Torpeedo
Nykyhetki on piste, summa on tie.
Mut kauas vie jo seuraava tuokion hiukka.
Tie lyhenee. Tie lähenee Mut rannalla viisahat veisaa. Meress’ joissain on salakallio, sodan yltiöpäinen turmio!
— Merirosvo, loppus sun kohtalos. — En pelkää! ilkkuvi päällikkö. — Hyvin hallita kansoja kansoja taidan… Riiviö lasin kohottaa. — Hepo tahtoo piiskaa ja kauraa, niin kansakin! Herrat hohottaa. Ja naiset irstahat nauraa.
Heillä riemua on, remu loppumaton, halu nautinnon, halu verraton. — Liha herras vain … vähän hauras. Tie lyhenee — Meren kummitus, lue rukous!
Vapaus! Elon kallehin aarre se, oma onnenne, iki ihanne maan kansojen kaunoisin. — Yhä vieläkin vartovat veljenne, yhä viivytte…
Ulos laivasta! Nyt uskaltakaa! Kaikk’ kahleet kerralla katkaiskaa. Ulos merelle! Uikaa veljien punapurppuralipun alle! Se pelastaa! Se kokoaa puna-armeijaa työnhuolista taivasalle, maan ääriin, valtamerten taa, ylös kuiluista kunnahille!

Bill's Fate
Since I couldn't find it anywhere online, I decided to post the entire poem explaining Bill's fate here.
Book of Bill SPOILERS under the cut! But if you wish to read anyway, you won't find out what exactly Bill's fate was.
On the day Bill Cipher died
He used the trick he'd never tried.
...
Shattered, broken, not yet dead
Cipher left the con man's head
A desperate plea, some panicked prayers
To meet the frilly guy upstairs.
...
In a tank outside of space
The opposites met face-to-face
Just one shot to live again
He pled his case to his old friend
...
"Look, from one god to another,
Who cares I tried to kill those brothers?
They're all ants, it's all a game
Let's press restart and try again
I'm too cool and fun to die
Just give this angle one more tri."
...
The ax sighed in a knowing way
He expected this was what Bill'd say
...
"You cannot regrow through denial
You'll have to face my hardest trial
See my program to the end
Then you may yet live again."
...
"Am I fighting demons? Eating ghosts?"
"You're getting what you need the most."
...
"One way to absolve your crimes
To change your form will take some time."
...
Bill could not believe his luck
This salamander was a schmuck!
Easier than he ever thought it,
He faked remorse--
The guppy bought it!
In combat Bill was undefeated
Whatever challenge, he could beat it!
...
Bill shook the Ax's hand with glee
How bad could these trials be?

gifmaker / cc wrapped 2023!
thanks for tagging me my angel @jkvjimin 💜
i tried really hard not to choose all comp sets, but those take the most effort and therefore are what i'm prouder of than a standard set, but regardless...
here are my top 10 fave creations of the year:
bts chapter 1 insta feed // this was an insanely taxing project and is probably the most work i've ever put into anything, but i was really inspired to do it. it took about a week (one day for each panel) and was repetitive, i literally threw out my back by day 3 from sitting working on it that my body was in SO MUCH PAIN, but i wanted to get everything right and make it make sense which is why i wrote up a detail post breaking it down and explaining every decision that went into this. i still intend to make this a series and do one dedicated to their japanese discography (i actually started on one before i published this but didn't like the concept) and for their solo work, but it doesn't feel like the right time yet as things continue to release. but i look forward to it!
cheesy bts valentine cards // this was purposely corny, but the response was unbelievable! i had fun working on it and was so happy it made people laugh and smile. the tags were a joy to read on this post and it's my fourth most popular gifset ever. thank you!
bts guide to troubled birds // yet another corny idea, but i get a kick out of making silly comps and was inspired to make this. i started with jimin's as an experiment because his poem was the easiest to choose and built the rest of it from there, carefully deciding which poem to apply to each member and recreating them from scratch. i love celebrating their chaos in fun ways, so this was nice!
jungkook's sensitive tear ducts // sometimes i get really random comp ideas and spontaneously start making something with no plan. this was one of those times and it is now my third most popular gifset since making this blog in 2020 lol. ofc i'd never gif him upset about anything serious, so i only chose moments that didn't feel inappropriate to include to keep this set lighthearted and humorous.
long live bts (10th anniversary set) // i always knew i wanted to make something with the lyrics of that song because every word of it reminds me of their story. the 10th anniversary was perfect since it literally says "it was the end of a decade". i wanted the set to just be really simple so i went with a more desaturated look and focused more on choosing a scene from each year that fit the lyric per that gif.
love me again mv // this was my first time bothering to gif a music video in 4k. i usually avoid it bc it slows my computer down and takes a lot longer (i also have to reconvert the youtube download to a different file type to get it to play in my kmplayer, it's a whole process) but i waited a few days after it came out because i originially didn't think i could color it when it premiered so i just didn't gif it. but i gave it a try anyway when i didn't feel so pressured and i really like how crisp they came out.
jungkook's bday set // i didn't have a plan for this when i started, but i searched a lot for inspo and finally found something i felt like i could make something with so i came up with this very barbie-esque rendition for jungkook that i'm still very fond of. i purposely didn't write happy birthday on it anywhere so it could be shared year-round. it's probably my fave set i made all year and everyone seemed to like it too!
jimin's bday set // this was originally just going to include songs from FACE, but i decided it didn't celebrate jimin's work as a whole if i didn't include all his solo songs/endeavors so it turned into a big monster. i like how it came out though!
standing next to you mv // this year i was introduced to HD master files, so instead of rushing to download a new mv from youtube and giffing it fast, i'd wait for a higher quality rip from apple music to show up online. the difference is quite astounding. i made gifs with master files for all three of jk's music videos this year (seven, 3D), but i like how this one turned out the best.
vmin comp // just felt like giffing my two favorite people before they left and needed to channel my sad emotions into something before seeing them seperate for so long. i included moments i've giffed before and ones i've never had the chance to gif. i could have made this post so much longer but forced myself to stop lol. i like the pink and blue colors in it a lot <3 i miss them so much
thank for all your support on my work this year! i have lots of (old) new stuff in my drafts to share in the new year so please keep your love coming x
i'm going to tag @userjiminie @userjungkook97 @btsiu and @cordiallyfuturedwight to do this if they'd like to!

