i know i said hi to you like. two hours ago but that feels like an entire day ago so. hi again. got any mika thoughts? any thoughts on spooky season? i suppose it's not surprising that you don't celebrate halloween, but at the same time it's fascinating to me... are there any other holidays in Croatia that are similar?? (i feel like you've mentioned one but i'm bad at remembering orz)
Awughh hiii! Hm, we can combine, how ab spooky mika thoughts? But ig that can turn to yand pretty quickly.
Hmhmhm how about a lil ramble for the uquiz? I'm still bad at making up questions, but I like my plan so far. Introductiory questions asking ab the player's general habits and personality, and then seguing through that into setting the scene. Gradual passing from the foyer of the manor to the various rooms and hallways where you have to get around various traps and such. I'm still wondering on that... I'd think Mika's traps and Shu... idk what role I want Shu to take on tbh. He's the "puppetmaster" but he should be more active himself since one of the bad endings is being killed by him. I'll have to think on it as I write that. But about Mika! I think he'd work traps. He still can't see in the dark so his tell is recently-put-out candles and such, and he'd set up traps in advance. I guess, then, Shu can be the one directly trying to harm you. I guess I still have time to see. More on Mika (i'm writing this stream of consciousness without much editing since i'm Exhausted so i apologise if it feels all over the place😭). I think he deserves to be Very Creepy with this concept. Entirely silent, but after he places the traps he still stalks the player because he still needs to lay the finishing blow when they do get trapped. For example, while one trap can break their leg and trap them, he'd still need to kill them. So there could be the added unease of feeling someone's eyes on you constantly or even hearing faint footsteps.
As for celebrating! Yeah, Halloween isn't much of a celebration here. We have carnival traditions (or fašnik, or maškare) where people dress up, eat fried dough foods, burn big dolls of Krnjo (the poor guy we blame all our problems on - and then symbolically execute him for those crimes), and so on. It's not exactly creepy (as Meowyoi argued with me), but there are also traditions like the bellmen (zvončari) whose function was to like. Chase out evil spirits by ringing bells and wearing scary masks. It's fun, but bc people dress up and make merry for it, and because All Hallows' Day is still a holiday here, there wasn't really much reason for Halloween to stick, I guess? Like, of course, some people like it more than others, and you can buy SpookyTM stuff in October, but you'll sooner get "trick-or-treaters" (aka "maškare") in February than in October. So we don't get discounted candy either. :(
