#keios#vinyl tag#opeth#finally got this boxset <333#apparently i got it earlier than the ones they're selling in finland#'cause the owner of my local record store said the boxset is probably gonna come in stock only in like a week...#i kinda accidentally ordered mine from germany 'cause when i first saw the ad they weren't even selling this in the finnish online stores#so i just assumed it wouldn't even be available here#when i checked the next day (after already having placed my order) surprise surprise it was available here too lol#so even though i had to wait a while to get this delivered i still got it faster than if i'd ordered it from a finnish store... wild#every time i went to pick something else up from my local record store#the owner was always saying how many times he'd already listened to the new opeth - last time it was four lol. and i'd only heard it once#and he was praising the sound quality of the vinyl (he said he had the silver variant)#but he hated how much of a hassle it is to read the liner notes - they're those three spirals of text 💀#he said it's probably åkerfeldt's sense of humor lol#i know they've had other vinyls where liner notes have this cursive font which is just impossible to read...#but anyway! i love this boxset. especially the fountain pen. have to try and actually write with it#already had an opeth coin lying around somewhere - it's from the sorceress boxset i think?#oh and i did finally listen to the vinyl! lol#it sounded amazing - even though the records were a little warped it didn't affect the sound quality at all#i still need to listen to the surround mix!! my old av receiver isn't even atmos compatible but i hope it doesn't matter#i haven't even checked if there's a 5.1 dts mix availabe on the disc... probably not#i only have a 5.1 setup and i'm never gonna get more channels#i don't have the money or the space for more speakers lol#but i'm really excited to listen to more vinyls 'cause i just updated my vinyl preamp and finally bought better speaker cables for my mains#and i have so many new records that i've only washed but never listened#like the new mars volta reissues and the two latest gojiras#and obviously i need to listen to tlwat - i've now only heard it twice. not nearly enough times to wrap my head around all of it#there's so! much! going on in some of the tracks (complimentary)
