To be more precise "Judenhass" in the 1800s was considered to refer to hatred of Judaism (the religion) & Jewish culture. It was theoretically possible to escape it by converting to Christianity & assimilating into the dominant culture.
The word "Antisemitism" was invented so that people like Wilhelm Marr (who popularised the term in the late 1870s, I can't remember if he coined the term or adopted it from a fellow antisemite) had a term specifically to refer to hatred of Jews as an ethnic group, a race of people, rather than as a religion or culture.
People like Wilhelm Marr (who proudly wore the label as he popularised the term) wanted it clear that they hated Jewish people for their blood. It didn't matter if someone converted & assimilated. Marr & his fellow antisemites still wanted them dead. It didn't matter if someone only had one Jewish grandparent & had no exposure to Jewish culture or Judaism. If you had Jewish ancestry, it didn't matter what you did, who you were as a person, people like Marr would still want you dead & created the label "antisemite" for themselves specifically to describe this difference between them & people whose "Judenhass" was religiously motivated.
But most of the self-confessed antisemites in the 1800s never really thought about non-Jewish people speaking Semitic languages in Africa or the Middle East. In the 20th century, the Third Reich under Adolf Hitler was explicitly clear that the term antisemite referred to hating ethnic Jews & that ethnic Arabs weren't considered to be Semites under Nazi reckoning. Indeed Hitler had mostly positive feelings towards Arabs & had Arab friends, including avid Nazi collaborator & participant in the Shoah, Muhammed Amin al-Husseini, aka the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem.
The term "antisemite" has never referred to Arabs, Eritreans or Ethiopians. It has always being about hating Jewish people or assimilated descendants of Jewish people. To pretend otherwise is a distortion of history.
remembering the time a jewish girl called me anti Semitic because i liked goblin cookie from cookie run and didnt believe the grinch was made to make fun of jews, but im literally Eritrean. my mom is an immigrant.

---; A Character Study
Family life
Nuclear family: "In its most common usage, refers to a household consisting of a father, a mother, and their children, all in one household dwelling."
It was & is still in some cases, seen as the epitome of a successful life. The husband provides while the wife is a homemaker & her children are instilled with the modern day values that will help shape their core personality & governing them as they venture out into the world whilst being the representation of how their mother & father raised them in the home.
& while that was not the route her family took, they still married & through their love at the time, conceive a lovely child. The picture was starting to become perfect. Their home was coming together & progress was being made. & then, the careers of both began to blossom. Her father, an artist, found himself on the road alot more, showcasing his work & stockpiling money to send home. At first, it wasn't something her mother couldn't handle. In fact, his creativity was on the reason she fell in love in the first place. His colorful view of the world verses her more analytical approach created a beautiful balance between the two of them.
Then one week passed. Then two. The dust would settle & the broken heart began to set in Whenever he would come home. This pattern would happen for alittle over a year; the interaction had become minimum not just for her Saeko, but for Ami as well however, the child did not put too much stock in it for her father still tried. He could still try & keep something with her. Her mother, on the other hand, knew what had happened. The way he looked at her was different. The way he acted & held her was different. The bright colors he once brought to her life were slowly morphing into shades of grey & she couldn't understand why until---she saw it. On a shirt, inside the color, kiss marks.
Their confrontation was not explosive. It was not raging. It was not destructive. It was intense, stern & firm. "How long" Was all muttered before the conversation took place. He didn't fight, he didn't scream nor beg. He packed a bag and in the dead of night he left to gather himself think of the next steps. & With him gone, Saeko did what she tried so hard not to do infront of him for his did not deserve to see her shattered. She sat on the bed and cried into their wedding photo. And from her room, with the door ajar, a young girl witnessed the sounds of her beloved mother crying & overcome with her own emotion & inability to fix what was wrong, cried silently too.
It has been years since that day & while Saeko & her ex husband do not speak, in her daughter's presence refuses to speak ill of her. Instead, she opts to speak of him at all. Which is even more of a detriment to a child. Her father from time to time will send a painting home addressed to Ami. She keeps them but does not display them in the home out of respect for her mother & her outward disdain for her father.
