Common Misconceptions In The RWBY Fandom
Because this kinda needs to be made. There’s a lot of lines in this show that have been interpreted in strange and weird ways that I feel we need to clear up the misconceptions about. So instead of scattering them through various meta-posts, let’s clear them all up at the same time. So, if you’re willing to come along, let’s begin:
“Bad Father Taiyang” Part 1: Yang raised Ruby
The Misconception:
Now, this is probably the top one I see around the place. And I’m not trying to take anything away from Yang here, she definitely took on a Mothering role in Ruby’s life, a lot of people take this to an extreme. I’ve seen people thinking that Yang would “obviously be good at cooking, having to cook for herself and Ruby” and various statements to that effect.
To put it simply, when Yang says that Taiyang “shut down” in Burning The Candle, they think it meant a full-on, Apathy-like cessation of willpower. That Yang had to take on primary caregiver role.
The Proof Against It:
But that’s disproven only a few lines later. When Yang left the house with Ruby to find her mother, she explicitly says that she “waited for Dad [Taiyang] to leave the house”. Taiyang was still clearly taking care of them, physically at very least.
And even beyond that, Yang and Ruby hold no ill-will against Taiyang. Their relationship is clearly a loving one, with Taiyang falling asleep at Ruby’s beside in Volume 3. And before anyone says that this is a Retcon, in the latter half of Volume 2, we’re shown this good relationship when the girls speak of him after he sends them Zwei in the mail. A package from him is considered something to “cheer her [Ruby] up”.
Do you really think they’d have such a relationship if he was emotionally or caregiving-ly absent? No, because that would be an abusive relationship, which is kind’ve RWBY’s speciality in recognizing.
Even on a meta-level, they cast Burnie Burns, a man who epitomizes a “good father” to the RT community and to the company itself as Taiyang. That doesnt seem like the casting they’d do for a bad father.
What The Line Really Meant:
For a period of time, Taiyang shut down emotionally. He became depressed. While he cared for his children’s physical needs, he neglected their emotional needs. This is something that clearly has affected Yang, putting the burden of Ruby’s emotional needs on her (a burden she has still helped shoulder since then, though is clearly learning to let go of recently), but not really affected the two girls’ relationship with their father. Taiyang recovered from his depression, and has been an admirable father since then. Like every parent in RWBY, he’s a person, and he’s made mistakes in his parenting, but that doesn’t make him a bad parent.
Yang was Retconned!
The Misconception:
This, technically, can also fall under “Bad Father Taiyang”, but is usually mostly addressed at Miles and Kerry.
I’ve seen people saying that Yang’s fighting ability was retconned into “uses her semblance too much” and “dumb fighter who relies on her power”. People dissecting the pre-Volume 4 fight scenes for evidence of Yang being a smart fighter. Calling this a “retcon” (Retroactive Continuity: when a previous established fact is altered by the writer later in the story).
This all stems from a conversation Yang had with Taiyang, in which he says “Do you realize that you used your semblance to win every fight after the qualifiers?”
The Proof Against It:
Holy crap is this taking Taiyang out context.
Straight up, the lines directly before this were:
Yang: “Let me guess: ‘I was sloppy.’”
Taiyang: “-laughs- No. You were predictable. And stubborn. And maybe a little boneheaded.”
It’s pretty clear from the preceding lines that Taiyang isn’t talking about her fighting style. After some talk about her semblance, and how it won’t always save her, the conversation shifts into one about Raven, her stubbornness, and her similarities with Yang.
During which, Taiyang says that “You both act like the easiest way to tackle an obstacle is through it. That strength is all that matters in a fight.”
Which leads us to:
What The Line Really Meant:
I plan on making a post about this, but Strength is at the core of Yang’s character arc. Not just physical strength at that, but the word that  most people would use here is Power.
Yang is person who was born strong. Not just physically, even. Her core character trait, beyond anything else, is that Yang Xiao Long might get knocked down, but she’ll rise stronger than before. It’s her semblance; her connection to fire is evocative of phoenix motifs; hell the song “I Burn” calls her a Super Saiyan, who have “get stronger from being beaten down” as actual trait of their species.
But Strength, Power isn’t everything. We hear this in one of the first lines of the show, from Salem herself: There Will Be No Victory In Strength.
And that’s the point of the conversation with Taiyang. He explicitly compares her to Raven, who thinks Strength, not just physical and magical but also strength in skill and intelligence, is everything. And Yang has kinda been following that philosophy. She’s been using her strength to try and brute-force situations. We see this in the Yellow Trailer, as she grabs Junior by the balls in order to try extract information from him. We see this in the fight with Neo, when she switches up her fighting style multiple times, but can’t actually beat her. We see this in the fight with Mercury, where Cinder predicted she’d counter Mercury’s fake attack rather than dodge or block.
But this is where Taiyang hammers home the point that Yang’s strength isn’t everything. There are times to use strength, and times to find alternate solutions. And Yang has taken that to heart. The point of the Bandit fight is that while she predicts it, she doesn’t start it, giving her opponents the option to walk away. When Mercury grabs her arm, rather than attack him and get caught up fighting, she lets it go. When she arrives down in the Vauilt, she deconstructs Raven’s motivations so completely that by the time she shoulder-checks her mom on the way past, Raven’s already been defeated.
And when she goes up against Adam, someone who believes in strength just as much as Raven, she ultimately beats him by not using her strength until she’s taken away his.
“Bad Father Taiyang” Part 2: Moping
The Misconception:
Taiyang tells Yang to “stop moping”. This means he isn’t taking her PTSD seriously/he doesn’t understand her true problem/he’s a bad father/Miles and Kerry think PTSD is just moping.
The Proof Against It: See my first point on why Taiyang isn’t a bad father and why he wouldn’t be given such a harsh line unless there was some truth to it.
But on the Miles and Kerry interpretation, they have honestly been doing a fantastic job at portraying what PTSD is actually like. Some credit goes to Barbara as well, but PTSD in RWBY is portrayed as something you have to learn to live with, not overcome or “get better” from. Sure, you can mitigate it, but it’ll unfortunately always be with you.
Yang didn’t “get over” her PTSD by being told to stop moping. Because Taiyang was not referring to her PTSD.
What The Line Actually Meant:
Yang was moping.
See, Yang’s not just suffering from PTSD in Volume 4. She’s also suffering from heartbreak.
Her best friend, the person she was closest to outside of her family, the person she may even have realized that she was in love with, had just left her like Yang feared she would.
Like we’ve established, Yang is all about getting up when she gets knocked down. That’s at the core of her character. I honestly don’t think the missing arm and the PTSD would have kept her back home as long as it did on it’s own. Because we all know how a Xiao Long reacts to heartbreak (See: Taiyang “shutting down”).
But also because Adam straight-up told us that Blake leaving hurt more than losing an arm did.
What do I mean by that?
See, the whole point of the Adam fight is to explain to Blake what Yang wants to say but knows she can’t. The person Adam pretended to be is Yang, even if he doesn’t know it. Every line he says after he takes off the mask is something that actually applies to Yang’s feelings towards Blake.
“People hurt me long before we met” = Raven’s abandonment, Summer’s death
“But no-one hurt me quite like you. You didn’t leave scars, you just left me alone” = Blake left Yang after someone else had left her a scar (the arm)
“She made a promise to me once” = Literally paralleling the promises Blake has made to both people
Blake knows Yang and Pretend!Adam are alike. In semblance, in personality, it’s why she fears Yang going bad at the Vytal Tournament. And it’s why Adam saying that “no-one hurt me quite like you” triggers Blake’s realisation of why Yang doesn’t want Blake to protect her. Because it would leave her alone.
Yang can handle anything life throws at her besides Blake leaving. So when Yang was left moping after being left behind by the woman she loves, who better to point out she was moping than the person who’s been through the same thing twice?
The Birds
The Misconception:
And finally, the subject that began this rant of mine. The revelation to our heroes that Raven and Qrow can turn into birds.
People, quite confusing, take this to mean that our heroes are rendered suspicious of Ozpin because… he gave Qrow and Raven magical powers? They decry it as not really making sense, a false way to create tension between our heroes and Ozpin.
But maybe there’s a reason why it doesn’t make sense?
What The Line Really Meant:
Just look at the wording people. "What you did to Qrow and my mother", "What Oz did to my brother and me".
Raven implied that Ozpin gave them magic, placed this burden on them, without their consent. And Yang was rightfully pissed at the idea of such a thing. The rest of the group are taken aback at such an idea, because if it can happen to Ozpin’s previous generation of followers, it could happen to them.
