a little bit here and there, but mostly left it alone. It's sitting at 28,224 words right now, and still nowhere near done.
Then, I see this year's What About The Bard?'s prompt list and... it clicked. It was originally in Geralt POV, so I switched it to Jaskier's and the ideas just worked so much better like that. Fun fact, the italic parts of the story are bits and pieces from the original Geralt POV version cut down or finished up. Most of the dialogue is the same across the different fics.
Who knows? I might get the inspiration to finally finish up the original version one day and post it up along side the WATB Jaskier version.
10. How do you decide what to write?
I get ideas from the most random of places. Flash fic has been great for letting loose random plots; the time limit means you have no time to dawdle. You just write and hope it makes sense when you're done.
I have a couple of documents I keep running lists on of ideas / pairings / concepts that I want to write. I have a fic in the works that's Young Vesemir/Guxart/Keldar OT3 set in the same universe as grasp the nettle.
Discord shenanigans are also very inspiring. I wrote a Sentinel/Guide AU because someone in a server was talking about how much they loved them and how much of a staple trope it was 'back in the day'. I have several rare-pairs that I want to write for, just so a friend isn't the only one making content for it.

HC: Kissing Under the Mistletoe (New Dateables)
I want to apologize for how long this took me, but I also want to be realistic to the people who decided to follow me. I told in my bio that I am not a consistent writer and this prompt took me a bit, because I wrote Barbatose's story 5 different times, because I would finish one section and come up with an idea I liked better and wanted to incorporate it. As you might have been able to tell, I had to quit or this would never be posted. Anyway enjoy.
TW: I still don't think so, but if any it would be kissing. Reader: Gender Neutral.
Tumblr media
Diavolo:
Human world traditions? Sign him up. Seriously, after a day or two of Lucifer not budging on a holiday party, you knew what to do. Go to Diavolo in the middle of RAD and mention how you have been trying to convince Lucifer. He can’t say no to this man, and you will get your party. Diavolo didn’t know about the mistletoe tradition, but just thought it was cute when you explained to him why the boys hanged mistletoe everywhere.
Diavolo didn’t plan on kissing you, he knew that Barbatos and Lucifer would have some remarks about his prince image, but when the opportunity present himself, isn’t it his duty to welcome human world traditions in open arms and respect? Shouldn’t he participate to show how much he wants to unify the realms? That’s why when Diavolo stated he wanted to practice his selfie skills with you and take a picture to remember this day he didn’t see what would be wrong with perfectly placing you under the door way next to the tree. That tree that you and Levi spent decorating, and at least has 2 mistletoes around it. Right when Diavolo went to take the picture was when he stole a kiss.
His kiss was shocking to say the least, sparks felt like they were engulfing your body in the brief moment of the kiss.
~After looking back at the photo disappointment couldn’t comprehend the emotion he was feeling. He thought that he was going to have a memento of that night and participating in a human world tradition. However, when looking at the photo he couldn’t tell between the blurry shifty photo of the wall of HoL. Lucifer and Barbatos was more than pleased that the only photographic evidence of what happened was illegible.
Barbatos:
Walking down the corridors of RAD, you couldn’t help to skip a bit, with getting the green light to host the party, it is time for planning and preparation. Saying that you paid attention in class would be a lie, but at the end of the day you figured out what everyone would be tasked to do, and you put yourself on the food part to make sure that the party still maintains a human world feel. After planning the menu you still had one problem. The drinks. You want something classic to make Lucifer and some nonwild individuals comfortable but with a fun spin to still keep the others happy. You needed Barbatos’s help.
When Barbatos arrived you asked if he could taste the drink to see if you got the recipe correct. That’s when Solomon walked in. Barbatos saw the mess happen. He knew that throwing that fruit cake was not an accident, and as a way to reward the sacrifice that you made he decided to help clean up the scattered bits of cake and broken plate before Solomon could think of a way to fix his dessert. Helping out and cleaning was something that wasn’t expected but also wasn’t that surprised.