FEATURE: Blessing the timeline: Poetry in online spaces small and wide
It has been nearly half a decade since our workdays as students, teachers, and staff were pushed into a migration to online platforms, due to the uncertainties of circumstances beyond our control: a global pandemic, harsh heat indices, and inclement weather, to name a few. We reflexively seek information and guidance on the Internet from a place of necessity. While the World Wide Web is an incredibly efficient place for conducting business and studies, it is rarely an equal substitute for human-to-human interaction.
Rarely. It can be, if we know where to look.
One of poetry’s many beauties is that as it is a personal expression, not much is required for it to be poetry—it just has to be human. Below is a list of poetry sites and creators pulled from various platforms, some less obvious than others, from the writer’s little corner of the Internet. All poems mentioned strive to align with the theme of finding hope and humanity amidst solitude, loneliness, and unexpected change. Keep your eyes peeled for places mentioned where you may submit your own works as well!
Note: Due to the wide variety of poets and poems who have published or submitted in any of the platforms on this list, please keep in mind that mature themes will be featured or even central to some works. The specific examples of poetry on this list have been curated by the writer to be as safe and non-triggering as possible.
For Your Perusal (Familiar Favorites)
• Spotify
Aside from songs and podcasts, poems spoken and/or set to music are widely available on Spotify. Recordings of legendary poets reading their works and current artists covering these are beautiful ways to keep old poetry alive, especially through a medium different from print. Likewise, spoken poetry is an emerging medium perfect for writers, speakers, and musicians alike.
To start our list off on a personal note, below is a playlist of the writer’s favorites.
Please note that these poems cover themes such as injury, grief, and death.
But, as it also is in our lives, hope gets the last word.
Here are two poems to sample the playlist:
You Darkness, That I Come From
You darkness, that I come from,
I love you more than all the fires
that fence in the world,
for the fire makes
a circle of light for everyone,
and then no one outside learns of you.
But the darkness pulls in everything:
shapes and fires, animals and myself,
how easily it gathers them! —
powers and people —
and it is possible a great energy
is moving near me.
I have faith in nights.
-written by Rainer Maria Rilke, trans. by Robert Bly, performed by Meryl Streep, and set to music by Robert Benford Lepley
[i carry your heart with me(i carry it in]
i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear;and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you
here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart
i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)
-written and performed by E.E. Cummings
• YouTube
Button Poetry is a channel on YouTube, the Internet’s largest video-sharing platform, that features performance poetry, which is spoken poetry delivered in front of an audience. Poets can read directly from their own poems in print (or from memory), using variations in diction and body language to heighten the impact of their words.
Andrea Gibson is a poet and activist whose poems frequently touch on the experiences of the LGBTQ+ community. Their poem “Orbit”, written below, details a lifetime of infinite space, spirit, and love.
You were born 6 years before I was.
In those 6 years, and a trillion years before that,
I was floating up in space
all light and bliss and orbit,
no grief or hurt or bitterness, all poetry
and no language, not a single need
for words like forgiveness.
I was up there making snow angels
in the star dust
when i glanced down and saw you on a playground
shy as a comet, chewing on your hair.
I turned to the Milky Way and said
I found her. Get me down there.
The first time we were face to face
it was a Sunday in New Orleans.
Holy as you are, i’m pretty certain
you were high as a kite. And i wanted to be the key
tied the end of that string catching all of your electricity.
When I finally got the nerve to kiss you
we were in the Colorado desert
beneath the same night sky
you would point to the months later and say, Baby,
we could make any of those specks of light
the Big Dipper if we drew the lines right.
I suppose it was all that possibility
that made us both so bad at actually knowing
where to draw the line.
Me, running down the street chasing your taxi,
crying at the top of my lungs. I mean
the absolute rooftop of my skyscraper lungs.
You deboarding the airplane
with your suitcase still on it,
racing back home to find my heart
a burning piano.
We were never easy
We never slept like rocks
without worrying we would wake like volcanos?
We could be so explosive
I started thinking a good day is a slow burn.
But then we would start talking about the ocean
I remember how the salt curled your hair,
or how you blushed in the kitchen
when the radio show
on the stereo started making you cry.
I got so desperate to learn
how people reach each other
I couldn't stop running around
cursing our city for the day it started burying
the telephone wires underground.
For that crushing first fight
when we spent all night trying to gather the wine
back into the grape
For every promise we broke
like bread in hopes of feeding ourselves better
The last time I watched you paint your toenails in my bed
I remember the first time I heard someone say half the stars we see in the sky are already dead
Maybe that's what happened
maybe we were already gone
Before we ever met
-Andrea Gibson

• TikTok
Performance poetry is also popular on TikTok; however, creators are opting for one-to-two-minute-long videos due to the fast-paced nature of the platform.
The poet Whitney Hanson posts videos of her reading her poems, some of them coming from her books “Home” and “Harmony”—both of which tackle loss, grief, and healing. Listen to her tackle the question of, “If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?” in one of her poems here,
• X (formerly Twitter)
the lickety~split is an account that accepts poems that can fit into a single tweet—that is, currently, nothing more than 280 characters. This practice fits in the genre of micropoetry, which has found a home particularly on X as a response to and embracing of the prevalence of short-form content online. Below is one of their published works, 243 characters long:
LILACLESS
All my friends are sick
or busy or both,
and even the sky
can’t see me today,
pale and sniffling as it is;
I walk alone, jealous of the raindrops
picnicking together on lilac leaves,
their faces shining, though the lilacs
are gone, long gone.
-Aimee Lowenstern (@everyepithet)]
• Instagram
While Instagram is popular for being a visual platform, it also hosts (and is a great domain for) literary journals and individual writers.
Alex Dawson of alexdawcreates takes full advantage of the platform by mixing photography and poetry. Most posts of theirs consist of two slides: a picture (usually of a bird seen in Toronto, Canada, where Alex is based) on one slide, and an observant and heartfelt poem on the other.
Below is an example—you have to visit the link to see the photo, though. :)
Things are often what they're not
A firefly is not a fly, it's a beetle that can't stand the dark. Also, a funny bone isn't a bone, (and it's not really all that funny). A silkworm is not a worm, it's a caterpillar whose cocoon costs a fortune. And a shooting star isn't a star, it's a piece of space dust that we wish on. And that little creature, hovering around the purple blooms, humming quietly to itself, isn't what you think it is, either. And isn't that incredible? And doesn't that make you want to know this world, and maybe even yourself-

Recognized as one of the pioneers in the social media stratosphere, Facebook is home to countless personal pages and professional blogs.
Malamaya by Sydelle Santos is a page run by Sydelle, a writer and physics student from UP Baguio, for her poems, musings, and digital art. Below is a poem about the randomness of connection, and how mathematics is simply another form of love.
i wrote a code. to predict the probabilities of two people growing up in the same town meeting each other without them knowing.
cuenca’s total land area is 58.18 square kilometers. there are thirty-six thousand people living in this town in the year 2020. population density is 623. the total number of barangays—twenty-one.
the distance between our homes is 1.3 kilometers. we both did not live in cuenca when we were in high school. you were born in 18th of june, year 2002. i was born 11 months early. year 2001, 26th of july.
there are probabilities that we met on a local weekday. a local weekend. in the two years where we commute and ride the same route from cuenca to lipa to go to school. on special ocassions. town fiesta. unexpected 7-eleven encounters.
three hunded sixty-five and one-fourth days per year. eighteen years of walking the same streets.
apparently, if the code that i wrote is correct, because (sic) i’m a frustrated physics student, we had forty-nine estimated encounters. without us knowing.