You see Yang only reacts when Qrow firmly states that "We made a choice, we wanted this". It’s a look of shock. Raven lied to her.
And that’s why she tells Ozpin “No more lies, no more half-truths”. Raven has placed doubt in her mind, but both sides have lied to her at this stage. The only way to make sure she’s on the right side is if one of them isn’t lying to her, feeding her half-truths and lies of omission.
Which is why she takes it so hard when he omits the truth again. Down in the Vault, Yang made her choice. She chose Ozpin over her mother, permanently. There’s no going back from what Yang said to her. And then Ozpin omits the truth again, about the Relic, and this not only makes Yang question if she made the right choice, but reminds her that if she’s made the wrong one, she can’t go back on it. That’s she’s sacrificed any hope of a relationship with her mother for Ozpin, a man who can’t stop lying to her.
Conclusion:
I hope I’ve helped clear up some misconceptions for you guys, and made your RWBY-watching experience less confusing and misinformed. If you liked this, please reblog and share these corrections, so that the fandom no longer gets caught up on these moments.
These are just the misconceptions that I’ve been to dredge up from my memory on a Sunday night, so if I spot any more I’ll add them in later reblogs.

Cold-Hearted (A Bucky Barnes Fic) Chapter 8
A/N: Hello beautiful people! Here is chapter 8 of Cold-Hearted and it's packed with angsty filled goodness! The team learns more about the infamous trafficking leader and the relationship he has with Raina. We also get an emotional heated moment between Raina and Bucky that I feel you guys would enjoy. Just a heads up: the smut part comes in the next chapter ;) Again, I own no rights to Marvel nor its characters.
Chapter 8
Adrian Reese.
“That's the name she gave you?”
“Actually, that's the only thing she said before she went upstairs.”
The remaining team members, minus Bucky and myself, sat in the meeting room learning about the trafficking leader and the relationship he had with me.
“Adrian Reese. Born in Orlando, Florida to Cuban immigrants but moved to Detroit, Michigan starting his freshman year of college. Attended the University of Michigan majoring in bioengineering and joined the United States Marine Corps to pay for schooling. He learned marksmanship, stealth, combat training and mastered every single category. He could tackle enemy forces in the blink of an eye, and nobody could see him coming. Like smoke, hence the nickname. He was ruthless, fearless, and a natural born leader.” FRIDAY informed the team.
Steve went on: “While attending college, he met Raina who also attended the University of Michigan majoring in psychology and behavioral sciences minoring in Spanish. They got into a relationship upon Raina's junior year, and things seemed to be going well until various restraining orders and complaints were made against Reese by her. She reported numerous times to Detroit PD about her being abused by Reese coming in with black eyes, bruised ribs, and one time a broken jaw.” Steve's eyebrows furrowed in anger. “The most Reese got was a $1500 fine and spent 36 hours in the county jail.”
“The son of a bitch abused her on the regular and the police didn't do a damn thing to stop him?!” Sam was seething.
Tony frowned. “About a year or so ago, Reese and a few of his ex-Marine buddies started up an organization selling weapons and intel to various world leaders for profit claiming he wanted to help countries become stronger on their own against future forces without the help of the Avengers. He claimed for so long the world has always relied on us to fix their problems ignoring their own military and local law enforcement just because they're superheroes. It's the military men and women who are the real heroes and they don't get as much recognition as the Avengers, and I guess his hate for us grew ever since.”
“Apparently Raina found out about what he was doing and wanted no part of it or him anymore,” Natasha spoke up and gave a sympathetic look. “Can't really blame her considering what he put her through. Reese tried to prevent her from leaving and Raina managed to escape from him by delivering a permanent injury to Reese's left eye. She checked into a local medical facility to treat her recent injuries received by him before she moved to New York City. Seems like he found her again while we were in D.C.”
“He should pray to God that I don't get my hands on him,” Sam fumed.
“We shouldn't go at him with rash emotions,” Vision informed. “Even if what he did to her was vile.”
Rhodey spoke up: “Since the drop in D.C. failed, it's obvious he wants to make up for the profit and product he lost. So it's highly likely he will strike again.”
“And when that comes we'll catch him,” Steve informed. He sighed deeply and spoke again. “It's been a long day and I think it's best for everyone to get some rest. I'm gonna go check on Bucky.”
Steve left the meeting room and the others soon followed. Wanda was still sitting at the table on the verge of tears and Vision noticed.
“Is everything all right Wanda?”
Wanda wiped away her tears and sniffled. “I'm just worried about her,” she said. “She was with that man for almost 3 years and all he did was abuse her. I can't imagine what she must be going through now that he found her again.”
Vision placed a hand on her shoulder. “She has us here to support her. We just got to give her time. We'll protect her.”
Wanda gave a small smile. “Yeah. I guess that's true.”
***
3:06 a.m.
Everyone was asleep except for me. I spent the rest of the day distraught ever since we got back from D.C. My body felt numb and it took everything in my power not to cry. I was angry, hurt, scared and guilty. I jeopardized the mission by letting Carlos get away and caused Bucky to get injured in the process.
Bucky…
I felt the tears creep up again. Bucky sacrificed his own body to save me because I was too scared to move. My own fear caused one of my teammates to get hurt, specifically the one person who I have grown deep feelings for. I couldn't take it. He had to know.
I walked down the hall and made my way to Bucky's room. I raised my shaking hand to knock on his door but hesitated for a moment. Then I gathered the strength and knocked three times on his door. A few seconds later Bucky opened his bedroom door. He was dressed in his black pajama pants, a black tank top, his hair falling loosely on his shoulders, and a bandage covering his upper right shoulder from where he was shot. He appeared to be wide awake (he told me that he suffers from insomnia sometimes) but immediately his face turned into a look of concern once he saw me.
“Raina?” he spoke. “What's wrong?”
I tried so hard to fight back tears and my body trembled on the inside. My voice cracked when I answered him.
“Hi Bucky,” I said. “Do you mind if we talked? Please?”
Bucky opened his door wider and invited me in. “Yeah sure come in.”
We both sat down on the edge of Bucky's bed and he looked even more concerned than before.
Before he got a chance to speak, I spoke up.
“Are you okay?” My voice cracked. “How are you feeling? Bucky I'm so sorry this was all my fault!”
Bucky's face softened a bit. “Raina the worst injury I ever had was falling from a cliff in 1945 and losing my arm. I should be dead right now. Getting shot in the shoulder? This is nothing.”
I turned to face him tears now streaming down my face.
“But if I hadn't been distracted then you wouldn't have gotten shot in the first place!!!!” I was hysterical. “I let one of the people I care about get injured and I could've stopped it!” “I…”
Bucky grabbed my shoulders and spoke in a soft tone.
“Calm down Raina. Take a deep breath for me please.” He sounded scared.
The tears kept flowing and I stared at him with so much guilt and hurt. There Bucky was comforting me and genuinely concerned for my well-being. He wanted to make sure I was okay despite him being the one injured. My heart swelled. I placed a hand to the back of his head and brought him close so that our foreheads were touching.
“Bucky,” I whispered. “There's something you need to know.”
“What is it?”
“The traffic leader Smoke… I know him. In fact, we used to be a couple.”
Bucky pulled back and his eyes widened. “What?”
My voice cracked even more and the tears kept coming. “His real name is Adrian Reese and he hurt me… he hurt me the entire time we were together. Every time I voiced my opinion about something I disagreed with he would hit me. If I said nothing, he would punch me or throw me. It's like every day he would find a way to belittle me. He treated me like I was nothing and lied to me by saying he loved me.”
Bucky sat there in shock. His jaw tightened as he listened.
“I thought I was free of him,” I whispered my head hung low. “I thought I was done with the pain and humiliation he put me through. Once I left him, I promised- no vowed- to myself that I would never go through that again. That I wouldn't fall for someone and risk my life and trust for a person who would abuse me.” I turned to face him again. “That was why I couldn't tell you the truth about how I felt about you. Bucky, I have had feelings for you for a while now. I think about you all the time and every moment I spend with you I treasure. I wanted to tell you how I felt a long time ago but… my past relationship with Reese kept me from doing that.” I rested my head on his chest and clung to his shirt. “I love you Bucky. And I'm so sorry. I just couldn't handle being hurt again.” and with that the dam burst and I cried hard into his shirt.