Gathering all the pieces into the trash, Barbatos came up behind you near the cauldron stove, lit with spiced devil cider, he asked if he could taste the specialty drink now. Holding your breath you tried to spot a reaction from the poised devil. Looking at the spices around the cauldron, you see that he added a bit more cinnamon, some more anise and stirred. Bringing the wooden spoon to your lips “try this now.” A harmony of the flavors couldn’t mask the feel of Barbatos against your lips. “There it should be perfect now.” With that Barbatos went back to the group seeing if Diavolo needed anything.
Barbatos’s kiss was reserved. He didn’t feel comfortable enough to show too much affection in public yet. He knows what could be, but that doesn’t always mean that this is the timeline that has his desired outcome, and he knows to respect you and your choices.
~Barbatos wouldn’t normally be someone to show so much affection in a somewhat public area, which is why Simeon and Luke needed to take a moment to actually realize what had happened. Luke was wondering if you were okay, and if you needed some mouthwash, or something stronger to get rid of a demons kiss. Simeon on the other hand was trying to stop Luke from invading in your personal time and telling him that if you really needed help there are multiple people here ready to rush to help you.
Simeon:
Simeon actually didn’t kiss you the day of the party. After seeing everyone avoiding Asmo, or trying to execute their plan to kiss you, Simeon thought it would be best if he didn’t attempt but give you a person you wouldn’t have to worry about during the party, however he wasn’t going to miss the chance if it presented itself to him again, and that is just what he planned on making sure happened.
Simeon showed up the next day to help clean up, knowing full well that most of the boys would need a morning or a day to recuperate before trying to do anything productive. So with some of Luke’s homemade cookies in hand he knocked on the HoL doors expecting only you to be awake.
During clean up Simeon and you became a pair of cleaning and straightening heroes. Placing pillows and blankets in the correct places, grabbing all the dishes into the sink to start washing them, Simeon offered to help dry and put away. Turning you head to thank him, you two started discussing how the party went and wanted to make sure that each other had fun. “I saw that a lot of people kissed you MC.” “Yeah, it’s a human world tradition, when you are under a mistletoe your are suppose to kiss.” “Aren’t we under one now?” Looking up to see that there has been a mistletoe above this sink the whole time Simmeon leans down to meet your lips.
If an angel’s food cake could be transformed into a kiss, this would be that kiss. Simeon’s kiss was light and made you want to melt against him, sadly it was quick.
~Without realizing it Simeon’s D.D.D was taking a video when he placed it by the sink. To this day. Simeon still does not know about the video.
Luke:
N/a
Solomon:
You knew Solomon was trying, you knew that he was just trying to follow human world customs and bring some food to the party. You knew Solomon just didn’t know how bad his cooking actually is. What you didn’t know was how to dispose of this multi-dimension time-shiftng poison before anyone could eat the spicy devil fruit “cake”.
Solomon wanted to walk with you into the kitchen to make sure that you have a place at the table that can fit this monstrosity, when Solomon noticed the mistletoe hanging over the door way. Twirling you around Solomon kissed you. While Solomon’s kiss was nice, you found it to be your perfect opportunity and drop the cake, purposefully face down with as much force as you could muster.
Kissing Solomon was an experience. Solomon’s lips started out hard with little movement, where he softly started to kiss you and started to slowly back away. His kiss felt like you could be here for eternity, but only think it was a second, and you are not quite sure if that is due to magic, the interesting technique he used, or a different reason.
~All of the brothers saw this happening, and you should be thankful that Barbatos took you away so you could avoid the yelling, threatening, and maniacal giggling that was happening in the next room. When Solomon got back to Purgatory Hall you made sure that his enchantments and locks were strong against his room.

“Mr. Weasley!”
