Good News

It was a grueling couple of months for Pablo. You made sure to be besides him through all of it and show your support.

Oftentimes you couldn't do much about the pain but after the long physicals you would cuddle him and play with his hair while he sleeps on your chest.

You also tried to talk to him through more depressive steps where he would watch his old videos with teammates and reminisce of the times he played for Barça.

"I want to go back amor ... I'm lost without them ... and so tired" one night he cried after a very intnse physical feeling his whole body trembling from how much pain he had to push through.

"I know, cariño ...and you will just rest now" you reassured him while he kept swiping through pictures enjoying your hands in his hair.

Today was a talk with his doctors who will give him an approximate return date and Pablo was so nervous about it. It was scheduled for ten in the morning but he was already up at five twisting and turning in bed until you woke up as well.

"Pablo, it's not even morning ...go back to bed cariño porfa" I said and he pulled you closer starting to kiss all over your face not letting you sleep.

"I can't sleep amor ... I'm so anxious!!!" he whined and you giggled opening your eyes and pulling him into a kiss.

"Want me to make some breakfast then?" you ask and he holds you tight not letting you move away from him.

"I want you here with me ... just tell me everything will be fine porfa" he said twirling a piece of your hair around his fingers.

"Of course everything will be fine cariño ... you're recovering nicely and I'm sure it won't be too long until you return to the pitch" you said and he smiled praying to God you were right.

"Thank you, princesa ... what would have I done without you?" he said and you giggled kissing him.

"You wouldn't have anyone to torture at five in the morning!" you said and you both laughed while enjoying your time in bed.

When it was time to leave, Pablo's dad noticed his son's nervousness as he opened his car door.

"Did he sleep at all?" he asked you and you smiled saying he was just a bit anxious but will be better after the meet. You sat besides him holding his hand the whole ride.

Once arrived at the camp, there was a crowd all yelling "good luck Gavi!" while he nodded holding your hand tightly and limping inside carefully. There all his friends waited and gave him a reassuring hug before we were invite into the office with the doctors.

"Let's not crowd the room" the doctor said and you offered staying out but Gavi wouldn't let go of your hand now really starting to panic.

"Can she come inside with me, doctor?" he asked adorably and the older man smiled nodding his head and letting us both in followed by his father.

"First, I want you to know these are good news so don't be nervous" he started and Pablo finally relaxed. The doctor explained that his recovery is moving better than expected and that he will be ready for preseason maybe even earlier.

"So I might play Euros too?" Pablo was already ready to jump back in but doctor told him that would be a cardinal mistake.

"Cariño, remember we need to be patient" you say touching his cheek and he nods still a little disappointed but knowing this was all a blessing.

'You just keep listening to your lovely lady, and you will be back in no time kid" his dad says and Pablo kissed the top of your head lovingly while you smiled with red cheeks.

"I couldn't of done it without her ..." he said and everyone smiled at the two of you while you rested your head on his shoulder thanking God for there good news <333

"I want a picture with the big Hollywood thing." Katrine says, smiling while you take some pictures of her.

Mikky, Katrine, and you arrived at Los Angeles a day before the team did. That was for more commodity for you.

"I want another coffee, to be honest." You laugh, the jet lag hitting you harder than expected. "Is it okay to break the diet while on vacation?"

"I break it all the time." Mikky says, you narrow your eyes, looking funny at her. "Oh don't give me that look."

"You have an excuse to break it. You're eating for two." Katrine says, taking her phone from your hands to check the pictures.

You were answering your messages, Pedro updating you about where they're, based on the map from the plane.

"Don't you think, Y/n?" Mikky asks you. You block the phone and pay attention to her. "Did you hear me?" She asks sweetly.

"No, sorry." You say, laughing lightly. "I was texting Pedro." You smile.

"Oh, sweet, young love." Katrine laughed. "I remember those times."

"What I was asking." Mikky says, grabbing your attention again. "Frenkie, Andreas, Katrine, and I are renting a house here, and at the other locations. We wanted to ask if you and Pedro wanted to stay with us."