***
Bucky's POV
My heart shattered. I watched the girl sitting next to me cry her eyes out and tell me her darkest secret. I felt all sorts of emotions. Anger. Sadness. But what I felt the most was Love. I had been attracted to Raina ever since the first day we met. I couldn't stop looking at her; I lie awake at night thinking about her. However, the moment when I realized my feelings for her was the night after our training session. It was so easy to talk to her; I felt like I could tell her anything. But I didn't want to rush anything or make her uncomfortable so I said nothing. Tonight just solidified my love for her, hell I took a bullet for her! And I'd do it again; I would do anything to protect her because… I loved her too.
I wrapped my arms around her and I could feel tears in my eyes. I let a few of them fall before I spoke, my voice low.
“When I find him, I promise you I will make him pay for what he did to you. I will protect you with my life or die trying doing so.” My hands cupped her face and I lifted her head so she could look at me. “I love you, Ariana. And I swear to you that I will never ever hurt you.” I stared intensely into those beautiful brown eyes that I admired so much. They held so much pain and sadness behind them. I could relate to that on such a deep level. I wanted to ease her pain; I wanted to make her believe that I cared. So I did the one thing that immediately came to mind.
I pressed my lips to hers in a heated kiss. My hands tangled into her dark curls as I parted her lips with my tongue and slipped it inside her mouth. I could taste her tears as I noticed she was still crying. My hands tore away from her hair and I wiped her tears away with my fingers. A soft gasp escaped her lips and I felt her arms wrap around my neck. One of her hands slipped into my hair as she pulled me closer, her movements becoming more aggressive and needy.
“This was what she wanted.” I thought. “To know what it feels like to be appreciated and loved by someone. All she ever known was abuse. I wanted to fulfill her deepest desire.”
I grabbed her waist and guided her onto her back. I slowly climbed on top of her as I continued kissing her. I traced my tongue along the inside of her mouth and gently bit down on her bottom lip. I could hear her moan into my mouth and I shivered inwardly. I wanted to give her more. I wanted to show her that I loved her, how a woman should be treated by a man. I broke the kiss and placed my forehead against hers.
“Do you trust me?” I whispered against her lips.
Raina nodded slowly.
“I need to hear you say it,” I told her. I wanted her consent.
Raina snaked a hand behind my head and tangled it into my hair. She sniffled then placed a soft kiss to my lips.
“I trust you, Bucky.”

Dudeblade Doesn’t Know Yang Xiao Long
https://rwdestuffs.tumblr.com/post/177851454657/throughout-volumes-1-to-3-yang-has-had-a-problem
For someone who says they’re a Yang fan, you sure do miss a lot of info about her.
Firstly: Anon, seriously. Punctuation. Did you skip that class or something? Did punctuation kill a family member or something?- Why do you hate punctuation so much? You only used it once, and it was a single period. At this point, I’m just imagining you going up to the literal embodiment of punctuation and going “Hello my name is annonymus you killed my father prepare to die”
Dudeblade, Asks have limited character counts. Has it not occurred to you that in order to say all this they need to cut the punctuation? Same reason why I cut punctuation on Twitter: it just piles up. The lack of punctuation doesn’t even make them incoherent because I can understand them perfectly well (more on THAT later...). This is just you trying to dismiss someone based on petty reasoning...Which doesn’t really work when we both know you praise Sokumotanaka despite having similar issues with punctuation AND spelling.
However don’t think my anger is limited to YOU only. I’m pissed at that anon as well? Why? Because aside from one argument that was wrong, every single argument they just made is actually their own. I know this because those are, word for word, MY arguments. From my rebuttal to your “Yang done dirty” post. Hey Anon, how about you make your own arguments or at least reword mine so you don’t wholesale rip me off.
Second, no. Yang has not had a problem of overly relying on her semblance, or ‘emblane’ as you put it, she always used it strategically. I watched the Yellow trailer again just to look for when she abused it, and it was only in the final stretch of the fight, when she was going 1v1 with Junior. But I also looked back, and saw that you were right. She was firing at the Nevermore from the ground, but when it came in close, she adapted. She jumped into it’s beak, and started firing into it.
A. the full part is ‘hers emblance” which shows he just put a space in the wrong area. You even left out the “c’ just to mock someone who disagrees with you.
B. Yeah wanna know WHY she used her Semblance? because she got angry. Remember this, it will BITE Dudeblade in the ass later.
C. Also, You should ALSO know that Yang was using kicks in the Yellow Trailer as well, Remember THIS as well.
And D. Yes because leaping into the jaws of a giant bird is such a smart idea. Not like if the bird’s jaw strength was slightly better should have gotten EATEN. Congrats Yang, you gave your sister Survivor’s Guilt.
Repeatedly.
So, my bad. She didn’t strategically do that
Huh. Wonder if he would have admitted that if he knew the Anon was just parroting what I said.
every other time, I was right. Take the fight against Mercury. She wasn’t abusing her semblance then.
Tumblr media
And oh, hey! A shot of Yang, dodging Mercury’s attack, and not deliberately taking a hit to fuel her semblance. It’s almost as if Yang never had a problem abusing her semblance in the first place!- Shocker!
Thing is:
https://youtu.be/moxtu3AuA4s?t=14m8s
Here’s the fight.
Yang begins with a punch. A punch. Against a kick based fighter. She didn’t back away to make sure she wouldn’t get hit, she tried attacking despite the fact it was more likely Mercury would hit her before she could.
She goes onto try and fire bullets at Mercury which I’ll admit was a smart move considering close range was not a good idea with Mercury. He closes the distance and jump kicks her, she blocks then tries to attack which gets her kicked in the jaw.
She then rushes back at the guy who just showed to be able to maneuver around her in close range and proceeds to try and pummel him, which ends as you expect with Mercury deflecting all of her attacks. She then STILL tries to attack him where she misses and has to block (which would logically still cost her Aura).
They then go onto trade blows where Yang dodges twice and blocks once. Mercury falls back and Yang uses her long range attack for the last time to drive him back, he falls off the arena but blasts his way back up.
Mercury proceeds to go on the offensive where Yang dodges/deflects two attacks, blocks about six and gets hit in the stomach once HARD, where he follows up with a Dust attack. He then proceeds to circle around, blasting away without seeming trying to hit Yang while the dust rounds circle in the air obviously. Yang does NOTHING for most of this (mind you, she STILL has a long range attack) and just tries to get in close after two bullets fire in her direction. She doesn’t think to use her lunging attack we’ve seen her use against Junior and Adam despite the fact that if she did Mercury would have fired off less bullets and instead tries to fight him close quarters AGAIN, getting slammed into the ground and the Dust rounds all hit her in a dogpile fashion.
We all know the rest.
Thing is, Yang gets hit and blocks attacks more than dodging and deflecting them while constantly rushing in at Mercury who she should KNOW by now has the advantage as her best showings were from when she was using her long range attacks. She in fact only fired off about eight shots at long range. And yet she focuses more on getting into Mercury’s melee range than staying out of it despite him kicking her ass or nullifying her attacks each time she does. And then there was Mercury’s final attack which she does NOTHING to stop despite the obvious Dust rounds flying in the air.
The only conclusion we can gather is that Yang did this because she relied on her Semblance for one last push instead of treating as a last resort because THAT is the only logic that works here.
And really?- She just stood around and let Junior’s men come to her?
Didn’t seem that way to me. One of my favorite parts was when she rushed the DJ, and beat him down. Which completely contradicts your claim that she waited for them to come to her by about……… 100%.
Ironic given that this is the only original argument that anon made. However, take a look at the footage again. Look how many times she blocks attacks from Junior’s men instead of simply moving backward or ducking. Again, Aura is still be used to protect her gauntlets from damage so it’s still feeding her Semblance. And looking at the footage as a whole, she doesn’t do much actual dodging aside from big movements made to go after opponents (like her big leap towards the crowd of goons or the rocket jump at the twins) and instead focuses on blocking and just getting hit.
She’s still prioritizing her Semblance over survival.
Oh and considering one of your arguments towards Yang’s flaws is that she doesn’t use kicks, good job showing that she does in fact use kicks in her fighting style (for fuck’s sake, she finishes off the blue twin with a kick!).
Another favorite part of mine is when she was seen blocking Melanie Malechite’s attacks when she was confronted by the twins. Which contradicts any claim that she deliberately takes hits in the Yellow Trailer by……… another 100%.
Actually that just shows you don’t know how Aura works, where it is shown to protect clothing. AKA her gauntlets? Blocking still feeds into her Semblance. The only evasive maneuvers that do not are dodging and deflecting AKA the two she uses the LEAST of.
Details like that are deliberately ignored to fuel a criticism of Yang that isn’t there to begin with.
