Caring Lord Heisenberg
First of all, let me to wholeheartedly congratulate you on being one of the luckiest people in the world!
Yes, that's right, you have automatically become one since that very moment when the heart of lord Heisenberg himself chose you as his only one beloved.
And despite of the tough personality and rough exterior of this man he is, actually, quite kind, caring, gentle and attentive within the soul and will do literally anything to see a genuine smile of happiness on your face.
You will probably not hear him saying "i love you" hundred times a day because, not going to lie, Karl is not very good at expressing his feelings with words, but he will definitely always find many other different ways to show how deeply he really cares for you.
On daily basis the lord lavishly compliments your outward look, making your cheeks redden like two ripe tomatoes, and persistently encourages you not to give up on your cherished dreams but devotedly follow them no matter how difficult that is, this way helping the wings of your soul remain unfolded.
All needs of yours Karl is very well aware of and always ready to help you out to entirely fulfill each and every one of them. He buys your favorite beverages and food from the Duke, even without paying attention to the prices; masterly unnoticeably steals breathtaking books from the rich library of lady Dimitrescu, makes Donna special orders for her to sew new clothes to your liking and asks Moreau for all necessary and qualitative medicines when you are in a poor state of health.
Speaking of your health, it is extremely important for the lord for you to stay well as much as possible and for this reason, knowing his habit of smoking like a chimney, Karl avoids puffing cigars near with you.
Making jewellery of metal has now turned into Heisenberg's new little hobby in his spare of work time. He enjoys sitting in one of his workshops in a calm atmosphere, painstakingly designing and creating another trinket, at the same time quietly humming some nice melodic song and vividly imagining how doubtlessly glad you will be to receive one more peculiar handmade gift from him.
Sometimes because of an especially unpleasant family gathering or an unsuccessful experiment, the blood within the man's veins begin to boil out of irritation and pure anger. Remembering how highly sensetive by nature you really are, Karl politely asks you to leave him for some time alone in order to cool his jets and be able to think straight as he desires not one bit to accidentally snap at you and break your fragile heart.
For Heisenberg there is nothing more unbearable than to watch his darling cry. Therefore when your precious eyes start filling with bitter tears of sadness, the lord, as if on autopilot, gives you a firm yet gentle hug. Carefully and caringly stroking your hair and back, your beloved tenderly soothes you, assuring that everything is certainly going to be alright because he is always here…with you…
When you wish to take a slow stroll in a forest or simply around the village, usually Karl gladly joins you, serving you as a loyal and reliable defender. But at thouse moments when he, unfortunately, cannot come together with you, being too busy with working on his projects, the lord sends a pack of lycans in order for them to protect you from every ill-wisher and each potential danger during your walk. Don't worry! These fluffy guys just look so intimidating, but Heisenberg trained them too well, and, believe me, they will never dare to cause you any harm.
At the restless nights of your life when you, being attacked by a bunch of poisonous anxious thoughts, try to desperately fall asleep, almost constantly tossing and turning in the bed, the strong arms of your beloved wrap around you even more tighter than usual. Pulling you closely to his sturdy wide chest, Karl softly and gently caresses your tensed body, placing simultaneously little loving kisses on your face, neck and shoulders, from time to time speaking into your ear very pleasant amazing things in a whisper until you feel absolutely relaxed and sleepy.
Closing your eyes and sinking into the land of sweet peaceful dreams, inwardly you sincerely thank the Universe for allowing you to love this incredible man and to be loved by him tenfold back, feeling with all your heart that, in fact, only he and he alone is everything you have ever truly wanted and everything you have ever so badly needed.

From the "40 Questions — Meme for Fic Writers": 7, 28 and one of your choice!
Thanks Holly! For the 40 questions for fic writers meme:
#7: Share a snippet from one of your favorite pieces of prose you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.
this dumb fucking joke from my dragon!fai/kurogane fic, Your Princess is in Another Castle. it's like 10 years old and I don't think anybody following this blog (except my fav scrublord, @mikkeneko) was in it with me, but i still smile to myself reading this fic and if u can't smile at ur own fic, what else is it FOR:
"Oh my god," Kurogane said, automatically, because like most dragons Ashura wasn't wearing any clothes. His knees suddenly felt very weak. "Um," said Fai, his glib tongue seeming to have deserted him. "Hello?" "Can I go?" Yuui asked Ashura. Despairing it was, then. At least he wasn't naked. It was a low bar to meet in terms of presentation, but so far two of the six people in this room weren't making it.
#28: Share three of your favorite fic writers and why you like them so much.
Easy peasy! #1, montparnasse, because i adore their poetic prose (as exemplified by the intro to my fav of their fics, the Hawkebella On Southerly Winds):
Once, lost-but-not-lost on a windless night at sea, Isabela told a young sailor, “You’ve got to live like everything can hurt you.” The sailor, new and green as a beansprout, said it was sound advice. She didn’t understand that it was not. It was fact, like iron in the blood.
#2, Spicyshimmy - handers fandom will know why, but i love their clever playing around with tone, their Hawke characterisation is so fun and sad, and Fareweel Regality remains one of my fav unreliable narrator stories. I also enjoy their larger ensemble pieces particularly in the Mass Effect fandom.
It didn’t take Bethany long to corner Garrett in the den, after he’d seen both the seneschal and Saemus out with a wink and a nod and a sigh of relief. ‘What on earth was that all about?’ she demanded, eyes alight with pure irritation, the mark of a truly loving sister. ‘Do you want the viscount’s son to think there’s madness in our family? Because that’s certainly how you were acting tonight. ‘Better madness than magic, I’d think,’ Garrett said.
And last but not least, #3, mikkeneko, my favourite scrublord. she can be ur angle:
"Hawke, what's going on here?" Merrill took in the scene with wide green eyes. "What did you do?" Hawke's expression was insufferably smug. "I found out how to use the Mirror of Transformation to make extra copies of myself," he said. "And... viola!" "That's the instrument," Varric muttered out of the side of his mouth.
... she can be ur deville....
"Promise me," Kurogane insisted. "I promise," he said. "I'll... do what I have to, to stay alive." So that you'll have something to come back to.
... but mostly, she's ur mikke.
