#Building off Blackmore's memetics#a song as a memetic entity encodes it's virality along multiple avenues: lyrically and melodically or tune that make them so enduring#they are able to evolve while staying recognizably the same and can be grouped into families and lineages#because it's a reflection of the cultural context and conversations happening between the people making the songs#but these postmodernists love toying with the living idea that exists shaped by but still discrete from humanity#it's why they have a fascination with technology and AI#or at least did ten years ago my understanding is that a lot of current scholarly focus in this side of LitCrit is elsewhere#hope you enjoyed my stoned rambling if you've made it this far send me a DM with your favorite English Major Moment
