writing fics is so funny because you'll go into something like "should be easy & quick" & then a month later you're in the middle of a deep dive into mustelids & learning that wolverines are criminally understudied

#did you know that badgers eyesight sucks ass & their hearing's not great but their sense of smell is amazing & they can bite through bone #also apparently badgers just hang out with other species all the time. they just do that #also their noises have been well recorded to the point where i've found a dictionary on them #also they live basically how warrior cats live which is kind of hilarious #you could probably replace the cats in warriors with badgers & it'd be more realistic #not by much since it's you know. warrior cats. but still #also for context this is a Danny Phantom fic. Danny's a shapeshifter. he can turn into a badger #he just bit the shit out of Vlad's hand. hence why i'm doing some more quick research on badgers particularly their bite #also to be fair to Danny Vlad deserved it. he always deserves it #the wolverines thing is for an original series i'm working on #the only person who knows anything about wolverines is some guy in alaska that raises them #squirrels outside my window going inside the bbq #okay it left. anyways mustelids are weird. idk what's up with them
