Fluff headcanons! Ishigami Senku

Please remind yourself that we were talking about Senku. He’s the actual science freak who doesn’t know anything when it regards to romance, so how would he suppose to do some lovey-dovey stuff with you? Physical contact makes him queasy, by just holding your hand makes him nervous and awkward. The only cheesy thing that he had done with you is hugging you to warm yourselves because of the cold weather.

Surprisingly, Senku doesn’t mind if you would catch him off guard by stealing a kiss from him or will suddenly hug him from the back. He actually likes the attention you’re giving him and every time you would do that, a genuine smile would plaster on his face.

Then Ginro the brat would witness how Senku’s expression would soften and tease him nonstop because of how soft he is when it comes to you.

Gen even tried to mock the scientist because Senku being in love and entering a relationship was a rare sight to behold! He never imagined him having a significant other due to the irrefutable fact that Senku’s full attention is only on science. Also, he has this own judgment that having a relationship is a mere trouble-prone and illogical. But who would have thought that you’re the only one who could demolish his belief when it comes to love.

Despite that Senku isn’t really good in intimacy; he will try his best to do his part in your relationship. Gen and Chrome even gave him some love lessons and the scientist only shut them up because it’s making him embarrassed. Moreover, these guys are 10 billion percent knowable when it regards to relationship. He was known as the genius guy, but actually less knowledgeable when relationship is being discussed.

Senku is delighted to know that you’re not always seeking for his affection, he was relieved that you understood his part that he’d always be busy and don’t have spare time since he wants to revive the humanity again and rebuild civilization.

But there are few instances that when it’s time for rest, you and he would cuddle under the blanket inside Chrome’s hut. Despite Senku is a prideful man, of course, he knows how to blush,  he will crumble. He hasn’t yet experienced cuddling with someone and being affectionate, it’s making him flustered and he’s still not used to it. But Senku would admit to himself that you’re the reason why he’s always motivated every day and giving him the determination to accelerate their pace to fabricate their next invention.

Senku would wrap his arm around your waist and pull you close to him, feeling the warmth of your body transporting to him. Once he knows that you’re finally asleep, he would land a soft kiss on your forehead before drifting him to sleep as well.

Every next invention that he’s going to execute, he would assure that you’re beside him and teach you on how the things work. Giving you simple details he says, but actually, you’re having difficulties to understand the words that he’d say.

You’re like: “what?” “huh?” “Nani?” “What are these words?”

That being said, you’re the first one he’d inform for his next plan and would always ask if you have any suggestions.

Regardless to say, Senku’s still grasping the ideas of having a relationship, improving himself every day and not giving you the feeling of loneliness. Although you’re not seeking for his affection, he’ll give you simple gestures by praising you or just a pat on the head.

Whenever you two would have spare time, your bonding would be you and him stargazing and Senku would tend to talk about the stars, the moon, the sun, the planets, the universe. Seeing him how his eyes would glimmer by telling you about space, you couldn’t help but smile because Senku getting excited because of it and you could feel how he really loves science.

Ahh, you’re falling for him even harder.

Senku is the kind of guy who’d rarely say I love you. He won’t be the one who would say I love you first; you’re the one who would utter those three words. Thus, he would only say “yeah” “I know” or pat your head as his response, but today it’s different.

Small drabble:

As you and Senku were stargazing on the hut, and him giving you information about the stars, you take a glance at him, looking up with a faint smile on his visage. You witness how his eyes that were supposed to be filled with intelligence and pride, it was now changed into soft-looking ones and longingness. Although Senku always thinks logically, you know deep within him, there is a feeling of compassion that lies in the depths of his heart. Your eyes soften and suddenly envelop him with a firm embrace. The scientist was taken by surprise at your abrupt action and darted his eyes at you with a bit of confusion.

“Senku, you’ve done well enough.” Was all you say before nestling your face into his chest.

He chuckled at your statement and put his right arm on your shoulders. “I barely reached 1.5% of fabricating the technologies we have in our age, so don’t say those words to me. I’m not worthy to receive those words yet, Y/N.”

Your embrace on Senku tightens and closed your eyes, feeling the warmth of him and the soft breeze of the night. “But you’re worthy enough, Senku. Without you, do you think everyone in the village can rebuild civilization and give them those ideas and experience that we have back in our time? Without you, they wouldn’t know anything about science, Senku, the science that you surely loved.” you released him from your hug and swiftly cupped his cheeks for him to straightly look at you. “It’s all thanks to you, without you, this village won’t be lively and Ruri couldn’t be saved. That’s why we are all grateful to you, Senku… so much…”

Senku’s eyes wavered as you say those words, he could feel his heart warmed upon hearing your monologue and Senku would admit, he’s certainly touched by your words. It was enough for him.

“Kukukuku, you surely never cease to boost my ego, Y/N.” Senku grabs your hands and retracts them from his cheeks; instead, he holds your hands between his calloused and big ones and softly caresses it. “But, I appreciate it. Thank you.”

Smiling at him, he glided his hands on your cheeks and pulls it towards him to place his forehead against yours. His face is so close that you could smell his minty breath and you could vividly see how his ruby eyes sparkling like the stars that he have told you.

“I’ll just say this once, so listen carefully, Y/N,” he uttered. You didn’t say a word and just waited for him to finish his sentence.