Ami always wondered if that was why she was out of house & working as much as she did. There is not telling if there was any settlement or if Saeko let his ex-husband go free without a fight for her own sanity but to take on the burden of being a single parent & being responsible full time is a something Ami is forever grateful for. She didn't drag it out. She didn't allow her divorce to get ugly. She refused to cause her daughter anymore grief because the answer to the question of "why is daddy leaving" would devastate such a young soul. The love she has for her child is what keeps her working all hours of the day & night & gone for days at a time. Its why she finds herself commutating with her child through prepared meals made late at night or days in advance with notes & well wishes for the days made up to mask the silent apology for not being home again. This was her way of showing Ami that in the end, you have to be able to rely on yourself & be your own biggest support system. At the end day, no matte how many friends & relationships we accumulate, we still need to be able to support ourselves in our darkest moments. We must have self perseverance.
& it because of that, that Ami can never find herself upset or angry with Saeko. She will never deem what she did for her little family wrong. The lonely nights & quiet living space is just reminders of what she was doing & that she had to do it. As a woman, Ami empathized with Saeko. The heartbreak & betrayal she endured had to have been world shattering. The perception of love being long lasting must have also now be misconstrued. The well of love Ami has for her mother & her the respect she has for her sacrifice is overflowing.
Their family is tiny. Their family is broken. Their family is unconventional. & that's ok.

The way there's a new wave of anti trans legislation. The way the manosphere has exploded online and anti-feminist rhetoric has increased tenfold. The increased attack on people marginalized by gender and sexuality... hmmmmmmmm
It all feels so connected
Yes, because one of the key social goals of fascism is to exert control over personal autonomy (especially women), prioritize "traditional" models of family, gender, and sexuality, and attempt to roll back social liberalization and/or acceptance of diversity. This is precisely what the Nazis did in the 1930s: cracking down on homosexuality after the comparative tolerance of the Weimar Republic, restricting and attempting to outlaw abortion while encouraging German women to have lots of "Aryan" children, and destroying Dr. Magnus Hirschfeld's pioneering Institute for Sexual Research in Berlin, which had a huge library of queer history books and offered some of the first gender-confirmation surgeries in the world.
Sooooooo.

So like. My dad Michael au right
Its all fluffy n fuzzy right? Weeeeell
Vanessa still very much controlled and manipulated by glitchtrap, resulting in her suddenly leaving her family home and gaining memory loss
Michael is very very distressed when Vanessa goes missing, and searches for her everywhere- but to no avail. She left no note, not even a clue as to where she went, and Michael is terrified for her safety.
Later on, about a year later- gregory starts acting... off. Michael sometimes swears some of his new behavior reminds him of William, but he does his best to brush it off as just being related to William. The whole 'doctor rab' thing is both cute and concerning.
Then gregory goes missing too.
It was the same thing as Vanessa- starting to act weird then disappearing with hardly a trace.
Michael searches and searches, his mental and thus physical health deteriorating. Sammy has to watch his friend crumble after losing two children, doing his best to support Michael- but Michael keeps pushing him away, insisting he's fine, he just needs to keep looking.
Henry does his best to help too, babysitting Cassie and even coming around to help with Michaels restaurant. It breaks his heart when Cassie asks, in tears, "Why does daddy not pay attention to me anymore?"
It doesn't help that Michael had once asked him the exact same thing.
A year, almost two years later- Michael finally finds a distress call from no one other than gregory, not long after the Pizzaplex had partially collapsed and become abandoned.
Michael went looking, completely unaware of his youngest daughter following after him.

  ---; 𝐀 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲
                      𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄 𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐔𝐀𝐆𝐄𝐒
There are five love languages that translates to people your feelings towards them, whether it be romantic, platonic for familial. 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞, 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬, 𝐆𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐬,  𝐏𝐡𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐜𝐡. While some are more craved for then others, they all are needed in order to obtain and maintain long lasting relationships.
