[Appearance] Jade is slightly taller than Pearl, and she has a slim but fit figure. She has white, waist-length hair tied into a ponytail from time to time, a pair of dark green eyes, and mint green skin. Her gem placement is on her left eye, her gem has a white vein visible and is in the shape of a circle.

(Pre-Poofed) Jade wears a white uniform with a a black X that met with yellow diamond insignia over her stomach, her white uniform covers her whole body except for her head and is coloured light blue for the arms and legs. Like gloves and shoes, Jade’s uniform is coloured black below the wrist and above the ankles, she also wears a black belt with the same yellow diamond insignia. She wears a metal headband around the back of her head with a green screen attached to the right side. On the sides of the headband are black diamond insignias, one on each side.

(Post-Poofed) Jade wears a black halter tank top along a pair of navy blue track pants with a white stripe on each side, her waist is exposed, like Lapis. She also wears white socks with sky blue toes and ankles, but never any shoes. She occasionally wears a white coat from time to time as well, and when she’s wearing a white coat, her hair is always tied. She also wears a metal headband that only goes around the back of her head, attached to the right is a moveable transparent green coloured screen used to record log dates and such. But instead of a black diamond insignia on the sides, a black star replaces the diamonds.

[Personality] Jade is a very nervous gem, she is described to have anxiety and doesn’t handle very well under stress. Despite those, Jade is very sweet, funny, and kind. She’s a fun gem to hangout with and Steven loves it when she becomes worried for him and stifles him like a mother, she pampers Steven a lot but knows when to put her foot down. If under extreme pressure or pressurized, Jade will start to hyperventilate and curl into a ball. She mostly hides her negative feelings and use positive ones to mask her pain, but if brought out, Jade will break down and cry ‘til her eye is dry and feels like sandpaper.

[History] Jade, like all Crystal Gems, used to be a Homeworld Gem created on Homeworld. However, she came out as a defective due to her personality. While other jades were calm and collected, our Jade is the exact opposite, because of this, she wasn’t often called to heal others. Before an attempt to attack Earth, Jade was brought onto the gem warship used to for the attack to heal injured gems. Unfortunately, the ship crashed, and while the Homeworld Gems were poofed or had abandoned ship, Jade was left un-poofed and was the only one remaining with her physical form.

She could only hide for so long until The Crystal Gems found her. When Jade was found by Steven, she pushed him out of the way and bolted, but not before apologizing to Steven for pushing him. While running away, she managed to slip pass Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl, and Peridot, but was caught and poofed by Lapis’ water attacks. Pearl then encased Jade’s gem in a bubble and send her off to the temple.

Remembering that Jade had apologized after pushing him, Steven believed that Jade wasn’t as bad as the other may think and entered the temple. The bubble Jade was in was high up, so Steven had a hard time climbing to her height. But Steven managed to drag Pearl’s bubble down with him and popped it, releasing Jade. Jade reforms in the same uniform, she sees Steven but looks pass him and at the bubbled gems in the temple, her reaction isn’t pretty and she freaks out at the thought of Steven and his friends 'harvesting’ her for power.

Before Steven could explain, Jade manage to spot the exit and runs, she climbs the pipes with Steven far behind and runs into The Crystal Gems. Feeling cornered and anxious, Jade freezes on the spot. The Crystal Gems draw their weapons in preparation to attack, prompting Jade to run again just as Steven exits the temple. Jade runs to the exit, but is stopped by Pearl, she tries to leave through the bathroom but is stopped by Garnet, and as she tries to leave through the upper level, she is stopped by Amethyst.

Scared, Jade walks backwards and falls to the ground floor, she lands on a couch and spots the small empty room under the stairs, The Crystal Gems having to clear it out before the Homeworld attack. With no other option, Jade hides in the room and locks herself in by pulling on the door and not letting go.

The Crystal Gems suggest prying the door open, but they are stopped by Steven, who believes they should try a softer approach like they did with Peridot. Garnet immediately agrees and shuts down Pearl’s protests. Steven tries to talk to Jade first, he peeks through the holes installed into the door and sees Jade curled up into a ball and shaking. As Steven tells Jade she was okay and The Crystal Gems won’t hurt her, Jade turns to Steven, showing tears from her right eye.

Jade shuts Steven down by saying it won’t be okay, she then proceeds to tell Steven about her self-doubts and her own discouragements about herself. Steven is then unable to reach her, he asks Garnet to try next, but the fusion came back fruitless. Amethyst tries next, but is unable to reach Jade. Pearl goes next, but she was as unsuccessful as the last three.