You wanted to say yes, loving the four of them, always having fun times together. But Pedro already rented a nice space for you to stay together.

"I want to say yes, but Pedro booked a place for us to stay." You say with a pout. "We can meet for some activities."

After the quick coffee break you had, you went to check some stores, passing time till the boys landed.

When the time finally came and the boys landed and were at the hotel, you knew they got there as a cover-up, Xavi, and the team knew they'll stay with their family.

"Hola, guapa." Pedro says, lifting you up while hugging you. "I missed you." He thighs his grip on your body.

"Pepi, we saw each other like twenty-five hours ago." You laugh, kissing his neck. Hands on his hair, messing his hair.

"Jolin, se despidieron ayer y estan acuando como si hubiera pasado una vida" (Fuck, you said goodbye to each other yesterday and now you're acting like it's been a life time.) Pablo laughed, making you and Pedro laugh too. "Ven acá, guapa." (Come here) He says, opening his arms for you to hug him.

You hug him, not long after Ferran was saying hi to you. "Es que te tenemos que hablar en inglés? Joder que yo soy pésimo." (Do we have to speak with you in english? Fuck, I suck at that.)

"No, yo puedo hablar español." (No, I can speak spanish.) You laugh nervous. Your Spanish isn't the best, so you knew it was going to be a shit show if they decided to speak only Spanish.

"Entonces, cuentame." (So, tell me) Ferran says, you look over at Pedro, he's smiling, loving how his friends are messing with you. "Cómo fue el vuelo hasta acá?" (How was the flight?) He asks you.

You smiled and stared at him for a good five seconds. You open your mouth, but your mind isn't fully working. "Era. Umm. Bueno, muy relajante, si." You smile proud. (😀)

Gavi and Ferran looked at each other. You wanted to disappear because you knew that was so bad. "That's amazing. Relaxing, yes, good, yes. Amazing." Ferran says.

You happily high-five them, you knew you weren't the best but they not laughing made a difference.

"Pepi, I did it." You hug him happy. He hugs you back, kissing the top of your head. "Let's go, adiós chicos." You wave them goodbye.

You both go down the basement where the car was waiting for you. When you arrive at the house, Pedri loves the view, the golden sunset looking beautiful, making the whole place look like out of a movie.

"I know you can't eat junk food, but." You say walking to the oven, you FaceTime Rosy, asking her to help you on each step of the way, making her famous croquettes for him. "I try my best, not sure if it's good." You laugh.

"No way." He hurries next to you, trying one. "Fuck." He says, eyes rolling back. He's been resistant in order to keep his diet, missing the glorious food of his mom. "This is amazing."

You pose your hands on his shoulders, massaging the stress of the flight. "You want to know what else I did?" You whisper in his ear.

He humms at the feeling on his shoulders, relaxing him. "Hmh?" He mumbs.

"I prepared a bath for us, wanna go relax a little?" You kiss his neck, hugging him.

He turns around, kissing you, thankful for all you've done for him. "Let's go." He says smiling.

Second stop: Dallas

"Hay un dicho, dicen que si te pones el sombrero te montas al vaquero." (there's a say, if you wear the hat you get to ride the cowboy) Pedri joked, placing the cowboy hat on you. "And you're wearing it."

"What does montar mean? And what does sombrero mean?" You ask, confused. He wanted to burst out laughing, finding you adorable. "Don't make that face. Tell me." You pout.

"I meant that there's a say, if you wear the hat, you ride the cowboy." He winks at you. You smile, blushing a little now that you understand why he placed the hat on you.

"I will, but this cowboy has to wait till we're home." You kiss him. "Now let's go pick our horse." You grabbed his hand, hurried to get to where the horses are.

Pedro took you to this horse riding place, knowing that you wanted to do that.

Once you picked your horse, Pedro decided that you ride alone, wanting for you to have the whole experience. But also riding other horse to go with you.

"I wanna sing Hannah Montana." You say, moving your shoulders at the rhythm of the song playing in your head. "You're always find a way back home" you sing loudly.

Pedro took pictures of you. The love gaze he has over you is one that no one can deny. "I don't know any Hannah songs." He confess.

