So I've been doodling some more, the heiress lives rent free in my mind, so have some of her and her father (bonus Cleo working at the golf course as a punishment for spending Craig's company funds on designer bags)

TIDUS SMASH

A shrine to the Great Sea Witch sits tucked in the wooded hills overlooking the sea. Day in and out their work and offerings keep the ocean at peace. But storms still occur, and after one rather rough one, a set of mikos ended up discovering something washed up on the shore.

Tidus was what they named him. Even as a baby, they could tell he would grow up to be magically powerful. As well, they knew he would be a force to be reckoned with, considering that baby was none other than a ningyo. The head shaman found this as an opportunity: to tame a 'monster' and use it as an impressive defense mechanism against the darkness lurking in the mountains.

Day in and out, Tidus helped tend to the shrine. Gathering wood, water, and all manner of supplies, there wasn't much he didn't do. Grown under the assumption he was merely human, he didn't question his impressive strength nor his stature towering over his coworkers and family. What he hadn't been told was that the wards and protections radiating from the shrine and necklace had dampened his abilities as a ningyo, for the most part. What he also hadn't been told, was the lack of trust his superior Shaman had in him. To Be Safe, the shaman reasoned, Tidus would never be able to ascend to becoming a full priest. It was too risky to open the door to that much power being bestowed on him, with what he was.

But Tidus' status as 'shrine protector' could also soon come into question. More and more monsters have been descending on the shrine, around the same time after a mysterious, austere man with a bowlcut came to visit the Chief Shaman. Tidus can't help but notice a new interest the Shaman is paying him; almost disappointed to see another monster felled. There's also this...hungry look in his eye.

I believe I've uploaded older voice claim videos for these OCs before on my main blog, but the art especially needed an upgrade, plus, I've been slowly returning to this AU and I'd like to get back to writing for it again (or at the very least, making those little videos I used to make).

Will I ever draw a non-Goetia again? Hmm, only time will tell :P

So new oc idea, this is Cleo Oilcan, daughter to Craig Oilcan, and goes by the title The Heiress. Spoilt brat and woukd fit in with the plastics of the movie mean girls, but if she's your friend she will burn cities down if someone upset you.

So yeah that's a thing I guess.

I read your timeline and the Heiress seems SO cool. If things had been different, if they had been the one to die, what would that look like do you think? Would their brother have taken the Nem questline or handled it differently? (from @neathbound-fiends <3 )

Hi! Sorry I took so long to answer, and tysm for the question! It's something I've loosely rotated a bit for ages but never had the chance to put the answer down anywhere.

I think in almost every world where the Heiress died instead, their brother doesn't come down to the Neath. He mourns them, of course! He mourns them closely, and deeply, and often. He spends long nights at a gravestone with no body beneath and the wrong name carved in, telling stories from his work, both the big and exciting ones and little pieces of officer gossip just as he would have before.

But actually going after them, giving up everything to chase a faint lead to the Neath? There's maybe a part of him that wishes he could, but he's too bound by duty to his family and to his country. A promising young officer, and the family's only remaining son, abandoning his post for long lost London? He couldn't do that, he couldn't throw it all away for only a chance at vengeance.

If he did, though, either because the Heiress died before he signs up or because he has some external reason to be in the Neath anyway? I don't think he'd care about vengeance, but about answers. He'd be much less violent, much less of the Heiress's single-minded focus, but would probably make the same choice in the end. There would be far more points where he would consider giving up, and he might, at least for a time. After all, he's not just down there to solve a murder, he has other duties to attend to.