Somewhere lost in the clouded annals of myth, in the vague spaces beyond the edges of the map where only dragons lie, in places unknown and untread by mortal feet, (do not pass Go, do not collect $200), in just such a dim and murky place, resides a tavern. This mysterious inn can only be reached by -- "How did you lot all get here, anyway?" Wei Wuxian asked. "Unmapped tributary of the River of Souls," mumbled Harrowhark Nonagesimus, Ninth Saint to the Serve the King Undying, the Reverend Daughter of Drearburh and Heir to the House of the Ninth. "Secret paths of Yggdrasil," murmured Loki Laufeyson, Shape-Changer, Sly-One, Wizard of Lies, Thief of Giants, Foe of the Gods and Forger of Evil. "Experimental portals powered by the Elder Blood," said Yennefer of Vengerberg, court mage of Aedirn, hero of Sodden, refugee of Nilfgaard, mother of Cirilla Fiona Elen Riannon, Lady of Space and Time. "I mean I came here on a donkey, but your things are cool too," said Wei Wuxian.
And ladies' choice, #1: Describe your comfort zone—a typical you-fic.
happy endings. eventually. 😎

The people have spoken!
I'll begin a new series of separate posts over time, but I'll use this opportunity to quickly explain a few basics about the idea:
Q: Why a Legend of Zelda theme park? I mean, a whole theme park?
A: Yes, a whole theme park! I am vaguely aware of rumors that Universal Studios wants/plans to add some LoZ content to their Super Nintendo Land area, which so far is entirely Mario-focused, and tbh the fact that it's called Super Nintendo Land in the first place (as opposed to Super Mario Land) shows that they probably wanted to keep open the option of adding other franchises all along. If so, this is good and they should do it.
BUT!
The Legend of Zelda deserves so much more. The kingdom of Hyrule (and the various other places Link winds up over the course of the series, but let's focus on Hyrule) is first and foremost a magnificent, intriguing place to explore and discover, with surprises around every corner and a weighty sense of implied history and lore. You can't condense everything that this series means to people into (probably) a character photo-op and maybe a simple carnival ride. in order to do LoZ justice in a theme park...it would need to be the theme park. A magnificent, intriguing place for people to explore and discover, with surprises around every corner.
Q: And you think you're qualified to invent one...why?
A: Because I wanna, smartypants. I'm not planning to pitch this to Nintendo or anything, I'm just using my extensive experience of existing theme parks (okay...mainly Disneyland) to imagine up something cool.
Q: Okay, okay, enough shade. How big of a theme park are we talking, then? You mention Disneyland; do you really think there's enough potential content here to make something that grand?
A: Sister, if anything, "as grand as Disneyland" is a low estimate. For example, Disneyland doesn't have an entire portion of the park that's elevated above the rest. (Universal Studios Hollywood does, but it's not part of the theme--it's because the whole place was built onto the side of a hill hemmed in by freeways.)
Q: Elevated abo...what?
A: Patience. We'll get there in a future post.
Q: Let's back up a bit. Are there any particular guiding principles you're trying to keep in mind for this thing? Ones that aren't automatically implied by the basic concept itself?
A: Why yes, I'm glad you asked. I have two:
The Legend of Zelda is mainly for kids. My primary target demographic for this theme park is about age 8-13. That doesn't mean there's nothing here that older (or heck, younger) folks can't enjoy, but it means there's nothing that 8-13-year-olds can't participate in. There are no rides with height requirements more stringent than about a 36" minimum, the restaurants don't serve alcohol, etc.
Theme parks, however, are for everyone. Obviously this idea is going to be the most attractive to fans of the source material, and there are plenty of in-jokes and Easter eggs for them to notice, but my goal is ensuring that you don't need to be familiar with the games to have a great time in this park. Nothing above the level of an Easter egg is there solely to be a nod and a wink to existing fans.
Q: Your ideas intrigue me, and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.
A: Fortunately, this is Tumblr, and there is a Follow button, right up there at the head of the post where it usually is.
I think that's enough to get us off the ground. Once we gain some elevation, we'll have a great view of the theme park's layout, so stay tuned!
When this blog was fairly new, I put up a handful of posts about a hypothetical Legend of Zelda theme park that I think should exist, but before too long the idea struck me as criminally underdeveloped and I deleted them all in order to workshop the idea some more.
I think I'm about ready to share LoZ Theme Park 2.0. What say you all?

🦅Being Shiratorizawa's Manager 🦅
Manager with a Progressive
Degenerative Eye Disease
Shiratorizawa x GN manager
Warnings: none
AN: This is an Anon request!