"Imma show you how to dance the Hannah dance from the movie." You told him. The scene already playing in your head.

After the horse riding experience, you both got back to the house. Quickly showering and changing for the outing you had with the team.

"Do you like this outfit?" You're standing in front of the mirror, already questioning if the two piece set was ideal for the night.

You pose for him. If you can take a picture and compare his face to the scene of the movie, the mask, his heart eyes are bigger.

"You look, preciosa." He poses his hands on your hip, "fuck, you look amazing baby." He kiss you tummy, making you blush.

"I was thinking that I was a little but short." You say, messing with his hair. "Don't you think?"

"You can wear whatever you want. If someone says something, I can throw some punches." He jokes, kissing your arms and caressing you hips.

"I love you, mi amor." You kiss the top of his head. You sit on his lap, posing your hands on his cheeks. "I'm so in love with you, Pedro."

You pull him towards you, kissing him. His hands on your hips go down to your ass, squishing it. Making you moan.

"Stop," you say, pulling away, "we have to meet your friends." You kiss him back again after saying that.

"What about you riding the cowboy?" He asks, you want to say he ment that joking, but he wasn't. You knew that if you keep kissing, you both will end up between the sheets and not at the club with the rest. "Please." He begged you.

You push him back to the bed. "I guess they won't miss us for a few minutes." You start to unbutton his shirt. "Don't you think?" You say kissing his neck. Earning a moan as an answer.

"I want to start pole dance," you joke, hand in hand with your boyfriend. "Will you let me pole dance you?" You ask him.

His face was a poem, he's confused, about to laugh, but wanted to remind serious. "I take all the dancing you want me to." He jokes back.

You smile, squishing his hand a little harder. You're at the mall at Las Vegas, searching for something Fer ask you to get for him.

"Did you know that, what happen in Vegas stay in Vegas? You ask him, joking again. "I think we need to do something crazy and have an inside joke."

"So when people ask us, we tell them ~Lo que pasa en las Vegas se queda en las Vegas~?" He joke back at you. "That actually would be cool."

"We all should try this strippers show, and do body shots on each other and then skinny dip in the pool." Ansu interrupts your conversation.

All the boys and you turn your attention to him, he was nodding excited, thinking his idea was the one of a century.

"Or." Mikky says, dragging the attention away from Ansu. "We can go bowling." She smiled.

Everyone agree with her, Ansu on the other side was pouting, mad that his Vegas plan was ruined by some bowling.

"No te enojes." (Don't be mad) You say pinching his cheek. "We can do something crazy after bowling, not that crazy like going to a strip club, but crazy." You shake him by the shoulders.

"Deal." He smiles, going to the other boys to plan something else.

The boys and you create this little friendship were they take care of you, and you take care of them. They liked you and always try to make you the most comfortable.

"I like this for your mom." You say, showing him beautiful ornaments that match her style. "I think the blue one, she likes blue." You think outloud.

"I like blue." He says, kissing you cheek. "But I was thinking this over here." He points at other thing. "Maybe I should get both."

You went to the other side of the store, looking at some pink outfits. You told Pedro that before leaving, you wanted to go to the movies to see Barbie. He brushed it off, so you planned on going with Mikky while he was at training.

"That pink would look so good on you." He says, making you turn back to face him. "So you think it fit me?"

"I think every color is your color." You grab the pink shirt and put it against him to see the contrast. "But this pink is definitely your color." You kiss him.

"Then help me pick one." He grabs your hand, dragging you to the male section of the store. You were confused, knowing he wasn't going to use it more than once.

"Pedro, you're not going to get something you'll only use once." You laugh, about to go back to the women section.

"But I want to match you," he pouts, you laugh at how adorable he looks doing that. "What, you don't want to match with me? How are we supposed to see Barbie if we don't go matching?"

"What?"

"How are we supposed to see Barbie if we don't match?" He repeats.

"We?" You ask, confused. "Are we going to see Barbie?" You smile a little.

"Yes, mi amor." He nods, smiling. "I got us tickets, so after bowling tonight, we're going to do some Barbie with Mikky and Frenkie."

