My turn to draw KID as anthro! Previously had only a face design, now I finished the ref, and here he is, from head to toes- I mean, paws 8DD

Some explanations and thoughts under the cut!

I think of Kaito Kuroba as a tanuki (trash raccoon moment haha, except he’s canine) in my AU, with a shapeshifting ability. Usually using it at school or among friends (and usually shifting only partially, like only a head and tail or hands) just for fun, he found a use for it when he became Kaitou KID. When he’s KID, he’s turning himself into a platinum fox, for disguise’s sake (there are even rumours, that he’s not just a fox, but a kitsune, among his fans and the police). He still has some similarities with his usual form’s markings tho, especially his face “mask” and the diamonds on his back and tail :>

Although Kaito’s shapeshifting ability is much less perfect than his dad’s, that’s why when he’s using it during arsons to disguise as other people for a short time, he’d likely shift only those parts that may be visible (i.e. the head and neck, tail and hands, etc), or he may lose it too suddenly, like if he’s got scared or someone grabs him by the tail or smth xd He needs to be careful