The Crystal Gems give up despite Steven’s encouragement, and being the determined little fella he is, Steven continues his attempt to reach out to Jade. Steven uses many different methods to reach out to Jade, playing video games, watching TV shows, reading books, cooking, and demonstrating his adventures and acting out some stories.

When Steven falls and hurts his chin during an act, he finally got a reaction from Jade. Jade gets worried and asks Steven if he was okay, but didn’t come out, and being a healer made with all kinds of knowledge for healing, Jade instructs Steven with different ways of making himself feel better if he feels hurt. Steven says he could just use his magical healing spit and Jade is surprised to hear that he could use his spit to heal.

Jade then tells Steven how she can’t use her spit to heal, but can use her tears and hands instead. Upon Steven asking, Jade lightens up and talks about her job as a healer and her healing powers, though she still refuses to come out of her hiding spot. Steven mentions that Jade’s attire was weird looking and told her she should change it, Jade laughs and admits that she hates the medical uniform and asks Steven for clothing suggestions. The Crystal Gems are impressed by Steven’s progress, but had to leave to fight another gem monster. Steven, of course, followed, much to Jade’s worry.

As The Crystal Gems fought outside, Jade leaves her hiding spot and watches the battle. She is shocked when The Crystal Gems are defeated, and sees Steven desperately protecting his friends with his shield. Jade thinks back to the things Steven had done to reach out to her, summoning her courage, Jade leaves the house and goes after the gem monster.

Jade picked up a long stick lying around in the sand as she runs and attacks the monster skillfully, distracting it from attacking The Crystal Gems. While fighting, Jade picks up one of Pearl’s spears and threw at the monster, hitting its head. But before poofing, the monster smacked Jade and she crashes into a rock, poofing.

As Amethyst was about to bubble Jade, Steven stops her and tells her to let Jade reform.

It took Jade 1 week to reform, she wore a new attire that Steven had recommended and a had a star on each side of her metal headband instead of diamonds. Steven is overjoyed to see Jade, and is even more happy to know that Jade wanted to join The Crystal Gems. Jade thanked Steven for what he had done to reach out to her, she said it was because of Steven she had the courage to even go out and fight.

[Abilities] ¦ “I can’t really heal with my spit. But I can heal using my tears and hands though!”

Jade possesses standard Gem abilities, bubbling, shapeshifting, fusion, regeneration, agelessness, and superhuman strength/durability. She’s strong mentally and physically, being almost as strong as Lapis mentally and almost as strong as Garnet physically.

(Natural Abilities) ●Photokinesis Jade has the ability to project a mint green light similar to a flashlight from her gem. ●Bubbling Jade is capable of encasing items in her own mint green. ●Immense Durability Jade is able to withstand many damages without receiving a single scratch, but her gem is still able to crack.

(Unique Abilities) ●Healing Jade can restore biotic organisms to their optimal health, curing damaged or withered organisms, wounds, broken bones, low vitality, and diseases/poisoning. (Garnet) Jade didn’t really interact with Garnet the first time they met, Jade had slipped under Garnet’s gauntlets during the attempt to catch her and she didn’t reply to Garnet when she tried to reach Jade. Though, after Jade had reformed and joined The Crystal Gems, Garnet became more friendly and accepting towards Jade, even teaming up with her from time to time in 'mom'ing over Steven.

When Jade had an anxiety attack and hyperventilates, Garnet would usually be able to calm her down with a hand on the shoulder and saying that she would take it from here.

(Pearl) Jade’s relationship with Pearl didn’t have the best start, when Steven found Jade, Pearl had tried to slice Jade with her spear and barely missed. But Pearl was the most soft and understanding one when trying to reach out to Jade, despite almost slicing her and protesting against gentle approach. After the battle with the gem monster, Pearl became impressed with Jade’s skill in beating the monster to a standstill with only a stick and her skill in using a spear. After Jade had reformed, she and Pearl talked it off about swordsmanship and Jade was delighted to know that she could take sword lessons with Pearl.

However, sometimes Pearl takes sword training too far and causes Jade to curl into a ball. In those situations, either Veszelyite, Steven, Garnet, or Connie had to calm her down.

