Alrighty, here's a proper blog topper/introduction!

Y'all can call me either Shadow or David, whichever you prefer! I'm Avatar_of_the_Lonely on AO3 and I write a lot of agere and domestic discipline fics! Right now I'm working on a pretty big AU that I've dubbed "Little Prince Shadow", hence the new username. Before showing y'all some links to the fics, here's a brief summary of the AU:

The series is set in my own interpretation of the King Shadow arc in the Archie Comics (that I haven't even fucking read cus fuck Ken Penders) that combines a lot of game lore/references 'cus that's what I'm more familiar with. Long short of it is that after Sonic went MIA during the last war with Eggman, Shadow went off the deep end a bit and became king/dictator of the planet after getting his revenge on Eggman, marrying Sally Acorn along the way to help secure an alliance with her family/actually try to keep some positive(ish) relationships going for him. 25 years after his disappearance, Sonic begins working with Sally in secret, and with the help of pretty much everyone but the king in question, they defeat Shadow and reclaim the kingdom as their own.

Most people would execute the tyrannical ruler they just overthrew, especially after so many years of him being a little asshole, but Sonic and Sally aren't most people, and following a grown up therapist Cream's professional advice on the matter, the couple "adopt" Shadow and start reraising him as their baby, all with the intention of having him become king again once Sonic and Sally have passed on (and after he calms tf down and realizes what a jerk he's been).

There's a lot more going on than just that- the other characters' reactions/relationships with Baby!Shadow, Shadow developing Doom Abilities over time, etc- and it's been a ton of fun to write so far! Does it make any sense at the end of the day? No, not really. Do I enjoy writing this very weird crackfic? Yes, yes I do. Without further adieu, here's all the fics currently posted (will be updated as more are posted):

Bow Your Head Low, Here Comes Prince Shadow!: (One-shot - 9k) Following the successful revolution of his ex-wife Queen Sally and her lover Sonic, King Shadow assumes he’ll soon be given a public execution to cement the new monarchy; it’s what he would do, were he in their position. However, he’s treated to a strange surprise when the king and queen announce that they aren’t through with him, not by a long shot. If Shadow thought the humiliation of losing his title and status were too much, he’s in for a whole new world of embarrassment. He’s starting to think being executed was a better fate than this.

Bathed in Heavenly Light: (One-shot - 6k) As the coronation day of her beloved comes to a close, Queen Sally reflects on her relationships with her two favorite hedgehogs and assists Sonic in preparing Shadow for his first bedtime as their baby. At least they finally got the inhibitor cuffs back on him!

Uncle Knuckles: (One-shot - 9k) The transition from power and glory to diapers and coddling is not an easy one, but King Sonic and Queen Sally are more than ready for anything their little prince will throw at them, up to and including his baba. “Uncle” Knuckles, on the other hand, isn’t nearly as patient.

Prince Shadow and the Scary Doctor's Appointment: (Two chapters - 16k) Following his latest escape attempt, Sonic and Sally decide that Shadow is in dire need of a doctor’s visit to see what they can do to make his transition to becoming their infant less tenuous. Unfortunately for the couple, Shadow is hiding some pretty severe trauma around his experience with doctors, and they’ll have to be quick on their feet if they want to keep their boy from being traumatized (again)!

Nightmare: (Two chapters - 28k) When night falls and Shadow is finally given some privacy in the form of rest, he finds that his dreams are far more horrific than anything the waking world can offer him. Lost in a sea of trauma and regrets, he runs the risk of drowning, but as he must someday learn, there is always a light, even in the darkest of nights. If only he knew just what was waiting for him in that darkness.

Most Corporal of Punishments: (One-shot - 16k) The chief commander of G.U.N, Commander Abraham Tower, has been trying his best to be patient with his wayward agent Shadow, self-aware enough to know that his fuse is shorter with him than most, but when Shadow runs away for several days without so much as an explanation for his actions, he decides that it’s about time someone put Shadow in his place; namely, over his knee. If only he knew what he was getting himself into…
