i started writing a sequel fanfic for Sleep Less. Yeah, before it's actually done. Honestly though you can consume them in any order, although it probably is best chronologically. It mostly exists as a path from the more abstract album to… yk… an actual fanfic. The album isn't gonna beat around the bush when it comes to telling you what's going on, but you'll have to do some digging a little bit. The fic is going to be very explicit. Explaining things as they are.

This is very obvious but like— total self insert. Well ok maybe not 1:1 duh but I took all the things that I go through and said Scootaloo goes through them too. So she's handling them differently, they affect her differently, but at the end of the day they are the same problems. I hope that makes sense.

So why Scootaloo at all? Why not an oc? Well because OCs are cringe and no one cares about them LOL. If I told you here's Cherry Fiz and he has psychosis and anxiety and has sh problems. Fucking ok? But if I say hey here's the pony you love grown up and SHE has all these problems. You're gonna care more. I think that's such a strong power of derivative fiction. Making you care about stories you otherwise wouldn't. It does a lotta the leg work for ya.

My favorite fanfiction is called Applejack's Tempest. It's about Applejack always wanted to be an actress but gave up on the dream bc family comes first. Anyway Rarity convinces her to be in a play (The Tempest classic lel) and it's really sweet and emotional despite not being all that well written tbh.

If you saw her feeling bad you'd feel bad too.
