What if when Harumi brings oni Garmadon back, she Also brings back Sensei Garmadon. He like, sneaks out by following his ‘evil’ counterpart. And since he doesn’t have someone activily fueling him like she does to oni garm, it takes him much longer to find his way. He literally like stumbles into the monastary a few days after the last fight. Lloyd full on thinks he’s losing his mind or that it’s a trick of oni garm, that he’s come back to hurt him again. But he’s still like sore and shit from the fight that ended in oni garm being locked up and so sensei garm looks at his beat up son and is like What happened???

Eventually he manages to convince Lloyd he’s Really back this time. And while he does’t have All of his memories, he knows enough about his past to know that he hurt Lloyd, even when he wasn’t under the influence of the Devouer. He Also learns from one of the others what his oni counterpart Did to Lloyd, that horrible fight in the prison. And That’s when he finally puts together the pieces of why his son is flinching away from him and distant. 

And also, just imagine someone trying to hurt lloyd in later seasons and Both versions of Garmadon show up ready to kick ass. They may not agree on everything and one of them might be more morally grey than good, but they’ll both be damned if Anyone else tries to hurt their son.