... Dudeblade, if I went through my blog to showcase the number of times you ignored details to fuel a criticism that wasn’t there to begin with, I’d make a LEGENDARILY long post. But I don’t need to since I can just point to the video YOU provided and showcase that you are giving a criticism that isn’t ther eto begin with.
Your hypocrisy negates your smugness.
Go join that Yang Haters group on deviantart. I’ll even give you a hint and tell you that I just gave the group’s name first two words to you. Go join that haven of people who despise Yang if you’re going to victim blame so much.
Gee Dudeblade, why don’t you follow him? They also ignore facts about RWBY and bullshit all over it.
Hell:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You have similar tastes in hate art.
Yang’s fighting style has only changed in the sense that she now incorporates kicks into her attacks, something that would be a valid criticism.
Nope, not true. The Yellow Trailer contradicts you.
But wanna know what the ACTUAL difference is?
Yang doesn’t let her opponent’s get an attack as often and she’s more willing to just sweep them off their feet or attack their legs to put them down rather than just pummeling them. AKA she’s trying to end the fight faster instead of dragging it out.
But it wasn’t a criticism given. Instead, Tai calls the manifestation of Yang’s soul a temper tantrum, and decides that despite him being her teacher, this subject never came up.
Because as your own evidence shows, Yang DOES use kicks. She’s been using kicks since the Yellow Trailer.
Despite the fact that the only time that Yang ever abused her semblance was when she and the rest of her team were fighting Roman in the mech. That is literally the only time we see Yang abusing her semblance in the show.
Aside from Junior...
And Neo...
And Neon and Flynt...
And Mercury...
And Adam...
And the fact that Taiyang gave more than one criticism like her anger needs to be controlled and she needs to think while she fights which we see in the volume 5 Episode 4 fight where, upon being shot at, she takes a moment to survey the area and prioritize the shooter...
Every other time, she was never seen abusing it. She used it to power through Flynt’s attack in the doubles round, and……… That’s about it.
Despite the fact that she should have been fighting with Weiss the entire time and was getting her ass handed to her by Neon.
There wasn’t any other time in the tournament that she could have abused it as far as we were shown, so Tai’s comments are a case of them telling us the information, rather than showing us the information.
Neon, Mercury, Neo, Junior, Adam. All examples of fights were she would have benefitted from dodging, deflecting and long range attacks rather than blocking and just getting hit. That is the showing.. You just, in your own words, “deliberately ignored details to fuel a criticism that isn’t there to begin with.”
I mean, Tai was her teacher. If this comment never came up, then this wouldn’t be Yang’s fault for not knowing this, it would be Tai’s fault for not teaching it to her. There are no such things as bad students, only bad teachers.
Bull fucking shit. As a former student, I can safely say that is bullshit.
I use to go to school with a bunch of idiots who, despite being a grade above me, was in the same class as me and thought their time was better spent trying to piss me off than actually paying attention. Hell, I thought I spent my time better dicking around than studying or remembering my homework. There are bad students Dudeblade, I’ve met them and I WAS one.
Neo’s fighting style is literally Yang’s antithesis. It’s there to use her opponent’s power against her, and Mercury never used Yang’s anger against her. It was Emerald. Yeah, Yang has an anger problem, but that is what would give her agency. Not Tai being a crap teacher and never teaching Yang to not be so over-reliant on her semblance. Yang was in a tight corridor. You really expect someone to try shooting explosive shots in a closed space?- What world do you live in, where you do that?
The one where Yang tries that exact same thing in the show. Oops.
Also, she could have, I dunno, SWITCH OPPONENTS WITH SOMEONE ELSE?! The doors were not locked as we see in the Volume when the White Fang Lieutennant opened the door and flung Weiss through it. Hell, that same opponent would have made a better match for Yang so if she just tried to go get help from her friends, she could have switched opponents with Weis sand they both could have won.
And once more: Passing Yang’s flaws off to Taiyang does nothing but rob Yang of her agency. Because nothing is ever her fault thus she faces no challenges and thus she can never truly control her own path.No no, everyone else must take responsibility for Yang’s actions and change Yang’s life for her.
And retreat?- Why would she retreat?- If she had retreated, then you would be bitching about how she chickened out like a coward.
Hell no. I don’t call Ruby a coward for trying to run away from Roman in the same damn episode: that was a logical tactical retreat. Yang was being a stubborn dumbass. This coming from a stubborn dumbass.
Or maybe you’d rather she not do her job, and run away?- Who do you think she is?- Batman?- She’s not going to run away like a little bitch!
No, I expect her to fucking THINK her actions through because each time she gets into a fight she gambles not only her life but the lives of everyone around her WHICH SHE KNOWS FROM EXPIERENCE (Summer Rose.)
Was she reckless in that fight?- yes. Was it a result of her semblance?- no.
Was it the result of not only her focusing on her Semblance too much in her fighting style but also her own anger which is known to trigger her Semblance? - YES
In fact, once Yang figured out the fighting style she was up against, she changed tactics. She just changed too late, and got KOd by Neo, and bailed out by her deadbeat mother.
Yeah, changed from “Attack” to “Attack Attack Attack”
Yang’s problem had been predictability, a lack of kicks, and anger. It was NEVER abusing her semblance.
The first of which is due to an overreliance on her Semblance, the second never existed and the third is a PART of her Semblance issue.
Also-That means that everything Taiyang said to Yang in V4 E9 was right since you JUST listed off the things he mentioned minus the non exsistant kicking one.
Congrats Dudeblade, you’ve shot yourself.
And seriously anon. Learn punctuation. It’ll help people take you seriously.
A. You used dashes above wrong.
And B. Hypocrisy makes people take you less seriously even worse.

Sunbeam Citizen Special Report
Welcome to a very special edition of the news -- the Sunbeam Sentinel and the Aphaster Citizen have been reigned in under one label. Omen's label, in fact. After her amazing show of power against the outsider, she has plagued graced the Sunbeam Sentinel with her experience as both reporter and editor.
Without further ado or any additional snide edits at penalty of a sound slapping around the ears, we are proud bring you the latest news from the Sunbeam Ruins:
Much to the rejoicing of the guest merchants who found themselves on the mainland side, the reconstruction of Hewn Bridge has been completed. Traffic into the Hewn City has been constant, but relatively smooth thanks to Margravine Maka's firm direction. The most kindly merchants have promised to return in the spring, but even among cordial merchants there was significant frustration. Making the journey to the Southern Snowfields via Trader's Walk is a time-consuming effort, and many of the smaller merchants will have missed the chance to secure their wares for the Crystalline Gala.
Local Merchant Guilds have had mixed feelings about the subject of the Morning Queen's actions now that it's become so clear she was acting appropriate to the threat. Apologies were, at least in part, issued almost immediately after the southwestern skies were returned to normal. However it was the punishment served that truly restored Aphaster's standing among them.
In spite of being born during the eclipse for the sole purpose of executing a deific grudge against Clan Aphaster, the Lady Judge deemed Ilkilidies' collusion with the Outsider too extreme to be excused. He was banished from all of the Aphaster territories, making him the first exile under the Morning Queen’s reign. Dozen of questions and scores of demands for information have poured in from local clan heads but the Morning Queen remains mum on the subject. What could Aphaster have done to offend the Shadowbinder?
The Outsider in question, known as Hitth, had its wings completely removed. The facets that were the source of its powers were seemingly stored there, and thus, to ensure that it remains unable to regain it by any other means, an even more gruesome punishment followed.
Though the Morning Queen refuses to reveal why or how this will prevent the creature regaining power, she commanded that the skull of the water seer be fused to Hitth. Fletch, the Priestess of Blackened Bones, did the deed. By coating the edges of the wildclaw skull in molten metal, and applying it to the screaming creature's face.
Since then, Katiyana has taken charge of the creature and the Icewarden's chosen has departed the Sunbeam Ruins. Though there was scarcely any need to check given his very vocal preference, sources say he has returned to the Southern Snowfield.
The Summerlands have been quiet since, though curiously the Morning Queen has been quiet. Pleased, but quiet. This has led to some speculation that perhaps going in and fighting the creature herself may have had some manner of side effect.
Local happenings after the defeat of the creature are as follows:
Purpose left the clan as cryptically as she once came, claiming that word of white celestine was something she should take to her homeland.
Augustine, having witnessed such vast and alarming evil, went into the Lightweaver's service. His final words were to his sister, Fletch, and she has requested they remain private.
Camellia's second oldest daughter, Phasmatis, departed gratefully from Promenade medical. Having lived through both the moving of the Seat, and the threat of an Outsider, Phasmatis now seeks a less exciting clan in which to hone her mastery of bone manipulation. It is her hope to turn the power into something she can use to defend rather than for medical purposes.