Umbridge’s voice is shrill, and it immediately pulls Fred out of his daydream-like state, but not quickly enough for him to turn his attention toward his professor and avoid making incredibly embarrassing eye contact with you. The entire class, much to his dismay, turns to glance at him -- you included. It’s unlike him to feel so insecure, so embarrassed, but alas -- here he is.
“Yes, Professor?”
“Is there a reason,” Umbridge hisses, the edges of her lips curling into a rather evil smirk, “that you’ve chosen to completely ignore me during the lesson?”
Fred considers this for a moment. He could take this opportunity to explain to his professor that yes, now that you mention is, there is a reason. A huge reason. He could then proceed to tell you about all of the overwhelming feelings that have seemed to take over him the last few weeks. It could be a grand gesture, couldn’t it? Scooping you up into his arms, sliding a hand around the back of your neck, telling you just exactly what keeps him up at night -- that adorable smile of yours, and the pineapple scent in your hair. It’d be all the castle would be able to talk about, wouldn’t it? Plus, to be able to ignore Umbridge even more and do something so utterly abysmal in the middle of her lesson and have the rest of the students cheer him on, well -- it’s something Fred’s always dreamt of.
“I’d love to see the look on Umbridge’s face if I ever chose to cause mayhem in the middle of one of her lessons,”
“Easy there, Freddie. Don’t want to go getting any more detentions, do we?”
“Darling, mischief is my middle name. I need to prank. My life depends on it.”
“That’s a bit dramatic, isn’t it? Just trying to look out for you, is all.”
“You’ve really got that Hufflepuff stereotype of ‘loyal’ down -- you know that, right?”
He supposes, when he thinks about it now, that you were right. You’re always right. He reckons it wouldn’t be such a good thing to cause such an uproar, especially since Umbridge is nearly always on his tail, and is one step closer to knocking Dumbledore out of his post as Headmaster. Fred doesn’t want to give her any more of an edge, does he?
Next to him, George brings Fred back, yet again, from another daydream with a quick kick to his knee. He grips the desk tightly and hopes that his face isn’t flushing bright red. Umbridge’s smirk grows even deeper, and Fred, ignoring his instincts to grab you and run out of the lesson right this instant, merely clears his throat. “No. There isn’t.”
“Good,” Umbridge hisses again, turning her attention back toward the board. “Now, to continue..” Fred relaxes a bit and slumps in his seat, feeling rather grumpy, but his spirits lift almost immediately, and his insides seemingly twist into a tight knot when you send him a soft smile from across the room.
-- -
Fred is shaken awake, only to be face to face with a very cheeky looking George, who then proceeds to throw a notebook straight into Fred’s cheek.
“Oi!” Fred shouts, coming to, bringing his hand to his jaw. “What the bloody hell was that for?”
“You do realize it’s the middle of the day and you’ve fallen asleep directly in the middle of the courtyard, yes?”
Fred kicks the younger twin with his foot, and George and Lee begin to laugh. Fred had been having quite a lovely sleep, thank you very much, and is now annoyed that his brother and friend had chosen to wake him. As he sits up from the bench, adjusting his loose tie and rubbing the sleep from his eyes, Lee offers, “You talk a hell of a lot in your sleep, mate.”
Much to his horror, Fred freezes. This whole talking-in-his-sleep thing is relatively new -- he’d never, ever done that before. It seemed to have happened to him a couple of weeks ago, when he began repeating the days’ events -- ones that included you -- over and over in his mind before falling into a peaceful, and rather deep, slumber. It seemed to have happened when he started to look at you in a new light.
“And what exactly was I saying?” Fred asks, trying to shrug off his nervousness.
George and Lee both suppress a laugh and share a cheeky exchange, and Fred feels his heart leap into his throat. “Oh, you know.. mumbling on about lessons, and things. Bits of parchment you need to finish. Normal musings.”
Fred sighs rather dramatically before relaxing again. He hates this whole being-on-edge thing that comes with having a massive, over-the-top crush on you. “Oh,” George continues, his grin only growing larger, “and something about Y/N being the colour of sunshine, or something?”
