hey friends

please keep my boy Loki in your thoughts. He hasn't eaten these past few days despite enticements like extra bugs and chicken broth in his food, and while I'm hoping it's nothing he also is getting up there in age for a hedgehog (he just turned 5)

I'll try some more enticements like turkey or scrambled eggs tonight and hope I find something he's willing to eat, but this hunger strike is beginning to concern me and I hope it's not a sign of something worse

#he hasn't been lethargic or irritable or otherwise out-of-character he's just not been eating the past few nights #but this is the first hunger strike he's had in 5 years so this isn't like him. usually he'll at least eat the bugs if not the kibbles #if this does indicate a decline i'm grateful he got 5 healthy years bc i know a lot of hedgehog owners don't get that much #but at the same time i'm really not ready for this to be the end for him