Qaseem's nerves couldn't withstand the strain of the ordeal. Plague dragon or no, he claimed, all he ever wanted to do was quietly deal in logistics for a well-run clan. Though it was a relatively benign event, being subjected to Hewn City magics by Eos disturbed him--the two never really made up. To have another menace from somewhere even more cryptic that Hewn City was too much for him to bear and he went quietly into exaltation.
Cassis has decided to venture off for similar reasons, though his are a bit more personal. "It's dark enough we've had this happen," he claimed. "But you know it's the knowing that Brightrose would be here singing everyone better that's really taking it's toll. I keep not hearing his voice where I know it would be, and there ain't enough cheer in me to bear that with a positive outlook."
Tungsten finally emerged from her vision hysteria. She is in no condition to actually return to work, but it is the first positive sign for her health in nearly two eons. Because of the coming rising of the Ice element, her mental clarity is expected to make a rapid return. Physical rehabilitation time may vary, but she is expected to be near or finished her recovery by spring.
Techne and the Xanna Guard have recently pulled back from Aphaster--the reason seems to have something to do with Zo (and almost certainly his engagement to Junior--which is so well known it scarcely counts as news). When asked, Zo has insisted it's Xannite business that is very particular to him.
The rift in front of House Betelgeuse has been settled in--by Faded. The infamous and questionably existent denizen of the coven has made the threshold into their personal domain. This has seen the disbanding of the Rift Watch--with Faded so openly protective of the new spirit, they will be all the guarding the rift needs.
In a final bit of news, children have been spotted in the company of the Lady Judge. While it is not uncommon for her to raise orphans, it quickly drew attention--why would there be children in the clan so soon after such a huge disaster? But finding out the truth, no one has been keen to ask too many questions.
They were hatched on the final night of the Time of Silent Moons--which in itself is not unusual. However, the male of the two hatchlings, was born from the Arcane egg discovered during the Exodus. Though no one knows if the female hatchling, Rebis, came from an egg with similarly sentimental background, the effect has extended to her. The questions begged to be asked: Why would such an important egg have been hatched without any fanfare? Why right after such a traumatic event?
The questions remain unasked, and there is a sense of tension about the subject in the clan--particularly with the skull of the water seer having come back into social consciousness. The clan seems to be taking it as portentous--but the children have not proved unusual in any way and the Lady Judge has been open in admitting they will be trained to replace some of the more important openings that have appeared in the clan as a result of Hitth's attack.
Stellaria boldly volunteered to take Qaseem's responsibilities, but her role as Distributions Manager cannot go unfilled and the load of both occupations would be decidedly unfair give the size that Aphaster has grown to. Saber, being already extremely experienced at inventory and vault management duties, is filling the role instead. Apokathisto will be apprenticing under him and if the child proves good at it, he will take the role. The child has shown some interest in the clan’s history, so the Lady Judge has also volunteered that Apokathisto may take lessons from both Dalma and herself and become a barrister.
With the departure of Augustine, House Perihelion lacks a formal Requester. The role might be thought of as easy to dismiss or otherwise unimportant, but the procurement related to Diver's March and the Leyline Gardens and Solar Farms was also handled through Augustine. It's not out of turn to say that Aphaster's western sectors rely on the requester to stay fully operational. Rebis’ personal talents take a shine toward the magical and the Lady Judge again revealed the child would perhaps take on an apprenticeship in magical theory--but not with Ashes.
When asked if this had anything to do with the Tribune of Magic’s recent house arrest, she said “No, but it would be very nice to have an accomplished mage and magical theorist in this clan who isn’t an Arcanite. Politicians get very jumpy and difficult when they believe the combination of their neighbors Archmage and Tribune of Magic are capable of razing the entire territory with minimal effort.”

Vady Reads MDZS - Arrogance, Part 1
An explanation of these posts can be found here
Wei Wuxian is out on his own, having fulfilled the curse’s requirements entirely by accident. He decides to go looking for something really powerfully evil to do his bidding, finds out there’s a spirit-consuming monster causing trouble for a local town, and goes to investigate.
More after the cut.
What’s a poor, down on his luck, recently resurrected demonic cultivator to do? He needs minions! And not just any minions-- the low-level corpses collapsing at his feet prove that he needs a really evil minion!
I kind of love that we don’t know what he wants to do once he has acquired said minion-- he just wants a soldier to “do evil for him.” What’s your plan, Wuxian? You’re unexpectedly alive, therefore you must go do bad things? You had an opportunity to do bad things back in Mo village and you didn’t! You didn’t actually harm anyone! You actually helped protect a lot of people!
Anyway. Things we learn here:
That Wuxian’s sword was likely claimed as a prize after his death
Wuxian thinks he was charming and courteous towards women-- the first positive thing he has thought about his personality
What night-hunting is, and that a clan’s reputation is based on capturing particularly strong foes
Wei Wuxian invented Compasses of Evil, and people still use them and talk about him
Lots of details about what has happened at Dafan Mountain (which won’t remain relevant for much of the story)
Wei Wuxian’s birth name is Wei Ying
That everyone is afraid of Jiang Cheng
… it is very hard not to comment on the first mention of the sword. I know I am trying to do this whole project as if I don’t know anything that follows but. The line about the sword directly follows him complaining about how annoying the donkey is. With what we have learned so far-- what kind of person Wuxian insists on telling the reader he is-- the random swerve into thinking about his sword kind of comes off as “I wish I had my sword so I could kill this stupid animal.” Given only what I have read so far, that’s what I would assume that line was. It feels incredibly out of place if I think about it, but is mentioned so casually that it seems unimportant.
This is my favorite thing about re-reading! It’s why I re-read, re-watch, or re-play anything I really like-- because of casual, seemingly unimportant lines that have so much more meaning once they are given context. Since I am attempting to pretend I don’t know better, I am just going to point out that he thinks of his sword directly after calling the animal “useless.”
Not a lot actually happens in this chapter, but we do see Wuxian being clever again. Some evidence:
More things he invented! Plus his kind of chagrined thoughts about how the ones people are still using and relying on are version 1.0 and not as good as they could have been. I love that-- to the rest of the cultivation world they’re one of the most useful things out there, a must have for any night-hunt… to Wuxian, they’re a vaguely embarrassing prototype.
Gathering information and coming to a different conclusion than the others on the night-hunt
Realizing the donkey wants the apple and using it to make it go faster
He does think of himself as hard to please, liking the finer things in life-- while he is complaining about the donkey, he compares its picky eating to himself. That’s hilarious with context, too. But for now, it just adds to our picture of Wei Wuxian: evil, violent, vengeful, (but actually none of those things-- his first instinct is to help), accustomed to luxury, (but actually perfectly at home sharing an apple with a donkey, even if he does complain about doing so), incredibly clever, felt constrained by having to behave, enjoys being perceived as a lunatic, seems amused at his ongoing reputation and the fact that people still use his creations, courteous to women (apparently).
So, names are a thing, and for a non-Chinese reader, much of it is new and different. We have seen our lead character called Wei Wuxian, YiLing Patriarch, and now Wei Ying. The translator notes that “Wei Ying” is something that only those who were very close to him would call him-- family and close acquaintances of similar age. You would never refer to an elder by their birth name-- unless you wanted to show your disregard for that person. So… people still use Wuxian’s inventions, but don’t particularly think he is worthy of respect? Wuxian doesn’t seem to care-- people are still talking about him, and that amuses him.
There’s a bit here that amuses me because I have started trying to learn Chinese. Wuxian heard the cultivators say “Dàfàn Shān” and assumed it was 大饭山-- three characters I have already learned! So he calls it “Rice Mountain” in the translation, because those three characters mean “big” and “rice” and “mountain.” What it actually is I have to guess (since I don’t have the original in front of me), but given the context it’s probably 大梵山, which sounds identical (even the tones are the same) but 梵 refers to Brahma or is related to Buddha (depending on which source I go to) and that’s why he realizes his mistake when he sees the mountain and realizes it looks kind of like Buddha.
The translator explains this a bit in their notes, but I’m commenting on it specifically for two reasons: I am amused that I already know what he assumed the mountain was called (大饭山) because hey, I know those characters! And because the linguistic ambiguity inherent in a language with so many homonyms is amusing to me. There’s a moment in The Untamed where Wuxian tells the Lan juniors that the sword told him where to go, and the juniors are confused… and it’s because the word for “he” and “it” (and “she” for that matter) sound identical. So Wuxian says “it told me” and the juniors heard “he told me” because context is the only way to tell those pronouns apart in spoken Chinese.