As Fred’s eyes widen with embarrassment, George and Lee’s laughter only seems to grow louder and it echoes across the courtyard. This grabs your attention from across the way, and you smirk at Fred. You seem to be working on a bit of homework -- you’re leant against a large tree with your bag and robe next to you on the ground. Your hair is pulled back and you’ve got the end of your quill in your mouth, as if you had been pondering something right before you met Fred’s gaze.
“Thank Merlin she wasn’t over here, or you would’ve scared the poor girl away,” Lee says in a mocking sort of voice, which only seems to intensify Fred’s nerves.
Fred can’t help but fall into a bit of laughter with his friends too, even though the mere fact that he’d been talking in his sleep, about you, in the middle of the courtyard, makes his entire body hurt. ‘Thank Merlin’ is right.
-- -
The colour of sunshine. Ugh. How could he have been so painfully cheesy? Fred thinks about this all day long -- through every lesson, through every stroll down the corridors, through every bite of the evening feast. He can’t simply believe he’s said this out loud, even though it’s true. The truest words that have ever come out of his mouth, even. You are the colour of sunshine.
Simply bright and beamingly so -- the most beautiful of yellows.
You, he reckons, are pure warmth -- enough to soothe him on even the coldest of days.
“You know,” your voice, now closer than it seems, makes Fred jump and snap out of his own thoughts, much to George’s amusement, “this whole not-being-able-to-eat-with-your-mates-from-other-houses thing is simply stupid.”
“Why don’t you go and give Umbridge a piece of your mind, eh?” George asks you.
Your grin deepens, but you shake your head and begin to shovel dessert onto your plate. “It’s her own fault if she doesn’t notice a Hufflepuff amongst a group of Gryffindors. She’s supposed to be the Hogwarts High Inquisitor,” you say a bit stuffily, as if to imitate the woman in question, “is she not?”
“Brilliant,” Fred replies as he finds his voice. “An uncanny impersonation.”
You flip your hair over your shoulder and Fred notices a dimple appear on your cheek. He finds himself lost in your eyes as you peer at him softly over the top of your teacup, which you’ve brought slowly to your lips.
Fred’s happy to hear when you bring his all time favorite thing about the magical world into conversation and does his very best to hide his ever-obvious feelings. “Rumor has it McGonagall and Dumbledore have been pleading with Umbridge to let Gryffindor play Quidditch this year,” you tell the twins.
They peer at you with confusion. “What?” they ask together. Fred continues, “Why? What’s she going to do -- ban all teams except Slytherin? Then they’ve got nobody to verse,” he lets a laugh escape his lips.
George huffs a bit before sipping his tea. “She’s such a bloody idiot. No, I will say it louder, Ron,” George shoots his younger brother a look as Ron closes in on himself a bit, “she’s a power-hungry, egotistical toad who has no business running a bloody school.”
“The truest statement,” you point at him and then bite into your cauldron cake, “but no worry -- she’s apparently agreed to the whole Quidditch thing. Now you two’ve just got to smack the bludgers straight at Crabbe and Goyle’s heads. They’re certainly large enough -- should be easy targets.”
Fred cannot help the enormous laugh that escapes him due to your joke; in fact, he’s sort of surprised it’s only gotten the attention of half of the Great Hall, because it seems to have echoed throughout the entirety of the large room, reverberating off of the walls. Unfortunately, though, Umbridge notices and makes a beeline right toward the Gryffindor table. You turn to Fred and George, shrug your shoulders a bit and proceed to roll your eyes at the very pompous “hem-hem” that is too disturbingly sweet and high-pitched in your ears. “Miss Y/L/N,” she says in her most mocking tone of voice, “please correct me if I am mistaken but I’ve assumed by the yellow color on your robes that you are a Hufflepuff and not, in fact, a Gryffindor, as you’ve so decidedly claimed yourself.”
You turn toward her, a very large grin painted across your face, and simply reply, “No need for corrections here, ma’am.”