🌠 Please Like, Reblog and/or Share to help support my writing 🌠
Can we say "Support System?" 👏🏻
Ok, I totally believe SHIRATORIZAWA 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 is one of the most, if not the most, supportive teams
Please 😫 they totally would lay down in a puddle for their manager to walk over them
Seriously tho, this team is very capable without the help of a manager
So with you YN
Boy are they unstoppable 🙌🏻
You've always been open with these boys about your condition
It's important that they know YN, trust me
If it's anything that could possibly lead to you getting hurt, we 👏🏻 want 👏🏻 them 👏🏻 to 👏🏻 know 👏🏻
Your eye condition is being monitored and followed by professionals
Trust me, Tednou will ask numerous times
"How was your eye doctor visits YN? Did your prescription change again? Wow your glasses must be so expensive!"- Tendou, trying to be supportive
Yes Tendou, they are very expensive 😅
Seriously Tendou thinks glasses are so cool
Case in point, his rival Tsukki wears them 🤣
You require glasses all the time to see
I totally understand YN, I'm blind without glasses/contacts
You have to be careful you don't get hit in the face or try to receive any balls on the court
But it's ok because Yamagata has got you 💅
And Semi is totally going to make sure you don't step foot on the court when Ushiwaka is spiking
"Don't even think about it YN!"- Semi
"YES MOM"- You 🙄
"Semi Semi lay off YN!"- Tendou
"He'd watching out for YN"- Reon
"He never watches out for me!"- Goshiki
"Future aces shouldn't need babysitting"- Shirabu
Seriously, everytime 😅
You even have special glasses to wear when you are on the court
Like Tsukki's glasses but cooler 😎
"YN can you do a handstand in your glasses?"- Tendou
"Why would YN need to do a handstand?"- Ushijima 😐
"Why NOT!" -Tendou
"No Tendou I can't even do a handstand to begin with"- You
"I can do a handstand watch YN"- Goshiki
Goshiki could not do a handstand 🤣
Most days, you are so prepared
But unfortunately, that's not how MY headcannons work 😏
Because you see YN, today you forgot your sports glasses at home 😙
And so you were stuck wearing your regular glasses during the prelims
Ouch 😬
Semi totally scolded you for forgetting your glasses
Ushi did not help
"I don't see how you forgot them YN. They are your eyes"- Ushijima
"Yn has so many eyes tho! It must be hard to keep track of all of them"- Tendou
"YN can just stay on the bench then"- Shirabu
"It's not like I'm not capable guys!"- you
"Yeah but YN we are up against Seijoh"- Kawanishi
"Like I'm afraid of Oikawa!"- you, yelling
"I HEARD THAT- OUCH IWA-CHAN!!"- Oikawa, being ever the Oikawa
"Just be careful YN"- Reon
I feel like saying those words is an automatic jinx
Because "being careful" is exactly what you did not do 😅
You decided to help gather balls after the Seijoh practiced to get ready for your team
Unfortunately for you, you turned around go grab a lose ball and a missile shot your way 👀
Missile as in an Oikawa serve
Everyone saw it happen in slowmo and it was spectacular 🤣
Tendou 👉🏻😶😳😵
Semi 👉🏻😳😕🤦♂️
Oikawa 👉🏻😳😢😰
Ushiwaka 👉🏻😐
Iwaizumi 👉🏻😳😑🤬
*SMACK* down goes Yn
And down goes your glasses
Oops 😬
And because you're just that lucky, your glasses break 😃
Goshiki panics first
"OH MY GOD WHY CANT SEE ANYTHINF YN HOW MANY FINGERS AM I HOLDING UP?"
"If they can't see how would they be able to tell idiot"- Shirabu
"Yn I told you to watch out!"- Semi
Ushiwaka is staring at Oikawa 😑
Iwaizumi has already pelted him with 3 volleyballs
"Guys I'll be fine, I just need to get to the bench"- you
Reon helps you to the bench
"Yn are you going to be ok for the rest of the match!"- Semi
"Yn will be fine!"- Tendou
"Umm they don't have their glasses Tendou"- Kawanishi
"Well it's lucky for you guys that I happen to keep a spare set of YN's glasses on me at all times"- Tendou
He literally emerges from his duffle with a spare set of your glasses 😃
Everyone 👉🏻👁👄👁
You 👉🏻👁👄👁 whet
"You have like 5 pairs YN! I just borrowed one the last time I was in your room because I was worried this would happen- Tendou
"Omg Tendou!"- You 🥺
"Are we just going to ignore the fact that Tendou stole YN's glasses?"- Semi
"Or that Tendou hanga out in YN's room?"- Yamagata
Yes, yes we are 🤣

Thank you for loving me/S.M
"Baby, time to get up hon, you've got work in an hour," Shawn whispered in my ear, peppering kisses from my brow down to my chin. His calloused fingers- from his favourite hobby- the guitar- running up and down my arms.
"Mmm, morning," I smiled leaning up to meet his soft kiss.
"Is that coffee I smell?" I asked, sitting up slowly, pulling my (Shawn's) favourite over-sized sweater off the arm chair at the side of the bed and standing up only to be pulled into my favourite spot in the world, Shawn's warm embrace.
"Do you really think I'd be so silly as to wake you without the coffee pot at the ready?" he laughed, kissing my temple again, before taking my hand and leading me down the hallway and into the kitchen.
Both Shawn and I worked for the City of Toronto Fire Department, me as a recently qualified paramedic, and Shawn as a firefighter and paramedic. It had been a tough few months for me, the job was demanding and taxing, but I loved it, and I had Shawn and all my work mates to help guide me.
"Sit," he pointed to the barstool where a cup of coffee in my favourite mug and omelette was waiting.
"Ahhh I love you!" I groaned, flopping down in the chair, shovelling a piece of the fragrant food into my mouth.
"I take it it meets your expectations," he laughed, coming to sit next to me.
"Exceeds!" I mumbled around the next mouthful.
Am hour later and Shawn had dropped me at my station, before headed off across town again to his station.
As I made my way into the station the familiar sounds of saws, engines and various other equipment- once so threatening now seemed to welcome me home.
"Hey El." my work partner and paramedic in charge Jo called, coming to meet me at the locker room door.
"Morning, how are Eli and Felix today?" I asked referring to her two little boys.
"They're okay. Eli had a meltdown before school this morning at having to get out of bed, but once I reminded him that Mummy can't go to work and save people if he doesn't get up and go to school all was well. I swear if the kid doesn't become a firefighter or a paramedic himself one day I'll walk to the moon!" she laughed.
"Aw, he's so sweet, it's so cute how you're his idol, speaking of don't we have that school group coming today?"
"We were supposed to, but due to budget cuts'" she rolled her eyes "the department is no longer able to fund it, apparently it's too expensive and labour intensive to have people out of action."
I sighed," How are we supposed to encourage the next generation of they can't see it for themselves. I mean I became a paramedic because my school had a field trip to a firehouse."
"You're preaching to the choir here girl, you're preaching to the choir." she laughed, turning and walking out. I went about putting my stuff away before heading to the kitchen/common room where we all spent our time inbetween calls.
The day turned out to be a slow one and by eleven o'clock I was doing laundry- (only having been called out once) when Mo one of the longest serving fire fighters and overall cool dude appeared by the door.
"You've got a visitor El, there's someone waiting for you it on the apparatus floor."
"Thanks Mo, " I smiled, putting the clothes I had been folding down and heading out the door.
When I got to the apparatus floor, I was slightly shocked. There was Shawn, leaning casually against a Pilar waiting for me a brown bag in one hand- a bunch of sunflowers (my favourite) in the other.
"Shawn... What are you doing here?" I asked, still stunned.
He beamed running and picking me up.