Letterboxd is a website where users may log movies they've watched in a diary, along with a rating and a review. While popular reviews on Letterboxd vary from punchy one-liners to multi-paragraph essays, one user, JBird, writes theirs as limericks. Limericks are oftentimes humorous and consist of just five lines that follow an AABBA rhyming scheme. Here is an example:
Daisy and Glen face their fear,
When a tornado is near.
Instead of hide,
They’ll go for a ride,
Whether the weather’s severe.

There is a book called “Elemental Haiku” published by poet Mary Soon Lee in 2019, in which all 118 chemical elements have a haiku (a three-liner poem, the lines consisting of 5, 7, and 5 syllables respectively) written about them. These poems have been laid out on a digital Periodic Table on Science.org, where viewers can hover over an element and read the haiku assigned to it. Talk about a creative way to familiarize yourself with seaborgium!
Seaborgium

While you consider signing up for the newsletter, here is a sample poem:
WAITING
My daughter is with me in the car.
She does not wait for anything.
She sleeps.
Sleeping may be waiting to wake up.
But I do not think it is.
I think it is something else entirely.
The clouds fill the plate glass window
of the store my wife has gone into.
There they share the sky
with teakwood bowls and brass candlesticks,
with rattan chairs and dried flowers
that look like tennis balls
sliced in half and painted impossible green,
with soapstone lion paperweights and
vases of colorless colors and shapeless shapes.
How serene they are as they float
in their twin heavens, in front of and above me,
these ghosts of the ships that we have
waited for all our lives but have never come in,
these blissful hosts for whom waiting
is the end-in-itself, O blessed end without end.
-J.R. Solonche
• Blogspot
Before Ang Aninag Online was on Tumblr, it was on Blogspot! Just like how it is on Tumblr now, from 2011-2021, the Blogspot hosted hundreds of articles and literary posts a year written by the students of UP Integrated School (UPIS)—MC members, primarily, and students who submitted for the yearly project MC Pakisabi. During MC Pakisabi, literary submissions are open to all UPIS students for a certain period of time. Writers who submit, just like MC members, choose a pen name to maintain anonymity for their lit. These submissions are edited by the MC and returned to the writers with feedback for revisions, if needed. This gives UPIS a peek behind the curtain of MC work and the Social Sciences and Humanities track.
Here is an example of an MC Pakisabi submission in 2019—a poem, of course, entitled “Seasons” by “Hagulgol”. It speaks of the constant cycles on our Earth, and of the ones inside us.
For Your Practice
Continuing the mood from the submission-based Blogspot entry, it's time for you to try writing some of your own poems! Literary magazines all over the world, as well as some sites listed in “For Your Perusal”, are constantly on the lookout for poems that will fit their vision and themes.
• Eunoia Review
The Eunoia Review publishes poetry and short stories from submissions to their website four times a day. You may submit up to ten poems in a single attachment through e-mail! Check out their full guidelines here, and read a sample poem below:
Blooming Lessons
To be the California poppy,
tangerine hair on a lush hill
in summertime. A thousand
tiny suns once a single seed,
all that light free to sway in
the wind. What bliss to bloom
for the summer. What would
a body grown in endless
summer know about change?
More than anyone would think.
-Luna Moore Latorre
• MC Pakisabi
As mentioned earlier, MC Pakisabi is a yearly project by the UPIS Media Center that accepts literary submissions from all students. Media Center 2025 will be launching it soon this semester; stay posted on our social media for announcements!
The next time you find yourself at home, perhaps with a heavy heart, consider pulling up a poem (or a pen) to keep you company.
P.S.
The writer is always looking for another poem to read. Should you want to share anything, please feel free to send her a recommendation at [email protected]!

Slow-Down Announcement
Hey everyone! Thank you so much for your patience during my break, my move, and through the holidays. It means a lot that you’d all be so generous as to keep paying me while you wait. In general, your continued support is incredibly important to me. And as much as I appreciate it, I will have to ask you for a bit more patience.
Ko-Fi was an experiment I started to see if it was practical for me. I was excited about the response my AUgust 2022 prompts had gotten, and I wanted to see how my audience would respond to access to more of my writing and more of my process. I was also curious to see if I could use Ko-Fi to grow my audience, or supplement my writing career. Building a brand online is difficult, but I couldn’t let an opportunity like this slip by me.
After about 15 months, I can say I’ve had a lot of fun on Ko-Fi. I love Magnet Mondays, I like sharing what happens behind-the-scenes, and giving you all sneak peaks of what’s to come. Like I said, I’m forever grateful you thought my art to be worth paying monthly for in the first place, it’s not something I ever dreamed people would do for me. Unfortunately, posting on Ko-Fi as regularly as I wanted has become impractical for my schedule and mental health.
Keeping up with the rate of posting I promised—weekly, biweekly, and monthly, over my various categories—isn’t sustainable in my current environment. If I had the opportunity to do nothing but write for 8-hours a day, 5-days a week, it would be easy! I would have plenty of time to share my writing with you, continue my personal projects, and maintain a healthy work-life balance. Sadly, my writing schedule is not so generous. My full-time office job cuts into my creative time a lot, and stacking the self-imposed obligations of my Ko-Fi schedule on top of that means that I’m “at work” a lot more than I otherwise would be.
Long story short, I’m getting fatigued trying to keep pace with Ko-Fi updates. I’m going to be slowing down my activity here, and prioritize what I can do without burning myself out. I have a flexible plan that I’ve been developing, so you know where you can find me outside of Ko-Fi if you’d still like to follow my work elsewhere.
Keep Reading below here or on Ko-Fi
First, Magnet Mondays are sticking around, but this time for free. Polls are easier than counting comments, so I’ll be hosting the weekly vote and the poems on my ink-flavored Tumblr account. I really don’t want to give up doing Magnet Mondays, since it was a lot of fun for me (and for you all too, I hope). The first poll will go up this Sunday (January 7th) and the first poem will go up the next Monday (January 15th), so I hope I’ll see you all on Tumblr! I’ll still post the final poems here on Ko-Fi for organization's sake.
Second, one of my goals for 2024 is to be more active on my new Neocities website. The freedom of having my own writing website where I can post whatever I want without the need to be overly professional like a portfolio, and no risk of getting my content reported like on social media, means that I can share a lot more of what I write. Please do check it out, and feel free to sign the guestbook while you’re there!
More generally, I want to migrate some of the Typewriter-tier behind-the-scenes posts to Tumblr and Neocities, so more people can see what goes on under the hood when I write. I don’t have imminent plans to share the exclusive content on Saturdays anywhere else—save for things like AUgust, which are already all free—but I won’t write it off.
Finally, as for the fate of this Ko-Fi account, I’ll be reworking the tiers a bit. Magnet Mondays will be free, so it can’t be a perk, and my plan is to post behind-the-scenes or exclusives sporadically, whenever I feel like I have something to share. I’ll keep the BTS to Wednesdays and the exclusives to Saturdays, but that will be the only consistency in scheduling. Nothing from the Manuscript tier needs to change, since I don’t plan on halting commissions.
Thank you all for being so understanding, and for being so generous this past year and a bit. I’m happy I even had the opportunity to try this out, and it would have been over before it started if I didn’t have people like you.