“I love you, Y/N, 10 billion percent.” Senku’s voice was laced with fondness and his eyes hold gentleness that was an unusual sight to see. Your lips parted and as if your breath was snatched away from you. But the last thing he did makes your heart explode. He kissed your forehead and flashed you a shit-eating smirk.

“Close your mouth or a fly might enter.”

RFA BEACH TRIP PLEASE🌊☀️🌴🐚🌺🐬🐠🦀

YESYESYES (I tried something a little different today, so I hope you enjoy it!)

RFA BEACH TRIP!

Jumin had recently bought this island, that was famous because of their cats. Yes. Cat island. And so because Jumin is such a sweetheart he got everyone some plane tickets so they would head out for the island the next day!

At first, everyone except Saeyoung and V weren’t really up to the idea. But then, when you got so excited and said that it would be so fun to have a beach trip, they changed their minds pretty quickly!

And so, all of you woke up at about 4am, Jumin sent some cars to pick you all up and soon you were all in his private jet. V and Jumin were listening to some classical music and drinking some wine, Yoosung at first was looking around everywhere, since he had never been on a private jet before, but a few minutes later he fell asleep on his seat, next to Zen, who was complaining loudly to Jumin, about how waking up at this hour was stupid, and that he only agreed to go because you were going.

Jaehee was watching some of Zen´s DVD in the background, Saeyoung was loudly singing to some music (you joined him lmao) which made Saeran groan and put on his headphones at full volume, trying to ignore his way too energetic twin.

You smiled as you looked at everyone in the RFA. This would be so exciting!

After you all checked in in the hotel -the fanciest hotel you had ever been in- you all changed into your swimsuits and decided to meet up in a bit.

You all set up on the fancy beach, Jumin and V sitting on some chairs under a really big umbrella, meanwhile Jaehee was wearing a hat and walking around the beach, looking at Zen, who was teasing Yoosung into getting in the water. Saeyoung was building some sand cats, yes, sand cats and Saeran was standing awkwardly on the side, not really knowing what to do.

This was going to be awesome!

Zen:

After traumatizing Yoosung for a bit, Zen called you over to get into the ocean with him. You smiled and grabbed his hand, as the both of you walked along the water, happily chatting. “I have to admit, even though I can’t stand that jerk, this beach trip was pretty nice. We haven’t all gone out like this in a while.” He said, while looking at all the RFA members, a big smile in his face. But then he turned around and pulled you closer to him, running his hands up your sides. “Although it is making me a bit jealous that they all got to see you in your swimwear like this. You look amazing.” A seductive smirk appeared on his face and Zen kissed you, and you both stood there, holding each other.

Until a big fucking wave got you guys and everyone laughed at the both of you. “THAT'S WHAT YOU GET FOR BEING ALL LOVEY DOVEY!” Yoosung yelled, and Zen glared at him. Apart from that the beach trip was awesome, and you enjoyed spending time with Zen!

Yoosung:

So, he wasn’t really a big fan of the ocean, but he liked the swimming pool! Yoosung and you had a swimming contest! And you ended up winning by a lot lmao. Afterwards you both made your way around the beach resort, admiring how fancy everything was.

Until you got lost. Yeah that wasn't good at all.

You both walked along for hours trying to find everyone else. And you didn’t succeed. At one point it had become night, and you were both back at the beach, holding each other’s hands. “I’m sorry Y/N. If I had just stayed with everyone we wouldn’t be in this predicament.” You shook your head and caressed Yoosung’s cheek. “It’s alright Yoosung. I had fun, to be honest! I love spending time with you.”

As Yoosung became red in the face, you saw a bright light and a loud bang followed right after. Fireworks!!! The two of you screamed happily and ran over to get a better view, and Yoosung wrapped his arm around you, giving you a forehead kiss.

It was absolutely adorable, and even though Saeyoung later teased the crap out of you two, you really enjoyed it!

Jaehee:

“Y/N? Are you alright? Why are you so red in the face, oh! Don’t tell me you have a fever! Let me check!”

You blushed even more as Jaehee placed the back of her hand in your forehead, and you nervously chuckled, gently pulling it away. “Uh. It’s alright Jaehee. I-I just got distracted for a bit haha, anyway! Look at those seashells!” You quickly made your way to the shore, trying to hide your flushed face. When you saw Jaehee in a very cute two piece swimsuit you felt as if you were about to die. How could she look so freaking hot yet adorable at the same time?! You were just speechless.

Jaehee slowly followed you and helped you picking up shells. You both laughed as Seven tackled Yoosung in the water, while Zen was screaming loudly at the both of them for getting his beautiful face wet!

Soon enough you and Jaehee had picked up enough shells, and you placed them in a little bucket. Then, Jaehee grabbed your hand and led you to the water, where you were both looking at the beautiful sunset. Everything was perfect.

Until you felt a splash of water hit your face. You dramatically gasped as Jaehee giggled, and splashed some more water in your face. Before you knew it, it had become a water battle between the two of you, and you enjoyed it greatly! Jaehee kept running around and giggling the whole time, even when you grabbed her by the waist and carried her up, spinning her around.

When you came home from the beach, you both took the seashells and made them into a frame, and you put your favorite picture of the two of you together.

She really enjoyed spending the whole time with you, and she would love to do it again!