"I had to come speak to chief Hachette about an arson case so I thought I'd surprise my girl. Do you have time for lunch?" he asked just as Jo walked out, stopping in her tracks. She looked so surprised I thought she was going to faint for a minute.
"And who's this?" she asked with a smile, coming over to stand in front of us where Shawn was still holding me.
"Jo meet Shawn." As soon as I said it I knew it was a mistake. A mischievous grin came over her face and I suddenly felt sick at all the intimate details I'd shared with her about our relationship on long nightshifts-mostly under duress, but still.
"Right so we're going to have lunch before we get another call," I spoke quickly, tugging at Shawn's arm to get him to walk before Jo had an opportunity to embarrass me.
"She seems nice," Shawn commented as we found a quiet spot to sit in the grass behind the firehouse.
"She is," I agreed as he handed me a turkey and Brie sandwich from my favourite deli downtown.
Half an hour later and lunch was done all too soon, duty unfortunately calling for Shawn leaving me alone to face the scrutiny of Jo.
"Girrlll, OMG, he's fiinnnee El. I hope you've locked him down cause I want me some of that," she spoke a million miles a minute running to catch up with me a la I made my way back into the common room and through to the laundry to finish folding the clothes from earlier.
"Well, speaking of," I dug around in my breast pocket, pulling out the engagement ring Shawn had proposed with over the weekend on a mini getaway to the Hamptons.
The scream that left Jo's mouth was louder than expected and sent the whole house into a frenzy. Mo and several of the other firefighters including Tiny and Bug to come running.
When they realised there was no actual issue they turned around grumbling about how we'd pulled then away from the basketball game theyd been placing bets on.
"So when, how, where all the details," she demanded grabbing my arm and jumping up and down. Just the thought of the romantic evening Shawn and I had spent made me giddy again.
However before I got a chance to response the bell went off overhead signalling an incoming call
"Main to 41... Possible GSW, 56th and Main."
I sighed.
It was probably some gang related drug issue again there were plenty of lovely people , but that side of town had a reputation.
"41 responding," I spoke into the radio on my shoulder l before running to the trick, jumping in and flicking the switch to the lights and sirens.
When we got to the scene all was well at first, the cops were already there assuring us it was safe to enter, however just as we were about to leave having treated a minor self inflicted wound a man brandishing a gun leapt from a concealed closet.
"Give me all the drugs you have b*TCH." He yelled before either Jo or I could take in what was happening.
"You know we can't do that sir," Jo spoke calmly. Moving to try to assess the man, who's head was bleeding heavily.
"I said give me the f*cking drugs b*TCH ."
He yelled again, storming towards me. The next few seconds were a blur, I heard a shots, there was immense pain in my abdomen and leg and then I crumpled to the floor, whacking my head in the process.
"El, El. Omg, stay with me." Jo panicked.
"41 to main we have an officer down, urgent assistance required for a GSW, EMS required now!" she shouted down her radio.
"Hurts," I gasped as the initial shock wore off and the pain hit, everything seemed to ache, my leg, my ribs, my head. The room was spinning and I was having trouble breathing no longer able to keep track of the flurry of activity.
Somewhere in the chaos,I'm not sure how long after the incident I heard his voice, Shawn's voice and at first I thought I was dreaming, but I managed to open my eyes and there he was, looking down at with with so much fear.
"It's alright baby, I'm here now, we're going to fix it up, you'll be just fine. Can you tell me where it hurts?" he asked.
I went to move, instinctively seeking his comfort, but he stopped me, and I instantly wanted to cry, more than I already was.
"You have to stay still Princess."
I let out a loud groan as he placed an oxygen mask over my face.
"El? Can you hear me?" I grunted, the effort of actually forming words seeming too hard right then. I could feel hands all over me, and as much as I just wanted to be left alone, I also knew , they were trying to help me.
"It hurts," I cried again.
"I know it does honey, but you're going to be okay. I'm here, and so is Connor and Jo, and we'll look after you, and then when we've got you all comfy we'll take you to get all fixed up, how does that sound?"
"Okay, lets get her onto the bed, and then we can assess her from there," Connor suggested, appearing by my side, with a back board and neck collar that Jo had brought over.
"Okay, we're going to roll you onto the board El just let us do all the work okay?" Shawn said.
I let out a serious of screams as they rolled me, gripping Shawn's gloved hand like my life depended on it.
"We'll get you sorted yeah?" Shawn tried to reassure me as they strapped me onto the bed so I was safe, and then starting to push the gurney out the door and towards the entrance of the ambulance which was no more than ten metres away.
"Shawn ," I whispered, tears falling down my face, mixing with the blood which I could feel was congelling on my face.
When we were in the ambulance Shawn and Jo attached me to the hundreds of leads which I was so used to attaching to others while I lay there helplessly.
"I've started some morphine," Jo patted my arm gently as Shawn pulled a blanket over my body as I drifted off into fairy land.
Ten minutes later and we were pulling into the emergency bay.
The automatic doors opened, where we were met with a hoard of staff, ready to assist, the first person being Brian, Shawn and my mutual friend and colleague.
The look of horror on his face when he saw that it was me on the gurney was unsettling.
"She's a priority one, bed four, resus," he directed Shawn, following behind. " What do we know?" He asked, starting to attach monitors and leads to me all over again.
"GSW on scene, while responding to an incident on the other side of town. Wound to leg and abdo, possible broken ribs and concussion." Shawn reeled off.
I wasn't aware that they'd even assessed me, clearly I'd lost consciousness at some point and I wasn't even aware of it.
I lay there mulling over this lapse in memory, letting the chaos wash over me like a wave.
The last thing I was aware of was Brian shouting orders at the floods of nurses, and Shawn standing helplessly in the corner, red-faced from crying, before everything went black.
"Ah, can you turn the lights off!" I groaned as I came to again, reaching to rip off whatever annoying piece of wiring was sitting over my face "My head hurts," I added as a dull.ache consumed my thoughts as Shawn's worried face came into view, his frame helping to block out the blinding light as he bent over the bed.
