do you ever think about how roger comes onto vicki the exact way burke does him. i do.
#constantly grabbing her; teasing; confrontation; partially violent; mean?#that he's emulating not just what he likes from the giving rather than receiving end (pain sometimes precedes pleasure; miss winters)#but that he's modeling after burke's masculinity — or machismo? (which roger doesn't have much of)#he doesn't ever slam vicki against the wall — he is a *gentleman* more or less — but he'll corner her on the staircase? get her pressed#against the banister; put his hand over her mouth; scare her a little? *that's* how the two of them deal with attraction#which is almost the polar opposite to how burke treats vicki. holding her hand gently. dance with her. smooch her forehead.#but burke sees her as a little lost woodland creature and roger (for various reasons) sees her as... more akin to him#generally#➤ ooc. ┊ she’s nauseous，she’s hysterical，and exhausted.