Do you ever write poems for your darling? I think it'd be a good way to express your feelings.
sometimes i write poems for class. it's a way for me to share all the nice things about darling with my classmates. i notice that people don't like me, and my being around darling lowers their status, so i have to put in work into making sure they aren't bullied as much as i am... sharing their best traits in the form of poetry really does help bring their status up a bit, i've noticed. but sometimes people think my poetry is "too weird" or "creepy" too... i know i tend to repeat myself over and over again if i'm writing down my emotions, but i can't help it! just saying "i love you" once, for example, isn't anywhere near enough! but others just don't understand.
i might be able to share some poetry here for those who want to see it, i guess. i've seen other yanderes on tumblr do that, even if they don't tag it as poetry. but i can't share any of the ones where i go too into depth about darling, since i still don't want to reveal too much information about my love online. even if some of you know us in real life, i'm not going to risk it.

Today (12/16/23) is the 10th anniversary of one of my favorite comedy specials—
what.
Yes, it's been a whole decade since Bo Burnham graced the world with his YouTube special (and now major comics are following his model lol). While people think of what. as a Netflix special, Bo's plan was to distribute it freely via the internet on 12/17/13 (and he took a pay cut to make it happen!).
Here are some other fun facts about Bo's second comedy special:
1. The trailer is filmed in the Ruhm, Bo's guesthouse and studio that makes an appearance again in Make Happy and in a little special called INSIDE 😉
youtube
2. This comedy special was Bo's first professional collaboration with Chris Storer (creator of The Bear) after they met on Adventures in the Sin Bin and it marks Bo's first time directing. They would go on to co-direct Make Happy together and Bo's obviously directed MANY items since, including his incredible story about a teenage girl called Eighth Grade!
3. Bo begins the special wearing three pairs of pants—two red ones and one black pair—a white tee, a dark gray hoodie, confetti in one pocket, a pack of playing cards in his OTHER pocket, and his mouth is full of water. Damn, that's a lot of stuff! 🤯
4. But he doesn't have the water IN his mouth for the stool scene! That was spliced together with the live performance footage (and pretty seamlessly, clearly, since folks asked him about it online).
5. The song Repeat Stuff has a brilliant music video that accompanies it. And the girl that Bo murders at the end is none other than the Vice President's stepdaughter! That's right, Ella Emhoff is Kamala Harris's daughter through marriage, and she is a famous model and artist.
6. Speaking of that music video, the exterior of the house Bo breaks into at the beginning is Bo and Lorene's own home at the time. And that house was used in The Nightmare Before Elm Street franchise (a fact the realtors emphasized when selling the place in 2021—I would have focused on Bo's studio personally haha).
7. The music video also has a cameo from one of Bo's friends, Paul Scheer, as the manager! I actually met Paul at a Human Giant event back in the day, and he was very nice (along with Aziz Ansari and Rob Huebel).
8. While Bo released his special entirely for free, he did have two other items that were for sale at the time—the what. CD (recorded in Madison, WI, thus he says "Get on my level, Madison" in Sad) and his book of poems Egghead. I own the poetry book, obviously, but I cannot find the CD for sale anywhere.
If you or someone you know is willing to sell their copy, PLEASE DM me! It's the only item he put out that I don't own in some capacity—and I would love to complete the collection! 🥰
9. Egghead is amazing in both its print and audiobook versions. In fact, the latter is like a whole separate comedy special and well worth the price to hear Bo reading so enthusiastically and with different hilarious voices. Highly recommended...and I have a kid-friendly list of poems here if you're interested.
10. Finally, what. features two of my favorite subversive bits: Andy the Frog and the Fishing song.
I was thinking a fun video idea would be to create a Bo Burnham "Kids Show" with all of his darkest routines that seem like they came out of a demented Sesame Street (so like Wonder Showzen haha).
Here's the potential order:
-Disney Lessons (Words Words Words)
-what. Intro (starting with "melted into childlike wonder" to Lizard)
-How to Make the Perfect PB Sandwich
-A Slow Joke
-Andy the Frog
-The Squares poem
-Fishing in the Park
-How the World Works (can include Outtakes Bo and Socko as well)
-YouTuber Thank You
Anyway, I just think that would be hysterical if any editor wants to take a crack at it. Please give me credit tho! ✌🏼🐔

Oh 2024
This was another mixed year for me.
I worked as a tutor during the 23-24 school year and going back to work with them next week. I wasn't planning to go back since there were a lot of things I didn't like about the job. But since I was unable to find another job before I received the return job offer, I decided to go back.
Although it sounds like I never go anywhere, I did go to some events this year. I went to two concerts this year (Jamila Woods and Emily King). I went to the National Book Festival and had my copy of The Ravenous Fate signed by Hayley Dennings (but forgot to ask for a photo). And I visited my best in person friend in Atlanta again this past summer (hoping to visit them again sometime in the summer).
Now, I'm going to talk about the one thing I was disappointed about this year and the one thing I am most proud about.
TW: mention of weight gain, fat shaming, dieting
Thing I'm Most Disappointed About:
From this past summer to now, I have gained some weight. I'm not exactly sure how much since I don't have a working scale at my house. But it's a noticeable gain. My stomach/belly has gotten bigger to the point where I needed to buy some new jeans to wear to work next week. I went from wearing a size 18W/20 to now wearing a size 22.
I know there's nothing wrong with being fat/gaining weight and that I should stop fat shaming myself. But it's not easy, especially when I live with my mom and my sister who are (very) critical of their own bodies and sometimes tease me about mines (especially my stomach/belly which I have the harshest feelings about).
So in the new year, I plan to both a) improve my diet a little by eating more salads and fruits and walking around more outside. Hopefully by working again, I will get more movement during the day. And b) change the negative view/opinions I have about my body. I am still beautiful even if I have gained weight. I am beautiful.
Thing I'm Most Proud About:
Last year, I began posting my first fanfic on AO3. This year I not only completed my first multi chapter fic, I post three one-shot fics. I can't freaking believe that! 20 something LeeAnn would have never thought I would post any fics online for the world to read. But now I have gained the confidence to share my writings along with my other creative projects (drawings, poems, personal essays).
In the new year, I hope to finish brainstorming this Titan Luz au fic I still plan to (finish) writing and begin posting online one day. Additionally, I hope to finish writing one of my original novels so I can become a published author.
My main goal for 2025 is to continue to grow as a person. I know it doesn't feel like it most days, but I have grown this year. I am becoming a little more independent. But I am not at the level I want to be yet.
Here's to 2025!