"Oh thank God I was so worried," he cried kissing me with so much force I forgot to breathe, making the monitor go crazy for a second. "How are you feeling he asked, stopping me from pulling at the thing on my face which turned out to be oxygen tubing
"What happened?" I asked,. I remembered the main.events but the rest was fuzzy, whether from my injuries or from the drugs I had no doubt been plied with I wasn't sure
"You were shot while on-call, drug exchange gone bad, you scared me so bad baby," he whispered, brushing hair out if my face as Brian made his way into the room clearing his throat to announce himself.
"Hi El, it's good to see you awake, how are you feeling?" He asked coming to check a few things on the monitors before flipping my chart that sat at the end of the bed open.
"So as you know you had two gun shot wounds, one to your left let and one to the abdomen, luckily for you they were both clean shots and we didn't need to do anything other than clean and irrigate the areas and stitch you up. You did however manage to fracture three ribs when you fell as well as sustaining a sizable concussion.
"So what does that mean work wise?" I asked. Shawn must have sensed my nerves, because he was sure to keep a hand intertwined with my, the other tracing soft patterns up and down my arm.
"We'll unfortunately, during the fall you fractured your tibia, which has left you in a cast, and pretty well imibilised, I'm sorry to say you'll be relying on this big guy-" he slapped Shawn in the back, "for the next week at least while everything settles.
You'll be in a cast for at least six weeks and off work from a minimum of two weeks with rehab worked in. Rest up El, give me a yell if ya need anything," he spoke to Shawn as he left the room.
"I'll lose my job," I cried, the thought of not being able to do what I loved terrified me.
"No you won't Brian said you'll be sore for a bit and need to rest, not that you'd lose your job, besides now you'll have a real reason to boss me around, I'll be your slave". He laughed covering .me with a blanket and lifting my bung leg to rest it in a pillow.
Besides when you're well enough there are some people who'd like to see you.
"Get some rest and we'll work it all out when you wake up.
True to his word, he helped me with everything, toileting, showering (which proved to be a challenge with the cast), dressing, getting up and down stairs, making breakfast, lunch and dinner, and forcing me to take pain medication when I was too stubborn to admit I needed it.
By the end of the first week though, I was miseeable,.not used to doing nothing but sitting in my behind.
"You my dear, need to get a coat on we're going out!" he announced, coming over with said coat and helping me to stuff my arms in.
"Where are we going?" I asked.
"SSH, it's a secret," he grinned, before carrying me to the car and making sure I was all buckled up.
Half an hour later and we were pulling up to the firehouse, where a few of the guys were sat outside playing cards as we made our way (me hobbling haphazardly on crutches) into the firehouse
"Hero in the house!" Mo called out and they all came running.
"I'm so glad you're okay. You scared me girl." Jo sniffled coming to hug me.
"Ouch still a little sore." I laughed leaning into Shawn for support as she blubbered all over me.
"Well sore is better than the alternative.
If it weren't for this one," she pointed to Shawn "you'd be dead."
"You've got yourself a keeper,"Mo added with a smile.
"Well if Mo approves it must be true." I agreed. "I think I'll keep you." I added, causing everyone to laugh.
"Thank you," I whispered to Shawn when the others were out of ear shot.
"For what?" he asked.
"Just for being you and for loving me," I shrugged, snuggling futher into his embrace, feeling greatful just to be alive, let alone call this wonderful human mine.

Thank you for Loving Me
"Baby, time to get up hon, you've got work in an hour", Shawn whispered in my ear, peppering kisses from my brow down to my chin. His calloused fingers- from his favourite hobby- the guitar- running up and down my arms.
"Mmm, morning," I smiled leaning up to meet his soft kiss.
"Is that coffee I smell?"I asked, sitting up slowly, pulling my (Shawn's) favourite over-sized sweater off the arm chair at the side of the bed and standing up only to be pulled into my favourite spot in the world, Shawn's warm embrace.
"Hey El.", my work partner and paramedic in charge Jo called, coming to meet me at the locker room door.
I sighed, "How are we supposed to encourage the next generation of they can't see it for themselves.
"You've got a visitor El l, there's someone waiting for you it on the apparatus floor."
"Shawn... What are you doing here?"I asked, still stunned.
He beamed running and picking me up.
"I had to come speak to chief Hachette about an arson case so I thought I'd surprise my girl.Do you have time for lunch?" he asked just as Jo walked out, stopping in her tracks.
"She is." I agreed as he handed me a turkey and Brie sandwich from my favourite deli downtown.
Half an hour later and lunch was done all too soon, duty unfortunately calling for Shawn leaving me alone to face the scrutiny of Jo.
"Girrlll, OMG, he's fiinnnee El. I hope youve locked him down cause I want me some of that." she spoke a million miles a minute running to catch up with me a la I made my way back into the common room and through to the laundry to finish folding the clothes from earlier.
"Well, speaking of... " I dug around in my breast pocket, pulling out the engagement ring Shawn had proposed with over the weekend on a mini getaway to the Hamptons.
I sighed.
It was probably some gang related drug issue again.there were plenty of lovely people , but that side of town had a reputation.
"41 responding," I spoke into the radio, before flicking the switch to the lights and sirens.

I love your writing. I was perusing the masterlist and came across the 'Miscommunications' one. If you don't mind, I would love to see your take on the guilty aftermath of one such altercation. One where A can't forgive B, the one who caused it, the one who didn't understand what they did until it was almost too late. A sort of 'It's better to suffer alone, than deal with you anymore' kind of thing. And B utterly miserable at knowing they only have themselves, and their stubborn pride to blame.
I’m glad you enjoy my writing!
As I think the trope mentioned, I do love miscommunication and it is a theme present across many of my universes - in particular, you might enjoy Injection and Wergild if you’ve not read those already!
Now, moving on to your prompt…. (rubs hands together gleefully)
Masterlist.

Nadia woke up to pain. She processed it silently, not daring to move a muscle as she shook off the remnants of the dream. Death and fire. It was the same every time now. Someone would make a mistake and everything would crumble because of it.
Pain was radiating out from the hollow between her neck and shoulder. Damien bit in the same place every time, and she didn’t know how long it’d been, how long she’d been stuck in this nightmare, but it was long enough that the purple-black bruise throbbed viciously with every breath.