Anyway. Chinese is fun. (Actually, though. Of all the languages I have attempted to learn over the years, it is my favorite.)
Okay, back on topic: hey look! The other cultivators had a run in with Jiang Cheng!
We have heard the name before. We know Jiang Cheng was Wuxian’s shidi, we know they were raised as brothers, we know Jiang Cheng stabbed (but did not kill) Wuxian when Wuxian defected, and we know that Jiang Cheng led the assault on the burial mounds, but despite what rumors say, he did not actually kill Wuxian. Still-- based on what we were told in the prologue, he’s clearly an important person, and it’s probably not great for Wuxian that he’s in the area. Remember Wuxian getting the fuck out of town when Wangji showed up? Jiang Cheng likely knows him better than Lan Wangji. That’s not great for our newly resurrected villain. Too bad he didn’t stick around to overhear those cultivators complaining about him!

Description:
Attention Serious Golfers: The revolutionary blueprint to get you playing like the pros is ready for you!!
AND, For the First Time Ever, You Get the Unique Opportunity to Learn How to Fix Your Swing and Hit Ridiculously Accurate Shots by Using Incredibly Easy Exercises and Stretches, Anyone Can Do!
How frustrating is it to try everything imaginable to lower your golf score, yet continue to fail miserably?
Isn’t it agonizing when your golf game seems to be improving tremendously in one round, but then it falls apart in the next round?
Are you spending countless hours trying to figure out how to improve your swing, yet you don’t seem to be seeing any results?
The good news is…you’ve come to the right place. I can change all of that for you in just a few minutes, as I have done for 106,000 other golfers just like you, in more than 27 countries.
My name is Susan Hill, and I’m a nationally certified golf fitness expert and past President and Founder of FitnessForGolf.com. I’m also a fitness trainer, sports nutritionist, golf biomechanic, youth conditioning specialist and golf flexibility expert.
I’ve had the pleasure of being asked to write for Golf Illustrated, Resort Living and the Junior Golf Scoreboard, and I’ve also published 8 best-selling books on golf.
You may have seen some of my work in Atlanta Golfer, SELF magazine, GolfersMd, or a number of golf related magazines and websites.
You have probably heard me share my wisdom on achieving peak performance in golf in my interviews with ESPN or as a host of my own internet radio show dedicated to golf fitness.
Because of my unparalleled expertise, I was invited to work on the LPGA tour with Jill McGill and Allison Hannah, and oversaw the fitness program at the International Junior Golf Academy. I have also consulted with top college teams including UCLA.
So, I think it’s fair to say that I know a little about golf performance.
Here I am in this photo along with famous putting instructor, Mike Shannon from Sea Island, Georgia, and PGA and LPGA golf instructor, Gary Gilchrist from the Gary Gilchrist Golf Academies. We had this photo taken in Bogota, Columbia where we presented and worked with the South American Golf Federation. We presented alongside the ‘local’ and international superstar Camilo Villegas from the PGA Tour.
I’m honored to be a full-time golf training professional for players on tour, and to also train competitive juniors, collegiate golf teams, recreational players and competitive golfers of all levels.
My real passion, and the force that drives me is in helping millions of golfers like you dramatically improve their golf game by revealing the insider secrets that most pros won’t tell you-either because they don’t know or they are too busy working on tour with some of the world’s best players.
Just because you can’t reach your full golfing potential on your own doesn’t mean you need to spend thousands of your hard-earned cash on a “local pro golf coach,” when you can get the same (and possibly better) results for 0.03% of the cost.
I’m thirsty for new research and information on increasing golf performance, so I buy every single golfing product that I can get my hands on. While some of the other golf products do contain some useful information, none of them quite share the deep knowledge that I’ve gained from studying the powerful connection between your body and golf performance.
Worst yet, some of the advice the other so-called “golf mastery” products give will actually set you up for failure by giving you injuries that will be a detriment to your golf performance.
Reading a few articles in golf magazines won’t set you up for the fast success you desire.
I’ve literally worked with thousands of golfers, and I’ve heard hundreds of the bogus myths that are out there when it comes to improving your game.
The truth is…the pros achieve outstanding results because they use fitness and nutrition programs designed specifically for the game of golf.
Sadly, there are many untruths being told about how to get in shape for golf. In fact, few people even understand the real connection between your body and your swing and how to prepare it for a lifetime of play. And, not just to play golf, BUT playing golf at peak performance.
You Need a Breakthrough Golf-Specific Program to Get You Results, Fast
The #1 thing competitive and tour golfers have in common is that they ALL engage in golf fitness.
Tour golfers wouldn’t be where they are today if they didn’t understand the vital connection between their level of fitness and their swing.
Just take a look at the living legend, Gary Player, otherwise known as the Black Knight. Gary won nine major championships on the regular tour and six Champions Tour major championship victories, and if that’s not enough to impress you, he also won three Senior British Open Championships on the European Senior Tour. He’s 80, and he’s still unstoppable.
Gary trains extensively using golf-specific workout routines which gives him those long and straight drives that you crave.
Take a look at Greg Norman, a 61-year old previous golf champ who is the self-entitled pioneer of golf fitness. Greg trains with cutting-edge workout routines specifically designed for golf. In an interview he snarled, “I’m appalled by people who don’t look after their bodies.” Are you one of those people?
I’m bursting at the seams with all of the examples of pros who train in golf fitness. I could talk about this with you for hours.
Let’s take a look at Tiger Woods, shall we? He was ranked number one in the official world golf ranking for many years, he is one of the highest-paid athletes in the world, and he broke a number of golf records. And, how do you think he is planning his comeback after back surgery? Surprise, surprise, he trains using a specific golf practice routine.
And don’t leave out the young guns! Want to know why Jason Day (The Player’s Championship winner) enjoys golf fitness? He was sick and tired of getting injured.
All secrets of success are visible.
As you can see, it’s no secret that you’re not playing at your true potential because you simply don’t yet have the tools to give your body what it needs physically and nutritionally to consistently play an exceptional game of golf.
I’ve spent the past 10 years studying professional golfers and training serious golfers for competitive play. Competitive and tour golfers aren’t any different than you.
Here’s what all golfers are looking for…(yes, even tour players)
Increase drive distance by 15 to 20 yards or more, although many would be happy with an additional 10 yards (just ask a tour player how important a few more yards would be to their game)
Increase energy levels so they feel refreshed and ready for the back nine. Some even wanted to finish with more energy than when they started! (ever been in a situation where it was hotter than expected, playing time was longer than expected?)
A lean, strong and flexible body to ensure powerfully maximize every shot and feel so hot they’re on fire.
The edge in their golf game so they can be fierce competition for even the most serious golfers (There will always be another level of competition. How are you staying prepared?)
I’ve helped tens of thousands of golfers just like you learn:
Helping you is my life’s work, so I really want to shed some light on why you’re not seeing any real improvements with your game. Here are just a few reasons why the majority of people don’t ever play to their full potential.
Golfers have one very powerful center of force and it’s called the core.
The golf swing relies upon core strength, endurance and proper engagement for any kind of reliable distance off the tee. And, it’s just not off the tee, but it can affect every shot you make leading to the green.
Core conditioning is very important for a golfer because all movements in your entire body stem from the strength in this area.
Wherever you find a weak core, you find a major source of energy leaks in the golf swing.
The core is where the body’s center of gravity is located and where force production begins.
Most people have a very weak core, and as a result, chronic posture problems. Over time, this creates wear and tear on the body. A golfer with a weak core is vulnerable to injury and struggles with efficiency in their swing.
Can you guess the top 3 areas of concern on the body for most every golfer? That’s right. It’s the shoulders, hips and spine!
Most people don’t know the right techniques to activate their powerful trio.
Every great golf instructor will tell you that your body rotates around your spine. It acts like a pivot point in the golf swing.
Without the correct method of shoulder rotation, you have very little chance of getting your arms in the proper position in your backswing and, sadly, this limits your follow through.
Top players initiate their downswing with the powerful muscles of the abs and hips. Once the desired momentum is generated by the lower body, they use their arm muscles to effectively “fine tune” the swing.
Recreational players, on the other hand, use their arm muscles right at the outset. As a result, they are unable to recruit the latent muscle-power in their lower body, while the arm muscles work extra hard both to power and guide the club. No wonder it leads to an inconsistent swing!
Every golfer is continually in search of that elusive feel of the perfect swing. Books are written on the topic. Instructional videos promising the “secrets of the perfect swing” sell like hotcakes by mail order and on the internet. Everyone everywhere wants to know what they need to do to swing like the pros.