Jumin:

When you came to the beach, you made your way to Jumin and sat beside him, while talking to him and V, who had a huge smile on his face.

“Thank you for the trip, Jumin. It’s been a while since all of us travelled like this, together. I never thought we’d go out again ever since Rika passed away. But now, thanks yo Y/N, we’re able to do this again.” You blushed and shyly smiled at V.

Jumin didn’t really like to go and swim in the ocean, but you two decided to build some sand castles, since apparently he had never done that before. It all started as an innocent competition, until Jumin literally started making blueprints and measured everything so his sandcastle could be perfect!

And it was :D

Afterwards, you both went to your room and you changed into some clothes that Jumin had bought you. He escorted you to a really fancy restaurant in the place, and he got seats near a balcony so you could look at the sea while you ate. It was absolutely beautiful, the wind rustling his hair a bit, and everytime he looked at you and smiled, god, was he trying to kill you?

At one point Jumin grabbed your hand and kissed it, looking at you with eyes full of love. 

¨Thanks to you we're able to go out like this now...you've done so much for us, and you don't understand how lucky I feel to be here with you, right now. I love you, Y/N.¨

You both had an amazing dinner, and after the trip Jumin would sometimes take some days off so you could go there again.

Saeyoung:

He was so thrilled to go to the beach with you and his brother!

Honestly, he had never felt so happy in his life!

Then you saw that there was a place where you could rent surfing boards! And holy crap you both had never ran so fast to a place before.

The two of you tried (and failed miserably) to surf. Saeyoung had actually gotten the hang of it pretty quickly, but you kept getting distracted!

He just looked so handsome with his hair all wet, and pulled back a bit so it wouldn’t get in his way. And when he surfed he looked so fucking good.

At one point you bit your lip, and when Saeyoung saw the way you were looking at him he led you to a nearby bathroom.

After the both of you and back, and played some pranks on Yoosung, you decided to go and....LOOK FOR THE CATS! That was honestly one of the only reasons why he agreed to wake up that early and everything!

You both made your way around the little town that was near Jumin’s resort, and you soon found cats everywhere. They were so fucking cute holy shit.

The rest of the trip you took a bunch of pictures, sometimes with the cats and sometimes with Saeran (who was acting as if he didn’t want to be here but he was having a hella good time.)

One night Saeyoung led you to the roof of the resort and kissed you.

¨I love you so much Y/N. Thank you for everything.¨

When you come back Saeyoung promised you that you will go on trips more often now, and he just can’t help but smile remembering the good things that happened.

Bonus:

“How many times did we tell you to NOT DO IT?!” Zen screamed.

“This is not how I thought I’d spend my time. I’m leaving to see how Elizabeth the third is doing.”

“No you don’t, you jerk! You have to stay here with the rest of us.”

“Lololol Yoosung I never thought you’d actually do it!”

“Luciel this is partially your fault too, you were the one who urged him to do it, so you’re to blame too. If you hadn’t thrown your food it wouldn’t have been this bad.” Jaehee glared at Luciel, and he quickly hid behind you.

“AGHHHH Y/N SAVE ME!! That gaze almost turned me to stone, brrr so scary!”

“It’s your fault you idiot. You should’ve realized by now that Yoosung is dumb enough to fall for those stupid tricks of yours. Besides you didn’t even tried to help him, you made things worse!”

“Aghhh! Not you too Saeran! My own brother!! Everyone is against me right now, hey V, help meeee!!!”

“Well Luciel....if you hadn’t even dared him to jump in there, we wouldn’t be here right now...so I’m afraid I’m going to have to agree with Jaehee on this one.” V laughed nervously.

“SEVEN I SWEAR IM NEVER FORGIVING YOU FOR THIS!” Yoosung yelled.

You may be wondering, what the hell happened?

Seven did.

Let me explain.

You were all eating lunch, when Seven dared Yoosung to go and jump into this little pond (that was made because of some rocks) to grab some crabs. It was going fine, until a whole bunch of them decided to go against Yoosung, and they started pinching him everywhere, so Yoosung quickly got out and started screaming.

Zen was about to help him, when Seven threw his sandwich at Yoosung while yelling YEET and NATURAL SELECTION DO YOUR THING, making some seagulls who were passing by, go and attack Yoosung.

Then Yoosung fell in a sand hole that you and Seven had made before near the shore, it was really deep, and when the crabs and seagull were finally off him, a fucking little octopus appeared and decided to latch onto Yoosung’s head.

Seven just laughed while Zen and Jaehee tried to get the octopus off, Jumin was sighing like a disappointed parent, and Saeran was actually smirking.

Meanwhile V had tried to go and help, but he went to the wrong place because...well he can’t see, so he was touching a palm tree while yelling for Yoosung.

And that’s how Yoosung became traumatized for life!

But it was honestly so funny lmao

Later when you’re all in the restaurant Seven orders some octopus on purpose to traumatize Yoosung even more.

And that’s why, kids, you should never go and pick up crabs because Seven dared you to.

Ren: Makoto, you sure you wanna play Mario Party for our date today?

Makoto: (Smiles Softly) I don't see why not. Plus, it has been a while since we actually play one together.

Ren: True. But you do know that this game can and will get hectic down the road, right?

Makoto: Eh. I'm sure it won't go too crazy this time.

First Turn....