She waited, because Moreau never took long to appear after she’d woken up. She remembered the sight of his smirk in her blurry vision, asking the same question every time.
“What does my future hold?”
She refused to answer. Even as Damien mauled her neck each time, draining just enough blood to leave her woozy and on the edge of dreams. She would slip away, and dream of destruction and misery and hopelessness, and then she would come back and it would start all over again.
No one was coming for her, she knew that. Part of that was her fault, she knew, for getting so frustrated in that awful fight that she threatened to leave.
But she had just been angry. She hadn’t meant it. And maybe it would be a sufficient excuse for not looking for her at the beginning, that first day, before tempers could cool.
Nadia couldn’t keep track of time very well, between her visions and the blood loss, but it was long past the time where her disappearance could be excused. The only way they wouldn’t realize she’d been kidnapped was if they didn’t care - if they didn’t check her room to see if she’d left anything behind, if they didn’t call to make sure she was okay, if they didn’t bother to do the most cursory of checks to make sure she left willingly.
But of course they didn’t care. Nadia had only ever fooled herself into thinking they did. She was just a tool to them, like she was to Moreau, and the moment she’d dared to express an original thought, she’d been cast aside.
The frustration welled up in her, but she didn’t have the energy to sustain it, and she slipped back under, dreading her dreams.
~#~
She woke to the smell of lavender. It was odd - a familiar scent. Freya used to decorate the nursery with it. She opened her eyes warily, wondering what fresh hell Moreau had designed for her today.
The wardrobes looked familiar. As did the painting on the wall, a mermaid sunning herself on a rock with corpses floating beneath the water line.
Nadia’s first thought was to wonder how the hell Moreau had managed to get that painting. The second was a bewildering mix of emotions - hope and rage and fear and disbelief and wariness, tangled up in home.
She surged upright - and immediately regretted that, freezing and falling back onto the bed as her shoulder violently protested the action. Hissing through gritted teeth, she curled on her side and forced herself up more slowly.
Her head was spinning, vision fading in and out, and she sat there, head hanging, until movement was no longer accompanied by a sickening wave of pain.
There was a glass of water on the bedside table, and a small box of cookies, and she reached for both. She sipped the water even though she wanted to drown herself in it. The cookies tasted like ambrosia, melting on her tongue and lifting the fog. She ate the whole box.
The sugar helped immensely, and she felt awake for the first time in…days? Weeks? Months? The imprint of fangs on her shoulder served as a throbbing reminder of the half-lucid, mostly-dreaming nightmare state she’d endured.
But now she was home.
Nadia slowly stumbled upright onto shaking feet. The sugar helped, but not that much, and she felt like she was falling with every step. Finally, she grasped the door frame.
She cast a glance back at the room. Her room. Nothing had been changed, even her sheets were the same. There were two books on the nightstand she didn’t remember reading, one was Shakespeare and the other was definitely a children’s book, big letters and bright colors.
Did she remember hearing snatches of a soft voice telling a tale of dragons and mice? Or was that a dream she’d locked away?
If this was a dream, she would cry. If this was Moreau’s sick, twisted idea of how to break her, it would work.
There was no one in the hallway. She followed a low murmur of voices through it, down the stairs, to the large, open-plan living room. She hovered in the shadows, because she needed to see first, to gather the information before she made a decision.
It was her team, not Moreau. It was Freya and Richard and Wright and Jasmine, not Damien. It was Vi gurgling from the bassinet in the corner.
Nadia had not realized how desperately she needed to see her goddaughter until she was halfway to the cradle, her heart in her throat.
The conversation broke off abruptly, but Nadia didn’t care. She heard the hushed stillness, but she was reaching a trembling hand into the cradle and nothing else mattered.
Vi looked up at her, blinking large beautiful brown eyes, her teeny tiny fingers wrapping automatically around Nadia’s index finger, and she smiled.
Nadia broke.
She barely remembered crumpling to the floor, but her head was pressed against the side of the cradle and she was taking in huge, gulping, heaving breaths. There was still something warm wrapped around her finger and Nadia shuddered - in relief, because she was here, she was home - in terror, because nothing that Moreau or Damien had ever done to her could compare to the thought of losing that fragile grip.
Someone’s hands were on her shoulder and she flinched - the pressure disappeared instantly. There were voices around her, but she didn’t have the energy to care.
“Nadia,” a soft one broke through the dullness, “Nadia, can you make it to the chair?”
There were hands on her elbows as though they were going to lift her - going to touch her, move her body like it was a ragdoll, like what Moreau had done over and over because she was too woozy and weak to lift a finger.
Nadia curled up further, gripping the edge of the bassinet and getting up on her own power. She didn’t look at them, she couldn’t look at them. Not yet.
She gently tucked her hands beneath Vi and slowly lifted her up. Vi hummed at that, before kicking her legs in glee. Nadia held the squirming baby carefully as she located the nearest armchair and sank down into it.
Vi squealed happily into her ears and Nadia tried not to cry.
With Vi in her arms, both comfort and shield, she lifted her gaze to consider her once-friends.
Wright had been the one to talk, his hands hovering in the air like he’d intended to catch her if she fell. Freya was vibrating in place, her gaze fixed on Vi. Richard was watching her, his arms crossed. Jasmine looked pale and wan, like she was about to faint. Nadia didn’t know where the others were. She didn’t particularly care.
“How long?” she asked, ignoring the hoarseness of her voice. They all flinched when they heard it, but she sat there patiently, waiting.
“Three weeks,” Richard said finally, his voice twisting, like he wanted it to be an apology but didn’t know how.
Three weeks. She’d been Moreau’s prisoner for twenty-one days, until her dreams had blurred so much she could barely distinguish between reality and her nightmares.
Something tugged on her hair and she looked down to see Vi’s fingers wrapped in a tangle of curls, looking up at her and giggling.
“It took you three weeks to find me,” Nadia said flatly. She didn’t have the energy to sneer the words, to twist them, to hiss with the undercurrent of poison.
It didn’t matter. She could see her words sink in like daggers to the heart.
“You were being held by Moreau,” Freya replied defensively, “His place is a fortress, it wasn’t easy -”
“How long before you realized I was taken?” Nadia asked, because she didn’t need to hear their excuses. She’d heard so many of them already, she could fill in the blanks.
