something to add to this as well: it'd make william's reaction to seeing mike's last name make more sense as well. not only is this a relative of one of his victim's, but his own relative that he's aware has a little sister. the ones he already has his wife set after. he'd have both of them in his clutches. & it adds a lot more intrigue with the odd reaction he has to mike's last name bc really... why would he care to remember it or be that offput by it otherwise?

theory:

mike & abby's aunt is mrs afton, thus why she looks so similar to vanessa & also would make it so mike is still technically an afton without being william's son in the movie universe

#he was never caught he has no reason to be so panicked by mike's last name #but if he's reacting to it w this kinda further context it makes sense #he's not anxious abt getting caught. he's anxious abt having tp contain his giddiness #that he probably assumes in that moment means there's no way he can lose when he his wife & his daughter #all have a grasp on mike & abby. like he'd just be seeing them fall into his lap for free u know #idk i hope im right bc it'd give him some depth #& imagine the character arc for mike too #knowing his brother wasn't taken by some random guy but their own uncle #& he redeemed himself in a way even further by keeping abby safe #i think it'd be rly compelling stuff to explore in the sequel #fnaf #fnaf movie