Computer playing as Wario obtained a Star hiding inside the Hidden Block on screen.

Ren/Makoto: WHAT?!!!

Makoto: Are you serious right now?!

Ren: (Shook his head Slowly) He didn't miss, Makoto. He did not miss....

Makoto: B-But....this is the first turn of the game....

Ren: Yep. Told you this is gonna get hectic.

Makoto: (Facepalms while Sighing)

Three Turns Later....

Toad starts going up in and down on his Pirate Ship Costume on Screen.

Makoto: (Drops the Controller and Slowly Place Two of her Hands all over her face)

Makoto, playing as Yoshi, was able to beat someone's record on Mecha Marathon on screen. The number of yards was approximately Thirty Nine.

Announcer: NEW RECORD!!!

Ren: (Eyes Widened) Jesus Christ, Makoto.....

Makoto: (Giggles Softly) Are you impressed?

Ren: Understatement of the decade....Were you always this good on these Button Mashing Minigames or is this has something to do with your Aikido training?

Makoto: Well.....I guess you could say that my recent training is involved in some way. But truth be told.... I'm actually kind of skillful in these types of games. Even when I was younger.

Ren: Really now?

Makoto: (Simply Nodded) Mmhmm. (Giggles Softly) I can't remember how many times I was able to out best my sister in Mecha Marathon alone during those days. I even tried beating my own record once.

Ren: (Chuckles Lightly) Keep this up and I might as well call you "The Button Mashing Queen" for now on.

Robert Hurst commented on the video of Car0l and Daryl that Norman reposted from a fan account on Instagram and he said "She's kinda like a mom to yo---oh no!!!" I'm so nervous that this means C@ryl is going to happen :( I don't know exactly what he meant by it so you have any thoughts?

Hey anon, I’m sorry for the late response. For context, Robert Hurst plays Beta, one of the higher-ranking Whisperer antagonists, and he goes by the username randomdonkeykong on his social media. Last month Norman Reedus posted a C@ryl-centric picture on May 6th and then a video on May 8th, both to commemorate the start of season-10 filming. While I don’t trust the writers anymore, I don’t think Hurst’s comment, or even the posts themselves, mean that C@ryl is going to happen.

For one thing, Hurst could have been joking. We don’t know the full context of his comment, and I don’t know much about him, so this might be on par with his personality/style of humor. More importantly though, TPTB have used C@ryl in the marketing before, and nothing came of it (x) (x). AMC knows that C@ryl is a popular ship, so any social media posts will draw attention. Again, the writers could completely ignore the characterizations they’ve developed over the years, but I’m a fandom elder. I’ve seen this panic come up many times. Anytime Daryl is near a non-attached female character inevitably talk will arise of a romance. It’s why I’m not worried about the C0nnie ship – I remember people panicking over D@rsita leading into season 8 (x).

In regards to the characters themselves, a romantic relationship goes against their established histories, their actors’ interpretation, and the current storyline. Daryl loves Beth, and he will only ever love her (x); C@rol is and always has been a sororal-maternal figure to him. Because this subject has been beaten beyond death, I will direct you to my Bethyl-canonicity tag: x. Below I have also included quotes about Daryl’s lupine-like monogamy and about his relationship with C@rol. NR first described Daryl as being only to love romantically once, for life, back in 2013 and he’s said that up through 2016. (I don’t keep up with interviews so if he said something different after 2016, please let me know, but I won’t trust it unless someone can give me a direct source.) Daryl’s monogamy fits into the lupine and aquiline imagery he’s been connected to as both animals mate for life (x) (x).

I just think it’s more interesting to have these two damaged people see something kindred in each other and gravitate towards each other in that way. In addition, at the beginning of season 7 Melissa McBride explained that C@rol needed time to heal from all the killing before she could entertain a relationship (x). That’s a reason why C@rzekiel didn’t really happen until season 8. I don’t think it would be in character for her to enter a relationship so soon with anyone after her son was murdered and she ended her marriage. Daryl wouldn’t likely have romance on the brain as he is looking after Lydia. If he were pursue romance, it would be someone he’s already in love with, and that’s Beth.

When they pitched Season 4, they were talking about when the prison goes down and having Daryl and Beth be bunkered together. And it’s interesting because I get to see all the cuts and I see all the edits from the director’s cuts onward. And I loved the scene in the kitchen when they’re talking, and I got the sense that Daryl was starting to kind of fall in love with Beth a little.”

“Last year, I definitely felt like there was a really special connection between Daryl and Beth that happened. My take on it was that there was a very deep growing connection that could become something more romantic or could become just … you know that was my personal understanding of it. I do feel like Beth has opened up to Daryl in a way that she hasn’t with other people and I do feel like Beth has never been really in love even though you’ve seen her with the two different boyfriends. I don’t think she’s ever been like, ‘grownup in love’ in the way that you feel like someone actually understands you and in sort of that special intimate way. Jihyun’s AE & Rika’s Behind Story

and the theme of forgiveness and letting go. 

so, this is strictly my opinion, not meant to upset anyone or start arguments - just where i stand on everything at this moment. this game always has a way of making you reevaluate things and reflect more. also, they have a way of throwing major facts in to really turn the story to a somewhat new direction. so, again, this is my opinion - and...i’m writing this so i can get my thoughts organized after staying up all night completing everything. just a warning - this is going to be a very, v e r y long post. 