Richard and Wright looked at each other, expressions shifting on both their faces. Jasmine was staring at the floor. Freya’s face was splotchy red. Richard looked away, and back to her, opening his mouth.
She cut him off. “The truth,” she said, “Not whatever lie you just came up with.” Her gaze was hard. She saw the future, not the past, but was she saw was real and truths could not be hidden for long.
Richard and Wright looked back to each other, and Nadia wasn’t very good at reading expressions, but all four of them reeked of guilt.
She felt her heart drop, hollowing out her chest and vanishing into a pit so deep she would never hear it break.
“You didn’t,” she said, and she couldn’t meet their gazes, couldn’t keep looking at expressions that fell to shock and shame and remorse. She stared instead at Vi and watched as the little girl played with a lock of her hair, seemingly fascinated. Even that wasn’t enough to numb her grief.
“You came for Damien,” she said hollowly, as the pieces fell into place. “How disappointed were you when you found me instead?”
“Nadia, no,” Jasmine said roughly. She sounded on the verge of tears, voice cracking. Nadia did not look up. “We’re so so sorry we didn’t come looking for you, but we’re not disappointed - we’re glad we found you, Nadia, we -”
“Are you?” she asked, looking straight at Freya. Freya opened her mouth. And then closed it, pressing her lips into a thin line.
That’s what she thought.
Wright opened his mouth, presumably to soften the blow, but Nadia shook her head. “I don’t want to hear it,” she said quietly, lifting trembling fingers to tickle Vi under her chin.
“But, Nadia -”
“No.”
“You have to -”
“No.”
“Please, Nadia, just -”
“I don’t want to hear it.” Nadia knew that there were tears rolling down her face, dripping silently to be soaked into Vi’s cute little shirt that had a yellow sun and bouncing green frogs. Vi laughed and cooed, her tiny arms moving like windmills.
The tears dripped faster.
~#~
“What the hell was that, Freya?” Wright hissed, furious, as they relocated to the next room. They could still see Nadia, curled up on the armchair with Violette in her arms. Jasmine sat on a nearby couch, watching them both silently.
Freya itched with the urge to go back in there and snatch her niece from Nadia’s shaking hands.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Freya said through clenched teeth.
“Really?!” Wright snarled, “You just told her that you wished you got Damien out instead of her!”
“Damien is my brother,” Freya retorted, spinning around to glare at him, “Did you want me to lie?!”
“We would’ve appreciated it if you didn’t treat Nadia like an annoying pest you’d almost got rid of,” Richard said quietly.
“I don’t wish that we got rid of her,” Freya snapped, “And I don’t see how you can stand there and lecture me! We all thought she left!”
Richard and Wright both flinched, spasms of guilt crossing their face, and she knew the words had hit.
Wright sighed, and dropped into a chair, burying his head in his hands. “We haven’t found Damien,” he said listlessly, “And we’ve lost Nadia’s trust. We have no idea what futures she’s given Moreau.”
“We can just ask her,” Freya responded, still feeling needled.
“I’m sure that conversation will go over well,” Richard said dryly, “Or do you want her to actually leave this time?”
Freya didn’t respond, because she wasn’t sure. Sometimes, it felt like the seer caused more problems than she solved.
“I’m surprised, Freya,” Wright said, looking at her, “I thought you wanted to be a part of Vi’s life.”
Freya froze, heart hammering. “What does Violette have to do with anything?” she snarled more than asked, glaring at Wright.
Wright didn’t seem phased. “Nadia’s her godmother,” Wright said, and Freya realized the chilling implications.
“I’m her aunt!” Freya protested, but Wright ignored her.
“Marie’s dead, and Damien has lost his fucking mind. Who did you think had custody of Vi?”
Freya turned away from him, balling her hands into fists, because he was right.
“Fine,” she snapped, “I’ll play nice with Nadia.”
“I’m not sure that it’ll make a difference,” Richard said quietly. He was peering into the living room, at Nadia’s tear-stained face and painful smile as Vi giggled at something.
“I’m not sure she wants anything to do with us anymore.”

Need Advice? Try These Home Improvement Tips You can change the atmosphere of a certain space by completing a home improvement project. Simple ideas can offer you different ways to renovate or decorate your space. Reading this article will give you some tips on how to successfully plan out your own home improvement projects. Make sure you understand your style before customizing your home. The decorating style that you choose should serve as the catalyst for your project. Without a plan, you can easily end up with mixed styles. Fixing mistakes is always more costly than doing things correctly the first time. If you are looking to reduce you energy costs, you could change your lighting system to operate on motion sensors. It is still possible to turn the light on manually, and the sensitivity is adjustable. New flooring can instantly update any room. You have a choice of coverings to chose from these days with carpet, hardwood and tile all being viable options. Have a chat with a well-known flooring firm to ascertain what would work best for you. Do not buy furniture that is upholstered with strong patterns. These patterns will have to match other aspects of the room. Accessories are an inexpensive and easily changed way to give neutral, solid-colored furniture an injection of pattern and color. If you want patterns, use pillows and throw blankets to have patterns but also design control. As you start out doing your renovations, do not demolish things too fast. It is important to make sure the walls are intact when taking down a cabinet. Avoid expensive repair bills from damaged electrical wiring by carefully examining the area first. When hiring a contractor, be sure to keep good records and always sign a clearly stated contract. Don't assume that your contractor will do this for you. Keep a copy of any invoices and signed agreements that are generated as a result of the project. This will help both you and your contractor remain focused on the task at hand. It is a normal process for chair caning to sag after awhile. This is easily correctable, however. Simply soak the bottom of the cane chair seat with water. A sponge is useful for this purpose. Use warm water to do this. Allow it to dry overnight. Repeat this process until you know the caning is repaired to the fullest extent. Try to use only natural materials for any home improvement projects being done inside. Real building supplies like wood and stone are much better than using synthetic ones. Not only do they look better, but they are more durable as well. Even though more costly, these natural materials are ultimately cheaper because synthetic materials need to be replaced often. A splash of paint can really update your space so give it a try! The overall look of any room can change with a new coat of paint. Interior painting offers an excellent return on your investment; the cost is modest but the value it adds to your home is significant. Use light colors that work with your decor. If your home isn't complete with a shower, it is wise to think about having one installed. A shower is easier to get into than a bathtub and also limits the water consumed by people in the house. This is especially true if you have kids. A shower that takes five minutes uses less than a quarter of the water required to fill a tub. When your work must go out in the street, talk to your neighbors about it as soon as you can. You might have to block the road or keep a dumpster in the yard or on the street. If you let your neighbors know ahead of time, they will most likely be less annoyed and inconvenienced. Be sure to add personal touches, but don't go so far as to make your place "that" house. It is important not to have a house that looks out of place on the street. This will make your house a hard sell in the future. Add motion-detecting lights to your home's exterior to save money and increase security. Motion sensing lights stay off until they detect motion in their path, and then they turn on automatically. Unwanted guests may pass on burglarizing your home if lights suddenly come on, alerting you to their presence. Don't purchase blinds until you've thoroughly measured the space in which they will be installed. There is little that you can do that feels as good as home improvement projects. Putting your time into a task that makes your home more comfortable or functional can make you feel fantastic. Sometimes, it's a little hard to know where to begin. In this article, we share some excellent tips on improving your home and making it look its absolute best.