You hug him, loving how he's always paying attention to you and spoiling you. "Eres mi favorito." You say, hugging him.

"I better be." He jokes, hugging you back, making you laugh.

"How's your teeth?" The blonde haired girl asked her best friend as they walked inside the house where the little party or whatever was held.

"So much better. I'm so glad it wasn't something big...the dentist just gave me some medicine and the pain stopped" Gavi says shocked

"Wow...that's amazing gavi" Pedri says enthusiastically. It was obvious that gavi was a little tipsy.

"I know right!?"

The young couple shook their head at the boy.

"He literally acts younger than you" Pedri tells her earning a slap on the arm from her.

"Y/n! pedri!" Ferran yelled happy too see his friends in his drunken state.

"Jesus why’s everyone so drunk already?" She asked Pedri.

"Should've stayed home Huh Bonita?"

"Y/n!" mikky yelled seeing her best friend

"Mikky!" She yelled back hugging the older girl

The two girls started talking but Pedri didn't leave her side at all. He stood behind her shielding her ass for anyone who tries too look at it. His hands kept moving up and down her waist.

"Mikky!" Frenkie yelled drunkily.

"I'll go take care of him you two have fun" mikky waved walking over too frenkie.

You turned in your boyfriends arms too look up at him.

"You're so touchy today"

"When am I not?" He asked furrowing his eyebrows.

"Fair enough" She shrugged.

“okey pedri! Stop being so territorial of her! We want her too!" Anna groaned trying too drag you away from him, but with the grip he had on your waist it was impossible.

"Sorry...not happening...she's mine"Pedri shook his head.

"Come on! Two minutes!" Anna complained.

"1 minute!" Pedri groaned letting go of his girlfriends waist.

She giggled and kissed his cheek before walking away with Anna and over too the small girl group.

Pedri was literally counting the seconds and as soon as he counted too 60 pedri walked over too them and picked her up and carried her away from them.

"Hey!" You yelled surprised.

"Yeah..?" Pedri asked setting you down in front of him.

" Yeah?" You mocked slapping his chest carefully, not too hurt him.

"Yeah, yeah" Pedri shushed her.

"You look gorgeous mi princesita" He kissed your head.

"Gracias pepi..." She blushed as he smirked.

"Niña! It's your song!" Taia yelled and that's when you noticed it was in fact your song...but pedri's hands on your body was a little distracting....

Taia, mikky, Anna, Katrina and Dani dragged you over too the dance floor. This obviously annoyed Pedri.

"Come on! Dance!" Anna encouraged taking her hands into her owns, trying too get her too dance. Only a second later her body moved a long too the Rhythm of the song 'beautiful liar'.

The girls had given the song title too her because she lied too everyone about her and pedri's relationship until they were caught in a heated moment....

Pedri watched her intensely, his eyes following her every movement...the ones that seconds ago was filled with love were now filled with lust and desire. He wanted her..no...he needed her, now.

"Hermano...unless you wanna get papped with whatever is going on down there I'd suggest leaving with your girl" Fernando told Pedri which made Pedri look down and blush as he saw the little problem he had going on there.

"Yeah...good idea" Pedri groaned looking at his girlfriend dancing...her tispy body looking so beautiful...so precious...

"Ninã...I think someone wants too go home" mikky smirks seeing Pedri looking at her with lust. Y/n looks over at him and giggles walking over too him slinging her arms around his neck while his went around her bottom holding her up.

"Hi.."

"Hey pretty girl..you enjoying yourself Hmm..?" Pedri asked teasingly.

"Only a little" She joked back.

"You wanna go home Hmm...?" He asked pushing some strands of hair behind her air looking into her shiny eyes.

**Hi!! I got a request to do something similar to this Pedri imagine and I was trying to make it different enough and came up with this idea. Then somehow felt the need to add Catalan phrases to it because why not? Here we read, we laugh and we learn 😅 enjoy ❤️**

"You two go to Eindhoven for the women's Champions League and you two to Vigo. All clear?"

"Shouldn't I go to Eindhoven? I've been covering the women's matches all season".