“Good,” Umbridge says curtly before turning on her heel. “Best return to your house table, then, before we slip you lot into detention, yes? I do hope it was worth the embarrassment, Miss.”
Embarrassment? Please. You stand up from your seat and chug the rest of your tea and pop the rest of your cauldron cake back into your mouth. You lean against the table, reaching across to the other end to grab yourself another pastry, and get as close to Fred as you possibly can. He notices a bit of a twinkle in your eye, something that’s suddenly driving him absolutely mad, when you say to him and only him, “Definitely worth it.”
A very cozy feeling sweeps itself through Fred’s bones.
-- -
The Gryffindors are lucky to have such two stealthy beaters on their team, because Fred and George know the ins and outs of the castle like nobody else. This comes in handy after a playful, late night match between Gryffindor and Hufflepuff, when the twins are able to sneak the entire Hufflepuff team, and even a few spectators, into the Gryffindor Common Room.
And as if he isn’t excited enough already at the pure theatrics of this entire thing, Fred finds himself smiling even more so at the sight of you, nestled in a corner with a few others, a Butterbeer clutched tightly in your hands, your cheeks rosy and flushed.
He’s reminded of a few weeks ago when he snuck into the Hufflepuff Common Room with you -- very late at night --
“Don’t you trust me?” you’d asked, taking his hand in yours.
His heart had skipped a few beats, if he was being honest.
“Merlin, it’s bright in here!” Fred had exclaimed when you’d both entered. The inviting colours had swirled around him. “How you people get any work done is beyond me. I’d never be able to focus --”
You’d laughed and shoved him. “Fred, you can’t focus, regardless.”
He’d just shrugged and sat down next to you near the fire. The entire room was empty except for the two of you. “I’ll give you that one. It’s just -- it’s so much different from our common room.”
“Well, it’s bright yellow. Plus, it feeds to all of the ‘Puffs' personalities. What did you expect, silly?”
He’d smiled at you, nestling himself comfortably against the edge of the couch. I haven’t seen yellow the same since, he’d wanted to tell you, especially because of the golden colour of your hair. “Nothing more, nothing less. Besides, I’ve got to say -- I’m rather fond of it, actually.”
His heart had nearly constricted at the feeling of you placing your head onto his shoulder. He’d been happy you couldn’t see the shock rising on his face in that of a crimson red colour, since you’d been so focused on staring into the flames. He’d suddenly felt warm -- incredibly warm. He’d willed himself to believe it was the fire, and not the feeling of your soft hair brushing against his neck. “Oh yeah? Yellow your favourite colour, and all?”
I could get lost in it, actually. Fred had to force himself to swallow over his own nerves a few times before he’d been able to say, “You could say that.”
Now, in the Gryffindor Common Room, he darts past a very confused looking Neville and plops himself down next to you, completely ignoring the fact that he’s interrupting your conversation with the others. “Hey,”
“Well hi,” you say, turning your attention toward him. He can smell the pineapple scent of your shampoo and is nearly sent into a dizzying overdrive, but he does his best to focus on the feeling of the cold glass in his fingers. “Great match.”
“Even if we did beat you guys?”
“Yeah,” you reply tersely, “Hufflepuff’s saving their strength for your actual match so they can kick your arses.”
Fred laughs haughtily and scoots a little closer to you on the steps as the others around you both disperse and head off in their respective directions. He can hear the steady pounding of his own heartbeat in his ears and decides to take a leap of faith. “Maybe. Although I will say -- you’ve got to be more careful with your leering, love.”
“Meaning?”
“Pretty sure you didn’t take your eyes off of me the entire time. You were full-on staring.”
Fred notices the pink on your cheeks seemingly deepen a bit, but you don’t let on to any embarrassment. He grins at you. “Perhaps I was. And if you’ve noticed, it means you were watching me back,”
His smile only grows at your mock voice. He replies with the same tone, “Perhaps I was.”