Your Frequent best cafe taupo Visit Comes Up With the Best Settings
As hubs for locals and visitors alike, restaurants and cafés are essential to the vibrant culture of the city. Coffee shops are adaptable spaces that accommodate a variety of social and cultural events, such as first dates and business meetings.
You may go on an unforeseen adventure when you leave the home for the evening. You are not restricted by appointments or forced to make small conversation; you may go anywhere and whenever you like. Here are some useful pointers to make sure you enjoy yourself at the best cafe taupo.
Playing board games with people of different ages and backgrounds is a great experience
Board games are becoming more and more popular, which is great to see since they're a great way to spend time with friends and family. The region offers a variety of entertainment opportunities, making it perfect for group activities. You may presume that frequent customers at your prefered coffee shop won't be offended if you bring board games and stay late. We are happy to let you know that even if you are not a regular client, you are still able to use our services. Making intelligent selections from the cafe menu may have a big effect.
Fans may watch their favourite sports anytime they want thanks to live online broadcasts
Because Indian sports fans are as committed to their teams and clubs as supporters elsewhere, public screenings of sports films are usually packed. Both the next cricket match between India and Pakistan and the forthcoming football match between Brazil and Germany are anticipated to be quite exciting. Taking your pals to a live sports event is a great way to let your competitive side come out.
The fact that people may display their abilities and amuse an audience by hosting events like stand-up comedy performances and open-mic nights is absolutely fantastic.
Attending a clown show may generate a lot of laughs
If the restaurant feels that your conduct is disturbing, they may ask you to leave. You may still have a fantastic time even if you lack the courage to do spontaneous stand-up comedy in public settings like coffee shops or open mic evenings. These activities are perfect for everyone, regardless of personality type, whether shy or outgoing, or if they like to dine alone or with others.
When you hear someone else read aloud a poem, it may be a very expressive experience to interact with its ideas and feelings. A deeper emotional connection to the narrative may be felt by the reader or listener when they give the written or spoken word their whole attention. An effective delivery and tone may make a poetry reading one that people will remember for a long time. In this case, picking the right cafe in taupo is crucial.
Friday night poetry readings aren't for everyone, but for those with a more sophisticated taste, they may be a fun event. For young, aspiring poets, organising poetry readings and inviting well-known poets to present their work may be a fantastic way to further their education. By using this tactic, people may increase their chances of having a significant influence, learning new things, and developing deep connections with others who share their interests. Companies like this kind of advertising because it increases sales in an efficient manner without overwhelming or coercing customers.
Conclusion
Even in the absence of challenges, interacting with other authors is a beneficial habit. It ensures that you keep your creative drive alive by encouraging motivation and inspiration. Spending time with others who share your hobbies is typically advised, regardless of whether you have this illness or not. Seeing authors from many ethnic origins work together is very motivating. Copywriters, journalists, advertising experts, and content writers are all part of this group. When a group of individuals gather together to brainstorm, relay writing is a fun exercise that they may do.
Author Bio: David is a professional writer working on the cafe menu and so you will be getting all the information matters.

The Type of Art You Support
I am an artist influenced by many things. Let's just say 'life' in general. So the Visual Art you are Supporting is a result of those inspirations. I have other artistic gifts that will be showcased here but for now we will focus on the Visual Art.
My STYLE is somewhere's between comicbook, manhua, & semi real. It can be suggestive but my pieces here are always SFW.
Each Illustration has a story that goes with it...so hopefully you'll get to know the story as you view, recieve, print, or hang each piece. I have a minor in creative writing so there's poems, scripts, and such with each uploaded piece.
Don't let AI fool you, Actual Illustration takes a long time to produce, hence why I'm even setting up this Patreon.
Each MAJOR piece (like the one above) takes about 24-50 hours to complete. Which I can do in a week if I do not have other obligations. So the goal of this Patreon is to do art WEEK IN/ WEEK OUT so you get a full plate of art every month.
--------------During Launch--------------------
Round One: FIRST 108 PATRONs get BOTH or your choice of one of these!
Art Card Series.
Primo: I'm designing a board game. Well it's already designed, I'm just working out the kinks and visuals in order to put it into full production. Sooo, I'm releasing artcards of the play-pieces that will ONLY be available here.
Segundo: I figured some ARMYs would appreciate my Planetary (134340) Series in artcard form rather than the GIANT %(&! 24x24 pieces going up in Esty. Sooo, they are now a part of ROUND 1 for free Launch materials.
I ship these out once you become a patron. Well I sign them and number them first, then pop them in the mail!
Round Two: The FIRST 224 PATRONS receive a LOTUS ENAMEL PIN
So Studio.Nini's emblem is a cross inside of a lotus. Ask me what it means later cuz there's a long drawn out story and it involves Martial Arts. Anywho, getting Lotus Pins made...in Studio.Nini's colour palette and gold...cuz i like gold.
When the second round begins...you new folk AAAAAANNNNND the First Round folk get Pins shipped out to you, if you're still an active patron.
Round Three: The FIRST 613 PATRONS receive a sticker variety pack (3ea)...because I like stickers, and you better like them too, HA. (Ok if you haven't figured it out by now...this space is lighthearted. I'm a pro at what I do...but I enjoy having fun with friends...........and you better enjoy it also or you're going to have an AWFUL time here, HA!)
When the third round begins, OG peeps get the Launch freebies from before AND these sticker packs.
....and as a special incentive....If you pledged IMMORTAL throughout the run of all rounds....you can ask me for a commission...............and it's yours. No Holds Barred.
INTERACTIVITY
Voting on which Lady Dragon piece I do next is where our online interaction begins. I'll be posting three (3) to choose from and you can vote on which gets done next. Hopefully we'll have fun with that process since I will also be streaming the PAINTING PROCESS with you.
https://c10.patreonusercontent.com/4/patreon-media/p/post/74302843/e922453260c7424d9ddc21e18b2772c1/eyJ3Ijo4MjB9/1.png?token-time=1695772800&token-hash=5qFFjVatRgxERL4z3kEnc7V9kZX6Ezx9ft6KzFU7NjM%3D
The MINOR pieces appearing on this site take anywhere from 4-12 hours. Those are like the character pieces above or landscapes, cityscapes...conceptual pieces.
FREEBIES
Milestone and monthly giveaways like Stickers, pins, journals, and of course...
ARTCARDS:
Well I only do one type of fan art, really. Bangtan Sonyeondan art. And boy do I have alot of it done. So for those who are ARMY you get extra art love. These artcard freebies are only in physical form...so you'll get artcards (4x6 / 6x9) in the mail if you want those freebies each month.