"I know", says my boss. "But the men's team is going to Japan right after the match and we need you on that plane. I was about to tell you about that but you interrupted me".

"Who else is coming with me there?"

"It's just you", he says, surprising me. I haven't been doing this for long enough to be sent alone to any matches. Even friendlies.

He grabs my arm gently to move me away from everyone else. "I get it. You don't want people to know about you and Gavi and this is another opportunity for people to stick their noses where they don't belong but it's also a great opportunity for you to prove yourself. I know you can do this. And you'll be flying with the players too. So it won't be as bad".

Yeah well…it's also a 15-hour long flight so I doubt having my boyfriend there will magically fix everything.

But he's right. It's another moment to prove how good I am at my job. I'm still always the youngest and ever since the rumours about me and Pablo started to show up on social media, it's been tough. Everyone is paying way more attention to me than I wanted. And not for the reasons I wanted them to pay attention to me.

[You]: I'm going to Japan with you so one less gift for your list.

[Pablo]: you are? Your boss is the best! And you can sit with me on the plane.

[You]: I'll sit with the rest of the press. We don't want more rumours 🙄

[Pablo]: if you think I'm going to spend 15 hours on the same plane as you but not with you, you don't really know me 🤣

He's right, of course. But all my colleagues are always looking at us to see if we show any signs that we really are together. Probably to be the first ones to post about it online. It's so boring.

"Breathe, just breathe", says my colleague Adrià when we are about to take off.

"You say it like it's easy".

He just laughs. He's used to this because I always have to travel with him. "It'll be Pablito's job to remind you later. At least with him you can cuddle or whatever. It'll help".

"Yeah".

I hope it does. But for now, it's time to worry about the match. Concentrating on my job helps me clear my mind a bit. It always has. And before I realise, we’ve made it to Vigo. This flight was short. The next one…

This Celta-Barça match is the last one of the season for both teams. One is fighting to stay in La Liga while the other one won it weeks ago…and it shows. I mean, Pablo isn't even on the starting line up and he plays almost every match.

When Adrià and I are walking towards the radio section, we see him coming out to inspect the pitch, eating some sweets.

"Great pre-match meal, huh?"

"It's how I got all these muscles you like so much", he says, flexing his arm.

I shake my head while Adrià laughs. “You two are too cute”.

“Do you want one?”, says Pablo, showing us all the sweets he has in his pocket.

“Sure”, we both say, picking one each.

“See you later, gorgeous”.

“Too cute”, says Adrià again and I hit his arm.

The 2-1 win means Celta avoids relegation and the whole stadium celebrates the result. But for me, it’s time to get all my stuff and make my way to the airport. It’ll be Adrià who stays to do the interviews this time.

There aren’t many journalists travelling with the team, but they are all staring at me after one of them announced I’m going to be in the player’s area and not with them.

“We never even get to travel with the players anymore but she gets to be with them in first class while we get chronic back pain on those tiny seats”.

“Well, they have to keep little Gavi happy”.

Their laughs make me want to get up and leave but I won’t give them that satisfaction. But their comments get to me. Of course they do. And that’s why when the players show up and Pablo looks at me, I shook my head. I know it hurts him to be rejected, but he also understands why I have to do it.

And it’s only 15 minutes later that I get to join him, and the rest of the team, on the plane.

“Where do you want to sit?”

“I don’t have a preference”, I say, already feeling anxious. Pablo, on the other hand, is acting like an overexcited puppy. And that makes me want to try and hide my fear even more so I don’t ruin this for him.

“Let’s go there. Do you want the window seat?”

“No”.

He takes my laptop bag to put it away and then leads me to the seats he likes. This plane is so big. Too big. But it also feels very small. Can this piece of metal really stay in the sky for so long?

"Do you want some?", says Pablo, offering me more sweets.

"No, thank you".

"Must be the first time you say no to sweets but it's pretty late I guess", he laughs. "Do you want to watch a movie or nap?"

"Yeah", I say, not really listening to him.

"Yes to which one?"

“What?”

He gives me a funny look but doesn’t comment on my reaction. “Movie or nap? What do you prefer?”

