One of Omega's hobbies is just following people around.

Watching what they're doing. Interrupting with questions. Or going off on tangents of his own about whatever's on his processor, just as long as somebody's around to listen (or he follows them and forces them to listen, lol). He doesn't get a whole lot out of being alone and struggles to entertain himself when he has to be (there's only so many times he can run DOOM before it gets old) so his usual game plan during downtime is to get people to pay attention to him.

And it's not just with people he knows; he will go up to strangers that catch his attention and do this with no sort of introduction or prompting as well. He doesn't care if he's bothering them and he considers it a win if he scares them.

The variety and mundanity of tasks he's willing to watch is absurd. Rouge keeps a record: she's caught him watching everyone from grocery workers restocking shelves to someone playing an instrument in the park to Cream drawing doodles. That's not to say he has a lot of respect for some of these tasks- he told the musician, after an hour of watching her play and asking questions about it, that she was wasting her time, for example -but the fact that he still gives them his attention is interesting to say the least.

When asked about this strange little hobby, he'll say that he's collecting data to better his capabilities. Rouge usually gives a snarky retort along the lines of "how's knowing how a grocery store works gonna help you kill people?"*. Shadow, however, likes to make lists for him of other people or things to check out, such as the bakery down the street or a new city park he's found. Omega tears up these lists, insists that he's not taking suggestions, and then show up at some of the places Shadow recommends anyway.