HI HELLO SO GLAD YOU ASKED
Let's talk Courting! (Long Distance Edition!)
The main aspects of courting
Gifts
This one is super easy to do over long distance! Amazon has a wishlist feature that allows you to make a list and whoever you share it with can buy off of it! If you don't like supporting Amazon, you can make a google doc wishlist and add links to it when you see something you like online! Your mate wants to be the one to choose the gift? Easy peesy. Here's a guide on how to send something larger than a letter in the mail: Step 1: Choose gift! Step 2: Go to the post office to pick up a box big enough for the gift. Step 3: Package gift! (Add a letter, some teabags, some candy, a poem, maybe some art if you're artistically inclined). Make sure the address you're sending it to is correct! Step 4: Go to the post office to mail your package. They will weigh the package and give you the price based on the weight. If it's light, prepare for $5-$10. If it's heavy, it could go anywhere up to $60+, so be prepared to spend a lot of shipping if its VERY heavy.
Food
This one's a bit tougher to do long distance, but not impossible! You can deliver food to your mate's house through a food delivery app (UberEats, Doordash, Postmates) OR you can even delivery groceries to them through Walmart's (or your chosen grocery store) website/app. If that doesn't sound good, you can always order them non perishables online to send to their house (even in bulk)! Jerky, Japanese snacks, their favorite chips or sodas (wait to open any soda you get in the mail LOL). You can even send them food in the above package, but check you post office's laws/rules regarding food you can send in the mail and NEVER send perishable foods like bread, meat, cheese, etc. Stick with snacks! You can also send recipes in the mail for your mate to try out if they cook at home! Jewelry
Yup, this one is separate from gifts! Jewelry itself can be very personal/personalized to suit you and your mate.
Here are my recommendations: Necklaces! Similar to a collar, a necklace can be ornate or a more practical simple chain or charm. This is good for couple's who want that added "ownership" in their relationship/dynamic, and it has an added bonus of sitting over the scent glands on your neck!
Bracelets! Decidedly more casual, but still works with that "ownership" angle. You can go with a dainty or sturdy chain, maybe even charms, jewels, or a leather cuff is very popular!
Earrings! Very front and center- my recommendation is gold or silver hoops! Something for nice occasions or even just every day wear (just don't sleep in them)! Earrings are good for being very obvious if you want everyone to see your claim.
Nest/Den Materials
That's right- the big one! Here are some materials to give your mate for their nest/den if they have one! Clothes: You can send your mate your clothes (scented or otherwise!) for their nest/den, or you can order some online that they might like! Hoodies and scarves are my main recommendation since they carry so much scent on them. Blankets: Again, you can send your mate some of your blankets or order some offline! Great for nesting with. Stuffed animals: The same as above! If your mate has a stuffed animal they've been eyeing for awhile, now's your chance! This is great for nests AND dens! Cologne/Perfume: Pick out a cologne/perfume that smells like you and send it your mate's way! A great way for you mate to have your scent on hand for their nest, den, or even just their own clothes!
Letters
This is my own bias, since I've been sending and receiving letters for years, haha! But letters are a great (and inexpensive) way to court your mate!
Since I know sending letters has fallen out of style, here's what you should put on your envelope once you're ready to send:
You can buy stamps from your post office or online (there's more styles available online)! If you order your stamps online, make sure it's from your post office's website/app, as those are the official stamps you can use.
You can (and should) add extra stamps if your letter seems particularly bulky! If you're not sure, add an extra one just in case. If you don't have enough stamps on your letter, it will just be sent back to you.
What to put in your letter:
Letter
Candy
Tea bag/hot cocoa packet
Poem(s)
Drawings
Check what your post office allows to be sent in the mail and DO NOT send unidentified powder. I'm sorry if you have a fancy jarred hot cocoa you want your mate to try, but please don't send it in a plastic bag, haha!
And that's that! If I remember anything else, I'll add on, but for now this is all I can think of!
Happy Courting! ૮ ・ ﻌ・ა
does anyone have any cool experiences with courting or being courted? I'm quite traditional when it comes to this and I'm looking for inspiration especially something you can do online for long distance hehe