“You can’t do that during an actual match though, sir,” you tell him, bringing your goblet to your lips and sipping significantly, “otherwise you’re going to be distracted and I reckon you’ll be hit with a bludger, don’t you?”
Fred twirls his goblet in his hands, desperately trying to read your face and your tone. He’s having a hard time deciphering. “You do make a good point.”
“Besides,” you continue, a small smirk making the edges of your lips curl, “we can’t have you getting distracted. Although, I understand how difficult it can be -- considering I’m the colour of sunshine, and all.”
It takes a moment and a laugh before Fred’s registered what you’ve said, and you glance back down at your goblet, giggling into it a bit, and he shakes his head before turning to look at George and Lee, who seemingly have been watching you two this entire time, because they immediately glance away and immerse themselves in conversation with others around them.
“And we know how brilliantly blinding sunshine can be, don’t we, Fred?”
Someone’s playing very loud music and Fred wonders how Umbridge hasn’t caught you all yet. Or perhaps, he thinks, maybe the booming just sounds louder in his own ears.
“Almost as blinding as love, d’you reckon?”
Fred feels that warm, homely feeling take him over yet again -- but this time, he knows it’s not from the butterbeer, or the raging fire. He doesn’t even try to pretend. It’s all from you.
“Yeah, yeah -- tease all you want,” he says as confidence engulfs him. He reaches out and tucks a piece of hair behind your ear.
You place your goblet down on the step next to you. “I wasn’t teasing,” you say very matter of factly, “so much as I was trying to get you to kiss me, actually.”
He purses his mouth into a very smug smirk and watches as your eyes dart down to his lips, and you bite down on your own. He leans in, the rest of the music and chatter surrounding you both seemingly drowned out by the steady pounding of his own heart, when --
“Oi, Freddie! C’mere, mate!”
Clearly Ron’s incapable of seeing that we’re in the middle of something, Fred wants to tell you. Instead, he pulls away slightly and whispers to you. “Want to sneak up to the Astronomy tower?”
“So late at night? How very scandalous of you.”
“Well it’s why you fancy me in the first place, isn’t it?”
He grabs your hand as you paint a very mischievous look on your face, and is about to stand up before you tug on the collar of his shirt with your free hand, pulling him back to you and pressing your lips to his in an electrified climax.
You try to part, but he pulls you closer to him and slides his hand down your leg. A soft moan emits your lips, and Fred wonders if he’d be able to sneak a Hufflepuff girl up to his own dormitory this evening. “Sorry,” you reply, biting down on your lip again, sending him into a complete tizzy. You whisper cheekily, “Just couldn’t wait.”
He smirks at you, hoping his giddiness isn’t blatantly evident in his exuberance, and pulls you to your feet. “Actually..” you say, playing again with his collar, “instead of the Astronomy tower, how about we head to the Room of Requirement?”
“No? Don’t want to look up at the stars, be all mushy, fall asleep in my arms?”
You actually snort through your laughter, rolling your eyes at him. “Yes, yes, of course I do, you sap. But I reckon we should save that for an actual date. Right now, I’d kind of just like to snog you for a few hours, if you don’t mind.”
He shakes his head at you with admiration. “What has gotten into you?”
Another hair flip from you sends warmth through Fred’s veins. “C’mon, Weasley,” you say, tugging his hand, the yellow fire reflecting in the light of your eyes, “don’t you trust me?”

Luciferian Challenge: Bonus 1
Since I combined the 13th prompt with the 12th yesterday, here’s one of the bonus question.
What do you think is best about Luciferianism?
I don’t think I can make a blanket statement about what’s best about Luciferianism in general. The religion is incredibly personalized, and while I believe its core values and ideals are admirable, I don’t actually think they’re exclusive to Luciferianism. I think it’s one of those things where if you check enough off of the list, and you’re drawn to the label, you’re a Luciferian. If you don’t or aren’t, you can end up as damn near anything else. However, I’m perfectly happy to explain what’s so great about it for me, as I’ve been giving it a lot of thought during this challenge.