The truth is you’ve been lied to…
There is no “perfect swing” – at least there’s no one method for achieving it.
If we’ve learned anything from years of watching professional golfers showcase their skills in tournaments around the world, it is that the “perfect swing” varies from player to player.
That doesn’t mean the cause is lost and you’ll never find “that” swing. It just means that you have to find “your” swing.
One of the most important components of a good golf swing is your posture at address. If you have poor posture, your search of the perfect swing becomes more challenging.
Once you learn how to start building strength in the right areas, good golf posture will come easy. Then, you need to build endurance so you can repeat the same winning swing, over and over again.
Golf nutrition is among the most important things you should look after. Do you know it is one of the main culprits of a disastrous back nine?Poor nutrition affects mental focus and judgment as well as energy management. One minute you’re playing fine and you have a good eye for the target. Next you know, your game is falling apart hole by hole, even stroke by stroke.
You will never play to your true potential if you don’t learn how to eat like a champion with a solid golf nutrition program.
Some golfers need a simple stretch routine they can perform a few days a week. Other golfers may need a short duration strength and stretch routine.
But, sadly, most golfers don’t even know where to start.
I’ve noticed from the thousands of golfers I’ve trained through the years, the golfers who need training the most are not always the ‘obvious’ ones. For ages, overweight golfers have gotten a bad rap. So, everyone thinks when we talk about training, we are only talking to golfers who need to lose weight.
This couldn’t be further from the truth…
It is tall, skinny golfers with tight shoulders who are incapable of achieving peak performance. It also includes golfers with a history of injuries and problems related to the way they swing the club.
If you want to have superior golf performance, you MUST adhere to a golf-specific program developed by a peak performing golfer. Period. And there is no reason to be in the gym all day and sometimes, not at all.
You must learn from someone who understands what works and what’s right for your body and your improvement on the course.
Due to lack of knowledge and experience, the trainers you are working with are not only hurting your game, but they are creating injuries that you see creep up out of nowhere.
Well, the truth is you couldn’t … until now.
The problem is that the handful of guys (and gals) that can actually help you are too busy working with players on tour. Then, of course, you have regular personal trainers who don’t know anything about the game of golf, and have zero experience working with the pros.
No matter what they promise, they can’t deliver the results you’re after.
After speaking with thousands of other “golf pros” and reading hundreds of golf products, I came to the sad realization that nobody is offering my unique and specialized knowledge to you.
Personally, I’ve trained 106,000 golfers get the results that they never dreamed possible in 27 different countries but I don’t want to stop there.
So, in order for me to help you, and help as many people as possible improve their game dramatically, I developed a proven digital coaching system that is guaranteed to have you shooting lower scores instantly. Oh, and by the way, to make sure you’re as comfortable as possible, I assume all the risk!
Introducing Body for Golf…
With this program, you’ll burst through your past plateaus and start playing better than you ever imagined possible.
Gone are the days of immense frustration when you know you’re playing well below your real potential.
I know what you’re thinking, but no, this isn’t another one of those horrible 60-minute cardio programs that turn you into a robot or a bodybuilder getting you ripped and tight across your shoulders and chest which only hinders your golf game.
The Body for Golf Program gets you playing superior golf, and finally getting the scores that you want, FAST. This is the program that is going to build you that coveted lean, athletic body built specifically to insanely improve your golf performance.
This program is designed for golf performance. It is not for hackers.
No offense to any hackers out there, we were all hackers at some point. But, hackers don’t really want to improve and they are usually unwilling to do the extra things that good golfers like you are willing to do in the name of playing better golf.
It Only Takes a Couple of Hours to Get You Playing to Your True Potential!
With only three short duration sessions per week (that’s just a few hours total!), you’ll burn fat, build muscle and sculpt your body like never before, and play dramatically better on the course so you never have to be embarrassed by poor scores again!
The Body for Golf Program is a six-week program specifically designed to increase your drive distance, reduce your handicap and get you the stunning body you crave.
For the real, action-taking golfers who are tired of complaining and ready to start this life-transforming program, here are just a few insider secrets you’ll uncover when you invest in your golf performance NOW:
The Body for Golf Program is 100% Guaranteed to Work For You, Even IF…
Nothing makes me happier than waking up every day to a swarm of emails, texts, facebook messages, cards, and gifts from serious, action-taking golfers who invested in my game-transforming program.
They were wise in knowing they would never achieve the scores they knew deep down they could have if they tried to go it alone.
Here’s a small sample of some of the golfers that I helped who started out just like you and are now consistently playing at their true potential:
Meet Michael…What I learned during this period was that my flexibility was super poor. Even though I knew a lot about some parts of being in shape – when it came to golf – I couldn’t do it on my own.
I began looking for a program to get me to the next level.
Guess what happened 6 weeks later?
“My Shoulder Turn Improved about 30-40% At Least!”
I really got a lot more flexible. My shoulder turn improved about 30-40% at least. My hip rotation really improved also. I learned that my glutes, hip flexors, and hamstrings had a whole lot more to do with golf than I had ever imagined.
I had never viewed stretching as a way to make my body feel better and or feel more alive. I had always viewed stretching as something to warm up with. The wholeness of stretching improved my wellness feeling immensely. I just feel better now – bottom line.
Meet Kathy…I’d like to play better golf. I have a pretty good swing, but not lots of distance. I putt pretty well and it saves me a lot of grief, but I think I can play better than I always do. Some days I shoot in the mid 90s and other days it’s not so good. I want consistency and I believe with better fitness I would be.
I think you should choose me because there a lots of older women out there playing golf and we’d like to not be ignored for younger and perhaps what you folks might think more interesting projects. It’s important for older men and women to keep active and golf is one of the greatest ways I can think of to do that.
“The Exercises Have Really Helped with Turning All the Way Through”
Just a note to let you know how thankful I am. Luckily our weather is still pretty nice and we played golf today. I’m still doing all those great exercises and they’ve helped a lot. I’ve been working on a better follow through, so I’m not hitting it to the right so much. The exercises have helped me with turning all the way through.
Meet Heather…I am 18 years old from Fort Worth,Texas. I just graduated from high school and am going to college in the fall on a golf scholarship. I know fitness can greatly help my golf game, I just need more guidance. I am a six handicap and my ultimate goal is to help my team win a conference championship. Also, I have strength issues due to building up some muscles and not others.
Heather, Handicap 6, Age 18
Guess what happened 6 weeks later?
“My Abs and Low Back are Stronger than Ever so I Don’t Have to Swing as Hard”
I’ve been having some hip-related issues that have significantly limited my golf game. Previously, if I had played golf I could not finish 18 holes due to the exhaustion in my hips and hip muscles. However, five weeks into this program I went out and played 18 easily and with very limited pain. The stretches really helped loosen up my hips and the strength program helped rebuild the muscles that previously fatigued surrounding my hips.
Rebuilding the muscles that I have previously worn out has allowed me to return to the sport I love!
Overall just the general feeling of health I have gained from this program is really amazing. My abs and low back are stronger than ever so I don’t have to swing as hard to still be able to get the results I need.
Meet Stephen…I am ready to play the best golf of my life. You can see from the pictures below that I have already made the commitment to my body. I have lost 50 lbs and have kept it off for a full year. My plan is to continue my commitment for the rest of my life and as a by product, improve my game. My goal is a single digit handicap.
And, the result, 6 Weeks Later?
“I Have Been Striking the Ball More Crisply…with Greater Flexibility in My Hips…”
I found my core strength improved. This was evident in my increased ability to stay stable in my lower body during the backswing and the initial transition move. I have been striking the ball more crisply.
I have experienced greater flexibility in my hip pelvis region. I am hitting the ball higher than I have in quite some time.
Meet JP…In order to improve my golf, I recently took some golf lessons. Guess what, they have modified part of my swing. I know practice will most probably bring the results I am looking for. Yet my new and improved back swing has created back and side muscles pain, every time I play a round. I suppose at a certain age the body does not always follow the mind.
After reading the article on the trial, I saw the solution for my body to catch-up. I can assure you that I will be very motivated to test the training. The once a week golf requires a healthy body and you can count on me to follow the instructions you will provide.
Golf season is short in Canada and therefore I am anxious to get going.
“I Can Definitely Confirm that I Make a Better Shoulder Turn Resulting in an Increase in Drive Distance”
I can definitely confirm that I make a better turn which has resulted in an increase in my driving distance (avg. 7 to 10 yards). I also feel less tired at the end of a round resulting in less mishits and more consistency overall.