SPOILERS AHEAD. 

i saw many people complaining about Jihyun not being in his own AE that much. and, i understand that, because they hyped it up by releasing it on Valentine’s Day making it seem like the AE was going to take place, perhaps, after him and MC reunite at the party. but...i think that the way they did it actually answered a lot more of our questions. 

because the main complaint of Another Story was that it seemed like for whoever you saved, the other would be sacrificed. (Jihyun’s Route - they left us thinking Saeran was dead and on Saeran’s Route, Jihyun disappears with Rika & Saeyoung and Vanderwood are kidnapped by the Prime Minister.) to show everything all romantic and “lovey dovey” (as Zen and Yoosung would say) -  with just showing the fate of the other characters as a passing thought, would have really made audiences/players upset too. at least, it would have for me. this route and AE, and just Another Story as a whole, was not just about romance. (just like in the other routes too.) it is about support and healing and recovery and self acceptance. and then romance.

Saeyoung, Jihyun and Saeran (a n d Rika/Mina) are three/four of the characters most wrapped up in this main storyline. with Jumin and Yoosung right behind them and Hyun and Jaehee and Vanderwood behind them. (this is not me rating the characters or saying how important they are - at the end of the day, they are all equally involved in this story and have equal bearing on it. i’m just saying that Jihyun and Mina were at the center of the RFA as an organization and they are the ones who “adopted” Saeyoung and Saeran. Jumin is Jihyun’s best friend/family and, by proxy, Rika’s friend, and Yoosung is Rika’s adoptive cousin. Zen and Jaehee had no previous connection to the situation before the RFA. Vanderwood kind of did by being Saeyoung’s colleague and, later, good friend but...again, he had no awareness or connection to the situation as a whole. the last three became involved later after becoming friends with everyone and involved in the RFA.) but, by the time we d o reach present day with the RFA and the timeline of their routes and AE’s...everyone, e v e r y o n e, is involved and has equal weight in the situation.

okay, but back to what i was saying, the reason why, i believe, Cheritz created “episodes” for Jihyun’s route is the same reason Saeyoung had secret endings attached to his route. there was so much more to uncover, discover and solve. it’s the same reason we have Rika’s Behind Story. there was a lot more to add to the situation. and, why, i believe (and hope), they will do the same thing for Saeran’s AE too. these four characters are so deeply wrapped up in each other’s past, present and future - it is needed to delve deeper. and, depending on which route’s AE or SE you are doing - it IS going to be from t h e i r perspective and what leads to the best outcome and understanding for t h e m. 

Cheritz gave us the option to “Forgive” or “Judge” because of the controversy surrounding Rika. but, also, because of Jihyun. and what was needed for him and his fate. the “forgiveness” ending seems to be the better of the two because it is what truly lead to closure for him (and everyone else). Jihyun took j u s t as much blame onto himself with how everything went down. it’s why he needed time away. to find himself again but, also, do what he could to make up for his mistakes. and he could only do that, and truly heal himself, by helping Saeran. and, in the end, i think being together with Jihyun helped Saeran heal as well. they were both victims of Rika but also carried so much guilt onto themselves for their actions though it was the product of manipulation and/or brainwashing. they helped each other heal. t h a t is what Jihyun was doing what he was for those two years. (contrary to the previous belief that he was just traveling by himself.)

(let the record show that i have not completed the Judge AE, only the Forgive AE, and don’t plan to, this is going off of what other people have said about it.)

so, forgiveness. i think Hyun said it best. he basically said that forgiveness is something you do for yourself and your happiness. i have always believed that. everyone had mixed feelings about everything because Rika is the one who still brought them all together and did do a lot of good. but then...she also had this other side of her that she hid away that hurt so many. 

i think what is getting lost in translation is that...forgiveness is not excusing. forgiveness is something that helps you let go of the past. they never excused what she did. there is even a line MC says about this. “it doesn’t excuse what she did but...” (something like that.) they are not being selfless by forgiving Rika. it was the only way to move on. because by forgiving Rika...they also all forgave each other. Jihyun, Saeyoung, Saeran and the rest of the RFA. 

i believe in all of this. but i am also a person that believes that people can still be held accountable even though we forgive them. while i never endured the level of abuse that these characters did - i have lived in an emotionally/mentally/verbally abusive and manipulative home with someone at the center of (most of) it. and they a r e a toxic person who has suffered from past trauma and current mental illness who refuses to see the affect of their actions and get help. their actions hurt others. when being around them consistently, it is hard to forgive them. but i believe in forgiveness, at a distance, is necessary at times. just because you forgive, it doesn’t mean you need to let them back in or repeat history. it does not mean you excuse them. you acknowledge it and make them accountable. they need to know what they did. but you forgive them too, for you. because how i chose to handle it is that...i don’t wish them ill will. that anger inside of me i felt for so long actually hurt me more. made me change who i was. i recognize that we are not people we need to have in each others lives. for the sake of our mental health and happiness and future. ...and i’m still, even today, working on the forgiveness part. (i would probably need a couple years away to do so too...and i didn’t go through nearly as much as the MM characters did.) but i do think it is something i need to do...for me. just like they needed to do what they did for them. 

