listen..... american true crime podcasters. you gotta pick a side. it can't be both "america's prison sentences are unfairly long and too focused on punishment and not rehabilitation" when it makes you look good, but then when you're talking about any other country you become unfairly critical like, "omg their sentences are sooooooo short it's pathetic how dare this person not be in solitary confinement until they're a skeleton how dare they educate themselves and do therapy and make progress in becoming functional humans while imprisoned??"