Something I will state outright is that what I’m about to describe is specific to my own special brand of Luciferianism. While I would not be at all shocked if it overlaps with others, I don’t make any claims or statements that should be forced onto literally anyone else who shares my religious label.
I’m prefacing this because my Luciferianism has a bit of an odd relationship with Christianity in a way I’m not ashamed of, but that some people might find peculiar at best and uncomfortable at worst if they’re someone who endlessly strives to separate or distance the two.
If that’s not a dealbreaker for you, and you’re curious to hear more of how that works and why it’s so valuable to me, the full explanation can be found below the cut.
I appreciate you sticking around! I struggled with how exactly to begin this part, so I’ll start with a big dramatic statement and then over-explain it from there.
My Luciferianism is impossible to completely untangle and separate from Christianity, and this is despite my tendency to remind people that the name Lucifer appears precisely once in the Bible, and is not meant to refer to a fallen angel.
The biggest thing that drove me away from my Lutheran upbringing was the worship. I did believe in God, and His potentially all knowing and powerful nature, but I genuinely cannot remember a time as a Lutheran when worship felt genuine to me. I thought angels were fascinating. I loved a good deal of the music, the sound of the organ, the stained glass… I even had some fondness for the community, as the one I was in wasn’t terrible and I spent a great deal of time in it as one of the children’s choir’s few members, and later as an acolyte. But I didn’t really want to be a Lutheran. It didn’t feel how I knew it was probably meant to, even going into confirmation classes. I’ve always believed a person should be passionate about their religion, if they have one, and that your deities should be a figure you look to in times of celebration instead of just in times of strife.
As time went on, I also began appreciating the trappings of Catholicism. Don’t get me wrong, I have some issues with the church as a whole, but there’s a reason everyone keeps stealing the aesthetic, right? They certainly put a church together far prettier than the ones I grew up in, they kept much more of the Latin, I like the meditative nature of a rosary… and I ended up forming a relationship with a few saints, despite my religious affiliations.
I had a pagan’s love for Dionysus, for incorporating magic into my everyday life, and for seeing the world through the mindset of an animist. I also had no interest in worshiping God, though the belief in Him remained, and I was kind of just apathetic when it came to the divinity of Christ. However, I do have a deep appreciation for saints in the sense that they’re powerful dead and ancestors of sorts, and angels will continue to be fascinating to me even if it turns out I can work with them less and less. In regards to both, I strongly believe in approaching a spirit on their own terms, and have no issue with incorporating prayer or verse into how I petition the aforementioned saints.
Luciferianism kind of just… has room for all that, given just how loose its requirements are. The figures that are at the center of my practice are undeniably Abrahamic in origin (which I will finally use in the sense that figures like Eve and Azazel are found in a number of religions that share those historic roots) and my typical understanding of Lucifer is a blending of Christian folklore and the long dead religions that came before it.
The result was that I’m kind of steeped in Christianity and its aesthetics the way a vampire from a gothic horror is. All the pieces are there, but there’s something wrong with it.
And I love that for me?
So I don’t call myself dual faith, because I tend to think that requires some level of worship of or loyalty to both sides, but I like existing alongside Christianity. On the fringes, in a way. My Luciferianism merged my polytheism, my animism, my love of the occult, and also my appreciation of figures like Lucifer and Azazel and Eve in a way that I don’t think any other religious label would have allowed for. Not to mention that all the while it also spoke to the ideals and values I hold dearest.
Though I’m still sorting out the finer points of how I view the deities and spirits I work with (partially on account of how our relationship is still growing) I’m very content as a whole.
I could only go into so much detail without making this monster long, so if you’re a little confused by or curious about any part of it, please do shoot me an ask instead of wondering or making assumptions. Even if you worry it’ll come off as a touch rude or confrontational to ask questions about it, I don’t mind.