so, i do wish Rika had been held more accountable. b u t, in a sense, she was. e v e r y t h i n g came out. what she did and said. what happened within the RFA. who the Prime Minister really was and who Saeyoung and Saeran really were. and, i thought, at first...all of her guilt was just a lapse and/or manipulation. but she was actually feeling guilty - but, more than that, she turned herself in. she admitted she was wrong. she helped reveal who the Prime Minister was. while she did not serve time or spend time in treatment...she achieved self love as well. self revelation, in a sense. but...i know the question - at what cost? and that’s the part that gets me. 

but i don’t think that things would have turned out the same if other things had not gone the same way. as in, if Saeyoung and Saeran had not been brought back together, if the Prime Minister was still after them, if Jihyun hadn’t done what he was able to...she would not have been able to move on either as she did. i, personally, think that it would have shown even more true growth if she had served time (and been held accountable by the law more) in a mental health facility and then came back the other side still with her new perspective and continued going to therapy even when she was out. (but i have read that she was still held accountable by the public.) (and, side note, w o w - the public really came through for the other situations as well.) 

in reality - i just don’t know if this is because of the lack of awareness of mental health in Korea that i have heard other people mention, but another thing that left me with mixed feelings is that...Rika is not just magically better. (while her actions a r e her choices) she has severe past trauma, abuse and mental illness that is n o t her fault that she needs professional help for. this has not changed. so, i did not like how she just went off on her own, to live her own life, without this being further addressed. going along with the previous paragraph, i think a way to properly approach these facts is to show her accepting treatment as well. not just show a conversation with God and then, bam, that’s it. that is not how it works. if religion or some kind of revelation helps you, that’s great. but it can’t be the only step. Rika...Mina is sure to have relapses, is sure to have moments when those dark thoughts come back. she needs professional help and continued treatment to help her learn how to deal with these facts and separate who she really is from them. that is what having anxiety, depression, PTSD, BPD, personality disorders...whatever you feel she has, is about. her symptoms are not her fault, her actions and reactions to them are what she is to be held accountable for. to show her receiving treatment again, as she even does go live her own life, would have been a healthy message. also, again, to show her having consequences for her actions but then still coming out better on the other side would have been okay too. the discussion with God was very deep but even She said that there are things Rika had to do for the sake of the future still. i just hope that maybe ongoing treatment is mentioned for her in the future.  

also, in terms of legal action, if we are thinking about this in reality - what about all the other hundreds of believers she had with her at Mint Eye. where is their closure as well? i don’t know. i also don’t know if maybe there are other things just left out of the AE or Behind Story that have not been mentioned yet. 

but, as a whole, Mystic Messenger’s (and Cheritz’s) theme of forgiveness is a positive one. because while we can talk all day about “what about justice?”, “what about consequences?”, “what message does this send?”, “what about people being held accountable?” - this all comes down to opinion and interpretation. what Rika did was wrong. it was. that has not changed. i have made previous points and posts about her and those still stand. mental illness and past trauma are not an excuse for abuse. but one thing that has changed is that she did try to truly make up for it, even at the cost of turning herself in. she did. is that enough after everything? well, again, that comes down to your opinion.

because there are many who don’t like Mina. and there are people who don’t like Hyun. there are people who don’t like Yoosung. Jaehee. Jumin, Saeyoung, Jihyun, Saeran. Vanderwood. even people who don’t like MC! don’t like their actions, their personalities and whatever else. 

(me, well, if you follow me or look at my blog...i love all eight characters with all of my heart and i have always had mixed feelings about Rika too. i also really like MC as a character too. (but i also have the opinion of, as long as you are not being abusive about it or taking an unhealthy stance on it, you can have whatever opinion you want.)

i don’t think the AE and the Behind Story was to make us like Rika. it was just explanations, more answers, another perspective to truly allow us to come to our own conclusions. we can still think what we think, keep our stances and have your favorite or not-so-favorite characters. this entire update was just granting us more insight into Mystic Messenger’s storyline. and about finding closure in a way that works for the characters and how they are written. 

this game and story is different because they have very serious and deep themes that truly affect players and audiences. that could, hopefully, help us. 

themes of mental illness, emotional/mental/verbal/physical/sexual abuse, forgiveness, friendship, family, trust, recovery/healing, letting go and love. 

so, i will say this...one thing i greatly, greatly enjoyed...was how the RFA really came together and worked together. there were no secrets, there was open communication. they were physically all together at times even, apart from the party. they were there for each other. a l l o f t h e m. the only “secret” in this was the fact that Saeran truly was alive and saved by Jihyun. but they already suspected him to be alive at least, though i wish he would have came forward sooner. but i think it worked out in the end because it showed Saeran able to come forward (more) comfortably and reunite with his brother. Jihyun helped him recover in those two years. granting Saeran the time he needed along with Jihyun, away from everything. 

as Jumin or Jaehee said...“we promised no more secrets” and everyone kept their end of the bargain. 

this update showed so many different sides to all of the characters. Hyun and Jaehee continually trying to be understanding while also incredibly real with the situation, Yoosung’s reevaluation of everything and confrontation of the cousin he so admired, Jumin’s conversations with Saeyoung and how much he helped him. while he cares about his company it came second to the RFA, his family and Saeyoung’s situation. Vanderwood even talking Saeyoung down and being there for him, choosing to protect Saeyoung and, in the end, the RFA as well. Jihyun and Saeran’s recovery process. and, of course, even Mina’s transformation. 

