idk why i didn't get a notif for being tagged in this though i did see it on my dash (so if anyone's tagged me in anything lately i didn't ignore it, i just didn't see it ;-;)—

it's been a minute since i've seen scream, though i'm into this AU concept. for halloween costumes, i can picture nico showing leo some horror movies. nico would insist that billy & stu are definitely gay for each other, though leo doesn't see it at first because, bless him, he doesn't have the media literacy that nico has. nico then tells him about how romantic it is to do the most intimate thing together—no, not sex, taking life from another person!—& keeping it a secret for only the two of them until death.

leo's unsure if he should be afraid or turned on, but what else is new? he'd ultimately be the one to offer the couple's costume idea, as it's the only one they can agree on (nico wouldn't be the fiona to his shrek, unfortunately :') )

as for murder boyfriends...that's even more fun imo. there's a lot of family & demigod & glory drama that can mix in the messiest of ways to prompt a murder.

i can see this coinciding with the jealous!leo i've been writing in the ceaselessverse, though obviously to a much darker extent than normal teenaged jealousy. he would be stirred to madness at nico's relationship with percy, whatever that may be. and nico, darker in this AU as he still holds a grudge over what happened with bianca, would go along with this murder. i could see nico being like a temptation, a seductive muse, telling leo that nothing would be more romantic than taking life from every boy interested in nico, as he's leo's & leo's alone.

i would wonder who would eventually catch them. i can see a route where jason and annabeth are both working to find Ghostface, though they part ways in their investigation when annabeth suggests the unthinkable. she really suspects leo, and jason can't think of his best friend in that way. he would finally come to the conclusion that it's nico, and he would be devestated, seeing as he was rooting for him to become a well-adjusted & likable demigod, everything nico knew was impossible for him.

jason would then confront him, and nico would do the surprising thing & offer jason to join him. he would pull at his heartstrings (not literally 👁️👁️) & pity him for his experience at camp jupiter. he was raised by wolves, killed a titan with his bare hands, and yet he seems neutered & weak by his own intentions. if this were a movie, you would see jason's expression change, genuinely pondering this offer. then, he would open his mouth, only to be killed at the last second by leo. nico would appear cold & unfeeeling about this development, prompting one to wonder if he actually was offering jason to join them, or if he was merely offering a distraction for leo to go in for the kill...

(annabeth, in this scenario, would be the lovable Final Girl)

and, ofc, circling back to the initmacy of seeing the light leave someone's eyes, of experiencing the power of snuffing out a life with someone you love in the secrecy of darkness. there's an intimacy to murder, a domesticity to cleaning the blood, that leaves nico & leo wondering when they can experience the thrill of each other's blood on their hands...