(Amethyst) Jade and Amethyst didn’t have the best start, but they got along pretty quick. Jade had been caught by Amethyst’s whip during her discovery, but Jade was able to break herself free from the weapon and outran another attempt to be caught. Amethyst wasn’t the best at trying to interact with Jade, she had tried approaching by recounting memories they had together and could only come up with the whip-catching. However, Jade looks after Amethyst as if she were Steven and gets worried a lot when Amethyst starts her reckless shenanigans.

Amethyst doesn’t really help when Jade is having one of her anxieties, in fact, she mostly makes it worse.

(Steven) Jade is practically a mom besides Garnet and Pearl to Steven, Jade often pampers Steven and worries for his safety. Steven was the one to have found Jade hiding in an intact gem warship room and was the one to release her from Pearl’s bubble, the reason being confused as of why Jade had apologized after pushing him. He was also able to get a reaction from Jade when she was hiding in the storage room under the stairs, she loves it when he tells stories about his life or adventures and he loves it when Jade worries about him even with the slightest of toothaches.

Steven is also one of the four to be able to calm Jade down during her anxiety attacks, and doing so by reminding her that she wasn’t doing things alone and she could depend on someone else if needed.

(Peridot) Jade and Peridot had started off okay, due to both being green gems. Jade had jumped over Peridot during her escape attempt after Steven had found her and wasn’t present during the attempts to interact with her. But when Peridot interacted with Jade, Peridot was fascinated to know about Jade’s job as a healer and her healing powers whereas Jade was intrigued with Peridot’s natural engineering skills and her ability to control metal.

Peridot is also one of the two gems to have taught Jade about Earth and help her grow accustomed to the planet.

(Lapis Lazuli) Jade was at first scared of Lapis and her ability to control water, having to be captured and poofed by her. However, Peridot and Steven had suggested giving Lapis a chance to get to know her better and set up a Camp Pining Hearts marathon for the two to get along. In the beginning, Jade had sat a couple of feet away from Lapis and kept quiet, but overtime she began to ask questions about the show and sat closer to Lapis to be able to hear better. And in less than a month, Jade had grown accustomed to Lapis and was comfortable in hanging around with her.

Lapis is another of the two gems to have taught Jade about Earth and help her grow accustomed to the planet.

(Connie) Jade and Connie hit it off like they were old friends, although Connie wasn’t present during the discovery of Jade and the attempts to reach out to her, Jade was quick to take a liking to Connie. At first, Connie thought of Jade to be like her mother, but soon came to know that Jade was very different even though she cares a lot about safety. Jade is almost always present during one of Connie’s sword lessons and would often spar with her.

Connie is one of the four to be able to calm Jade down during one of her anxiety attacks, and being able to do so by relating herself to Jade so Jade would know she wasn’t the only one experiencing her lack of self-confidence.

(Greg) Jade and Greg don’t know each other very well, but they are friendly with each other when they interact, both being worried for Steven’s well bring but also knowing when to let him do as he pleases. Greg trusts Jade with Steven’s safety enough to leave the two alone and not worry.

(Veszelyite) Jade has a crush on Veszelyite, describing her as 'a beautiful and attractive gem’ and saying that 'not even an ocean can compare to her beauty’. Jade had first met Veszelyite on the warship she was assigned to when Veszelyite accidentally scared Jade and teases her about it. When Veszelyite realized that Jade wasn’t joking around, she apologized to her and starts a conversation with her. Jade tells Veszelyite about her doubts and worries and starts to have a panic attack when she thinks about all the gems that might get hurt.

Veszelyite assures Jade and puts down all her doubt and worries, then proceeds to tell her about her own doubts and worries and how she deals with them, successfully calming Jade and earning her friendship. Although, Veszelyite had stole something from Jade. Her heart.

Veszelyite is one of the four who are able to calm Jade during one of her anxiety attacks.

Everyone here is trying to know you better but you keep pushing them away! So stop! Stop being like me when I first met The Crystal Gems and give them a chance like how they’re giving you one! Please! If you’re not doing it for yourself then at least do it for me!” -after Veszelyite ticked off Lapis.

¦ “What? WHAT?! I can’t believe you three have been sneaking off to participate in this violent game! What if you three get hurt? What if I’m not here to heal you? Veszelyite! Your gem is fragile! If you accidentally cracked it, what are you going to do when you lose your energy and can’t get to me? What will I do then?! I just can’t stand around and watch you three wrestle with a chance of getting hurt! I understand you three need this, but I don’t want you all to get hurt. So. I will come with you. I’m going to become a nurse in this violent hole.” -after Jade catches Steven, Amethyst, and Veszelyite sneaking off.