could some things have been done better? yes. should they have taken a different approach to the subject of mental health? yes. should they have left trigger warnings for the AE’s and Behind Story? hell yes. (the one thing i a m genuinely upset about.) 

but, this update brought new things to the table. it is good writing to write such deep and flawed and human characters. because we are all deep, flawed and imperfect. it is what makes us human. again, yes, how some things were handled could have been better. i am not in denial about that. but, overall, i was happy to see all of our characters happy. 

t h a t is the point. how you may handle things in your real life is your choice. and, so, how this AE ended is what brought these characters happiness and closure after everything.

i wanted to see them all together, helping one another. i wanted them all alive and healthy and happy and i got that. and i was overjoyed to see that after everything that happened. 

i know many have their opinions on why Cheritz did this how they did. i know and i get it. but...this is just where i stand. many different emotions/feelings but, overall, grateful. 

my only wishes left are; that the same respect is granted for Saeran’s After Ending. some are thinking there might still be a Rika Route and are still wanting to see a Vanderwood Route. i just hope, if there is a Rika Route, it is handled well and with respect and healthily. and i am one of those hopeful for a Vanderwood Route too with how much he has become involved, especially in Another Story. and, also, that their AE’s, if they get a route, end well. 

i also wish that the other characters’ routes’ After Endings could have happened without any sacrifice as well. 

and, i am just saying this for kicks, but if we get nine Routes, nine After Endings, the Secret Endings, the DLC’s...i would be satisfied. i also am still a believer in releasing a finale. a “Final Story”, on top of this, where everyone is equally involved and there is no one character to be pursued and it is just trying to solve the mystery that is the RFA, helping each character and helping them reach an ending where all of them are together and happy.

but that is still just my thing. and maybe they’ll save t h a t plot for the tv show. ;-)

no matter what...say Cheritz no longer updates after the release of Saeran’s AE, i will still be forever grateful to them and this game. this game has taught me a lot and the lessons i have taken from the story have truly begun reflecting in my own life. and this update was no different.

i love Mystic Messenger. 

it is truly a game so much deeper than it’s surface appearance and genre. it is a bigger story than we thought...and may not always like, depending. but that comes with, no matter what, such wonderfully written characters that have taught me so much and i love with all my heart. 

so thank you, again, to Cheritz and their staff. and for the kind and inspirational words that their VA’s left us as well.

Greetings, sorry for the sudden ask, ummm.... Can you summarize tamago no hi volume 3 please~~? I've read the translation for vol 3 chap 1&2 but I can't seem to find anything beyond that and I'm dying to know what happens after Weiss proposing to platin for them to disappear from the rests for a week.

Okay. I don’t know if you have access to any pictures or not, so I’ll just repost the summary of the whole book I wrote a few years ago. I was at one point working on the spinoff of this title Gravitation (and summarizing bits of this to at least get the story out there; this isn’t my title), but I got hit with the worst luck in the world and developed a lot of medical issues and had to put translating on hold. But I can at least give you an idea of what’s going on with this story. :D

(I apologize in advance if I’m not romanizing the names the same way as you are used to, or if this summary is a little different that what you’ve read.)

Tamago 3 starts right at the end of Tamago 2. In vol 2, after the mermaids, there’s a chapter about Jade. That little baby he picked up (back in the first volume I think) is still following him around and calling him mama. After a big monster fight, Weiss asks Jade to make a contract with her. But something happens, and his egg like, explodes. Or says he’s dead.

Volume 3 opens with them scrambling to get Jade back to the egg source. They teleport using Platin’s power and get there, but Platin collapses from the strain (this is important for later). Jade’s egg is either healed or replaced, thanks to the little baby, and there’s a little ‘good-bye’ moment. :( He comes back out of the egg tank looking like an older man. He makes his promise with Weiss, and is turned out to be a silver wolf (that looks EXACTLY like Koma from Yami ni Toge, tee hee). Platin is worn out, and keeps out of the next monster fight, but wakes up and says “Where is Jade? Who’s this old guy?” and there are some laughs. This is where the 4koma I put on tumblr is from. (When I find the post, I’ll link it here.)

The last 2/3 of the book are a storyline called Privacy. Remember how when Or met Weiss, he thought she was his dead mentor? Well we get to see a little more of that story. The group is having a battle, when Platin seems more worn out than usual. Or is helping him when a monster attacks, but Weiss steps in the way triggering a flashback of Hori, Or’s mentor. We see that Or was basically a suicidal hellion, but Hori made friends with him and ended up giving his life to save Or. Meanwhile, Platin storms off.

Weiss finds Platin in a hot spring, and because she’s a nut ball, rips off her clothes and joins him. She gets freaked out when she sees blood in the water, and runs over to Platin thinking he’s injured. In one of the funniest panels in the book, Weiss feels Platin all over and discovers that he “doesn’t have one”. (You know, down there. XD ) Just as Jade shows up thinking he’s going to catch a peek at Weiss bathing, Platin transports himself and Weiss away to his secret place, the lake where he was born.

Platin tries to swim away and hide, but Weiss demands an explanation (you know, about the lack of certain parts and bloody water). He says no and buzz off, she says she’ll just go tell everyone that Platin is really a woman. Platin explains that’s not the case, but he admits he gets a period and had to get away from where the others were because they would be able to smell the blood. (Remember kiddies, Japan is not afraid of making period jokes on TV or in comics.)

