#is he GOOD at protecting people and taking care of them? questionable. depends on the point of his life.#but. he tries. he always tries.#he's kinda rough around the edges about it. flipflops between gentle and tough love.#he's a lot sharper and meaner about it when he's younger (esp as a teen). i like to think he mellows a little and gets better at it into hi#twenties. and certainly into his mid/late twenties and early thirties when he's free and actually has the space to start healing.#anyway i'm rambling. i love bj's resilience and how he fights to heal despite how often he stumbles.#out of fairy tales [ooc];