hello! do you have any favorite poems about haunted houses?
i do!! here are a few i'm fond of:
how to draw a circle by joan tierney
[...] You've been building this house since you were born, just like your father. Just like your father, you will not live to see it finished. The house has been a nursery. The house has been a burial site. The house is swallowing bodies before the blood has dried. [...]
why are you haunted? a survey also by joan tierney
[ ...] This haunting is architectural. It is not about you. It is about where you are. There are bones in the foundation. This house is a graveyard. This house is a corpse. You are inside the corpse. That makes you the maggot. [...]
ash by tracy k smith
Strange house we must keep and fill. House that eats and pleads and kills. House on legs. House on fire. House infested With desire. Haunted house. Lonely house. House of trick and suck and shrug. Give-it-to-me house. I-need-you-baby house. House whose rooms are pooled with blood. [...]
the house by the railroad by emily berry (copying the whole poem here because i can't find it online anywhere & it's one of my favorites!)
This place? This place happens to be my only world. — Norman Bates, Psycho The house was an old ship moving under me. It sighed and sighed. Dear House, I aid, whoever lives here has neglected your hopes. The house looked down with its big round eye and I stared back, my face was pale as fire. I was a lantern, rising. I was the one right thing. This is her room, the house sighed. It was lonely. In a museum of mirrors and pedestals I walked and felt the decadent shape of an absent woman. She was so accounted for, and perfumed. Her Heavy womanliness was like a thump on the back of the neck. The house was full of wants and no one had come. I'd opened my arms and it leaned to me like a ghost that was tired of haunting. The house rocked itself and mourned. I laid my hand on the door. But it was too wicked. It hung my reflection on the wall. The house wanted me stripped, painted gold and put on a pedestal. It wanted my delicate hands. I climbed the stairs with my light. I rose the way a wave does, all gathered and graceful. A dirty symphony played in the attic. The house was full of tricks. House, where is she? I demanded, but the house had gone quiet. I ran downstairs. I began to know how it feels when something terrible happens. My kindness had made the house shiver. I began to fall. The only world was wrong. I was the highest wave now, I had taken everything into me and risen up and up. I went through the rooms in the dark. I thought I had found er. The moon lit her neat grey hair and I broke. Mother?
if i should come upon your house lonely in the west texas desert by natalie diaz
[...]
If you say to me, This is not your new house but I am your new home,
I will enter the door of your throat, hang my last lariat in the hallway,
build my altar of best books on your bedside table, turn the lamp on and off, on and off, on and off.
I will lie down in you. Eat my meals at the red table of your heart.
Each steaming bowl will be, Just right. I will eat it all up,
break all your chairs to pieces. If I try running off into the deep-purpling scrub brush,
you will remind me, There is nowhere to go if you are already here [...]
healers by sophie collins (not a house, technically, but similar vibes. this poem kills me)
I encountered a scaffold outside the Holy Trinity Church in Vladimir, Russia. At first I didn’t notice her slumped against the side of the church — she was pretty small for a scaffold, pretty un- assuming. Her safety mesh was torn in places and sun-bleached all over and threatened to dislodge due to a forceful wind that was typical of the season. She was shaking. She was fundamentally insecure. She told me that good foundations are essential and that the men who had put her together hadn’t taken advantage of the right opportunities. Now, each day, someone came by called her “unsafe” and also “a liability” then left, failing to initiate the dismantling process that yes would have been painful and slow, but kinder. [...]

For the AO3 wrapped meme! :)
3. What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)? 12. How many WIP’s do you have in your docs for next year? 20. Which work of yours have you reread the most?
Oh! Tbh I reblogged this so as to not lose it and come back to it when I'd have more stuff posted (which is why it's got the fract resources tag instead of the featured tag) and was kinda expecting nobody to notice lol. The ask is welcomed tho <3
(Note: This got a lot longer than I meant it to be. Whoops)
3: Most of my works are currently unpublished - in the sense that I've been ambitious right off the bat, and have been working on the same WIP for roughly 7 years now. I like 'Blood Bank' (which is posted on AO3 and is an unrequited love AiShin Vampire AU I wrote in a rush for AiShin week this year - I'll need to copyedit it properly sometime lol), but otherwise the work I'm working on (currently nicknamed 'You Only Die Twice', but I'll likely change that name because it doesn't make as much sense now as it did when I named it that) is the one I'm the proudest of.
The whole thing started out as one big story called 'Isolated', but then I learned to plot about 2 years ago or smth and realized I was trying to write at least 6 different novel-length stories within one fic... So I've untangled them and now I'm working on them one at a time lmfao (at least now I know why I was struggling to write that massive thing so much ahahah, what a mess. At any rate, I've decided to only publish each of them once they are finished, so while the old Isolated from high school is still online I haven't posted anything of this fic series since).
I'm very proud of my characters (my main character in particular. She's the first OC I managed to develop correctly and actually like. That's a whole story though so not going into it here), but even more so of the structure I'm able to give the whole thing - it feels so good to actually know what I'm doing and have so many elements of the story just click into place like well-oiled cogs.
Also the story involves the SRDI so I get to write sci-fi-ish mad-scientist-sounding stuff hehehe.
---
12: So, I have YODT, as mentioned above. I also have a fic I wrote the first chapter of during AiShin week called 'Feed Me Love' to finish (it's a sort of mirror version of a friend's fic). And I have my other long project, an either novel or novella-long demon-summoning AU fic called 'The Summoner' (also AiShin) that is in the works, but I've set as a rule for myself to only work on it during periods during which I need space from YODT (which I currently don't, because I'm barely working on the latter, and this is the fault of my master's schedule because I only have very few hours of class a week and thus completely lost the habit I had of writing at the same hour every day after class that allowed me to make tons of progress last year. I can currently barely step out of my house and my sleep schedule is worse than it has ever been, including during periods when I was a lot more depressed than this).
I have a song I started revolving around Momo that's been going very well but that I haven't taken the time to work on since this summer, and a couple of poems that I'm waiting to be fully confident of before I post them anywhere that I might wrap up sometime.
I also intend to rewrite and finish the translation of one French fic I had started in high school sometime. Knowing me I'll likely start working on it again at the drop of a hat one of these days.
---
20: YODT, probably, since I fix plot-consistency issues as I go. Other than that, likely a poem of mine somewhere wins that one.