Overall better resistance and flexibility. My legs are less tired at the end and I can maintain my rhythm. I also have less back pressure or pain (when putting) and seem to be recuperating faster from the efforts.

Introvert
I am eight years old. The window in my classroom, adorned with squishy gel snowflakes, is the only thing protecting me from the swirling storm of silver outside. I want to stay inside, within the comfort of my cozy classroom, and read a book during recess. I ask my teacher if I can stay inside, and she asks why. I tell her I want to read. “Danielle,” she begins, “Is everything alright? Are you dealing with any friendship issues right now?” No, I say, I just want to read. I am confused why my desire to read equates to having friendship problems.
I am nine years old. My teacher lectures our class about how we should include everyone at recess, especially if we see someone playing by themselves. One girl raises her hand says, “Danielle plays by herself! Do you want to play with us?” “No.” My reply is greeted by gawking faces and offended eyes. “...I like playing by myself,” I promptly explain. It’s true; in fact, I love playing by myself. I am confused why enjoying the pleasure of my own company is considered peculiar.
I am fifteen years old. My friends plan some sort of social gathering every other week: bowling, dinners, bonfires, etc. Eventually I realize how tiring it is to interact with ten or twenty people for several hours straight. “Danielle, why aren’t you coming tonight?” my friends always ask me. I quickly learn to invent plausible excuses to justify my absence because somehow, without ever being told, I know of the unwritten rule: “I don’t want to go” is never socially acceptable. I am confused why “I don’t want to go” is not an appropriate response. Now, I am sixteen years old and I have come to terms with the fact that I am an introvert. No, it does not mean I’m overwhelmingly shy, and no, it does not mean I’m a hermit. Introverts can be overwhelming shy and can be hermits, but these words are not synonymous. Introvert means I recharge by being alone, as opposed to extroverts, who recharge through social stimulation. Think of a cup. Imagine that everyone has their own cup; the liquid inside represents their energy. Social interaction fills extroverts’ cups while depleting introverts’ cups. Most of the time, I’m happy to distribute the contents of my cup. It’s simply that when my cup is empty, I have to go off and refill it on my own. Here’s another way to think of it. For me, each class period at school is like running a lap around the track. A friend’s birthday party is like running a six-minute mile. School dances are like running marathons in the mountains, struggling to breathe the thin, oxygen-depleted air. (Again, don’t get me wrong, I love dances; my energy just gets exhausted when the night is barely half over.)
Some of my extroverted friends have told me they are hurt when I say I’d rather spend a day at home, alone, instead of attending the party they’re hosting. But as truthful as I can be, it’s not you, it’s me. Maybe it’s not that I hate you... maybe it’s because I’m tired. I love spending one-on-one time with my friends more than anything, but I dread being in the middle of a crowd, even if the attention isn’t currently on me. So yes, I would truly, deeply, absolutely love to spend time with you. But not with twenty other people around us. Usually, I don’t mind that I’m an introvert, but I’ve never understood why introverts are seen as inferior to extroverts. Introverted qualities are apparently undesirable and not “normal.” Most people think extroverts are better friends than introverts, and an overwhelming majority of teachers believe the ideal student is an extrovert. Even worse, introverts are often seen as problem cases. I had to transfer schools once because the teachers at my first preschool believed I had a mental problem simply because I rarely spoke. As a junior in high school, this feeling of inadequacy resurfaces like a piercing headache: it intrudes your thoughts and is never easy to ignore. You’re only likable among your peers if you attend every party and hang out every weekend. You’ll only receive glowing rec letters if you excel at small talk with your teachers while also participating in class at least five times per period. Long story short, you’re always supposed to have something to say. Always. Admissions counselors from every college information session you attend will say, “If you’re not a funny person, don’t try to be funny when writing your college essays.” Don’t be someone you’re not, they mean. Ironically they also relentlessly advise you, “Put yourself out there! Be outgoing!” Be an extrovert, they mean. Why is it more acceptable to have a dry sense of humor than it is to be an introvert? How is it possible that society is so ignorant to the value of introverts? In the context of colleges, the bias may stem from the misconception that extroverts are smarter, or at least, more equipped to be leaders, than introverts. However, this is simply not true. While extroverts are generally able to get people to pay attention to their ideas, introverts excel at creativity. While cooperation and group work are also necessary, new and innovative ideas are, more often than not, produced through personal reflection and alone time. For example, Abraham Lincoln, sixteenth president of the United States, was an introvert. During the Civil War, Lincoln didn’t have the advantage of many skilled war generals on his side. He developed the majority of the Union’s war strategies by himself, alone, in the silence of his White House office. Being alone helps us consider the consequences and outcomes of a decision, then choose the best path to take. It is vital for leaders to possess this quality. Moreover, Lincoln’s “Gettysburg Address” was merely two minutes long. He didn’t beat around the bush, he got straight to the point. Lincoln was an extremely inspirational leader, and, contrary to society’s preconception of successful leaders, he didn’t rely on the power of his tongue. At 6’2’’, Abraham Lincoln’s impressive physical stature mirrored his leadership abilities. This gave him somewhat of an advantage despite his introversion, because, if people thought he was too introverted to be a leader, at least he looked like a leader. However, unlike Lincoln, I am a female introvert who is only 5’2’’. My body screams “docile”, “submissive”, and “weak.” According to society’s immutable judgment, it would be difficult for me to lead because I don’t “look” like a leader. Sure, because of my height, I may not appear intimidating, and sure, I may not have the ability to silence a noisy room simply by opening my mouth. My voice may not pierce through the pandemonium of a noisy crowd, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t profoundly resonate in others’ hearts. If I'm not talking, that doesn't mean I don't have an opinion - that's like saying something doesn't exist just because you can't see it. I may appear quiet on the outside, but that doesn’t mean my mind is quiet; this is not strange, this is normal among introverts. Silence is a necessity to us, and when we are depleted of it, we physically cannot talk as much as we normally can. This isn’t a sign of weakness; you see, no matter how talented he is, an Olympic medalist cannot run another race immediately after he finishes a marathon.
We live in such a closed-minded society; since extroverts make up the majority of the world, introverts’ needs are often forgotten. Introverts have an armory full of weapons to fight the war of making the world a better place, but unfortunately the armory is locked up when our needs are pushed aside. Society is missing out on this power when it doesn’t accept introverts for who we are. Imagine how much quicker the world would progress if introverts didn’t have to worry about being socially accepted, and could focus on working in ways that help society, and themselves, thrive.
Because of society’s stubborn refusal to break stereotypes, introverts are forced to conform to what’s considered “normal,” despite feeling uncomfortable. If a child wants to read a book instead of playing with other kids, LET HER! There is nothing wrong with her if she prefers to be alone. Alone time is the air she breathes, so why are you choking her when her lungs are already empty?! She will live the rest of her life believing her ideas will never matter because she is convinced that no one wants to listen to her. She will live the rest of her life believing she could never be a magnificent leader just because she isn’t a people-person. She will live the rest of her life believing it is unlikely she will ever be remembered for accomplishing the unimaginable because all she has ever been told is extrovert=good and introvert=bad; extrovert:good::introvert:bad; EXTROVERT GOOD, INTROVERT USELESS.
She was me.
Sometimes, I am still her. I try not to be her because I know I shouldn’t let other people drag me down, but sometimes, it’s hard to stand your ground when everyone around you wants to bury you beneath it.
And underground, there is no oxygen. I can’t breathe down there either.
I can’t breathe when I pretend to be an extrovert, and I also can’t breathe when I act the way an introvert is supposed to act - quiet, weak, a follower. I can’t breathe because in my heart I know I am made to do more than that. I know I have many talents itching to burst out of my armory.
When my cup is empty, all I want is to curl up in bed and not talk to anyone for several hours. When my cup is empty, I unconsciously talk less and appear less enthusiastic. It’s not because I’m not interested; I’m just tired, and that should be okay. That should not be looked down upon because it’s normal for introverts to act this way.
However, when my cup is full, it’s a different story. When my cup is full, I want to conquer the world. When my cup is full, I can actually decipher my ideas and thoughts and hypotheticals — I always have ideas but when my cup is empty, my mind is too loud for me to hear them. When my cup is full, I can work to achieve my highest potential, ultimately leading me to make valuable contributions to the world around me.
Imagine how different the world would be if introverts’ cups were always full. Imagine if, instead of shaming introverts for filling our cups, the world helped us fill them. Our armories would be unlocked, and we would finally be able to breathe.
Introvert does not mean “shy” or “quiet” or “boring”. Introvert means creative. Introvert means ideas. Introvert means leader.
Introvert means powerful.