“Movie”.

“And cuddles?”

“Of course”, I answer, trying to match his smile.

I try to just focus on the movie and Pablo’s arms around me, protecting me. But they can’t protect me from this fear. Nothing can.

“Tinc por” (I’m scared), I whisper, barely aware I'm speaking.

Pablo looks at me worriedly and not just because of what I said. He knows I only switch to speaking Catalan in front of him when I’m being serious about something. He found that out the few times he pissed me off. And I also do it when I wake up in the morning mumbling nonsensical stuff. But the rest of the time, I speak only Spanish to him. Even if he’s always trying to learn new words in Catalan to say to me because he knows I find that adorable.

"What are you afraid of?"

"Flying".

"What? Since when? You fly for work all the time".

"And it's horrible all the time".

“Why did you never tell me?”

“It’s not as if you could help”.

“So was I supposed to find out when we went on holiday together?”

“I guess. Are you mad I didn’t tell you?”

“Yes. I don’t want us to keep big secrets from each other. But I’m more annoyed I can’t do anything to help you. Should I ask for a sleeping tablet for you? If you’re sleeping you won’t feel bad”.

“I thought about taking one later”.

“Better if you do now and get some sleep. And I’ll have time to figure out how to help”.

“Are you going to Google for tips on how to help?”, I joke.

“Yes”.

“I’ve already tried them all but I appreciate it. I appreciate you”.

While we wait for the flight attendant who’ll bring me my sleeping tablet, I hold onto Pablo tightly. He’s the best remedy to all my problems and doesn’t know it.

"You can leave when I'm sleeping".

"No, I can't".

"Pablo, you've played for 45 minutes and need to move around a bit. You can't just sit for so many hours".

"Stop worrying about me".

"I'm your girlfriend. It's my job to look after you".

"And it's my job to look after you".

I just shake my head at his stubbornness, hiding a smile while I take the tablet. Hoping it’s a strong one that will knock me out for a good amount of hours, I put my head on Pablo’s shoulder and close my eyes.

"Pablo?"

"Yeah?"

"T'estimo molt (I love you so much)".

"I love you too. Sleep well now. You need the rest. I’ll be here by your side the whole time".

                                     **

When I wake up, I feel so groggy and confused. I notice a weight on my shoulder and see that it’s Pablo’s head resting there.

“Are you feeling better?”, whispers Robert when he notices I’m awake.

“Yes, thank you. I can’t move now, though”.

He laughs too before turning back to watch his movie. And I know I should grab my laptop to get some work done, which will also help me stop worrying about still being on the plane. How long until we get there? An hour and a half. I’ve slept for 13 hours. That’s…a lot.

I need to do something to avoid overthinking so I try and pick up my phone moving slowly.

“What are you…wait!”, seeing me awake wakes Pablo up immediately. “You ok?”

“Yes. I’m fine. We’re almost there and I have to do some work. That always helps”.

“I googled…”, his little blush makes me smile. “It didn’t help much. Unless you let me hypnotize you”.

“You already did. How do you think you managed to get me to date you?”

“So funny”, he says, rolling his eyes and smiling. “You really are feeling better?”

I nod. “And please tell me you didn’t stay all 13 hours here while I slept”.

“I didn’t. But I was always close and looking at you to make sure you were ok”.

“Good”.

I dedicate the last hour on the plane to work and thankfully, after all this suffering, we make it to Japan.

                                       **

Our routine to avoid people’s comments is exhausting. The team leaves the plane and I have to wait until they are all out. When we get to the hotel, it’s me who gets there first. I don’t get to stay in the same room as Pablo, but it’s the same hotel so just being seen together on the lift could create some drama. And then when some players leave for events they have to attend, we also leave the hotel at different times…only to meet at a café we saw when we got there.

“Fancy seeing you here”.

“Let’s go see the city. Away from all those jealous idiots”, says Pablo, taking my hand. A part of me fears that if he finds out what they say about me, he’ll stop giving them interviews. And that will make me the bad guy for sure.