During the summer, use all the fans that you can. They circulate air and make your home more comfortable. Saving money on your bills is paramount, as it can add up over time.
Buying a microwave built for over-the-range installation can free up a little valuable counter-top real estate in your kitchen. These units take the place of a range hood and are available at a variety of price points. Some even have features such as built-in convection cooking. However, these units often only provide a recirculating filter, so if you are a cook who needs a good ventilation system, you may need to look elsewhere.
As you tackle home improvements, be mindful to observe your surroundings, making sure to do just those projects that are sensible. Odd projects, like uninsulated sun rooms in colder areas or an open deck in places where the weather is unbearably hot can give a potential buyer pause. Make sure you perform renovations that are desired. Never attempt to do renovations that don't make sense with your climate.
After moving to your next location, consider taking the first few weeks for insulating the interior and encapsulating the warmer air. Use the opportunity to add weather stripping to every door and window. This helps seal up the air from entering your home, which in turn allows your cooling and heating systems to function a lot better. Money saved means money to be placed towards more important projects around the house.
One great way to save money on winter heating costs is insulating your attic. When a home does not have proper insulation, it will lose heat, since it rises. Insulation is available at hardware stores and can be easily installed.
Use exhaust fans to keep each of the bathrooms aired out and the laundry room free of odors. This will help prevent mold from forming. Ventilation also lowers the amount of humidity, which prevents wall rot due to trapped condensation.
You needn't rely on artwork to improve the decor of your home, rather you can try installing three dimensional tile. You can use wall decals that come in thousands of different designs that will fit any budget.
Don't underestimate the aesthetic power of a good door. It is what welcomes guests and sends them on their way. Keep in mind that poorly insulated or fitted door can let a lot of heat out. Security is also an issue for doors with old or inferior frames and locks.
If you want to do a project yourself, first write out everything you will have to accomplish. Ask someone who knows what they are doing to check it and make sure you didn't forget anything. Even if you have to pay for the contractor to look at your list, it will be worth it to make sure you haven't missed an important step or supply.
Before painting any surface, always wipe down the surface to remove stains, dirt or grease. This helps the paint stick to the wall better, and may also reduce the amount of paint required. It can also save you from having to re-apply paint later.
You should determine what any major project is going to cost prior to beginning it. Buying materials in bulk can save quite a bit of money. Long lead times are often involved when the purchase of certain materials and equipment is involved. If you do not order them ahead of time, it may make your project drag on.
Change the accessories to give each room of your home a fresh look. A couple of pillows or a pretty picture can make a huge difference in the room's look. For a high fashion look, select window treatments, pillows and tableware or vases in a coordinating color.
Heating your tile floors is an easy and inexpensive upgrade. Research radiant heat before deciding on what type of flooring to use. The sales person will be able to guide you on which type of flooring should be used as well as the options available for radiant heating. Potential buyers of your house will see this as an advantage.
Turn off water if you are working on any home improvements near the water lines. Before attempting to repair or replace your sink, locate and turn off your home's water supply.

Small holes could appear, and moisture could get inside the walls creating mold that could cause respiratory problems to some people. When there are cracks and openings in the caulking, water will seep in and start to damage the floors and walls below. Before reapplying caulking, you must remove all of the worn caulking.
If you want to make home improvements and you aren't sure where to start, you might want to hire a home designer. They can help you get the most for your money to get the look you are after. You don't have to be alone when renovating your home; there is always professional help for hire.

Make certain all caulking is up to par. Remember to check the state of the caulking around the sink and tub in your bathroom from time to time. Small holes could appear, and moisture could get inside the walls creating mold that could cause respiratory problems to some people. When there are cracks and openings in the caulking, water will seep in and start to damage the floors and walls below. Before reapplying caulking, you must remove all of the worn caulking. You might have trouble installing the blinds properly, if you take the wrong measurements for the windows. Blinds come in a variety of sizing, and the positioning of the installation on the window frame can vary also. What's the weather going to be like? If you live in an area that is known for strong winds and heavy rains, a patio or barbecue might not be the best investment. Adding a covering to your patio may help, but the investment may not be worth it. It's not hard to revamp most bathrooms and kitchens by installing (or replacing) ceramic tile. The designs can be unique or you can try modern, simplistic ones with a full solid color. These types of home improvements can add a great looking boost to the overall value of your home. Consider the money you spend now on insulation to be an investment in your long term savings. Older homes especially are way under insulated. You can save money for years if you add insulation to a crawl space or attic. A wonderful idea for all homeowners into home improvement, is taking classes in your local store that sells home improvement items. A lot of times the bigger home improvement stores offer classes on many projects. So before you start knocking out your drywall with a hammer, educate yourself on the subject a little bit. The article above talked about home improvement affecting your feelings about your space. There are many different ways to make home improvements. Follow each and every tip that is applicable in your situation. When done take a second to ponder what project should come next and how you may align your time to better suit your needs.
Improve Your Home With Confidence With These Home Improvement Tips
