Reading your new story the impression is that you are actively rooting against Damen/Laurent and it’s very confusing if they are even endgame because I can feel that you dont like Damen and I dont mean the flaws you gave. Now I looked at your blog and asked around makes sense. It comes across when authors dont like their characters and I couldn’t put my finger on what felt off but was this a chore for you? It certainly feels so. Very strange choices. Heavy self-indulgent. Are you quite young?

hi! so, my first reaction to this was to get defensive. ngl i was kinda upset for a while 🙊 but i’m really curious to discuss this further with you! i do like lamen and damen in HIUH (i gave damen flaws that are personal to me and that i really relate to). it was a bit hard to write this fic for a lot of reasons (first time writing only damen’s pov, first time writing a long modern au) but i wouldn’t say it was a chore. i’m sad that it reads that way to you! 🥺

i was wondering if you could specify a bit on what you mean by “strange choices”? the heavy self-indulgent bit i understand because i def am self-indulgent in my writing! i don’t think i’m that young (not a teen anymore) but i’m also curious what you meant by that?
