though born of noble Lazarian blood, Astraeus lacks a startling amount of their finesse. he can best be described as fanatical in his almost-obsession for the one the angels call 'god'. due to his blinding devotion to 'god', it was precisely why he was chosen to protect Eden alongside his sister. on the outside he appears mild mannered and quite coordial. he is open to any and all who wish to interact with him and treats them in a gentlemanly manner. however, behind the scenes he hides a gruesome secret shared only moments before his victim's death. his obsession with 'god' is quite peculiar, and is strengthened to the point one might almost think he wants to be god... or devour the current one. who's to say?

seen almost always wearing a priestly attire as well as a gold-painted crucifix necklace. a pair of tiny angel's wings are sprouted on either side of his head -- in reality he has six total pairs of wings over his body, though most humans will only ever see the pair on his head. a scar is carved over his left cheek, a remnant of a battle between himself and an ancient Lazarian demon by the name of "Sae". walks with a cane despite not actually needing it -- the cane actually serves as his weapon of choice as well. wears little to no makeup; his hair is almost always in a braid and draped over one shoulder.

▲  𝐋𝐈𝐊𝐄𝐒❓ his chapel, his twin sister, 'the crux of twilight' ( lazarus' version of 'the bible' ), dim candlelight, reading, violin, solstice's ignorance, easy to manipulate humans.

born to the royal Caedieux as the younger of a pair of twins, Astraeus grew up in a relatively pampered lifestyle. while he wasn't completely spoiled, he certainly enjoyed more luxuries alongside his sister than most angels due to his heritage. as his parents previously served beneath 'God', he was destined to eventually pick up that mantle. however, much to his surprise, one day 'God' instructed him to journey alongside his creation 'Eden' and help them connect with the world of humans. eager to make his 'God' proud, as well as set into motion his own secret plans, Astraeus didn't waste any time accepting this quest, claiming it was 'a gift of the highest honor' and taking great care to follow instructions so as not to raise suspicion upon himself. his motives as well as his strange behaviour are a mystery to all, even his own parents, but one can note that all of this began after he had an unpleasant encounter with one of the twin demons that lived in the city of Gardenia, the capitol of Lazarus. angels and demons have oft lived in harmony, but from time to demon one or the other will suddenly grow a disliking for the other race and attack unexpectedly. nobody but Astraeus knows why Sae suddenly chose to fight him, but in the end Astraeus came out the victor, bringing Sae to heel and making use of him in the future.