After a nice romantic walk, we go back to the hotel to rest before the match. A match that doesn’t mean much football-wise but has a lot of sentimental value since it’s against Iniesta’s team. I grew up seeing him play so I’m as excited as all the players are.

The match ends with a 2-0 win for Barça and when I go back to the tunnel to hide from the rain, I hear Pablo calling my name.

“What is it?”

“Come with me”.

“Where?”

“Just come”.

“Pablo…”.

But he doesn’t listen to my protests, moving his hand to grab mine before realising what he’s doing and just telling me to follow him again. So I do.

“Here she is. My girlfriend”.

When I see who Pablo is talking to, I try not to freak out. He’s introducing me to Andrés Iniesta? I have to remind myself to be professional before talking.

“Hi…it’s really nice meeting you”.

“Nice meeting you too. Gavi told me you needed to record a little interview for the radio? I wasn’t going to do any but I guess I can make an exception for him. Or for you”, he laughs.

For a second, I just stare at Iniesta. He’s talking to me and wants me to interview him. How is this my life?

Pablo notices what’s going on and touches my arm to wake me up from my daydreaming.

“Yes. Just two minutes. Let me get my phone to record it. Thank you so much, really”.

While we record the interview, Pablo leaves to meet Iniesta’s kids and then we all leave the stadium and I don’t get to see him until we make it to the hotel.

“Thank you for the Iniesta interview. It’s…a dream”.

“I get it. It was also a dream to play against him”.

I smile at him, suddenly not caring at all about who sees us. “Do you want to hang out before we leave? I have to write an article but it shouldn’t take long”.

“I need to take a nap, sorry”.

“Ok”, I say, slightly disappointed. “I’ll see you at the airport, then”.

Three hours later, I’m surrounded again by all my lovely peers. Noticing their whispers doesn’t bother me anymore. Who cares what they think?

So when I see the players arrive, I walk towards them. I can notice all of them looking at me, surprised. But no one is as surprised as Pablo.

“What are you doing?”

“Hanging out with you guys”.

“Since when?”, laughs Eric. “I thought you were ashamed of being seen next to us”.

“Only of being seen next to you, García”, I joke back.

We keep chatting and get to the topic I didn’t want to think about.

“I didn’t know you were afraid of flying. I used to be a bit but now I do a lot better”, tells me Robert, and I don’t know if it’s true or just him trying to make me feel better but I appreciate it anyway.

“Yeah, it used to be worse for me too. But it’s still hard”.

"It's easier having your boy by your side, right?”, asks Eric.

“A little”.

Pablo grabs Eric’s arm so he can whisper in his ear. And Eric whispers back. What are they doing?

"Sempre al teu costat" (Always by your side).

“Sempre?” (Always?)

“Sempre”.

Even if I can notice everyone’s eyes on us, I hug my boyfriend. And once again, no one is as surprised by my actions as him.

“They can see us”, he whispers.

“Let them see us. I don’t care”.

After the hug, we keep hanging out with the rest of the squad. And when it’s time to board, I grab his hand and hold it until we reach the place.

But all the adrenaline from finally confirming what everyone suspected goes away when I’m back inside the plane.

“Don’t freak out. I got you some things”.

“You what?”

I turn to see Pablo getting a bag out of his backpack.

“I got these tablets which are supposed to calm you down. They have natural ingredients so you can have the sleeping tablet too if you need to. I also got you an eye mask. The lady at the store said you won’t be able to see anything so that might help too. And…where is it? Here! Pillow spray. It’s supposed to be good too, I don’t know. It smells like lavender, it’s nice. I’ll keep it if it doesn’t work”.

"When did you buy all of this?"

"When you were writing the article and I said I would just go nap".

“Why are you perfect?”

“Just trying to help”, he shrugs.

“Having you near me was enough but let’s try all of this!”

2. what sport moment made you cry? (happy)

I am very often a cry from joy man so there's more of these than the sad ones.

I think for f1 the most recent would be monza! something about it all just struck a very specific chord and i was tearing up in an airport cafe.