𝐆𝐢𝐟𝐭 𝐆𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠
This is the number one way Ami shows her love. She does not expect the kindness to be returned for the value of seeing the person's face when receiving the gift is enough for the reward system in her brain to react. Ami finds enjoyment in curating gifts that are specific to whomever she is giving it to. For birthdays, holidays or just as a way to say 'thank you for being here' Ami lets the unsuspecting person tell her what they want with the context clues of their lives. Colors, words, accents and anything else that tells the quiet stories of people and their lives. For her, there is something magical about finding or making something that is specific to a person. It shows that person that you are present in their life, in every conversation whether they are aware of not. That their life is meaningful including the parts that don't get enough sunlight. This is the way Ami pens her messages of love to people.          - ❝𝐼 𝑙𝑜𝑣𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑤𝘩𝑎𝑡 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑠𝘩𝑜𝑤, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑑𝑜𝑛'𝑡 𝑠𝘩𝑜𝑤 𝑡𝘩𝑒 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑙𝑑. 𝐼𝑡 𝑖𝑠 𝑏𝑒𝑎𝑢𝑡𝑖𝑓𝑢𝑙. 𝑌𝑜𝑢 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑏𝑒𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑓𝑢𝑙. 𝑃𝑙𝑒𝑎𝑠𝑒 𝑟𝑒𝑚𝑒𝑚𝑏𝑒𝑟 𝑡𝘩𝑎𝑡.❞
𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬
This act is almost tied with gift giving but comes in second place. However, there is nothing secondary about it. If asked to do a task if it means to help someone in needs, Ami does not hesitate to drop what she is doing to lend aid. This involves a level of trust that must exist between all parties involves and she sees a beauty in knowing that she is trusted with someone's needs, their care, their heart. For in trusting someone, you are offering your heart to them as well. You are showing that you need for help that might not be showcased to others. In offering that vulnerability, you are entrusting that the person will not damage it. Ami finds this act of love endearing because it calls on the recipient to let go of control and believe in the person they are giving it to. She doesn't take that strength for granted and instead nurtures it by offering her own heart in return.                       - ❝𝐼 𝑣𝑎𝑙𝑢𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑡𝑟𝑢𝑠𝑡 𝑖𝑛 𝑚𝑒. 𝐼 𝑤𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝑛𝑜𝑡 𝑠𝑞𝑢𝑎𝑛𝑑𝑒𝑟 𝑖𝑡. 𝐼 𝑤𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝑐𝘩𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑠𝘩 𝑖𝑡. 𝐼 𝑐𝘩𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑠𝘩 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑤𝑖𝑡𝘩 𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑡𝘩𝑎𝑡 𝐼 𝑎𝑚.❞
𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
For a person who self-esteem is on display for the world to see by her own folly (albeit for her own good), the meaningful words of others do often times manage to banish away the demon know as self doubt. This is ranked in the middle for Ami for she is a firm believer in actions speak louder than words even could. An only child from a broken family, Ami learned very young that words can be thrown around haphazardly without a care for the people who they are being said to. She knows now that they were meant to soft the blow up of her family life but has made everlasting damage to her psyche. Ami needs things to be hammered home to her; she will not believe the statement otherwise. Any one can say the words and give false meaning behind them but very few can put for the real, raw emotion that is needed to get through to her. Ami has been shown that nothing lasts forever; that vows taken can mean the world one day, and mean nothing the next. While sweet nothings are nice in theory, if your heart is closed off they will wither and die with the changing season. Words of affirmation will only stick with Ami with persistence and patience; knowing that this is not a refelction of the person and their inability to get through but just shows that pieces of a broken girl who desperate to believe it but can't bring herself to hear it. - ❝𝐸𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑦𝑡𝘩𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑤𝑒 𝑘𝑛𝑜𝑤 𝘩𝑎𝑠 𝑏𝑒𝑒𝑛 𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑚𝑒𝑑, 𝑐𝑢𝑙𝑡𝑖𝑣𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑑 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑏𝑟𝑜𝑘𝑒𝑛 𝑏𝑦 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑑𝑠. 𝑇𝘩𝑒𝑦 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑤𝑟𝑖𝑡𝑒 𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑙𝑜𝑣𝑒 𝑠𝑡𝑜𝑟𝑦 𝑤𝘩𝑖𝑙𝑒 𝑠𝑢𝑏𝑠𝑒𝑛𝑞𝑢𝑙𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑙𝑦 𝑏𝑢𝑟𝑛 𝑖𝑡 𝑡𝑜 𝑡𝘩𝑒 𝑔𝑟𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑑.❞
𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞
Time in the end, is all we have to speak of everything we have done in this world. Yet, it means so little to those who have wrapped their identity in their loneiless. Ami thrives in her solutide not because she wanted to, but because he had to. With both her mother and father having professional lives that took them away most of the time, Ami had to learn to be comfortable in the silence. It was always there. It asked for nothing but her company and in it, she found a safety the world couldn't provide her. A invasion of that without her consent feels violent to her and can cause Ami to lash out and act coldly towards those who know not the reason for her outburst. While she doesn't outright rejects nor detests sharing space with others, it is not something she outwardly advertises. Yet, the more time spent in the company of others, the less appealing the silence is. It is terrifying. It is becoming a want she doesn't understand and knows not what to do with it. A break in a pattern she formed to find solace in the loneliness she feels. To know that you can be safe with others outside of the bubble almost seems imagery.  -  ❝𝐼 𝘩𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑙𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑛𝑒𝑑 𝑡𝑜 𝑙𝑜𝑣𝑒 𝑚𝑦 𝑙𝑜𝑛𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑒𝑠𝑠. 𝐼 𝘩𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑙𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑛𝑒𝑑 𝑡𝑜 𝑟𝑒𝑙𝑦 𝑜𝑛 𝑚𝑦 𝑙𝑜𝑛𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑒𝑠𝑠. 𝐼 𝑎𝑚 𝑠𝑐𝑎𝑟𝑒𝑑 𝑡𝑜 𝑙𝑒𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑚𝑦 𝑙𝑜𝑛𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑒𝑠𝑠. 𝑊𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑏𝑒 𝑡𝘩𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝑤𝘩𝑒𝑛 𝐼 𝑤𝑎𝑛𝑡 𝑖𝑡 𝑛𝑜 𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑒?❞
𝐏𝐡𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐜𝐡
Human beings connect first by touch. When we are born, we have placed upon our mother's chest for the warmth and first initial contact. We drink from her breast for noursment, she cradles us when we cry and and as we grow, we learn the ways touch conveys words, emotions, intent, and thought processes. Many things that lack the word equvalinet can be spoke throught the language of touch. Yet, that such a concept is seen as foreign and invasive to someone who is touch starved. While she does not doubt that her mother and father do love her, their way of showing such emotion is abstract and vauge at best. Dissection is needed in order to impterpret the emotion behind sticky notes and chicken scratch letters. Ami can recall the last time her mother has hugged her, down to the date and time and if asked about it, while her lips might mouth something akin to it was lovely, her eyes show an encased sadness of being able to recall the last time she felt physical touch. While her friends sometimes do make it a point to touch and hug her if need be, Ami will tense in their embrace. Skin crawls and the need to crawl out of her skin becomes more than she can be. Yet, she witstand it and stays in their embrace; she thinks that exspoure would help such actions not feel so awkward. So invasive. So....there are no words to give it. It hurts. It confuses. It leaves her open to whatever may be. And maybe...that is a good thing. For the lack of it will only make it worse in the long run. It is needed. It is wanted and the realization of knowing that, breaks her heart. - ❝𝐼 𝑐𝑎𝑛𝑛𝑜𝑡 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑝𝑟𝑒𝘩𝑒𝑛𝑑 𝑤𝘩𝑦 𝑖𝑡 𝘩𝑢𝑟𝑡𝑠 𝑚𝑒 𝑡𝑜 𝑓𝑒𝑒𝑙 𝑦𝑜𝑢, 𝑏𝑢𝑡 𝐼 𝑤𝑎𝑛𝑡 𝑡𝑜. 𝐼 𝑛𝑒𝑒𝑑 𝑡𝑜. 𝐼 𝑤𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝑓𝑒𝑒𝑙 𝑡𝘩𝑒 𝑝𝑎𝑖𝑛 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑒𝑚𝑏𝑟𝑎𝑐𝑒 𝑖𝑡 𝑤𝑖𝑡𝘩 𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑡𝘩𝑎𝑡 𝐼 𝑎𝑚 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑖𝑡 𝑚𝑒𝑎𝑛𝑠 𝑏𝑒𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑐𝑙𝑜𝑠𝑒𝑟 𝑡𝑜 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑡𝘩𝑎𝑛 𝐼 𝘩𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟 𝑏𝑒𝑒𝑛.❞