After Jade can’t find Weiss, he goes back and tells the others. He shows them a bloody piece of Platin’s clothing, and of course Or freaks out thinking they were attacked. Or guesses that Platin used his power to teleport them away to safety in Platin’s homeland, and the crew decide to go after them. Or has to ride on Atrum’s back, though, because he never made a promise with Weiss and couldn’t transform (there’s something about promising Hori here, and how they all question why Or lives if Hori died).

There’s a flashback to how Or and Platin met at Platin’s home lake. Platin is drawn without a mask, and looks like a prettier Rakamu (from Doku no Aji). Or notices his purple eyes, and passes out from an injury, noting that his first words to Platin were “beautiful”. Platin explains to Weiss that he is NOT female, but instead an XXY male. There are no women in the dragon species, only XY and XXY. XXY can get pregnant, but there aren’t very many of them (something like one every 20 years). Platin knows that he’s going to be attacked by the XY dragons, and right on cue one does.

The XYs name is Mercury, and he and Platin seem to know each other, like maybe they fought before. Mercury insists that he will take Platin’s first child, but Platin adamantly refuses and they fight. At first, Mercury thinks Platin is refusing because he likes Weiss, but then Or and the others show up. Or wants to know what’s going on, with that creepy Naono smile that says “tell me or you’ll get it”. Mercury starts taunting, realizing that Platin likes Or. Or tells Platin that Platin belongs to him, while at the same time Mercury says “you are my woman”.

Or gets wide-eyed, and says “woman?” right before Mercury knocks Or’s skull open. It sets Platin off into a rage, and Platin agrees to battle Mercury in a few days (for some reason Mercury is perfectly fine with waiting). Meanwhile, Weiss and the others retreat to take care of Or. Once he’s back awake, Weiss explains the whole deal. Or seems depressed, and goes to talk to Platin in Platin’s lake. Platin initially refuses to come out, until Or orders him. Or wants to know why he kept all this a secret, and Platin says it has noting to do with him because they can’t be mates. Or agrees that it’s probably not possible, but the whole time his mind is lamenting how he can’t be with Platin anymore. He notes that their last words were that they can’t be together.

Or then goes into a slump, staring out the window like he’s lost. Jade wonders why they’re just sitting around when Platin could be getting killed, to which Or answers that it’s not any of their business because they’re not dragons and this is what Platin wanted. Weiss flips out, questioning Or if it’s fine for Mercury to rape Platin, and that Or is seriously thick headed if he could go all these years without realizing how Platin felt. Or snaps and says he can’t give Platin a child so he has no right to be by his side. Weiss and Jade squabble over Gaito having babies, and Weiss starts flipping on Jade for forgetting about Rouge, her son (see volume 1). Atrum steps in and reminds her that it’s Gaito -men- who can’t have babies. Or remarks that it doesn’t matter anyway, because Platin is a dragon. Jade makes a comment about how Platin can’t do it anyway because he has no parts (I love the new Jade).

Weiss reminds Or that having babies shouldn’t matter because the two love each other, and Or remembers how he made Platin cover his eyes so that he’d be safe while they travel (I guess purple eyes are rare and can cause trouble). Or admits that Platin is his everything, and the group transport off to save him.

When they get there, they find Platin half dead and about to lose, because Platin absolutely refuses to mate with Mercury. Mercury starts taunting Or (before realizing he is there) and how Platin is weak for holding onto someone who just left him. Mercury says that Or has no right to interfere in the dragons’ affairs, when Or speaks up and tells him he’s right. But he does have a right to interfere in Platin’s affairs, and changes into a golden bird. Turns out he was able to make a promise with Weiss because she got Hori’s egg (I think, it’s a little vague). After a battle, Mercury admits defeat and leaves. Platin is shocked, but grateful. Weiss then reminds him that he is loved.

Two weeks later, Weiss is looking for Platin and finds him being spoon fed by Or. Or is very lovey-dovey now, and Platin is a little embarrassed. Weiss wants to talk to Platin in private, but Or says no, telling her that there are no more secrets between the two. So Weiss blurts out that Platin is pregnant. She goes into a long winded talk about how Platin was still female when Or saved him, and that Gaito sperm are some kind of super sperm that can conceive with other Gaito and dragon people (and there’s an actual drawing of sperm and eggs, more crazy Naono humor). Needless to say the boys are all stunned, except Or who just goes over to Platin and takes off his blindfold. Platin admits it’s true because he didn’t revert back to male right away, and Or just hugs him in what has got to be the cutest panel ever. He then says that above all else, he’s thankful for Platin being alive.

The book ends with some humor, with Weiss calling the two “mamatomo”, kind of translates into mama buddies, and Platin revealing that the baby will take 3 years to be born. They leave to return to Weiss’ hometown, this time making Jade carry all Platin’s luggage. When Jade complains, one of them says “What? Elderly abuse?”. Atrum comments that Weiss smells good, and she blushes and yells that it’s only the soap.

So the two oneshots “Tamago No…” and “Tamago no Hanashi” probably make a lot more sense now. I kind of like how nowhere in the book is it mentioned that the two slept together, just BAM! pregnant. Reminds me of a Disney movie, except with men. XD