For football I have to go with the 2022 wc final. Whenever I think about it I get a bit misty eyed, what a fairytale that was. Especially because of that string of heartbreaks before hand, it was even more dreamy

13. have you been to a game? what was your favourite part?

I've never been to a GP, I've been operating on a student budget all my adult life. I have however been to several football games, and I think my favourite thing is actually the build up to the game oddly enough. The crowds of people all buzzing with excitement, team colours everywhere, the chanting, the songs. There's something about the community of it all that's just beautiful to me. The equivalent of a concert crowd singing.

18. favourite friendship/bromance between athletes?

this one is DIFFICULT! of currently active athletes, I'll have to say charlos in f1, and pedri&gavi and wilo saliba & big gabi in football ⚽❤️ (honourable mention: here we goooooo saka & emile smith rowe 😭💔 arsenal reuinite my boys please some day)

Ever since you and Pablo started officially dating, Aurora had been the biggest supporter of your love always saying that you make her little brother the happiest. She basically sees you as family.

"Alright, ready?" she said and you nodded in excitement rushing on the balcony immediately catching the sight of the bus and quickly spotting your boy jumping up and down like a happy child. He was so adorable and you were very proud of his achievements.

You brought from home his old Barça flag with his face on it wrapping it around your shoulders before stepping out on the balcony cheering with Rora.

Pablo didn't see you immediately, overwhelmed by the amount of people surrounding the bus and chanting his name. He knew that you won't be in the crowd because he didn't want to risk when he wasn't there to protect you knowing well how these things can go terribly wrong.

"Hermano! Hermano! Look!" Pedri pointed being tipped by Aurora and Pablo furrowed his eyes adorably before looking up at the balcony his eyes widening and his heart skipping a beat.

There you were..standing with his sister on the balcony looking more beautiful than ever wearing his old jersey with some black shorts and with a Barça flag around your shoulders...his niña perfecta!

"Amor!" Pablo yelled reaching his hand out like he could reach you and you smiled wide waving to him before taking off the flag and moving closer to the railing of the balcony.

"Ten cuidado!" he said and you blushed nodding your head before tossing him the flag and he caught it smelling it before putting it around his own shoulders.

"Smells like you.." he whispered and you smiled nodding your head and sending him a kiss while he called his friends to show them that his girls came to see him.

"Ai I see her! Hola amiga!" Ansu and Balde were waving at you together with Pedri, Ferran and Araujo. Pablo was smiling proudly up at you like nobody else existed around you and he prayed that this bus never moves again.

"Te amo.." he whispered but you could read his lips nodding your head before turning around showing him his name on your back before sending him another kiss he caught.

"Y/n! Y/n!" suddenly everyone underneath the apartment was chanting your name and you blushed bright red while Aurora giggled hugging your shoulders and Pablo yelled your name with everyone.

People applauded when you waved to everyone before returning to their own little celebrations as the bus started moving and Pablo gave you sad eyes..he just wanted to keep re-living him moment forever!

You sent each other one last kiss before he was starting to be too far away to see. Immediately then, your phone buzzed and you knew who it was.

Looking at your options, I agree with all of them, even the raphinha. Gavi, Ronald, Pedri and Raphinha would be my captains. And about lewa, I would even include him, but as you said, he is very selfish. I've lost count of how selfish he was on the field, you know. Apart from some questionable attitudes too, like that situation with the lamine. I have a different opinion about Gundogan than the fans do. I don't know if you'll agree with me, but when he gives these interviews, the feeling he gives is that only he has a winning mentality and that others are far below. This bothers me a little. I remember that interview during the defeat in the classic where he said that the players didn't seem to care and so on, and gavi had just said with teary eyes that playing well without winning is no use. Anyone who saw the interview he gave yesterday would even think that he was Barcelona's biggest highlight.

Yeah I'd add Lewa too but like you said he doesn't have the best track record with youngsters and our captain has got to be able to get the best out of them especially since we'll probably have even more next season since we'll still be very much broke 😭 and yeah I'm totally with you on Gundo, the way he talks about his teammates feels very condescending. And yeah his interviews do give the impression that he gave it all and was let down by his teammates which is far from true. He's very much part of the problem.
