i have been thinking about this allllll day whitewashing is awful and blackwashing doesnt exist but asian hate does like whens the last time youve seen a white character drawn as black ive seen 1 ever and it was Batman and it was great but why are 99% of "raceswaps" or whatever theyre called done to asian characters, ive never seen fucking "asianwashing" either What is this trend

#this take goes on sideblog until i can get my thoughts together #idk like its NICE seeing yourself in other characters but i think more thoughtfulness should be had when it comes to #how and why you 'raceswap' a character esp when darker skinned asians are victims of racism colonization and colorism #and have near 0 representation at all like!!!! i think its fun playing with designs for known characters but idk #i think its an outcome of more oppression olympics like Oh asian people are just as capable of racism as white people #so therefore making this asian character black is ok???? o3o what are you on about #also the only people who use 'blackwashing' seriously are racist white people 😒 and 'raceswap' is such a fandom ass term that sounds WORSE #idk idk idk. black people deserve more representation in mainstream media but i dont think anime. is mainstream media #and raceswapping also isnt the solution to that problem. obviously.