Thanks for tagging me @michiganstray 😘🐺
🎶 Music 🎶
Like my girl Michiganstray I'll also link my Spotify here. However the types of music I like listening to are right here: Instrumental, Electropop, Dark, Indie Pop, Relaxing, Alternative Pop, Dance, Soundtrack, Pop, Hip Hop, Bubblegum Pop, Angry, Chill, Latin, EMD, Emotional, Alt Z, Dark R&B, Indie Game Soundtrack, Synth, Disco, Trance, Childhood music and gosh a lot more. <---stole this from another post of mine and added some stuff but this is pretty much what I listen to on a daily.
🧠🏋🏼Lifestyle🏋🏼🧠
I am going based on what the word Lifestyle means. I'm an omnivore. Physically I don't move a lot unless it's to make a shake or If I am hungry or going to work. But I started working out recently to help me get out of this depressive state I was in and so I can feel good in my clothes. For mental stimulation I'll talk to my immediate family and I'll try to talk to my friends on discord or on Tumblr (I say try because when I'm depressed I don't have the energy or space to talk to anyone). Sometimes I'll play video games like strategy or puzzle games with my little brother and when his friends call him I'll talk to his friends. Sometimes I'll play a word game called Wordscape or Move the Block game on my phone or I'll read a few poem books. I suppose for the medical awareness part of this is that I read a lot about what certain feelings mean. For instance if I'm having one of those strange days where I'm feeling jealous that one of my friends (online btw, not at home friends I don't have those) are being spoken to by another friend and I make a joke or say something and I get ignored I'll feel like that other friend is trying to steal my friend away from me. I hope that makes sense, however, it just means that I need to spend more time with that particular friend and remember that if they wanted to talk to me they would on their time. Another thing I'll do is watch videos about autism and how other people go through life with autism....you know helpful stuff for me.
✍🏼📝Writing✍🏼📝
Cool beans so...I like writing with detail (<--or try to) as well as with depth. My drive here is to make the character or characters or { Readers / Y/n } more relatable to anyone who reads my work even going as far as watching movies and researching more about a particular character or place. But I also bring in real life experiences into my writing in the form of different things like feelings, situations, relationships, sexuality, and I guess desires into it which I think enriches my writing personally. I try to keep my writing interesting and I love world building. While writing I'll almost like word vomit onto the page until that chapter is written fully before going over it a million times to make sure it makes sense. I also make sure that the grammar and punctuation makes sense too. Music helps a lot when I'm trying to remember the plot or feeling of where a particular chapter is going, like a film in my head. It's unfortunately three of several reasons why it takes me a long time to release a chapter.
🍃🐺Me🐺🍃
I'm an Eastern European, Puerto Rican, and Trinidadian made wild crystal. I don't believe that I've had anyone to look up to growing up. Being a sleeper cell autistic, highly sensitive, and introverted person I've always felt misunderstood and felt that I didn't belong anywhere. In middle or high school I had experienced dysphoria and realized that I'm genderfluid which would explain feeling liberated when I got my first short haircut. Sometimes I have a problem with just being me as I was once a people pleaser and when I find things out about myself I make it my personality but I would like to think that I don't do that anymore. I've been writing fan fiction or well reader inserts since I was in middle school but it was on paper. Finally, my first comfort character is Haruhi from Ouran Highschool Host Club because in my head they/she/he might have been genderfluid and didn't give a shit about how they were perceived and served.
To end this section I am multi talented and I can be a huge nerd depending on the topic.
Tagging: @wandagcre @screechcat @inactivecabbage @gothgleek @thisonewhocanbreathe
Feel free to participate if you'd like but also don't feel pressured to do so. Have a wonderful week everyone!!!☺️😘💚
get to know you? music, lifestyle, writing, etc. just stuff that makes you, you
and maybe tag some people to start a chain? totally optional!
:D sure! thank you for the ask 🫶🏻
music: I love synths like a heathen… I write, primarily, so the lyrics matter a lot to me, but I used to play a couple instruments so I love listening to all parts of a song. hyper pop, pop rock, indie pop, indie rock? I think those are the genre names. my top songs rn are sweet dreams by eurythmics, the other side of paradise by glass animals, and sober by big bang
lifestyle: cathemeral omnivore…? my life currently revolves around school, my job, and other career responsibilities ^^
writing: sporadic (as you can tell rip), I edit in my head and as I write, I’ve always loved analyzing text and really enjoy it!
me: umm I’m having a cold brew with silk oat milk and vanilla torani rn, I have a cat I love her, I get easily overstimulated when it comes to stuff touching me but I’ll watch two youtube videos at the same time, I love food I live to eat, I love the nyt connections

hey friend, 2 questions about your fridge magnet poetry: (1) what fridge magnet set(s) do you use? I want some but got overwhelmed looking at them online. (2) is there anywhere to see a full collection of them other than just looking at the linked tag in your posts? do you think you might ever print them? they have been bringing me joy for several years now.
thank you!!! i am so glad you like the magnet poems, i do too!
question 1: i am currently working with six different magnet sets. three of them are from the official Magnetic Poetry brand (specifically The Poet Kit, the Queer themed kit [not the Pride kit, it's different], and one that isn't sold anymore), one from Game Grumps, one from SBHJ, and one from Dinosaur Comics. I am always on the hunt for more though, since my poetry is limited by what words I physically own, so I have a wish list of other kits so I can expand my magnetic vocabulary. There are people on Etsy who sell fun themed kits and even a few who do custom sets!
question 2: right now the only places to view my magnetic poetry is here on tumblr or on my Ko-Fi. i do want to publish a collection of them eventually, but i'm thinking that won't happen until i hit week 100 of Magnet Monday just so I have enough material to make it worth publishing. plus, there's the issue of having to remake all the poetry to make it all consistent, taking higher quality pictures, whether it would be for all my magnetic poetry or exclusively Magnet Monday, etc. for the foreseeable future, they are exclusive to online!

So! Back in January of this year, I did a little research and was planning on writing up a post on the not-actually-dead-in-the-slightest state of 8tracks, seeing as the site is near and dear to my heart and fandom experience, and I figured it was worth looking into if its resurrection was “real”
I obviously did not get around to writing up my findings but, dear friends and followers, I went to poke at them again today and am thrilled to report that in the couple of months since I started looking into this, I have even better news than I thought I did! In short, not only is the site still decidedly functional, but they have expanded their license library significantly in just the last four months, which I think pretty solidly demonstrates that the team that took over after it “died” is genuinely committed to bringing it back -- and that it’s probably worth migrating back to if you’re looking for a place to host your playlists!
Essentially, in January I went through and listened to ever playlist I had made and took note of 1) how many tracks had been flagged as unavailable due to the site’s licensing situation at the time and 2) the ad frequency, since that could be a turnoff, too. At the time I was fairly encouraged by even by the state of the site then -- only one of my playlists had so many tracks unavailable it had been unlisted, and the rest generally had one or two that had to be skipped over, or even none. The ads weren’t too much of a nuisance either; usually there were only one or two breaks per playlist, depending on the length. However!! My exciting finding today was that, as of right now, none of my 11 playlists have any tracks flagged anymore! Even the one that had been unlisted briefly is back!!
I know the ad situation means 8tracks still doesn’t look quite like it did in its heyday, but I genuinely think the site is still the best one on the internet for making and sharing fandom playlists. The ability to upload any tracks you want to make themed, ordered, easily sharable mixtapes with fun cover art and a functional tagging system to help people find playlists specific to the fandom/character/relationship/etc they want? With a comments section for listeners, and an annotation feature that allows creators to add commentary of their own to each track? There’s nothing else like it on the internet! I’ve been creating playlists there almost as long as I’ve been all that involved in fandom, and thrown in obscure song covers I found on YouTube, old filk tracks you can’t find anywhere else online, recordings of myself reading poems, an audio clip from Cosmos, bits and pieces of TV show soundtracks that never got official album releases -- so much more than is offered on something like Spotify, where even hosted albums can come and go. There’s a reason it was a mainstay of fandom back in the day and honestly? I don’t think we have to be done with it.
After learning all this, I am definitely planning on going back and updating my account with the playlists I’ve made since the site was last accessible, and have plans to work on a few others. I would encourage any other playlist makers to join me in at least cross-posting to 8tracks again, and for other users to look around and see what’s going on there. Playlists are such a wonderful part of fandom, and I want to see more around. We’ve got a neat chance here to help a site that’s perfect for them stay afloat, and I don’t want to miss it.
